Michael Biehn (Terminator, Aliens, Tombstone) joins us this week and shares countless memories from his storied career. From his tenure alongside James Cameron, to his fond memories with Bill Paxton, and even revealing the truth about Michael Rooker - Biehn has a ton of fun stories this week. Not only that, but Michael opens up on his dependency on alcohol early in his career, and how hitting rock bottom was the only way to prevent more self destruction. We also get into his friendship with Doug Stanhope, the mess of working on Tombstone, and how he’s gained his confidence back after a stroke.

in 2007 and 2008 I worked background on Big Love. My first day on the show, I was standing on set waiting to be told where to stand, when Bill walked up to me, introduced himself and asked if I'd been assigned a spot. I hadn't. He asked for my name and I told him. He called one of the AD's and had me placed on set. A week later i was cast on the show again and I ran into him and he greeted me by my name, which surprised me. Somehow, I ended up working on that show more than ten times and everytime, Bill saw me on set, he remembered my name. I later found out that he took care to know the names on everyone on his sets, including extras. Not only did he always greet me and others as equals, but he always took the time to chat with background actors. A hell of an actor, and a throughly kind and decent human being. I was devastated when I heard of his passing. A class act all the way

Years ago Conan O'Brien was at some movie premiere and Bill Paxton was there too. Conan asked, "Hey Bill, one of our interns is a big fan of yours can you go over and say 'hi?' Mr. Paxton went over to the intern and Conan saw the intern begin to smile, which got bigger and bigger as Mr. Paxton spoke with him. Turns out the intern's favorite movie was 'Tombstone' and Mr. Paxton recited *all* of his lines to him.
Another time I saw him on some other talk show and he showed off a picture of his son who was still a kid at that time. Mr. Paxton was so proud of him!
Flash forward to a couple years after his death...I was watching some fan made 'ALIENS' short here on UA-cam and in the cast was Mr. Paxton's son all grown up. I actually felt a lump in my throat seeing him and his name in the credits as his dad didn't get to.

We talked about Bill, and the fact that they did 5 movies together, and he named all 5 of them. Yes, I have a copy of The Lords of Discipline on dvd, don't think it's available on blu ray, but should be. I made a massive mistake with it once. It showed late on Ch4 one night and I missed the beginning so didn't bother videotaping it and when it finished, I knew I'd screwed up. Then it showed again one day and I recorded it. Such a great movie and based on a book which I am tempted even now to read. Agree too that The Lords of Discipline is another massively underrated movie. It was also the first time I had seen Michael Biehn play a villian and I hated him! I wanted to hit him! Haha. David Keith was also excellent.

His acting in Aliens was so different from anything I had seen with him (I watched Aliens as an adult who understood a lot more about acting and movies than as a child). Such a shame that Biehn didn't get a re-up in the 2000's like so many of his peers - you can argue that roles like Terminator/Aliens aren't exactly high art, but he totally inhabited those characters, and is arguably a better actor than many of those that did go on to a second round of stardom. His unhinged intensity and intelligence comes burning through as Ringo in Tombstone, the perfect foil to the quiet madness of Kilmer's Doc Holliday.

I met Michael at a horror movie convention in Dallas about ten years ago and he looked pretty rough at the time. You could tell he wasn't feeling well, but he was such a nice guy. I'm glad to see him looking much better now. He was just out walking around talking to people in the crowd. This was one of the Terminator reunions. Linda Hamilton was there too, but she wasn't out walking around talking with people like Michael and Robert Patrick and Dee Snyder were.

Bill Paxton RIP and Michael biehn were always good together in terminator, aliens, tombstone and navy seals. Got to give Jim Cameron credit for giving us these tough and talented guys like these two as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robert Patrick and Stephen lang.

I remember that Michael Biehn said that Bill Paxton was unsure as to how Pvt. Hudson was going to looked at because he felt that Hudson was annoying or that his performance would be ill received because people would think he was annoying.
This made Bill Paxton sad, and basically both James Cameron and Michael told him that Hudson was the audience, he was the hysterical emotion of the audience that expressed the fears and thoughts onscreen. That was what basically calmed Bill and he continued his great performance on ALIENS. This was the to me a parallel on how Veronica Cartwright felt of Lambert in ALIEN as well, because Lambert was similar to Hudson on basically channeling the audience's feelings and thoughts.
All of the characters in ALIENS, as like in ALIEN, they are eternally iconic. Bill Paxton to me will always be Pvt. Hudson and Jerry "The lone Ranger" in PREDATOR 2, and Michael Biehn will always be Corporal Dwayne Hicks.
We must enjoy life and try not to hurt people because life is as Michael said, and there will be a time all will unexpectedly end, and it will be like in Pvt. Hudson's iconic phrase "Game over man, Game over"

I remember where I was when I heard Bill passed. I was parking a car in a Mexican restaurant. My wife was inside already getting a table and shots. I heard them interrupt the broadcast in the radio and say Bill Paxton had passed during surgery and they needed more information. I parked my car and sat a bit. I too have had open heart surgery but at the time I did not know it was heart surgery he was having. But it makes you stop and think of what if. Very sad.

Bill was so good at standing out even if cast in a supporting role such as Aliens, True Lies, or Tombstone. Who can forget his characters in those movies, though they were not the central character in the story? He has some great lead roles too though and I loved him in A Simple Plan with Billy Bob Thornton. An underrated movie for sure.

Interesting source to hear this from... not just because they were friends from way back and worked together often... they have something in common. Everyone I've heard to work with either of them, Biehn or Paxton, really likes working with them. Actors like that should get more work. Not only are they good at the craft, but everyone has a better time just because they are on set. Good work, no ego trips, and good times. That sounds like a great acting resume to me.

Every film Bill Paxton was in was better for having him in it... From terminator, weird science, aliens, near dark, predator 2, twister, true lies, Apollo 13, titanic etc. He made every movie that little bit better just with his presence,, he may never have been the main billing but he was always the star who never got to shine. R.I.P Bill you were always the main event to me 👍❤️ much loved and forever missed
