"Little more than an unimportant village girl, Wren would meet a young noble lord, seducing her with dreams of becoming more than who she was.
When Wren presented the lord with a litter of kits, his own litter, only then did the lord realize the mistake he had made. Bastard litters were frowned upon in the nobility, and so he had them murdered and displaced to look like an atrocity of nature rather than the cruelty of cats.
Wren saw through the illusion, and went mad with rage. She murdered other lowly lords before disappearing into the Deep Wilds, vanishing for years, only to return with a determination to rid free the Bleak Lands of the rot that had taken hold of its people.
The innocent girl known as Wren was long gone...
