    I was out at your airport last week (service call), and weather was nice.
    This week here, (other side of the mountains) it's 30+ degrees
    Hope you are gettin' your H2O for the heat. Helps you keep from thinking your hand is a hammer 😆

    Bro I wanna do this for mine and I’ve been researching it so I can do the cheapest best lift and apparently people also do land cruiser shocks and springs in the rear and it rides amazing

  • @planemos7

    Watch out for slightly misaligned lower Tundra shock bolt in relation to the upper hat orientation. Mine was slightly off and, although I could twist the shock to get the bolt in, the bushing deteriorated rapidly. Also try Energy Suspension 9.9484G universal bushings for the lower shock mount. I cut mine down on a bench grinder to make the outside diameter fit in the shock eyehole. Urethane can be cut down easily.

    I have a 99 Toyota 4Runner and I put a new rear differential in last year cuz had holes in the housing I had to change the front differential too because it didn't match the Greer gear ratio just make sure the front and rear gear ratio are the same

    I love how people criticize us and the time we spend turning wrenches instead of just buying newer vehicles.
    Then 2022 hyper inflation, ridiculous prices in the vehicle marketplace, thirsty dealerships and unethical repair shops enter the chat

    Out of curiosity, why not go to a tubular upper with a better style ball joint and get rid of those old press in style. Freedom offroad has upper control arms for around 450 usd and also has adjustable coil overs for about 600 usd. I installed them on my 96 tacoma and have put them to the test and they are doing great.

    I've found that the easiest way to compress the spring is to actually mount it in the truck and then use a jack on the lower control arm to compress it/de-compress it. Not possible in your situation since there's not enough weight with no motor, but figured I'd share!

    The tundra mod is cool, wonder if it would work for a taco? As well I know you just polished up your calipers, but considering an entire tundra front end swap with the brake calipers and rotors would be sweet! Extra stopping power and such!
    Glad to see the runner getting polished up it's gonna ride nice, I have to swap 5100s for ome shocks in my taco soon. That diff actuator looked similar to 2nd gen runner as well. Vacuum operated? Did you go with moog bj?
    Glad your still making good yota videos!

    • @planemos7

      It works for my first gen Taco. All you have to do is use your Tacoma top hats on the Tundra coilover shock.

    The diff drop doesn't drop your whole diff by an inch. It lowers one side and effectively lowers your CVs by maybe 1/4". They do hardly jack squat and actually it takes a pretty big lift to actually put enough of a CV angle to matter. Tinkerer's Adventure just did an excellent video showing how the only thing they do is take away a tiny bit of clearance in the front.

    • @DirtGarage
      @DirtGarage  Рік тому +1
