Dark fate was so underwhelming. The baddie was good, the acting was ok, but there was just no... moment. I’ll say is about as good as T3 - the baddies in DF was better, but the amazing scenes of the ‘first moments’ of skynet , and that the nuclear war can’t be avoided in T3 were great.

@@laz001 Agreed. I like the movie as a SEPERATE INSTALLMENT, that is when I watch it, I do not consider it to be part of T1 or T2: Judgment Day, the latter being my favorite movie of all time. Dark Fate is something you watch when you want to watch something with a lot of action and little story telling. Predator is a movie like that, not a strong storyline, but awesome to watch!

A quick IMDB looks like he has always been active up to current. He was doing great movies like The Rock and not so great movies like Navy SEALS in the 90s and still working.
You won't see him on TMZ, his career has brought him to the point of being called Iconic. Thats about the highest honor one can ask for. He will be an old man still being called Kyle Reese.

*wingsandash* We tend to think actors should forever retain their youthful appearance but that's not how things work. A lot of things influence how we age but sometimes even if you do everything right it can be less and graceful. It's great seeing Michael Biehn here even if he's now a little older for the ware but people never really comprehend just how fast time will fly by until we wake up one day and suddenly it hits you just how OLD you look.

The original Terminator movie will always be my favourite out of all of them. I get that the mainstream probably enjoy T2 the most, but to me the original is the perfect Terminator movie.
Its a dark, gritty, sci-fi/horror, thriller. Whereas i think T2 is more of a fun, over-the-top action blockbuster, buddy-buddy movie. The Dyson subplot breaks the building tension and pacing in T2, but the original keeps the pacing and tension building because its 100 percent focused on the protagonists desperately trying to stay one step ahead of the Terminator all the way through the movie, and the protagonists are always out matched. But the protagonists in T2 aren't outmatched because they have a Terminator always there protecting them.

Definitely. I love that film. To be honest i prefer 80's movies in general compared to modern movies. Its not just a nostalgia thing either, because there definitely have been a few recent movies that i thought were brilliant. 'Upgrade' for instance was a cracking good sci-fi movie. In general though i just seem to find myself enjoying 70's, and 80's sci-fi and horror movies more than the current Hollywood films that we get now.

Often in love stories, we men feel determined to protect the women we love at all costs, it's a feeling most men can identify with and relate to it in classic movies. Unfortunately in these years, studios are too busy making women so tough, independent and away from being "the girlfriend" that it seems a taboo thing to make relationships like they used to be back in the day.

Problem is, he went back in time at a young age and died during his visit. So how do you show an older Kyle Reese when he's dead? If he would've been transported back to the future before he died or at least show that, before he died, they would've had a lot of room to play with.

DirtyHarry G he died before he born so basically its a time paradox

It isn't a paradox. Nothing that Reese does imperils his own future birth. It's a loop, but a consistent one.

Michael Biehn played Kyle Reese perfectly. Couldn't have asked for a better portrayal

Part man, part machine. Underneath, it's a hyper alloy combat chassis, microprocessor-controlled, fully armoured. Very tough.

MB seems like a really nice chap, good to see him, I remember seeing The Terminator on Moviedrome on BBC2 (introduced by Alex Cox) circa about 1990/91 for the first time, good memories.

I remember that! I was born in 1981 and the 1st time I saw The Terminator was 87/88 (I think). I remember that particular showing of the movie on BBC2 because I taped it and had it for years. I must have watched that tape at least 100 times :)
Moviedrome was great. I was introduced to all sorts of cult classics by that. This is back when the Internet was not as widely used as today and there wasn't really any other way to see movies like The Terminator except when it was released on VHS and you got a loan of it from someone's older brother or sister or whatever.

i really looked up to this guy when i was a kid, thought he was just the coolest.
he's an amazing actor, top notch.
everybody was brilliant in the abyss, aliens and terminator, james cameron really knows how to pick em.
biehn was intense, so real, despite the fantastic plot, so passionate, despite attempting to stay mission conscious, and hamilton was believable and beautiful, their humanity contrasted so perfectly with the inhumanity of arnold schwarznegger.
all the lead characters in james cameron's movies have this fiery intensity in them that i love, except the terminators of course which are supposed to be cold as ice, althou one of them displayed a tinge of humanity towards the end of T2.
