    A lot has changed since my first morning routine video. Watch it here: • Minimalist Morning Rou... So I wanted to film an updated version for you that are also new moms or just have limited time in the morning. I want to preface that this is definitely my ideal morning routine as it happens three or four times a week, realistically a lot of times things go off-course. But I do like to share and I talk about this a lot in my prenatal course that your baby or your toddles shares your aura, your electromagnetic field, for the first three years of his/her life so it's incredibly important to set up your own energy at the beginning of the day to practice self-care. Your morning is the most powerful time to set your energy and mood for the rest of the day whether you have kids or not. So in this video I'm going to be sharing the tips, tricks and products that I've used to really hack my morning routine in the hopes that some of this can be helpful to you as well!

    I agree with getting outside soon after waking up! I take my coffee and go earthing in my backyard(barefoot walking on earth) and just try to cultivate a sense of wonder and presence for the day! Only takes a few minutes but the effects last all day!

    These are really great suggestions for moms with young kids. When you said that our children our connected to our energy the first few years of their lives, I understood why my 2nd born child was such a stressful baby. Because I was so stressed. I was not taking care of my self! Now I have another baby, and I really look forward to using this tips thank you! 🌞

    Awesome ☀️ My baby is 7 months old and I agree with starting the day right. My energy always spills over to her. Started doing short yoga sessions every morning and realised she actually loves it too! Crawls all over my mat & much happier throughout the day! She doesn't nap long enough for meditation in the morning but I do that at night and it's been truly life changing!!

    🌞3 kids later I'm still trying to get my morning routine to stick especially since I'm a vata and very scatter brained and flighty. A few things that I really love are oil pulling as soon as I wake up, brush my teeth and scrape my tongue. I chug some water before I have a cup of coffee and try to at least sit outside without my phone until I have finished it. Usually my children are awake and it becomes chaos so I try to get them settled so I can get yoga in and eat something before I forget and realize I'm hungry at noon. My 5 and 3 year old are a handful and now I have a 6 mth old plus I get overwhelmed easily so I'm doing my best to wake up earlier to get everything I need for me done before the kiddos done🌞

    I have grown to love mornings! The biggest changes that led to that were: finding the ideal time to wake up (the one where you are energized and happy, not groggy or grumpy!) and establishing a routine. I think it matters less what you do in that routine than just having a routine -- repetition breeds simplicity and efficiency (time win!) but also a sense of ritual and specialness which keeps me calm. ❤️☀️🌞

    I have so much resistance to a morning routine even though I know it is essential to a happy life for me. Watching your video has made me realise that you can just do a little. my baby is now 6 and I still have not got a solid morning routine - I am going for it after watching this. My sister has just had a baby out of the blue at 50 years old, so I am sending her your video.

    That’s so sweet, had no idea about electromagnetic field between mother and child 💕 Getting outside always made me feel so much more motivated to get things done earlier! I need to start doing that again. Also interested in knowing more about tongue scraping. I am reading an ayurveda book starting tomorrow, much needed in my life right now and I’m excited to learn!     I did some of these this morning: Baby Pose, down dog, cobra pose, and two minutes of meditation with deeps breaths. I was so fresh and ready to go to work. This does not mean that I will miss my today's supersculpt class which I usually attend at lunch time :) Good luck to everybody. Stay fit and eat healthy

    I would put a sun emoji but I'm on my computer lol. I'm so glad I found your channel! Since having our son (Ronan) 5 and a half months ago we have been so stressed and run down, but Im going to incorporate some of your suggestions for a healthier day. I ordered some tongue scrappers and the mushroom coffee, and I think this will help with my autoimmune disease (e.d.s.) so I'm really excited to see how I feel. The last few mornings I put this video on to remind me of what I need to do in order to have a calmer day and make a new habit. Even my husband was recharged from watching this with me this morning so thank you for that! Keep making videos for moms please! :)

    Love you, Brett!! I have been following you for a while now!!! I have 3 kids- and I’m pregnant with my 4th!!! Your morning routine looks Soooo much MORE peaceful and Self-nourishing, compared to mine!!!! 🙌🏼 I just Wish I had such a vital piece of my day, to “myself”…!!! Love my kids, but I’m in constant/chronic pain and I also have trouble breathing 😮‍💨, so a meditation/yoga practice-/fresh air are soo essential for me!!

    Thanks for the white noise machine tip! I bought the one you recommended plus the same brand, but the more expensive one. My baby sleeps longer during naps and I don't have to keep shushing my other kids. You rock!

    Your videos have certainly changed my life for sure! While I'm not a mom yet. I am a Pre-K teacher and I have really seen a difference in how the kids react to me on the mornings I do yoga! I've always believed kids are more sensitive to people's energies and on mornings where I've done yoga one of your morning routines (or even simple stretches) the kids are happier, listen better and are more determined to have a better day whether they realize it or not 🌞

    Usually, when school is in, I get up by 6, change and get on my mat for at least a 15 minute UA-cam yoga flow, crack the whip on my kids, so they can get going, send them off to school, have a breakfast of eggs and spinach, then off to work.
    Right now, I've badly injured my adductor magnus and hamstring so I'm just trying to rest it. Can't do much at all and it's hard. Need to do more meditation instead, but couldn't even sit on a chair until yesterday for longer than a few minutes without discomfort or pain. But, yesterday, I was able to sit and work on reading and taking notes, getting a head start on the YTT with Inside the Yoga Sutras! So excited to be able to sit again!

    Thank you for sharing, this routine looks idyllic! I always wake up early for a quick practice and meditation, but now that my son is 3, he often wakes up and pounces on me during down dog 😂 I miss morning baby walks, toddler-dom is such a different ride.     I've noticed such a huge difference on days when I get outside for a walk or jog first thing in the AM! I keep hearing about this mushroom coffee/tea/cocoa, I'll have to check it out!

    Hi Brett, I've been tuning in to you for awhile now, but my life has been a mess with several events that make me cry often. I want to do the yoga, but I get so dejected and depressed that I have a hard time caring about anything. I'm older and single now and pretty much alone in the summer. During school year I teach elementary PE and love that. I hope I can try the morning yoga poses and or the outside first thing routine. Pretty hot now where I am, but earlier is better for that. Alex is beautiful like his mommy.

    🌞 First thing I'll have 2 glasses of water, do a breakfast prep, do my yoga practice (sometimes followed by a short meditation), then have breakfast with my family and my day is off. Due to our schedule, apart from hanging laundry, mostly I'll only really get outside during/after lunch, doing my longer walks when they are at their sports trainings.
    The mushroom drinks sounds very interesting Brett 😊

    Hi Brett! I've been following your yoga classes for a long time and your classes by far are the most inspiring I have found. I love the mommy and me class.
    I'm a preschool teacher and we practice yoga weekly but just basic moves I've thrown together. I haven't found a simple yoga video yet that would really draw them in. Would you consider doing a 10minute sequence directed at preschool or young age?

    🌞🌞 Thanks for the tips brett. I work so early and get to bed so late that its hard for me to get a consistent routine. But on days I'm off I try my best to get my green tea and yoga in before little man wakes up.
    I've been wanting to try foursigmatic for a while and I'm hoping with my next payday I can get some! I'm definitely going to take your going outside tip. The baby loves to go out in the morning and it'll be so good for both of us to do it more consistently!

    I love starting my morning with 10-12oz of water IMMEDIATELY after I wake up and rinse my mouth out. (Love the tongue scaping idea too!) My favorite vegan oatmeal recipe includes organic oats, soy milk, quinoa, chia seeds, apples, bananas and blueberries with a touch of organic maple syrup for sweetness. This recipe is also a hit with my 7 and 3 year old! My nutrition packed morning beverage is always a spinach/kale/pineapple/banana smoothie made with ice cold water. We try to get outdoors early in the morning to experience nature and sometimes we just don’t make it outside before the heat wave arrives. #goals ☀️

    I had a baby around the same time. I also work form home and have been feeling overwhelmed and not as productive as I could.
    I am definitely going to implement some of these suggestions (specifically getting outside before my work day begins and I’m staring at a computer). I also love the reminder that even if you start work a little later if your more focus you’ll be more productive. I need these reminders this week!

    ☀️ I follow one of your under 20 minutes videos every morning, fix my morning drink and then watch TedX or motivational videos on UA-cam as I get ready for work. Once my 2 year old gets up, we watch/listen/dance to music. Her favorite is the Shakira song from Zootopia ❤️

    I get up, do some Yoga and then I always write down 3 questions: 1. How are you feeling? 2. What are you grateful for? 3. What do you want to accomplish today?

    My ideal morning includes tea, meditation, a walk outside with my pup and asana practice - usually in that order. I couldn't agree more that even if it is short, getting outside first thing in the morning (even on the rainy or snowy days here in the Northeast) helps start your day grounded. My pranayama and asana practice starts slowly, with some favorite peak pose being something to stretch my hamstrings, hip flexors. I recently added journaling or doing at least one creative writing prompt in the morning and found this shift profound in supporting staying present in what can otherwise be a hectic work day. A friend have given me a sample of Four Sigmatic a while ago and your video reminded me to try it. I just placed an order for the sampler but the Latte is out of stock. Bummer!

    ☀️ I love this. I wish when both my kids were younger I took time in the morning for self care. I think it would have improved those hectic times. Now I love to make a cup of tea once I get my kids breakfast and just quietly breathe while enjoying it.

    Going to have to try the mushroom coffee!! 🌞 I have adopted a early morning routine getting up @430 first thing I do is yoga and then meditation and read a chapter of a book (currently reading " Miracles now" by Gabrielle Bernstein) I then prep lunch for the day and make myself a bulletproof coconut coffee. Then I sit outside during summer breaks and enjoy reading. Then I start my day.

    ☀️ My perfect day starts with water and yoga. I drink lots of water in the morning and I have to go to the mat before I do anything else because otherwise I cannot move 🤣. On an ideal day I also have time for a short meditation before the kids get up. I love your videos and how your energy streams out of my cellphone right into my life 🤗😊

    Thanks for this post Brett! I am up at 5:00 every morning - yep, one of those annoying morning people. Drink water with lemon to hydrate and then a cup of coffee or tea. I keep my mat rolled out for child’s pose, cat/cow and my favorite … downward facing dog☀️
    Breakfast has been the same for the past 5 years …. smoothie made with berries, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach/kale, ginger and turmeric root, cinnamon, flax and/or chia seeds and 1/2 water and unsweetened almond or soy milk.
    Alex is so cute!

    I just found your UA-cam channel because of Sarah Beth Yoga! I’m inspired by your morning routine. I have a 2 year old and 4 month old, and I am trying to develop a better routine to start our day well. This video gives me inspiration and hope!     I'm awake every morning at 5.15a, and enjoy a warm cup of lemon water upon waking. Then followed with meditation.
    My daughter is up by 7, so it's plenty of me time prior. ☺ Breakfast, and a morning walk are apart of our morning.

      5:15am #impressed!!!!! I've been doing lime water instead of lemon...more on that in a future video. It totally depends on your dosha and climate which is best apparently!

    I have to leave for work early as I have a 45 min commute, but I’m looking to start a strong morning routine this summer (I’m a teacher so I am blessed with a flexible summer) and then transform it into a shorter manageable morning routine by the time school is in full swing again. I’m very curious about the Four Sigmatic products as I get chronic multisymptom headaches and am trying some of the other ingredients. I’m intrigued by the ability of the mushrooms to regulate.     Thank you so much for sharing your favorite morning routine! I love how the first thing you do is get outside and get moving, even if for a quick jaunt around the block, and of course, after you have taken care of Alex (so precious!)! I too, feel better after getting some fresh air, and after watching this video, will not feel guilty for not doing yoga or meditation first thing! I love to do some stretches, but nothing too intense when I first wake up, but often reach for the coffee or warm beverage (I too love shrooms! 🍄🍄🍄)before doing anything, then feel like my morning is shot if I linger too long and run out of time for yoga/meditation/fitness. Sometimes I journal while enjoying my morning beverage because I feel too groggy to write first thing (I like to do morning pages.) You have inspired me to shake things up and try something different! I will start tomorrow with a quick walk or jog around the block (probably with the dogs), make my morning beverage, journal, then do my yoga and meditation practice (I love your simple sequence here). Then if time permits, do more of my fitness work (I'm a runner and do HIIT and strength training), and be energized but grounded to take on the rest of the day!!! Thanks and Namaste! 🌞🌞🌞

    ☀️ beautiful video!!! My mourning routine has changed quite a bit lately, since my girls seem to wake up exactly when I do, no matter the time! So most days, we go downstairs together, and I get their breakfast squared away. We sit for a while and have some family time. Then when my husband wakes up a bit later, I go to my yoga room and practice Kundalini meditation, pull Goddess and Oracle cards, journal a bit, gratitude list, and write out my intentions - everything goes into my Uplifted Journal! Sometimes I’ll practice some gentle stretching, but if I’m teaching that day, I usually wait until I’m in studio prepping early for class and get a little asana practice in that way (most of my classes are in the morning, or right at noon!). It doesn’t always flow together seamlessly like that, and I know I’m missing breakfast (need to fix that pronto!), but it’s working for now☺️ Ideally, I would wake up super early, like 430 or 5, and have really peaceful and slow morning alone time and practices. Sometimes it happens! But mostly, I try to fit in as much as I can between providing for the needs of my kids. I can usually fit in a good hour of time to settle down and tune in before it’s time to get dressed and ready for the day, and right now, that’s okay!❤️

Right now, I’m on day 32 of the Gyan Chakra Kriya, but normally, I do Kirtan - it gets me into such a deep meditative state that I just sit afterword for however long I feel like and can often times talk to my guides and animals, receive downloads, or just go completely blank! Pretty awesome!!!
