I can’t wait to get into electrical. I’m 26 and have been salaried in retail for 6 years, but never truly enjoyed it here. I’m excited to start at the bottom and grind away to work my way up! My newborn daughter is really what convinced me to make the leap and do something I am interested in and something that provides better for my family. Thank you for the advice, man!

I got in the trade in 1974. Passed my journeyman exam in 1977 and retired from the trade in 2013. In all those years I was only out of work 6 weeks in the summer of 1975 due to a construction slow down in my area. 3 things I would suggest. 1 learn motor control circuitry. 2 hone your trouble shooting skills. 3 learn to read and understand prints. Quick story in 1976 while still an apprentice I was specifically sent to a job because of my ability to read blue prints. The electrical rough in inspection had failed 3 times and the master running the job couldn't figure it out. I was given 2 weeks on this building. Achieved the goal. Never knew what became of that master electrician after that

I'm trying to figure out what to do myself. I wasted ten years going to school for animation. I worked at Pixar as an intern in Summer 2019 and I worked at Deck Nine Games as a junior animator from December 2021 to May 2023. I was part of a mass layoff. On February 9, 2023, I began to experience dizziness, which I'm still trying to figure out. It's just part of my life now. I have not been able to find another job in the industry and lots of layoffs are happening. I don't know if I should try to become a plumber or an electrician. I'm basically a failure in this life. 1989. I grew up during Dragon Ball and Toonami era. Those legendary days of cartoons and anime. I'm at a complete loss at this point. I have no idea why I'm alive.

But you need to learn it for real like codes and stuff too. Not just change 1 light switch and think you're done. Hey, got a cple questions for you. I’m moving back from living in Spain for a while, I just finished up a course which enables me here to either work as a basic electrical installer and or with solar panels, and I’m about to do 300hours of an apprenticeship. I’m also getting ready to move back home within the year to San Diego, CA. I know that things are done much differently back home from here, but would you have any idea if it would be possible to get some sort of work with the education I’ve got from Spain, or would I have to start from scratch?
I’ve seen back home there’s a trade school that starts everyone off working as an apprentice, while going to class two nights a week. What’s your opinion on that?
