- In this episode of junk bucket garage we see what the cheapest 3 inch lift kit from Amazon looks like on a 97 four runner. I try not to hurt myself but it doesn’t always work out that way. I also want you through a quick and easy air-conditioning system check, and charge. gotta stay cool on these 100 degree days.
Don’t forget to change the lower ball joints there the Achilles tendon on the third GEN also change out your radiator or it will corrupt your transmission cooling lines run through the transmission.
Love this guy and his wife!
we love you to brother !
I love this guy 😂
Glad I found you I love your humor it was great to watch this come together
i’m glad you enjoyed it. thanks for watching ✌️
this post is one of the most informative ways for the job…. Thank you sir…. Hope you have more 3rd gen 4Runner videos coming soon
thanks for watching. i’m always working on something different. i unfortunately traded the 4runner. but i’ll get another one i’m sure 👍
This was enjoyable to watch 😄 . Can't believe I watched the whole hr of this install . That's awesome. You guys are awesome. Definitely helped me on installing my lift kit thanks guys!
glad it helped. thanks for watching
Man I’ve installed 3 of these kits and 2 things I’ve noticed. You don’t have to undo the upper ball joint and I never had to use spring compressors🤷🏼♂️
One 62 Customizing just sent me over, and glad he did.
I hit that button up there to see more to come man!
awsome. he’s a good man. thanks for watching.
Enjoyed the video in Indiana - want to do the same lift on my 98 SR5! Only had it about a year but doing the timing belt and belts and water pump - dodged a bullet - didn’t break but it should have - looked bad but I love my girl !
Yes! congratulations to ya both. The animal cues are always on point!
thank you. the dogs especially think there super stars. 😂
Truck looks awesome. I would like to buy a 80 series or 100. I like how you handle your air ac. Good to see you didn't take bark off. Australia 🇦🇺.
sometimes you just gotta keep it simple and get it done. then hope it works🤣 thanks for watching.
Lower and upper ball joints are a must
Jack under the opposite brake drum helps to torque the axle to get the spring in.
that’s a great idea thanks 😊
He throws the rough country sticker "in the tube" hahaha
I feel your pain man, i also got a 3rd gen 4runner and a tundra 2007, lucky i didnt replace the starter yet.
there so good. but there’s some things that make you wanna kick an engineer. 😂
Cool channel subbed....one 62 customizing sent me.
that’s great to hear. hope you enjoy. 👍
Keep on keeping on!
thanks bubba. appreciate you!
Thank you for the good video, do you have a link for the Amazon lift kit, i wanna check it out for my 2000 4runner

i hope that worked. thanks for watching
Recall on the rear end of the 1997 if they haven’t been done? Toyota did mine for free
Why didn’t you just replace the front strut assembly?
just being cheap.
I have question my toyota 4runner fall on left front side for like 2 inch do you know why?
if all the ball joints are good i’d think a spring has failed. inspection using both sides for comparison should find something. good luck. thanks for watching
How did you address the rear driver side sag? I installed this exact kit, my driver side has about a 7/8 inch sag , very noticeable
i was fortunate to not have this happen. i guess it’s from the gas tanks wieght on that side. before going to deep, maybe try swapping the springs side to side? i know some sping kits have two different weights of spring just for this. good luck.
thanks for watching
Where can I get one of those red, white and blue hats?
i’m gonna get some more hats made. when i do i’ll let u know. 👍 thanks for watching
I have a 2001 Toyota 4runner Sr5 2wd and would like to lift it 2 inches. Will this Rough Country lift work on a 2wd as well?
i don’t think so. but if you look it up it should tell you. good luck. thanks for watching
@@junkbucketgarage I tried looking it up and theres no clarification if the 4wd interchanges with 2wd. Thats why I was asking if you knew.
oh okay. that’s weird. i don’t want to give you the wrong information and i just don’t know. i’ll try to look into it
@@junkbucketgarage how does the Rough Country perform on the roadways? Is it bouncy or rough riding? Still recommend RC lift kit?
i’m very happy with it.
Can the arrows or spheres be damaged with the amigo front sight kit?
Technically it's only 2.5 inch in the front and 3 in the rear. I have the same kit for about 3yrs now and finally upgraded to a true 3inch lift which requires some more parts in the front end.
next time go to youtube university before you do this ,lol
