I always read the butterfly as being an image symbolic of love itself. The romance song is about how two people (butterflies) came together, but had to part, then at the end Mirabel found the butterfly at the creek when she and her grandmother had their talk and the love was rekindled between them. In this case, it is the love that should have been getting burned in Grandmother's fire.
Bruno at 3:49 is a genius moment. Just like in canon in the movie it was portrayed that he didn’t know if Mirabel would safe or destroy the House. And here in this Reality she destroyed it
In fact. They sold Isabella to another important family in the city. As monarchs did for power and territory. Truly a vile act on the part of the family.
This reminds of a line from a song called Blood In The Water. The line being: The price of your greed is your sons and your daughters. Both of them match so well
I love the impact of that line ending in time with the image of Agustin, who within the Encanto fandom is widely believed to be unliked by Alma. Because Alma didnt think he was good enough for the family and wanted Julieta to marry someone else. Aka another instance of Alma wanting to marrying off not only her grandchildren but having also wanted to marry off her literally her own daughters for gain and prestige.
@@_-..Eva..-_913 heck in a way Luisa was sold to the town, she has to move the church, reroute the river, collect the guys donkeys all for the town. some of those are just ridiculous and the donkey thing is just lazy on the farmers part
3:44 the fact that Luisa and Camilo are both definitely more worried about Mirabel than the candle. You can tell if they were going after the candle they’d be angry, or frustrated. Despite what she did, despite the earth literally crumbling around them, they do still care deeply for Mirabel. This just solidifies how the candle and more so Abuela tore them apart and ostracized Mirabel form her sisters and cousins just because she lacked a gift
I mean you can literally see Camilo calling out to her with this concerned expression. I love that despite it all they still try and reach out to her 😭😭
Camilo and Mirabel literally grew up together, they were going to get their gifts the same year. Camilo, being born first, got his gift before Mirabel so when she didn't get a gift I can imagine him feeling so much guilt because he got something she didn't get. I feel like Camilo and Mirabel would have the closest relationship because of how they grew up. ❤ I don't think this makes any sense but you get what I mean yeah?
Until Antonio got his gift, Mirabel was the one to effectively raise him. It wasn't until he got his gift of being able to talk to & understand animals that the rest of the family (most of all Abuela) actually gave enough attention to him.
@@kirby3219 What's very interesting about Antonio's gift to me is it seems like another attempt by Casita. The first attempt was no gift, and that didn't get any message across to Abuela. But, guess who has animal companions and lives in the walls??? Bruno! Prob the second attempt was to get Antonio to communicate with the rats to figure out and help Bruno. Of course Mirabel was not one to sit idly by, plus circumstances were developing faster than probably anticipated so it didn't have a chance to really come into play.
I think that while Abuela was trying to get to the candle, everyone else was singing the tune of, "MIRABEL GET OFF THE CLIFF I KNOW YOU HATE US BUT WE STILL LOVE YOU AND THAT'S DANGEROUS"
Same with the original song. Mira being so bitter and poisoned by Abuela and all the past rejection that she physically can’t see or understand the fact that her family loved her and wants her safe ):
@@Liam_Phoenix Agreed. In Mirabel's eyes, Isa surely hates her as much as she hates her (we see how bad their relationship is, and the one who caused this, was yet again Abuela. The pressure she put on Isa make her jealous of Mira for not having that pressure while Mira is envious of the attention Isa gets from Abuela. They only see how good the other have it, because she has what the other can't have) In the previous song, Camillo was the only one who seemed to try to reach for Mira rather than the candle, likely because they are the same age and he feels closer to her than his siblings on this point, just like she may have compared to her perfect oldest sister who hates her or her older sister that is made to run across the village for everyone.
@@orianefaton1885I could see them definitely "hating" each other but let's be honest under that jealous/envious hate, the two sisters definitely care and love each other. I don't think Isabela would actually be happy seeing her youngest sister dying even if she's so angry at her and feeling 'hate' towards her. In their childhood days before Alma starts pressuring Isabela even more pressure, The two eldest and youngest were so close.
In all honesty, I don't blame Mirabel for turning out like that. She has any and all reasons to be a villain. Sure, she had Antonio, but he was still a child and barely could understand what was going on within the family, let alone why everyone was so hard on her. She and Bruno could've easily been villains and great ones at that.
She had antonio and while she loved him, Mirabel was also parentified into raising him and was never given the credit for it. Mirabel loves him, but him getting a gift shoved her further into shadows and kind of confirmed there being something wrong with her for her to not have a gift
I couldn't be in more agreement! Abuela was literally ignoring and treating Mirabel horribly, you have no idea how many nerves that granny cracked out of me! Mirabel is also right, abuela doesn't deserve an apology and all of this is literal Karma!
I feel like out of everyone else. She felt the guiltiest taking his gift away because 1. he is a kid and didn't do anything wrong, 2. Antonio loves her so much and vice versa. That it had to hurt to actually take his gift away
@@Command_Block27Well she could literally here EVERYTHING, every breathe drawn, every snore for miles- and a lot more She could probably here a bird peeing 6 miles away
Even when blowing out the candle to make her family feel even a fraction of the pain she has endured, Mirabel still loves her family. I remember something someone once said that I feel is very true, that hate itself comes from love, that we hate someone because they hurt or were a threat to someone we love, or they were someone we once loved. Mirabel loves her family even now, but the pain she has endured whether direct or indirect has taken that love and turned it into hate. And even after blowing out the candle, she questions whether what she did was the right thing, with her asking herself, “What have I done?” However, Mirabel doubles down on the fact that it’s her family’s fault this happened, otherwise she would break, because how would her family love her now? And even now, Abuela’s focus is on the candle, not on Mirabel, because that is what is important to her. Mirabel’s mother tried to reach out to her, but she quickly realizes how it’s too little too late, as sometimes it’s the ones who stand by that makes it hurt even more. At the end where you see each family members expressions in one panel, her mother is the only one shedding tears, because she now sees Mirabel’s pain and wishes she could just take it all away, that she had done more so Mirabel wouldn’t feel so alone. Even Mirabel’s expression at the end isn’t one of victory, of finally destroying what Abuela cherishes the most, it’s of resignation, of defeat. She is so broken and tired that she just wants to leave everything behind, because even if she goes back now there is nothing left for her. Very poetic that it’s the candle that burns the butterfly to ash, representing the family tradition destroying the change that could have healed old wounds. Thank you Lydia for another great song that I didn’t think we’d ever get a part 2, but now I’m hoping there might one day be a part 3. Looking forward to your next song. Still hoping for a part 2 of Anna’s villain song, I’d like to see where she travels emotionally after her last encounter with Elsa. Elsa may have been the one with ice powers, but Anna became the Snow Queen in that song.
The hate/love thing also works well with other characters from different media and the main one that I think works well is Optimus Prime and Megatron (Mainly Transformers Prime one) Optimus didn't wish to terminate Megatron's spark and hopes to change his mind while Megatron (I believe) wants his old friendship that he had back (Optimus said that the two of them were like brothers so that can hit hard if anyone felt that way [which would be worse if they were blood related too]) and plus our John Brown (watched Extra History for this) actually says that "peace to slavery was not possible and answer to this was immediate and total. If that required a violent uprising, then so be it" that was similar to Megatron's approach, but peace was favored in Optimus case unless you grow up in a place that war was constant
Abuela focused on the candle but it feels like the rest of the family are just scared of maribelle being out out to hurt herself. Because they all love her more than feared Abuela, heck in the movie the dad tried hard to counter the BS Mirabel experience. Even if didn’t do enough.😢 This song was so good and loved the scene with Bruno just beautiful.
Tbf i feel everyone is glossing over the part of the Candle being the last thing she has of her husband. Seeing it go out is like losing him all over again.
@@Justapikachu577 they still a reminder of her lost husband, she should cherish them more than a stupid candle. As you said, they are peoples, not objects
@@neah9060did you forget the candle is the only reason they're alive? Had the candle not made a haven around them then her husband's sacrifice would have been in vain. Yes her children are reminders of her husband but it compares nothing to the very blessing of being alive which only the candle granted. You act like she intended to neglect her family. She had conditioned herself to believe she needed to be perfect and be the leader of an entire village because the candle only appeared to her. Also its a literal magic candle! You act like its a regular object. The candle is the only reason they were able to continue supporting the village until they no longer needed its assistance (which is probably why mirabel didn't get a gift aside from the fact she is the next to keep the family together). But by that point Abuela had already relied heavily on the candle and its blessings to keep the village thriving. Thats why she learns at the end she doesn't need it nor do they need any powers to remain safe because the dangers are already gone and having each other is all they need.
This is a very tragic story for every character involved but I think we're underestimating how sad this is for Antonio specifically. He's a kid being put through three different betrayals in three different universes whether it's his sister or one of his cousins turning evil. Whichever one we're talking about, it's a lot for a child to be dealing with to say the least.
@@coolphoton1234 still, Abuela only cared about the candle and the perfect illusion of the family and not about the feelings and the personalities of the family
@@Fantasy_idaatje She cared about the last thing she had of her husband who sacrificed himself to save her and their children. She did a shit job, but don't lie about what she cared about, please.
@@KainYusanagi I don't lie it's just my opinion and if you don't like it I'm never gonna force you to think the same but please don't put up a discussion I had enough discussions last month
The way Abuela is only looking at the candle falling 3:59 instead of looking at Mirabel, shows she still not listening to Mirabel and only worrying about the candle is sad 😢
You also have to remember that the can for is special in 2 ways. That’s where the gifts come from but also the very last thing that she owns that serves as a reminder of her husband. Don’t ask me about the picture by the stairs that confuses me too
3:48 I loved the detail that in Bruno's frame, his background looks fragmented, just like in the vision he had, realizing that in the end Mirabel did destroy casita and the magic.
Elsa and Mirabel both had perfect villain backstories, but Disney wouldn't commit. It's gonna be amazing when they finally do a movie and reveal "the beautiful, resourceful main character with all the songs? She was the villain. Not an anti-hero, not someone doing bad things before a redemption, she's the straight-up villain of this story."
No one is talking about how even the animals are turning around. They also want no part in this power. Either that or mirabel now holds all of their individual powers in her hands (literally in the form of the candle but also in a weird power transfer). It was such an interesting concept. The butterfly killing itself in the flame by repeatedly trying to get close is 100% mirabel all this time and now her old self has completely died. We keep seeing glimpses of her but I think the mirabel of now is trying to mourn the loss of the mirabel from before (since she assumes no one else will). The animals turning their heads just shows that even they won’t participate, whether in the hunt for mirabel or to comfort mirabel. I think they are also done being pawns in someone’s game.
My absolute favorite part of all of this was hearing, *"Changing your tune/Oh wE'Re sO PrOuD oF YoUu."* That was glorious. I adore the mockery in that.
Immediately reminded me of Inside Out 2 river of sarcasm, this part is my favourite part. Tbh, this is the best villain song, the whole plot and lyrics and bgm was perfect
Sometimes you got to be better than them You can resent the family for the rest of your life, the best revenge is to live with your best life (Although I wish that this time in Disney, one family member cut blood related ties, no getting back together but no more hated, just moving on with peace)
I love how her present self was the only one to comfort her past self. She was the only one to know what she went through because everyone else was wrapped up in their own gifts, or being manipulated by Alma's obsession with their gifts.
Mirabel and Bruno had literally EVERY RIGHT to turn into the single best villain duo. Awesome yet terrifying. The movie would've gotten a lot more fame if Disney let Mirabel go the villain route.
Very soft, yet powerful song. The abuse Mirabel has suffered has brought her to a breaking point to where she wants to see it all collapse, and even when she has doubts, she holds onto her actions otherwise she feels all she's done is for nothing. "I've come too far" is a dangerous mindset, as it makes you believe there's no good in stopping when you still have a chance. Mirabel says she has nothing left to lose, but that's only because she gave everything she has left up. She has loving family, but she sees the power as the driving force, not their love for her. And she knows this deep down. Her tears as she breaks the candle shows this, but she feels she cannot stop now even when she could.
She might actually know. But the way she's been treated until now? What would change, even if she stopped? The trauma is too much. And it may be unrealistic to expect change. And what would she even expect at all? Sometimes, you can't imagine something differently. After a point, it becomes impossible.
@@Mikey-ve6wd not to mention that at a certain point, it's almost impossible to let the treatment go. it's already been cemented as fact to the traumatized, so what can change that fact in a way that is seen as permanent? in this instance, she's seen that they suddenly care, but i'm willing to believe that part of the decision to crush the candle was to see who's caring for HER, as opposed to caring about the candle she's holding. without the candle, what reason does the grandmother have to continue to follow Mirabel? without The Miracle, why is Mirabel important? granny know-nothing just focuses on the miracle, and in the movie eventually realizes the real miracle is the family, not the candle giving special powers. but the problem is, it takes her LOSING The Miracle just to understand that. in this song, she just realized how bad she was, but i want to be slightly optimistic and say she might not have known it in time to stop the events. but from Mirabel's point of view.... oh good lord, personal experience despite having no siblings, it's hell when you get sidelined for the image you have to present, the part you have to play despite wanting to be yourself instead of the puppet dancing on the strings of the superior. i'll close this out by saying cold anger and dangerous lines of thought can go hand in hand, and she had all the motive to go for more permanent methods. she did the family a favor by taking away the powers instead of some things more easily taken. TL:DR Mirabel is justified in breaking the candle, because it's a test of who loves and cares about her for HER, not the candle she's carrying. and she has every right to do this test, too.
I find it funny that Part 1 ended with the implication that Mirabel KILLED her family, while this one is basically her being tired of everyone's shit. Less a "Villain Mirabel" and more of a "Done Mirabel". Am I the only one who noticed that these two songs put together kinda represent the initial thought and eventual truth behind the vision? The first showed Mirabel as an active threat, gleefully and maliciously tearing down everything the Madrigals have built. But the second? The second is the truth: a young girl tired of being pushed aside and mistreated, deciding to simply separate herself from the toxic environment. Two songs. A manifestation of fear and anger: Alma's greatest fear and the anger that dwells within Mirabel's heart. Loved this song, loved the last song, and just plain love your work in general;)
I love the detail of how Mirabel in front of her family makes her voice sound unaffected and calculated like she knows if she shows she’s wavering they will be able to talk her out of this of destroying the candle and burning the bridge to her family effectively cutting her relationship with them off meanwhile as soon as her family’s not in sight she starts breaking and doubting herself but knows that she has to finish what she started
What I love about this song is the butterfly symbolism about it! The fact one of the butterflies burned to death thanks to the candle, like saying that the family (or in this case Mirable) was just hurting thanks to the candle, aka, the magic of the family
I knew I recognized the art style from the thumbnail! Can't wait for the animatic ^^ itsnicsalad is SO freaking talented >< Okay this animatic was INSANE!! It's so epic :D
I don’t think a dark empath would “turn off” their gift. Imo, a dark empath uses their gift by embracing and feeding off the negative emotions willingly. And use those emotions to their own benefit. 😈 “Let us see how a crowd would react to just one voice. A voice of wrath, grief, pessimism, or anything at all.”
@@RabbitsFunWorldno They would disregard it Feel every bit of hurt they see and cause and simply not care When a empath “goes dark” they aren’t corrupted persay just *numb*
@@RabbitsFunWorld a good way I found Is to simply not think of people as people Would you care for the opinion of a potted plant? Would you empathize with an abandoned building? If you can figure out a way to simply not see people as people it gets a lot easier to be numb to there suffering
3:12 I love the detail of when she touches Isabella she gets wrapped up in her own vines almost signifying Isabella having been trapped into playing the role of the perfect princess and ended up hurting Mirabel in the process and how pepa gets struck by her own lightning signifying her lack of control over her emotions ending up also striking Mirabel like how in the movie pepa kept on giving mirabel death glares and how Luisa just fell asleep like Mirabel’s trying to get her to relax and go to sleep showing she still cares for her
If you eventually do Sofia the First it should be a finale to all the villain princess after you done all of them. Elena as a villain would make a good prequel or midquel and her villainous can effect the amulet to be evil instead rewarding Sofia for being bad. The amulet is implied to transcend space and time so it could summon all the villainous princesses instead who further make her a villain even ones from different continuities like both Villian Elsa and Villain Anna. She is very powerful at the end of the series being the story keeper, protecter of the realms and can even take the power of the wicked 9 for herself and use her OP magic to summon all the villainous princess and use her own magic and status to take over all of not only Enchancia but the Mystic Isles and the whole EverRealm itself because that was being royal all around Power.
And the artist could draw dozens of princesses silhouettes in the background as a placeholder recton for the many more Disney Princess Disney will make and Lydia would make into villains
Seeing Mirabel as a badass villain queen is EVERYTHING I ALWAYS WANTED SINCE I SAW THE MOVIE. being worth less than a candle???? BULLSHIT. GO OFF MIRA (okay I know she's more desperate and depressed than a villain queen but shhh I love her regardless she can do no wrong)
I can imagine her going "the house won before, but I'm burning it down with the same flame you coveted. I don't care how far I'll have to walk, how many nights unslept, I don't even care if I drop dead or walk into the sea; you will NEVER have this power again."
And when Abuela finally corners and tries to convince Mirabel to stop, she just goes, "lies lies lies. I've heard them all before. You say you love me, after treating me like a ghost? A curse? An omen!? Prove it, snuff out the flame yourself! ...no? Of course not..."
2:51 that is such a chilling scene. I dont know why but seeing the family as just dolls is really creepy, especially with Mirabel and her unhinged mannerisms. A very cool scene
2:19 I love this detail of Dolores trying to get used to not being able to hear where people are without her powers...then she makes a face at (2:20) of something along the lines of 'Oh..I forgot..They're gone.' It just makes me so happy to see such small details!!!
Mirabel doesn't even feel like a villain by choosing to extinguish and destroy the candle, The weight of the expectations the gifts brought weighed far more than the gifts truly gave. To the point Abuela only cared about their powers and what SHE personally thought is best for the "family", ignoring all the suffering and problems she was causing with this fixation. Sure, Mirabel is playing the part of an antagonist by making this choice, but I feel like even now she's still doing what she feels would genuinely help everyone. And honestly, several members of the family ARE better off without these gifts that overshadowed their own personal wants, desires, and lives.
Man, I wonder what Bruno was thinking at that moment. He knew for years that his family was on the brink of destruction, he tried to leave to save them. Only for that action to domino into the very fate he fought so hard to avoid, because they don’t talk about him. A beautiful song as always. Great work.
The fact that the candle was Alma and Pedro's unity candle from their wedding and is one of the few things Abuela had of her old life & husband adds to the pain. Mirabel finally was able to inflicted the same pain Abuela put her through for so many years but targeting the one thing that was most important, in more ways than one.
I feel bad for Mirabel in this pt2 song, Lydia sings so good for her. She does not only deserve more attention but she deserves all the support she needs! This song is so sad, this song could fit someone’s OC.
The detail of Dolores trying to hear where Mirabel is only to realize she doesn't have her gift anymore and is sad by it is such an attention to detail.
Could the next one be Vanellope? I imagine her watching Ralph die when he tries to save her in the Chaos race, and the virus copier copying her insecurity, transmitting her tilt to the entire internet, while she thought of Ralph blaming himself for preferring the internet instead of your best friend, vowing to destroy the internet world with hate in his heart!
I think the first movie would be best (it is way better than the second one and it'll have more emotional damage), after vanellope wasn't able to save halph from dying at the volcano, realizing that her entire life was stolen by king candy, she kills him (he dosen't turn into a cybug) and restores the whole game, but she dosen't become a rightful ruler, she becomes a dicator queen, torturing all the racers that bullied her at the start n such
@Anne_Drawings fully agree with this. The first movie was 100000x way better, and I would love to see Lydia do a song for Vanellope from the first movie 🖤
Truth is, Mirabel should've cut contact with her family. Someone who treats you as less and literally forgets you in family pictures doesn't love you the way you should be loved. Sometimes, blood can't make a family and many times, family doesn't need blood to be true.
“You’ll learn to fear the one with nothing left to lose…” 3:59 Jesus she’s right with nothing left to lose she can’t get hurt anymore (Btw beautiful song Lydia you never fail to amaze us with your songs❤)
I understand Mirabel's pain so much, but it also hurts that her anger is blinding her to the unconditional love that she has from some of her family members, such as Antonio and her parents. Mirabel is so loved and she has no idea!
You know, it'd be so fun to have a Disney protagonist who starts off as a villain (not a jerk, but an actual villain) and the whole film is their redemption arc.
I now really want an Antonio villain song maybe after seeing his cousin suffer and be mistreated by their own family, on his ceremony he had resentment towards the candle and in this version he got his room and powers but he used his animal friends to grab the candle for him and run into the room and go up the stairs to blow out the candle or throw it down the waterfall that’s in his room to destroy it and maybe during the song Mirabel is trying to get him to stop and he’s opening her eyes to how it really is. I think Mirabel is more on the side of “well they’re my family and I know they love me in their own way so it’s ok” regarding their treatment of her while Antonio, who yes is a kid but kids are perspective to things adults do and is like “no they didn’t love you Mirabel they didn’t give you your own room” cause I have a head canon that once Antonio was old enough to understand emotions and empathy I think that leading up to his ceremony day Mirabel would cry herself to sleep knowing she’ll be alone in the nursery and despite her efforts to tell Antonio that she’s fine he knows she’s not thus villain song time!
I love how Mirabel is much more reserved in her anger at her family compared to her first song. Calm anger is the scariest anger, after all. And as someone who was unsatisfied with the movie's ending, it brought me immense joy to see her declare that she no longer wanted them in her life and turned their back on them. Traumatic past or not, they all chose to keep sidelining her. She has every right to want them out of her life.
Even those who didn't sideline her, like Julietta was never really doing it, same for Luisa (at least, never consciously for them) were likely too busy. Luisa had to run everywhere to do everyone's errands and Julietta alternated between cooking and feeding people to heal them. Camillo is likely in a similar situation, in having to go around town, transforming into people and replacing them.
Queen Amaya's Villain Song Amaya has the most reasonable reason to become a villain, she sees the man she loves become corrupted by magic and straight up turns into a complete madman. Her Villain Origin can take place either after King Magnifico's descent into madness or at the end of the film since she'd have access to everything in his Dungeon.
I haven't seen wish (for obvious reasons) But I heard she was originally supposed to be a villian and her and Magnifico were supposed to be a villian couple.
I want a Camillo villain song now. One about how he always had to change who he was to appease others but was never appreciated for who he was himself.
That was actually so good like Bruno watching from behind, unable to do anything, Antonio crying as he tried to stop Mirabel, Abuela focusing on the candle and not Mirabel, and the table with Abuelas puppets
Can I just say how much I love these? And how it kills me that I can’t find any fanfics that match the energy you pack into these songs? They all either fail to commit or seriously overplay things to the point it’s hard to take seriously. Damn, these are just perfect
That thumbnail of Mirabel looks super awesome and authentic! I do feel very bad for Mirabel for never getting the love and respect they deserved, so this is completely understandable. I'll still look forward to seeing Ariel get a part 2 villain song with an animatic! 100/100! 😈🦹🏻♀🎵🎵🎶🎸🎵🎼
There is nothing more dangerous than an enemy with nothing left to lose. Because when you have nothing to lose, and everything to gain, there’s nothing you won’t do.
I’ve said this before between this and Moana’s villain song it’s actually pretty satisfying in these AUs of Mirabel and Moana calling out their families for their hubris. I’d love to see you do one for Miguel from Coco or maybe a young Coco herself turning on her mother cause Lord knows Imelda needed to be called out.
The lines "Oh, we're so proud of you." especially hits hard in this song because that's what Mirabel wanted. She wanted to be treated like her family, she wanted to love them and be loved in return. But their family had became so obsessed with their powers that even for the ones who did care for her even without any powers still didn't do anything. Antonio, Isabela, Lusia, Camilo, and Dolores I get since they are Mirabel's siblings and cousins. Antanio is literally a child and the others have their own issues to deal with. But the adults? They didn't do anything. They didn't take the kids and leave even after seeing how they were being treated. Yes, it's their culture for the family to live together and I don't mean to disrespect that culture. I just don't see how following that aspect of their culture is worth more than a person's health, safety, and hapiness. Is it really worth it if it makes the people you claim to love misrable? The first time it's said at 1:10, Mirabel is pointing out that they didn't show that they were proud of her even if she didn't have a gift. And she didn't do it by just pointing it out. Instead she moved her mother's hand to her cheek and said the words that she wanted to hear for so long as if her mother (Juliete) was the one to say it. She made the situation she wanted, but it wasn't real. Her mother hadn't been the one to say it, Mirabel had been. At 2:25, Juliete was looking at her hand because of what Mirabel did at 1:10. The realization of how much Mirabel has been hurting is sinking in. And if Mirabel has been hurting this whole time, then what about Lusia and Isabela? What about the rest of the family? The realization that the family wasn't perfect and happy was sinking in for her. And the last time at 3:35, Mirabel becomes what she had needed. She is the one telling her child safe that she is proud. Because she knows the pain it brings of trying to make those around you proud and not being enough because of something out of your control. So she is the one telling her kid self that she is proud, she is the one supporting and praising kid Mirabel when nobody else would.
I love how she makes the song almost as if they were made to be in the real sorry if Mirabel chose to be a Villen which she had every right to be. If she chose to do a third part I would love Lyida to use waiting on a miracal, just think how the lines could be changeds in she style is so cool. Such as if she did "I was once waiting on a miracal", or evern "I had been steadfast and steady" or something like that. But either way love her songs can' wait for the next.
This is so terrifying There’s short sharp breaths in between lyrics with no space for anyone to take a second It’s like the words are toppling over one another Mirabel isn’t giving her grandmother a second to talk against her
I really feel sorry for Mirabell. When I think about another part of Encanto (If it comes out), I hope that Mirabel will discover an alternative way to use the magic that her family has, like classic magic.
I have to say, this felt less of a villain song and more of someone just done with the family. That they want nothing more than to leave the family and make them suffer before leaving. She even feel some guilt for her little cousin Antonio, but can't turn back from her crusade.
In my opinion, Mirabel had every right to be a villain but in the original chose kindness and love. This is the ending everyone who has ever felt like a Mirabel or Bruno in their own family wanted to see. There is only so much a person can take before they decide to stop being nice and treat others the way they were treated. This truly is the epitome of "Why should I apologize for being the monster? No one ever apologized for making me this way."
This is insane! The Bruno scene at 3:49 was so SO sad because he got treated in a very similar way! Can't wait for more - also I would LOVE a Camilo villain song too! Most people overlook his powers because they seem pretty cool but what about identity issues and stuff? Thanks for making this
One of my favorite villain songs from you gets a sequel? HELL YEAH! I've always adored how her motivation doesn't just come from being underappreciated but also the fact that her uncle Bruno went through the same rejection even with his power. Now she's just teaching her arrogant family a lesson, one that will last a lifetime. Haha, I love it👏👏👏
“Have i brought on a new contender?” God that is amazing, if I am interpreting this one right, Mirabel is actually thinking that she may have completely ruined Antonio’s life. His new gift that he was so happy of, taken away from him almost immediately after, despite him not doing anything to Mirabel. For one second she asked herself, have I made another villain? Did I ruin his life so bad, just like the rest have done to me? Will that be back to bite me later? After all, “Don’t you underestimate victims as they lie in wait, cos you can be sure they'll be striking back” Also there is something or someone in 1:59, but I can’t get who that is, what are you cooking in there Lydia? I am super interested! LOVE THE SONG!
I think that passage is about Antonio. He didn't do anything to mirabel. But he's still getting his powers stripped away. Mirabel is regretting it but then.steels her resolve to just... do it.
Меня больше напугало, что всё это она смотрела на свечу. Тоесть, если Мирабель прыгнет, а свече на верху оснется, то она на неё будет продолжать смотреть, что физически она не пострадала
I really like how they were restrained by their own powers here: 5:12 it shows how their powers are burdening them and it just looks amazing- Also amazing vocals throughout the song as usual from Lydia!! ✨
0:58 As a matter of fact, yes 😅 Actually tho, this scene especially is so great (more than the rest of the song itself, I mean)! In part 1, we saw an angry Mirabel who had snapped and was showing everyone just how much harm they did to her. But here, here we are getting an actual villain, especially in this scene, as we see properly all her motives and reasons and resentments. We also get a better look at her disdain for the Madrigals and how little they truly mean to her.
3:53 I like this one because you can see which family members were concerned about the candle and which ones cared/worried about Mirabel. The fact Camilo’s hasn’t really changed much out of the concern. Abuela has this look fixated in fear for the candle. Isabella is frustrated and angry at mirabel. Parents are devastated. Félix is concerned Antonio Is scared Pepa is shocked and Dolores is concerned. Make that as you will.
Mirabel Villain Song Part 2 - Nothing Left to Lose (Lyrics) No, no, no, no Should've talked about Bruno... No one should have this much power, Especially when they Lord it over others I've done you a Favour. The magic was a curse, not a Blessing. I love that Mirabel is often seen comforting her past self. Like I'm sure she had always had done before. Having to comfort herself when no one else could or would
I like that Antonio is the embodiment of what little remorse she has. Perhaps he may even play a part in why she's doing this. She doesn't want Antonio to live in suffocating pressure like she and the rest of her family did. And whereas the first song, her anger and pain was focused on most of the family, in the second song Mirabelle's anger is zeroed in on Alma, being the epicenter of all their pain, not just her pain, but everyone's. Blowing out the candle isn't enough, and she realizes this when Alma reaches for it. Even after Mirabelle's breakdown, Alma still cares more about a candle than her own granddaughter. And so, she's desperate to ensure that all of this was not for nothing, even if she dies on that cliff, she is desperate to ensure that Alma loses the house.
Love that this was mostly set towards Alma, she may not be the villain but she did cause all of this to happen by pushing her family to their limits until one, or if you include the other encanto villain songs then several of them, to snap and burn everything around them.
I like the idea that Mirabel could’ve totally just tossed the candle to break it at any time but chose to do it at the top of the mountain just to be dramatic
My girl Mirabel just wants to be loved 🥺

The butterfly getting burned by the candle is a genius illustration of Mirabel getting burned by the family
Right???
She tries to feel the light and warmth they give off, but getting too close burns her
I always read the butterfly as being an image symbolic of love itself. The romance song is about how two people (butterflies) came together, but had to part, then at the end Mirabel found the butterfly at the creek when she and her grandmother had their talk and the love was rekindled between them. In this case, it is the love that should have been getting burned in Grandmother's fire.
@@catlinmarie OMG that's a GREAT interpretation!!! I never saw it that way. Gotta see the movie again!!!

Bruno at 3:49 is a genius moment. Just like in canon in the movie it was portrayed that he didn’t know if Mirabel would safe or destroy the House. And here in this Reality she destroyed it

"Not when you're selling your son's and daughters" THAT LINE HIT HARD
In fact. They sold Isabella to another important family in the city. As monarchs did for power and territory. Truly a vile act on the part of the family.
@@_-..Eva..-_913 yeah Isabela was stuck being perfect and don't even dare to anything else if Mirabel wasn't there
This reminds of a line from a song called Blood In The Water.
I don't think this makes any sense but you get what I mean yeah?

Until Antonio got his gift, Mirabel was the one to effectively raise him. It wasn't until he got his gift of being able to talk to & understand animals that the rest of the family (most of all Abuela) actually gave enough attention to him.
"I AM GOING TO BURN DOWN THIS VILLAGE"
"Do you wanna make a snowman :D"
That is totally true. I mean, her parents and sisters care about Mirabel. I dunno why they did this.
@@queenwishieluck1359 I don't know, sure Luisa loved her but Isabela treated her like shit for a really long time
@@Liam_Phoenix Agreed. They only see how good the other have it, because she has what the other can't have)
In the previous song, Camillo was the only one who seemed to try to reach for Mira rather than the candle, likely because they are the same age and he feels closer to her than his siblings on this point, just like she may have compared to her perfect oldest sister who hates her or her older sister that is made to run across the village for everyone.
Julieta did her best to raise her well, but it’s generational trauma isn’t it? She fell into some traps abuela did, though not nearly as many.
When I had read this I started thinking if Mirabel and Bruno were Villains they would be the best Duo
The scariest part of this is that Mirabel was actually spitting facts
Ya
Ya know this was the other way Bruno’s vision could have gone.
like literally everyone treated her like shit bro 😭 what did you expect
All cause she didn't have a gift like everyone else
I couldn't be in more agreement!
Abuela was literally ignoring and treating Mirabel horribly, you have no idea how many nerves that granny cracked out of me! Mirabel is also right, abuela doesn't deserve an apology and all of this is literal Karma!
I love how Mirabel remembers Antonio and how he was innocent. Makes her feel closer to her canon self
I feel like out of everyone else. She felt the guiltiest taking his gift away because 1. he is a kid and didn't do anything wrong, 2. Antonio loves her so much and vice versa. That it had to hurt to actually take his gift away
I really liked the part where Bruno was watching what happened. It will be a sign that the third part of Mirabel is going to do something for her.

@@SiriusGalilei yeah I agree with you ✨ 💯
The hate/love thing also works well with other characters from different media and the main one that I think works well is Optimus Prime and Megatron (Mainly Transformers Prime one) Optimus didn't wish to terminate Megatron's spark and hopes to change his mind while Megatron (I believe) wants his old friendship that he had back (Optimus said that the two of them were like brothers so that can hit hard if anyone felt that way [which would be worse if they were blood related too]) and plus our John Brown (watched Extra History for this) actually says that "peace to slavery was not possible and answer to this was immediate and total.
Even if didn’t do enough.😢

Mirabel and Bruno had literally EVERY RIGHT to turn into the single best villain duo. Awesome yet terrifying. The movie would've gotten a lot more fame if Disney let Mirabel go the villain route.
That's anime memo.

A narcissists worst nightmare is a dark empath. There’s a big difference between not having empathy, and having it but turning it off.

Oh God! That's genius!!🤩
that brilliant
And the artist could draw dozens of princesses silhouettes in the background as a placeholder recton for the many more Disney Princess Disney will make and Lydia would make into villains
THIS IS SUCH A GOOD DIEA I LOVE IT!
I love the idea 😍🤩
Seeing Mirabel as a badass villain queen is EVERYTHING I ALWAYS WANTED SINCE I SAW THE MOVIE.
being worth less than a candle???? BULLSHIT.
GO OFF MIRA
(okay I know she's more desperate and depressed than a villain queen but shhh I love her regardless she can do no wrong)
The fact that Mirabel felt left out FROM HER IMMEDIATE FAMILY. Is just plain sad. She just shoved her mom aside like “Too late.”
2:51 that is such a chilling scene. I dont know why but seeing the family as just dolls is really creepy, especially with Mirabel and her unhinged mannerisms. A very cool scene
2:19
I love this detail of Dolores trying to get used to not being able to hear where people are without her powers...then she makes a face at (2:20) of something along the lines of 'Oh..I forgot..They're gone.'
It just makes me so happy to see such small details!!!
Great work.
I like how Mirabel and Bruno mirror each other when staring at mountain with one hand on the tree. Shows how alike they are
The fact that the candle was Alma and Pedro's unity candle from their wedding and is one of the few things Abuela had of her old life & husband adds to the pain. Mirabel finally was able to inflicted the same pain Abuela put her through for so many years but targeting the one thing that was most important, in more ways than one.
1:53 looks and sounds kind of when mirabel helps Dolores in her villain song
Omg yes!
For personal reasons, I love how this song shows why we need to love our family members EQUALLY!!! It really shouldn’t be so hard.
That would be amazing!
@@Anne_Drawingsnow THAT is what I’d like to see
I'd also be down for one for Ralph, who's ready to *_actually_* wreck it.
Truth is, Mirabel should've cut contact with her family. Someone who treats you as less and literally forgets you in family pictures doesn't love you the way you should be loved. Sometimes, blood can't make a family and many times, family doesn't need blood to be true.
Something I feel like I forget a lot of times
Ngl dollores probably would have helped Maribel kill the magic if she asked her to.
I 100% agree
Now that’s a good song idea
@@Thepiemasster I think Lydia did a villain song for Dolores, but I'm not sure if Mirabel was"with" her on that.

I think Disney is too much of a coward to do so... The closest I can think of is Megamind.
...Flynn Rider maybe?
@@AuDHD_Teen He was the aforementioned jerk. I put that in parenthesis for him specifically, lol.
Loki def is one- but thats marvel ;w;"
@@mpgamer3292 Yeah, whenever I say "Disney," I mean "Walt Disney Animation Studios," not other studios they own.
The line that hit me most personal was: Don't underestimate
Victims that lie and wait
They'll be sure to strike back.
Snake in the grass imagery
I like how parts of the song have Mirabel question her actions, like she's having a moment of post-rage clarity.
My new favorite song. literally, "winning isn't enough. I'll make you suffer as I suffered" awesome work, lydia
Queen Amaya's Villain Song
Amaya has the most reasonable reason to become a villain, she sees the man she loves become corrupted by magic and straight up turns into a complete madman. Her Villain Origin can take place either after King Magnifico's descent into madness or at the end of the film since she'd have access to everything in his Dungeon.
Yes I like your idea 😊 ❤❤
Even better her villain song can have a reprise of her solo in Knowing what I know now.
I haven't seen wish (for obvious reasons)
But I heard she was originally supposed to be a villian and her and Magnifico were supposed to be a villian couple.
I luv that idea

I’ve said this before between this and Moana’s villain song it’s actually pretty satisfying in these AUs of Mirabel and Moana calling out their families for their hubris.

@@carolinedisalvatore9768 yeah I agree with you ✨ 💯
@@stefaniarusso You do? How and why?
@@carolinedisalvatore9768 maybe mirabel and Moana are related
This is so terrifying
There’s short sharp breaths in between lyrics with no space for anyone to take a second
It’s like the words are toppling over one another
Mirabel isn’t giving her grandmother a second to talk against her
I really feel sorry for Mirabell.
When I think about another part of Encanto (If it comes out), I hope that Mirabel will discover an alternative way to use the magic that her family has, like classic magic.
Yeah I agree with you ✨ 💯
The implication is it's a divine miracle. That's why their powers are Gifts. It's given to them.
This is so good!! It genuinely needs a part 3!!! Also im so glad Bruno wasn't dead after all, i seriously thought he would be after the first video!!!
This is so hype!
(Honestly, with the way she was treated she should be a villain)
Haha, I love it👏👏👏
The movie reminded me of my own life of trying to fit into the family... this song reminds me of my own path now...
It was beautiful
“Have i brought on a new contender?”
God that is amazing, if I am interpreting this one right, Mirabel is actually thinking that she may have completely ruined Antonio’s life. His new gift that he was so happy of, taken away from him almost immediately after, despite him not doing anything to Mirabel.
For one second she asked herself, have I made another villain? Did I ruin his life so bad, just like the rest have done to me? Will that be back to bite me later?
After all, “Don’t you underestimate victims as they lie in wait, cos you can be sure they'll be striking back”
Also there is something or someone in 1:59, but I can’t get who that is, what are you cooking in there Lydia? I am super interested! LOVE THE SONG!
I'm thinking that could be Pedro Madrigal, or Abuela Alma Madrigal's late husband.
@@riverriver9677 He might be yeah, but the clothes don’t seem to be the same with the ones Pedro wore. I am in a loop with this one.
I think that passage is about Antonio. He didn't do anything to mirabel. But he's still getting his powers stripped away. Mirabel is regretting it but then.steels her resolve to just... do it.
I was so scared she was gonna jump to prove a point ;-; but then I saw the candle reflected in abuela's eyes and realized, oh! Okay.
Меня больше напугало, что всё это она смотрела на свечу. Тоесть, если Мирабель прыгнет, а свече на верху оснется, то она на неё будет продолжать смотреть, что физически она не пострадала

0:58 As a matter of fact, yes 😅
Actually tho, this scene especially is so great (more than the rest of the song itself, I mean)!

I like this one because you can see which family members were concerned about the candle and which ones cared/worried about Mirabel.
The fact Camilo’s hasn’t really changed much out of the concern.
Abuela has this look fixated in fear for the candle.
Isabella is frustrated and angry at mirabel.
Parents are devastated.
Félix is concerned
Antonio Is scared
Pepa is shocked and Dolores is concerned.

Mirabel Villain Song Part 2 - Nothing Left to Lose (Lyrics)
No, no, no, no
Should've talked about Bruno...
No one should have this much power,
Especially when they Lord it over others
I've done you a Favour.
The magic was a curse, not a Blessing.
But you'd still manipulate your Family and do anything to get it Back, wouldn't you?
Who do you think you are, gambling with lives again
Kids up for auction to sate your dumb greed
Who do you think you are, come to petition Hearts
The chips are Down so you beg on your knees
Who do you think you are, lost all you're living for
Surely you see all the harm it brought us
Who do you think you are Family means Nothing now
Not when you're selling your sons and Daughters
And I've bet all I have
To See this house Collapse
So are you feeling Scared now
Feel that sweat on your brow
Now you know
I have nothing left to lose
Changing your tune
"Oh, we're so proud of you"
Didn't you hear
You're no longer what I choose
Don't you underestimate
Victims as they lie in wait
Cos you can be sure they'll be striking back
Bets are placed and I'm all in
Sure they say the House will win but
With everything I've been though
You'll learn to fear the one with nothing left to lose
No one left for me
No one to hold on to
but in Truth really was there ever?
Do I regret my Choice?
Did I forget myself?
Have I brought on a new contender?
No I won't doubt myself
Not when the Die is Cast
The fates have spoken out their conclusion
But did I have a Choice?
Is free will truly mine?
Is my freedom all an illusion?
And I've bet all I have
To see this house Collapse
So are you feeling Scared now
Feel that sweat on your brow
Now you know
I have nothing left to lose
Changing your tune
"Oh, we're so proud of you"
Didn't you hear

Cos you can be sure they'll be striking back
Bets are placed and I'm all in
Sure they say the House will win but
With everything I've been though
You'll learn to fear the one with nothing left to lose
Spent my every day
Trying to Play your Game
To appease and Please you
Eyes filled with disdain
A candle to a Flame
That I must live up to
Your love wasn't real
A fake and petty play to manipulate us
Naming your failing s but don't believe a Word you're saying
Give me one reason why
I should give up the fight
Cos if I let you Win
Then all of this will be for nothing
And we'll go back to the Hell we were in
So are you feeling Scared now
Feel that sweat on your brow
Now you know
I have nothing left to lose
Changing your tune
"Oh, we're so proud of you"
Didn't you hear
You're no longer what I choose
Don't you underestimate
Victims as they lie in wait
Cos you can be sure they'll be striking back
Bets are placed and I'm all in
Sure they say the House will win but
With everything I've been though
You're learn to fear the one with nothing left to lose.

I love that Mirabel is often seen comforting her past self. Like I'm sure she had always had done before. Having to comfort herself when no one else could or would
Mirabel didn't deserve this pain, justice for her!
The beginning made an immediate “ding” go off in my head that was like, “Lydia needs to be a voice actress, she’s good” 😂❤❤
I like the idea that Mirabel could’ve totally just tossed the candle to break it at any time but chose to do it at the top of the mountain just to be dramatic
