7 New Developing Neighborhoods Near Raleigh You Must Know
Raleigh is actually quite boring. It has all the negative qualities of the rude impatient North, but also the phoniness and the insincerity of the South.
The DPS is lacking
How much?tks
Whats a good rural area outside of raleigh especially if you have to drive there.for work
Depends, how far from of a commute to and from Raleigh are you comfortable with?
Prob no more then around 40
A good starting point can be looking into; Clayton, Fuquay Varina, and Angier. If you’d like more specific information or begin creating a plan to relocate feel free to reach out to me at info@livinginraleighnc.com
Who is the builder of the home(s) you provided tours online? Are other builders in this development?
Dream Finders Homes is the builder in this community. If you want a list of other builders in the area and where they are building reach out to me via email.
Hi, what is the property tax rate for Durham or Raliegh?

I like Raleigh because it reminded me of the city I grew where I grew up. I found the downtown area almost depressing because there wasn’t much going on. You have to go anywhere outside the downtown area for shopping and everything else.
I'll be relocating from Houston, TX area so traffic will be nothing. What is the area like for single females in their 40's?
You’re cooked anywhere you go
I plan to move to Raleigh in Dec 2024, starting out renting first, until I feel this will be home 🏡 for us. Please provide the best management property if possible.
Good video good tips 💪🏽
Appreciate it. Hope it gave you another perspective. Share with anyone you think may need to hear this.
hey, thanks for the tips and really good video. Just as recommendation, I believe the white background don't help with the video, maybe a light color in your background could make it better. Of course, that's only aesthetical and the important part its the context which its great. Good luck.
Thanks for the tip!
Clear your sound ! If you start your video with bad sound, won’t get people to stay! Not sure how good is your mic but even the best mic needs to be adjusted (I have a $500 mic and run through the same issue). If you talk too loud, talk less loud, sometimes putting it further away from you helps. Sometimes clear it with AI sound tools or professional tools. Good luck
Thank you for the feedback.
I immediately stopped watching because of the sound. I honestly thought this video was more than 8 years old just on how it sounds.
More than 8 yrs old? 😂✌🏾 Hope there’s a better video out there for ya

I wonder about sport teams
Did Apple put that campus on hold?
I know NC is considered "south" but Raleigh is more mid-Atlantic.
Do you know anybody looking to rent in Durham?
Not at this current moment. Do you have rental properties you need help with?
Yes I do. Send contact
Thank you for this, I’m moving soon and this was helpful!
Does Durham have too many people from NJ, NY and Philadelphia?
I'm moving down there next year from nj

Wake Forest is a great place to raise a family!
Knightdale please
What about Knightdale? 🤔
Charlotte is not ahead of Raleigh lol clt is nothing but a big suburb, now atl is a different story but when rdu fully develops it will have much more of a urban feel than clt, 300mi squared and only a small portion of clt is actually city like or posses urban development is a disaster
Maybe in the future Raleigh will be ahead of Charlotte but at the moment in my opinion CLT has RDU beat by a landslide.
@@LivinginRaleighIn what aspects besides sports and population?
Sports and population are huge factors. But let’s consider more entertainment options, better transit system, and we can’t forget about the airport (much larger than RDU)
@@LivinginRaleighnot true lol I’m sorry but clt is dead last in transit for major cities in fact consumer affairs places Raleigh in top 20, you can’t have efficient transit in the most sprawled suburban city in the country and I guess you can give the entertainment edge to clt but I’m willing to bet glenwood is a lot more populated than uptown on Saturday nights
ATL prices are dropping with much more inventory while R.NC prices are going through the roof with small lots.Raleigh is just a large suburb (which I like) but the same can be said for ATL's suburbs. I study home prices for many years b'cus I live overseas and will be returning to the US (retired in 2026). Was thinking about TX but their constructions standards are subpar, their external walls are cardboard. The wife wants a house and the ones she likes in Raleigh are dam near 700K - that ain't gonna happen. Maybe after WWIII, another pandemic, depression, recession, civil war.... we can all afford a house again.
It also depends on WHERE you live in Raleigh, NC and if ya'll can AFFORD it. The good spots are over $350k but most of the time well over $400k. You NEED to have a good paying job in either the tech and healthcare sector, you will not be able to live in Raleigh, NC on your own if you don't have a tech and healthcare job. The minimum wages here in NC is laughable at best. It's a purple state that "leans" Red. This state ain't like New York, California, or Washington state where there's a lot of help with respect to UI benefits, medicaid, and other public assistance. Here you're expected to sink or swim, it is very simple to go homeless in a red state, especially if you're starting out with no skills or work experience due to the livable wages starting out extremely low, and once you're there, it's hard to get out. My advice, it's a good place to live if you already have a career and work experience NOT before.
Thanks for your input. Hopefully someone sees your advice and can use it for their situation.
Think about moving to Durham? Don't
why not? lol
I moved to the Raleigh area a few years ago and I wasn’t ready for the change so I moved back to my home state. I’m shocked people are saying it is so unfriendly. No place is perfect but I experienced so many friendly people while there. I hope to be back within a few years.
Visiting for the 1st time to catch a show. Thx for sharing. Love Duke basketball 🏀
As someone that has been living in Raleigh for three years, I have finally sold my house and as soon as my house on the coast is finished being built in a month or two I’m leaving Raleigh for good. I’m getting into real estate and wanted a fresh start. I moved here from a much larger city, Nashville, Tennessee, and my experience in Raleigh has not been a good one. I can’t speak on everyone else’s experience, but most of the people that I meet and talk to that have moved here also from out of town have the exact same things to say about Raleigh. The people here in Raleigh are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered in my entire life and I used to live in Cleveland and Chicago. It’s like people don’t live in reality here and they would do their best to stab you in the back and keep you down because they’re not accomplishing anything in their lives. Raleigh is very tiny compared to where I’m from and it’s like they want to sell Raleigh as something that is simply not. It’s almost like there paying these data companies to be on the best cities list. I wouldn’t recommend insects to move here. The amount of racism that I have experienced in Raleigh is astounding. Rolly just can’t compete with much larger cities to what it has to offer in reality. It’s so overcrowded with poor infrastructure and it seems poorly ran. It took me three years to make a decent friend in Raleigh on my own due to the lack of genuine people that I am used to even coming from a much larger city. The fake Southern hospitality here is real in Raleigh. It doesn’t have much of an identity and not a lot to do here, but they won’t be able to keep moving here when they can’t even figure their own mess out. It’s like all he wants is tax money to be quite honest. I will say the housing market has slowed down tremendously, but I sold my house in four days so that’s one positive I guess. The food scene in Raleigh is very how can I put this, mediocre. The level of hate in this city is astounding. I’ve owned property in North Raleigh years before actually moving to Raleigh myself so I knew the aspect of visiting but once you live, here is a completely different story. People get so offended when you tell the truth about this place because they don’t want to hear or deal with it I’ve even had a real estate agent go to my personal Instagram page and tell me I was ruining business for him because he made a video about Raleigh and people started telling the truth and he couldn’t handle it and I had to remind him that this is a public platform but anyway. Raleigh has some bad juju on it and it was hard to put my finger on it when I moved here, but I think I hit the right spot.
👋🏾👋🏾 hope the coast turns out to be a better fit
Do you help with apartments too or just houses?
Brewery I'm sold
Do you help with rentals as well? Im looking to move in the area in a few months and would like some insight :)
Grew up in Raleigh, left in '98, and now it's boring af. Raleigh is a capital city that's grown tremendously but wants to maintain some kind of nostalgic small town feel and it's evident in it's branding, PR and politics. No city can be both. Put your big city draws on, and deal with the things that come with growth, or give Charlotte the capitol.
Peace roney just sent you a text
Apex here, this is a great place to live!

Let me tell ya'll somethin' I would NEVER touch D.R. Horton homes with a 10ft pole, their homes are overpriced garbage. If ya'll can't afford a home post 2010 to pre-pandemic on yo own then you'll never, and I mean NEVER be able to afford a home post-pandemic on yo own. You'll need to think outside of the box or hook up with someone to help out with the mortgage. A correction will come soon for the housing market, but it will NEVER be at a point where houses are at or below pre-pandemic prices unless its in the middle of nowhere, the ghetto, or in a county with absurdly high property taxes, home insurance, and HOA fees (yes, I'm lookin' at you Florida).
What did DR Horton do to you? 😂 Also, that’s a stretch to say someone will NEVER be able to afford a home post pandemic. Yes, it may be challenging but I find the lack of knowledge is what hurts most people so I encourage everyone who seeks for homeownership to have great partners, proper guidance and prepare your finances to help with the purchase.
Bravo, I agree with you 100%
$370, 000 is not affordable, do the math. With $74,000 down your mortgage will still be $2500 a month . Plus all the utilities.
Considering the median sale price in Raleigh is $450k as of July 2024, in my opinion $370k is much more affordable.

If you're looking for a piece of country in the Sun move to Raleigh it's a bargain
Raleigh looks like most of America without the extreme weather. All these people buying property will need services
Here's the deal. If you come here and don't want to assimilate, don't bother staying, you'll hate it and won't get along with anyone, including those that moved from where you came from, why, simple if you left because you couldn't afford, stand, or bear with the previous area your brain told you to change you ways. Otherwise, you would've stayed where you are because you brain can handle it and can adjust. I moved here over 30 years ago from up north between the NYC and Philly metros, I just went back, it is still terrible up there and getting worse. Down here, there are changes but, the good thing is that those that are trying to bring the BS northern mentality are either leaving for Florida, good luck or, going back up north.
How does a video like this, help you get business? LOL
Upload a video, then you’ll understand. smh 🤦♂️
Livonia is not good for Black folks. Racist police department. Known for their harsh treatment of Detroit residents.
Be more specific when you say small city such as population
Just out of curiosity, how much of the video did you watch? Because I mentioned the population size of the study which is 65-100k in the video.
Not originally from Durham but went to middle school high school in the 90's. Wild😂
Before moving go spend some time there and see how horrible it is ....also see how much it it to register your vehicle and yearly tag renewal...you will easily pay $600 ro over $700 just to register it....than every year they assess the value of your car and charge you that price you can pay $170 or over $250 just to renue you tags every year...crime is bad 5 people got shot on the Greenway.....they hype this place too much it's not worth it.
What about the gun violence?
