Yeah. I second Homes by Dickerson. Built with them 2020/2021. Closed in March. Amazing people to work with. Easy process and a phenomenal product at the end of the day. But I definitely have nail pops in my home.... which is normal. They will be back at the 10 month warranty inspection to repair those all though.
Hi Chris! Thanks for all your very informative videos! My husband and I are looking for 55+ gated community in Fuquay Varina and surrounding areas. Both of us are retired. Read from another subscriber that clients have had trouble with Del Webb/Pulte builders as well as Toll Brothers. Thank you.
Hi Patricia. Yes, we recently had a bad experience with Toll and have heard nothing but negative from people who have worked with Pulte lately. Please email us and we are happy to help. We have had a few clients looking for 55+ lately and there are a few great options from reputable builders. Our email address is info@themortongroup.com.
We are pretty far from Asheville, so not familiar with their builders. However, if you’re looking to buy in that area, email us and we can find you a reputable agent that has experience with Asheville builders.
Built a home with One27 and it has been a not so great experience. Back door was so misaligned that it didn’t lock after 3 weeks. There was white paint foot prints in the carpet upstairs that we never noticed until after blue tape. Every door knob in our house came off in my hand when trying to open after closing. And part of our property wasn’t graded until 3 months after we moved in
Hi Chris can you do a video for potential buyers in the area who have small budgets (max $250K wanting SFH) that seem to have limited inventory. I think as the area grows ‘pinched’ first time home buyers type content could get really popular. Love your content
I love their homes! Great builder. I built with Homes by Dickerson, but had looked at Saussy Burbank in a Durham neighborhood. My ultimate decision was made between these two builders. Home by Dickerson just edged them out. I felt the value of Homes by Dickerson was just a bit higher. In my neighborhood, Home by Dickerson does 10 ft ceilings as standard on the first floor. Saussy Burbank does 9 ft. Going through the homes by Saussy just make me feel like the ceilings are low compared to what I could get for the same price with Homes by Dickerson.
We are fans of both of these builders. Completely forgot to put Saussy Burbank in the video. We’ve left a few builders out by mistake. We love Homes by Dickerson. Great homes and great to work with.
@@joshuapowell986 we recently bought a spec home from Saussy Burbank (now McNeill Burbank in the Raleigh area) in Holly Springs. It has 10 foot ceilings and the overall design of the house is nice. However, I think you made the right choice by going with Homes by Dickerson. Saussy/McNeill Burbank cut so many corners and the overall craftsmanship is really disappointing. I realize this is a seller’s market but that;s no excuse for their refusal to do things listed on the spec sheet like putting in porch railings or even simple things like flipping a door to swing the way it is shown on their own floor plan. We now have a punch list with things like multiple cracks in the porch ceiling (poor quality materials used), window and door headers that were cut too short, and windows installed with bent frames. You know they didn’t even bother to keep up he landscaping they installed. We have brown, grass, weeds,, and even litter that no one bothered to clean up.
@@youramericanfriend9478 wow! I can’t believe that! So disappointing. I was actually looking at one of their homes in our neighborhood last night on my walk. Looks like that one has 10 ft on the first floor now. But I am honestly surprised by those types of punch list items. We definitely have items to have HBD to come fix. They took care of most of the main items at the 3 month warranty. We are approaching our 10 month warranty in January. So they will be back in to fix paint, nail pops (which there are a lot), minor settlement cracking (which is normal) and other small things.
What about A&G Residential Builders or Davidson Homes? We’re thinking about moving to Raleigh, but don’t really want to compete in this housing market so considering building. Thanks!
Davidson Homes is great. We have always had good experiences with them. A&G homes look nice, but we haven't had personal experience with them. Email us, info@themortongroup.com, happy to help.
Unfortunately we have not heard of anyone having a positive experience with them lately. Looks like they get a 1.3 out of 5 stars on BBB currently so be sure to go read those reviews. Email us if you would like some help with the process.

We are currently working with a couple clients building with Mattamy. Always check reviews. Email us if you would like help. Hello@MortonBradbury.com
What about Eastwood? Hearing some comments that they cancel your contract and request more money later on. Their BBB is good (3.75/5) but their yelp is bad (2/5)
Have not heard that, but hope they aren't doing that. There have been some unethical builders doing that. Haven't had a transaction with Eastwood lately.
I stopped at DR Horton.... I've been a finish carpenter for 38 years in the Raleigh area, and DR Horton is one of the worst builders, nationwide. If you're looking at one of their homes... run as fast as you can. This doesn't mean that the rest of Chris's recommendations aren't valid. He knows the local market very well. I also agree with davy that Homes by dickerson is one of the premier builders in the area, but bear in mind that there are a coule of hundred builders in this market.
Im building with Stanley Martin and it has been horrible. Communication sucks and My home keeps getting delayed. Signed contract in January and Was supposed close July but here I am in October still waiting to possibly close in December.
@@LivinginRaleighTV yes using covid delays excuse but other builders around the area have completed homes within 6-7 months. Some homes were started AFTER my house was already on framing and got completed already while im still on drywall.
Any feedback on Meritage Homes? I walked through one of their neighborhoods and wasn't impressed by the products being used.... especially at the price point of around $500k.
@@LivinginRaleighTV Hi, is this still true with Lennar? particularly looking at Legacy at Jordan Lake and possibly Mills at Advent Ferry. They seem to be about the only builder that has what we are looking for - dining room, guest suite on 1st floor, primary and laundry on second, a large enough front porch not on a slab and screened back deck. Thanks, I have been communicating with Isabella.
