@@CountLoco-c7r Oh, I understand budgeting & I understand the necessity of prioritizing things as well. I’ve been on camping trips in the summer, esp in SoCal and they can be ugly from the heat. If one is going to build a new camper for use in SoCal & can’t afford AC… I personally wouldn’t build it.
Hey, Chay, I know it might require compromising a mattress and re-building part of the camper, but I feel like a good idea would be a hatch to connect the floors so let's say it's raining and you're making something to eat, you could stay inside the camper and open the hatch to pass items back and forth. Just an idea, I've always been a fan of truck camping and the like, so I always think it's a good idea to have an easy and convenient way to get out of the elements.
The fact that they built this 2 story micro camper in their backyard is insanely good and waterproof. They can literally rent the camper out their friends or relatives and get a lot of money ❤
Looks sick! One thing i would add is a roof rack for a couple of spares and maybe some cargo nets inside. That way, you could leave stuff inside the camper instead of moving it back and forth from the vehicle. One more is maybe a hitch receiver for a cargo tray or bike rack. That way, even if you tow it with a smaller car, it's got a cargo tray for the generator, or whatever else is too big to fit in the vehicle
Right when I saw the shape of the initial trailer, I thought you really want new tires and bearings. Our popup camper bearings failed. It’s pretty scary. You can buy whole hub assemblies on etrailer. It’s super easy to replace them. Cool camper! Great video! Definitely replace the tires and bearings before you sell it.
Not going to lie, wasn’t a big fan of this kind of satisfaction building content however you guys actually make it entertaining and a little bit educational! Definitely deserves a sub
You sgould make the upper deck fold out of the way so you cna sit fully upright, maybe even stand inside if needed Would make hanging out inside much more inviting Could build it with hinges about 12 inches out frorm the non door wall, so the upper mattress, pillows, etc would also fold up on its side Its a cool little build 😊
I love this guy's content, every time he delivers a camper video I'm just so hooked and suddenly all I see is me binge watching trailer building videos
That is awesome. I have a Toyota Corolla and, I do believe that would haul nicely!!! I just would make it one floor so I could stand up. Wish I had your building skills. Great job!
Very educational❣️ I'm preparing to move into a newly delivered garage (portable building) and eventhough it's ready to be hooked up to electricity, it needs to be insulated, paneling installed/walls, etc. I'm glad I found this vid, thanks👍🏼
This was way cooler and way more legit than i was expecting! Really turned out awesome guys! I love how you guys aren't worried about the details and just do it! The vent part made me smile! really liked that.
It's worth it just for the great smell I'm sure. Personally I'd take a tent over this type of thing with the exception of if it has a great (and safe) heater for when the weather dips below 30. Really fun regardless though. I do like that it shows how minimalist this can be vs needing some massive truck to haul a massive camper.
You could definitely attach some shelves to the outside of the trailer, just with some eye hooks. Then attach a big tarp, so you can set up an outdoor lounge area.
At about 5:40, it looks like a massive loaf of bread. The tyre probably blew as you were towing under load (someone in the camper). It's HIGHLY illegal to have anyone in a camper while towing in the uk. I remember someone towing a caravan on the motorway and they had their KIDS in there, pulling faces at cars, mooning etc. I passed them and their back seat was crammed (obviously thought more of possessions than their kids). They passed me again. A bit further up the road, a police car appeared, and they got stopped. I passed them again and they looked like they got a serious bollocking. You can get fined £££££ , lose your licence, or even jail time as it's classed as reckless endangerment
I saw another builder use metal strapping as cross-beams on a bike camper build once and it worked so well and weighed so little. Definitely that knowledge forward in case I ever need it. Would be much stronger than thin plywood. Just starting the video but so far it looks fun!
Nice but perhaps not a good idea to cheap out with the tires? That kind of thing can be dangerous... Cool build, though it looks more like a really small trailer rather than a micro camper.
Some UA-camrs make vehicles comparable to this (“ I transformed a chicken hut into a driving tiny house”) and that after the video is created they sell it. But it’s beautiful to see that you use it for a big event and I bet you’ll use it more than twice 😅 happy time together Chay and Kelsey
i thought this would be like another faze rug type "diy" thing where they go to home depot and nail some plywood together, but this is something man! this is great!

That looks so cool. Well done to these brothers. It is great when you are young. I had a good laugh when your brother drove and you were at the back. Just what brothers would do. Well done.🎉🎉
A "camper" implies some sort of amenities. If you watch Topgear, whenever they do these sorts of 'camper" mods, they always try to integrate a form of cooking or meal prep facility, a shower, and place to use the restroom. Basic necessities. This is basically a 1000lb 2 person tent with AC.
I have never seen a flat tire change by lifting the vehicle. Hahaha 🤣. I was amazed that you didn't have more damage with a shredded rim, but it must have been the light weight that kept it "afloat". One of the more entertaining build videos I have seen . Glad nobody died.
I like the build, but it wouldn't be allowed on the roads in the uk without lights on the back and a copy of the vehicles licence plate. You'd also need extended wing mirrors to compensate for the loss of the rear view mirror as well as a camera. Another thing I've noticed is that you don't have extendable feet on the corners of the trailer to lift it up and stabilise it once it's not in transit. It does look like fun though
