    A lot of people may like or not Steve Vai. People may say that he lacks of heart or originality (which I don't agree, at least in most of his songs) but nobody can deny that his guitar skills are out of this world. I've always thought of " Tender Surrender " as the Blues on steroids...
    I've always loved the fact that Steve doesnt shy away from expressing himself via his facial expressions & how he moves his body...
    I know there is this school of thought that one particular guitarist or any musician is the greatest out of them all but i dont go down that route as they are all amazing & we should appreciate what they do without using elitist ways of describing one is better than the other...
    I could easily type in a list of lead guitarist that have blown me away over 4 plus decades but I'll never class any one of those guitarists as being better than another...
    Just enjoy what each one brings to the table of music...

    Hi Steve, I am a huge fan of yours. I listen to your music since I was a child. And of course, as an amateur guitar player, I have always been trying to do your riffs on my guitar (of course, in a very amateur way). And now, I have just found out that my newborn baby boy really loves this song of yours. He gets very calm when he listens to this song of yours in special...

    Steve, you have always been one of my favorite guitar players ever since I bought Flex-Able from shapnel records back in 1985 and of course the movie crossroads. However, for me, I have never heard a better version of this song other than the one you put on the album Alien Love Secrets. That was the perfect way to play it and it could never get any better that that, just my opinion. Thank you for all the great music you gave us and continue to give us. And just to be clear no matter how you play it, it's always badass!

      evo has a neck pickup which i see in the vids where he plays evo he uses that neck pickup flo II and III have a sustaner not humbucking pickup with single coil next to it if anything its more treble not muted

    • @leewhitworth9142
      @leewhitworth9142 5 років тому

      Well, EVO and FLO III have the same pickups so they sound really alike. I think his sound in this performance has more to do with the way his amp is set up. Plus FLO III has a sustainer in the neck position, making it easier to do all that crazy stuff with his guitar.

    Still gives me shivers 23 years or so after release of ALS. Wish the sound crew could have done a better job of not loading up on every other instrument, overpowering Steve's amp.
