I met Michael Biehn while driving a limo gig in Pittsburgh. We were scheduled to pick up actors at the airport as they arrived for the "ComiCon" convention. He was absolutely incredible. Very engaging, talkative, polite, humble and kind. At the end of the ride to the convention hotel, I asked Michael for his autograph on my "Tombstone" DVD. He graciously signed it, "I want your blood. - Michael Biehn"

I think my fav film with Russel is Overboard, you can say Pliskin if you like but I didn't like the way he talked so much, no one talks like that. My fav with Biehn, lead role in K2., supporting actor in the Abyss where he's the ultiamte bass ass nut job marine with sweats, trembles, and deep staring eyes, (and a very decent moustache)

I've always felt like this was a summer popcorn type action movie made to be attractive to the summer masses of movie goers, but the elevated performances of actors like Mike Biehn, Val Kilmer, Kurt Russell, etc, combined with the script that's better than it seems on first watch, really elevated this movie into an all-time classic. Between this role and Beihn's role in Terminator, another absolute all-time classic film in its Sci-Fi genre, his legacy will live on for a long, long time after he passes.
When you can watch a movie over and over, and still be entertained by it every time, it's truly a work of art, not just something put together to rake the audience for the price of a ticket.

There was a mania to Johnny in the way that Michael played him that sneaks out right in that moment. He had been trying to talk his way out of a fight with Holliday, but at that moment he realizes that isn't going to be possible, so he lets that bloodthirsty part of himself loose and commits to the fight fully. It's a beautiful moment of acting.

Absolutely agree with him on that - I really don't think there was ever a role or roles better suited for two Actors than Val Kilmer as Doc, and Michael Biehn as Johnny - Whoever decided you're this guy, and you're that guy, nailed this. I have watched this movie so many times I literally know every line from beginning to end by heart - And I am One, not a big fan of Westerns, and Two, not even a movie-goer all that much - But Tombstone was a Masterpiece. I also wholeheartedly agree that Val Kilmer, and Michael Biehn should have won Oscars for the Roles they played - They Stole that movie from Kurt, not that he didn't do a great job himself as Wyatt Earp - Hell, every Actor in Tombstone was Amazing - But to me, the Feud between Doc Holiday and Johnny Ringo - That WAS the Movie - Flawless Performances all around though.

One of my most favorite scenes EVER, out of all the movies I've seen in my 38 years.
Ringo and Doc really did steal the movie in a subtle and amazing way.

Yeah... that moment when Johnny Ringo realizes that he's not getting a pass from Doc, he just gets a fire in his eyes and says "Alright lunger... let's do it!" I think he knew that this was most likely it for him.

@@darwingraves308 hmmmmm.... you know it actually might have been BETTER to have those two actors switch roles. I think Val would have killed it as Ringo. You have to stretch to see it, but yeah .. I could go for that!

Hell of a good film I must a seen it at least twenty times it never gets old if it came on tomorrow I'd sit and watch it again, I think you come to feel an affinity with the characters Kilmer played a hell of a part as Doc Holiday and Russell was unquestionable as Wyatt Earp he just shone. Wyatt's brothers Virgil and Morgan played by Sam Elliot and Bill Paxton played their parts magnificently the three of them got the whole thing down to a "T and Michael Biehn as Johnny Ringo brings that whole wild unruly and unforgiving Badass gunslinger to the screen in spectacular fashion he was born for the part. They all did 'more than 'get in character what they each brought to the screen and accomplished playing these parts was nothing less than amazing it just doesn't get any better. I think it's easy to forget sometimes you're watching a film the characters and the action are portrayed so well it's almost like looking through a window in time watching it all unfold before you just as it happened.
I've gotta say when Wyatt was sat with doc as he was dying in the hospital it really was 'all I could do to fight back the tears and swallow the lump in my throat. As I'm getting older I think I'm getting softer but hell, 'sometimes, it's so easy to become lost in, give yourself to, or almost 'become a part of, whats taking place. You become so embroiled in the telling of the story It's easy to feel you're there 'in that instant, losing Doc, was like losing the best friend I ever had in the whole wide world ... hell of a film 'Hell of a film.

@@stevegunowner2610 No actually I didn't, I chose only to mention those who brought this story to life those who stood out head and shoulders above the rest those who brought their all to the parts they portrayed and gave it realism. It's not easy to bring magnificence to the screen or raise your leading men from the dead for that matter and make it historically accurate authentic and believable but Russell Kilmer Elliot Paxton and Biehn NAILED it.
If I didn't know better I'd say each one of them played a part that was more than familiar to them each given the chance to play characters in a historical story that awoke and brought back to life a part of each one of them something that had been buried deep in their subconscious a kind of reincarnation if you like.
It takes something truly special to awaken that part of a man which has lain dormant for so very long but once brought to the surface amazing things can happen and sometimes you are given the chance to witness the truly extraordinary "for them even if only for a short time it was their chance to live that life again a chance to tell their story "the outcome" was "Tombstone ;)
For those of you who aren't having or swallowing one little bit of that I can say only this ... there is no doubting the film was truly excellent and could not have been made or been brought together so magnificently without the truly great acting skills and abilities of all those concerned the performances were not just memorable they were nigh on legendary Tombstone is a truly epic film one of the very best westerns of our time and I will never grow tired of watching it.

One of the all time great movies of any era. I was fortunate enough to walk the "streets" of Tombstone or in reality, the Old Tucson Studios where much of it was filmed. Just walking the path the actors took through town to get to the gun fight was unbelievable.
