Great video as always...the clothing section is usually the most chaotic part of the store at my Costco...getting a cart through there is near impossible...cheers!
Love that he filmed the video wearing that awesome flannel shirt that I think he said was like $350. The Costco project was fun, but it probably hurt his soul to wear the Costco clothes for more than 10 minutes. I put on some weight over the holiday season. Costco was my short term solution while I try to lose some weight and invest in better clothes later.
I knew someone would call me on that! ;) At this point it's hard to buy anything that isn't "exceptional," I agree... I have so much from starting and running this channel for about 18 months that even spending $10 on some "regular old jeans" seems wasteful almost. I dunno. Fun vid, though! Thanks for the comment, man!
I was listening to a denim focused podcast this morning and they were talking about Kirkland flannels. No Costco's around here..... maybe one day. Never know when I need a pack of 84 pairs of white socks or a 5 gallon bucket of mayo!
I think there's probably a good chance I re-do this in the fall when the flannels and stuff come out! A lot more to like during that season, I think! :) And yes on the mayo. When you need it, you need it!
Thanks for doing this segment Patrick, very fun. You've come a long way from the first few videos. Mixing things up between affordable and more niche offerings is a great way to move forward.
Thanks a bunch, Fred! Really appreciate the kind words. Yeah - I think affordable is cool... but I just have so much now that it's hard even to buy affordable stuff! hah!
I don't have a costco membership. I haven't really bought clothes from [competitor] but I guess they're not all terribile but usually not my style or I'd want a long sleeve version instead, etc.
I get annoyed when people come to my Yard Sale and tell me they can get the same clothes cheaper at [store] and I know for a fact that most of those clothes WON'T be 100% cotton or same quality name brand, which is why I bought them in the first place and would be wearing them if they fit.
Tough to justify the membership unless you buy something regularly they always have in stock. For us, it's Diet Pepsi and the white cans of Monster Engergy (although I'm trying to kick that habit). Even buying only those saves us more than the membership cost each year over regular grocery prices!
But yes, if you just need some jeans and things, it is still possible to put together an outfit for forty bucks and then tax and then shoes, but I don't know if they still make any decent quality socks like I used to get at Target or JCP. Seems like they wear out much faster now in past couple years, but Hanes might still be OK.
Oh, you're also wearing a belt here, though. A decent leather belt will still start around $40 or are they more now? I had a fake leather one from Target for years that was only ten bucks, I think, and did OK and then sort-of accelerated disintegration once it got past that certain point.
The cotton shirt might be a rebranded thing from an older parent company. Like I'm sure whomever made High Sierra clothes still makes clothes for somebody's label, etc. Do I need to agree that I don't care for the "performance" stuff, but I still have some. I mean, if you're going to play golf or something maybe it makes sense and the colors won't wash out and fade the same way, but overall I didn't think that was a terrible-looking TOTALLY casual outfit because instead of the blue jeans there was a nice earthy thing blend, blah, blah...
Great idea for a video! I love it!
Thanks, Lee!

Thanks, man! Yeah - I always look even if I don't buy. Cheers!
Another big challenge is Ross. I've spent 45 minutes in a Ross and could not find one shirt I liked. So many ugly shirts!
I feel you! I haven't been in a Ross in years, but mostly because there aren't any around me as far as I know!

@@rockymtnstyle then next trip, pick me up a bucket of mayo and send it my way! Amos interested to see if the flannels are any good. Haha

@@rockymtnstyle LOL...I totally get it!
This was fun.
Thanks, J! Definitely an interesting break from footwear reviews!
