Not knowing anything about this band other than loving their music and albums, I was expecting to see a couple of synth players, a guitarist, bassist and drums. Mind Blown!
Not only is it catchy as all get-out for an instrumental, it's a true wonder to watch them pull it off so tightly as a duo. Maybe my favourite live video of an instrumental on YT.
Even though I had already listened to this song a few times, watching the performance STILL took me on what felt like a journey through either the deepest parts of space or the deepest parts of my mind.
Officially my new Favorite band. Found them on Pandora and they give me everything I want to do myself in music. Using loops creatively in an instrumental setting with great drums. Rocking it as a two piece is tough but these two pull it off well.
They're making music and it sounds good. It's not to show off their technical skill. It's about the blending of sounds to create something coherent and beautiful. IT'S MUSIC. I feel they pull it off quite well.
@javier61330 i might classify it as post-rock since that's such a broad genre but El Ten Eleven is unique by itself in its use of loops as a main component of the music.. I've never heard a band similar to them honestly.
@sunnyday19791979 from what ive seen, he uses some octave pedal, but i see the digitech whammy, which comes into play i think more when hes doing stuff with a guitar. the line 6 delay modeler. i think i saw a ibanez tube screamer. in the interview from this performance i think they say something like 11 pedals all together. something i think i figured out is that hes not putting both loop pedals at the very end of his pedal chain. maybe to make the sounds very different?
@triviumfr3ak Not that I totally agree, but damn with a whole world of awesome guitarists there's finally someone who can play bass at least as much relevant and important as this.
ratatat have been around longer and I would argue el ten eleven have been inspired by them more as of late. Their last album was a lot dancier and definitely reflected the work of people that had heard classics by R@3. Both bands are pretty incredible though.
@guitarguy4991 I gotta say.... watching him play that thing does get me a little hot under the collar. And when he just tosses that pick away? Oh my....

Yeah Man, it's a great tune!
The KEXP studio has come a long way
Didn't even realize it was all bass in this track

That's a $6000 dollar bass. I have never wanted anything so bad.
This is what I feel about a Grand Seiko spring drive heheh nice bass
GOLDEN SOUNDS
these guys are fantastic i love pretty much everything they do. and they are perfect for smoking tooo...
It's crazy how far KEXP has come with their video production. They already had their audio down though, even way back here it sounds great!
One of the best bands I have ever listened too.
Discovered this from a movie soundtrack. Awesome
I could listen to this song over and over again
binging with babish
i wish i had stuff like this on the radio where i live
There is. Find a college radio station near you :)
Love the early 80s vibe of the song! Keep up the batteries in that looper!

Like El Ten Eleven, and they are the best duet EVER !
Great song & I loved the performance.

Great band! Live is a true WONDER to experience!
thanks for this. I've seen these guys live twice now and both times it has been an absolute joy. love 'em!!
How could anyone ever in existence dislike this video?
@3:03- Love it when he tosses the pick and strokes.
never would’ve thought this song was played only on a fretless bass.. these guys are amazing
Takes me back
Stellar!
I like Van Halen because Van Halen is cool. Great melody.
That was a joy to watch!
Love love love from Greece !
Very Fantastic!!

SUch a great song! i love it so much!
this music is really awesome.
Probably my favorite song by them
I've really known about this band for years and only now just realizing they're a duo lmao
Just saw these guys last night... their live performance sounds just like their recordings. Really good show cause they both get really into it
Just like the real Van Halen, whose live performances usually sound as good if not better than the album recordings. 🎸🥁
They're so tight!
freaking awesome.
Holy shit. Most talent i've ever seen.
Just like the real Van Halen
Onjectified(documentary) brought me here, they´re amazing! :D
Yes they do ivypark! Im tellin everyone i can, this band hasta keep makin music!!

Just like the real Van Halen, who were the best ever American Rock Band.

Just so fucking good!
Cool!
two of the most talented individuals i've ever seen
That's pathetic.
Fucking love this.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Holy Cow!!!
I can only dream of making such sounds on a bass....
True bro! true!
@crimsongrim666
dude, yes! i thought i was the only one.
Longboard for days with this & explosions in the sky jammin through your headphones.

NO MAMES!!!! That's a fu$%#ng good sound!

Can you play Eruption on bass :) ?
@triviumfr3ak Not that I totally agree, but damn with a whole world of awesome guitarists there's finally someone who can play bass at least as much relevant and important as this.
Hot Laps!
The El Ten Eleven website has the list of pedals Kristian uses.
@chiragk4 whammy pedal, it knocks whats going into the amp up by one octave or down by one, a lot of bassists use them for stuff like this.
eargasm

wat kind of music is this
Good type
SLAPPING DA BASS
does anyone knows where can I get this song ??
Exactly what I was thinking. Not just dudes though... bass playing dudes. That's about it.
Nice flowy ride song
@pencildives hmm. on second thought, he does both at different times.
fretless bass more akin to a classic stringed instrument, like a violin or string bass.
can anyone say me what effects is using the bass ?
the only thing cooler than this song is that fret less bass, I've never seen anything like that.
@guitarguy4991 I gotta say.... watching him play that thing does get me a little hot under the collar. And when he just tosses that pick away? Oh my....
this song reminds me of a kid i know, his sister told him skinny jeans were cool, so he bought 8 pairs
The magic happens at 3:03!
That is epic! O.O Sweet octave pedal :o!
The Giant Mechanical Man
@bukithd I like how the guy with a Breaking Benjamin and a Staind upload is trying to say this band isn't talented.
goddammit I need a fucking wal.
Every object, intentionally or not, speaks to whom put it there. (Objectified ost)
Why is Asking Alexandria in the related videos? Sheesh
the ending has a Rush flavor to it; trying to remember what song
I agree. To me, I am hearing the end of Track 1 from the album Signals -- i.e. Subdivisions.
Makes you reconsider the genre of "Drum n' Bass" doesn't it?
@leehamX3 no it has been returned.
scrubs's dr. cox on the bass
DRUM N BASS YO
@pencildives no. octive pedal.
...... i didnt know this was possible.
Just like the real Van Halen, thats what all guitarists said when they first heard Eruption. 🤘🎸🙏🏽
high as fuck haha !!
@mobako reconsider? More like reclaim.
@squidpirate and loop pedals cost money :( But talent is free! :) I want loop pedals too.... but moneys always tight in my family
haha clever, rock on
@squidpirate and loop pedals cost money :( But talent is free! :)
It Sounds more like your Sister meant U2!
@bukithd DADA, actually.
@JmufucknM good one ;)
With dudes!
2:33 no fucks were given, behind glass
