Raleigh needs an amusement park, and a major league soccer team. It wouldn’t hurt if they pursue an expansion pro basketball team, or just try and lure the Hornets from Charlotte since they are not winning there.
Raleigh is not getting the Hornets. The city of Charlotte recently revealed an agreement with the team to upgrade the Spectrum Arena and develop a multi-use practice facility. Creating a downtown that incorporates an entertainment hub that has an appeal should be a considered objective. Raleigh should look at Charlotte -- having too many Section 8 baby mamas and BeBe kids brings CRIME from the Pookies and Ray-Rays who come with that population. Avoid that scenario and you avoid the problems that come along with it and Raleigh will continue to be a desirable place to live.
@@BLKShadow I've heard from people who have bought million dollar condos with pools on the roof downtown and fancy gentrified houses all for the ability to be able to walk to restaurants and nightlife but they're afraid to leave their fancy abodes at night for fear of being robbed or worse. We lived in a great community called Hedingham which is five miles from downtown closer to Knightdale and we got a ton of renters who were displaced for the rich people and this happened in several communities in the burbs. I've sat next to those baby mamas getting high priced manicures and pedicures bragging about how they have all this money to spend so until we stop paying them to reproduce and rich people stop ignoring the issue, the problems will never get solved.
@@debra2700 Unfortunately for the rest of us, Uncle Sam isn't going to stop paying for their needing and breeding. Coming from a metropolis it is easy to recognize unchecked growth and development that appears to be directionless and alienating to the native population. In the past year I’ve witnessed several downtown projects nearly grind to a halt in construction. That’s never a good sign. I find it extremely difficult to believe there is enough of an economic draw for people to move here for work that isn’t quite as plentiful (in many sectors) as what is advertised. The prices are gaining traction on much more robust cities in terms of core amenities, retail (which the area sadly lacks), entertainment or a key natural feature. While, the people who made Raleigh interesting on any level are forced out, crime is escalating. If people really believe that Apple (for instance) will honor their agreements and staff to the capacity they promised, they’re crazy. It will never happen. Major companies are shrinking not expanding. Raleigh residents will be left with a shitshow of empty projects and exceedingly high taxes. That’s about it.
@@Motherofwolves23456 Well, to your point about the growth, some people are desperate to get into the city. They’ll fill those units regardless of how it looks. The market for renters is 🗑️.
I would love to see legitimate occupancy stats. Do you happen to know what the current and projected numbers of apartments is? My guess is there will be a glut of empty overpriced units.

Glad to see this city grow
Raleigh was one of my top 10 places to move, not looking for heavy traffic and crime
The city grows too slow for me. Most of the growth seems like Housing in the suburbs. *boring*
Raleigh is like that good looking plate of food that's missing some ingredients. Has alot of potential but, with all the growth it's still boring.
Not a fan of the growth direction. I think they’re ruining this city.
What makes you say this?

Who do you think really wants to live in that hideous complex below Boylan Heights or the 40 story eyesore they are building above Dix?
No one.
