When you view it from a distance, (Especially from Route 440) you can see that North Hills is actually slowly developing it's own Skyline, separate from downtown Raleigh - Which is why its been branded as Midtown, it's almost like it's own city.
Hope I can move here before it gets too overcrowded and demanding. And I’m only a junior in high school currently so I’ve still got university to complete at the same time😣 but at least I’m a close distance, I’m in Richmond Virginia only 2 and a half hours
I must say I’m completely flloorrred! Blown away to say the least. I lived in Raleigh for a very long time and remember north hills mall and when this whole “Midtown” area was nothing but trees. The last time I was there was like 7 years ago at massage envy. We stayed at the Renaissance hotel. All of that across from North hills wasn’t there!! OMG I’m beyond AMAZED
@@zoriya7224 I grew up with it during the 90s, even though looking back it didn't look like much it was a stable in my childhood, I loved the old North Hills mall too.
15:12 in the video was the "WOW" factor for me! The tavern below ground level with what appears to be surrounded by waterfalls on all four sides! North Hills is beyond question a city within a city!😃 Take it from me who has been a resident of Charlotte for 37 years, RALEIGH HAS GOT IT GOING ON! In my opinion, Midtown is what the city of the future should like!😃 Chris Morton, great video! So glad I came across your youtube channel!😃
This area looks amazing. Thank you for putting all of this together. I am starting with Charlotte for my relocation but in my upcoming house hunting trip, I may be swayed to take a day and look at these areas in the North Hills.
Hope you have some money! 1bed Rent in NH is anywhere from 2200-4500 and homes start near a million. You can find some studios to rent for maybe 18 or 19 but that’s as low as they get
The first place I visited in Raleigh on my first visit in 2019 was that park behind Chuy's. And Chuy's is my client and my company printed that yellow banner on their building! :)
As a native New Yorker, this area is very impressive! So far, I've only looked to relocate to the suburbs, but I may have to look at this area! Thanks so much!
I just came to Charlotte for a wedding and compare to Raleigh, Charlotte is miles away. Moving to Charlotte instead shortly as the high prices for Raleigh are driving me away. Raleigh is having high prices like a large city without the benefits of a big city. Most definitely not worth it from someone that has been living now in Raleigh for a full year
I legitimately haven't been to North Hills since before the old mall was torn down in 2003. So I'm definitely wanting to see how much everything has changed in the last 20 years.
@@LivinginRaleighTV If u don't mind me asking, when did the old mall start going downhill? Cause I remember when I was a kid even though I'm sure it was going downhill during it's last 10 years, but it seemed like it had a following from what I remember, it seemed like there was still a lot of business in the old mall. And at the same time is there any kind of pics from the old mall over the years? I vaguely remember anything other than what I can find online.
The new north hills has been there for quite a while now. I’m not sure when it started going down hill, but probably the 2000s. It’s always interesting to hear from people who remember the old mall.
@@LivinginRaleighTV I think it would be cool to show like a tribute to the old mall by having a kiosk of what the old mall and surroundings used to look like, kinda of what they do for other locations by showing old school people what they remember, and also showing the history of the location to the newer generation so that they can appreciate the history, but I don't know if it would be that important, I'm just a huge history and nostalgia buff.
Your videos have inspired me to lay out a plan to leave south Central CA area. The weather is exceptionally wonderful here but in almost every other way it's time to leave. I was wondering are their many rental properties for 3 to 4 bedroom town homes and homes in the surrounding Raleigh suburbs? If yes what are the average rental price and are there long term rentals available? And if possible it would be a tremendous help to know more about the suburban area towns neighborhoods make up, the grocery stores and other interests and services in the area. Thank You.
So glad we were able to help! Yes, you can rent a 3-4 bedroom home and most of them are anywhere from $1400-$2200/month depending on where it's located. It's of course it's going to be more in the expensive areas, and less on the outskirts and some of the surrounding suburbs, so it really depends on what location you choose to live in. We've got a lot of content planned to show more of what the different areas around the Triangle have to offer. Appreciate the feedback, it helps us decide what videos people want to see more of.
Like your videos! I miss things like charm, courtesy and hospitality. My soul is dying here in nyc and trying to figure out a space in Raleigh or surrounding areas where I could settle in now solo. Any particular sections with a lot of nice stores to visit, so I can branch out and learn how to make friends again? :)
"I spend a lot of time eating in North Hills" that's a LOL comment. Thanks for nice informational video. I think you should have expanded your tour to include the area AROUND North Hills up to Wake Forest Rd at least to the Falls of the Neuse intersection AND also down to Costco, Duke Raleigh Hospital. You didn't even mention the whole Quail Hollow residential area on Hardimont Rd. Lots' to see around there, that's lot's of REGULAR, older middle class neighborhoods. They're part of the North Hills scene too !
Not sure what exactly is coming to these particular developments. There was talk about Apple building a campus somewhere in the state and likely in the RTP area, but plans seem to have been cancelled or postponed. Hopefully we'll know more soon.
Man I would love to move my family somewhere around Raleigh. I would love for you to help me. I work for the usps and I'm looking to transfer. How can I contact you?
If you are against adding more useless office space in the North Hills area, please post here. This is a stupid project, because most of the space will never be leased.
It would be nice t have the space utilized more for things we actually want. I've lived in North Hills my entire life and the vibe has changed so much. I understand change is inevitable and the recent change has been good for the area but I'm not sure if more offices is the change we should be going towards.

Rapid bus transit and commuter rail on the way.

The thing about these apartment buildings, is that, they foreclose, and be on the market within a few years, after they are built.
