I was in OCMD that week as well. We had our 32CC down from NJ. Never have I seen such mass chaos on the water than OC. Boats literally everywhere coming within feet of each other while on plane. constantly. it was madness. this video doesnt surprise me one bit.
Where's the throwable PFDs? Every boat in the state of Maryland is required to have at least one, so I thought. Of course, those are stowed away on the day the boat is purchased, never to be seen again unless the coast guard pulls them over.
The sad part is that moments later, the Captain of the Sport Fisherman decided that the 2 men were undersized and not in season so he threw them back rather than run afoul of the fishing regulations. Seriously though - That was an excellent example of seamanship and teamwork.
I have a question. Do fast speed boats have a faster 0 to 60 then cars? Do they have the same torque ? Whats faster a car or speed boat? Like a Bugatti... or even big wheel dragsters.. are boats faster then what we have on land?
Boats on the water are generally much slower than cars. If you're going 70 in a boat that's considered very fast. It actually feels like much, much faster than in a car because you're out in the open, usually close down to the water and the surface is generally not smooth like in a car . On a rough day 40 mph in a boat is quite a roller coaster ride and feels very fast. Boats have to rise up out of the water to get on plane in order to go fast, so I'm pretty sure their 0 to 60 times would be comparably poor. When you see a boat first accelerate and come up out of the water onto a plane at that point it's probably only doing about 25 mph.
I boat in OC 3 days a week. The rental pontoons are the worst boat out there. If you are in a 28ft boat or smaller it’s best to come through the inlet slow

yeah i dont know how they got that far most rentals they tell you not pass the RT50 bridge for this reason. want to go out in the ocean charter a boat that can do it
Zippy normally I agree with you, but the littering aspect I can debate. If you crinkle a can (assuming it's aluminum like a beer can) and tear it, it'll sink almost immediately, and disintegrate rapidly (aluminum and salt don't mix in terms of longevity.) So I wouldn't necessarily call it 'littering' since it'll be gone shortly. That's assuming it was a beer can he tossed over of course, or something aluminum...
I'm going to jump into this debate debacle. This is one of the most disgusting comments I've read on UA-cam in a long time. First, I can't believe you're serious Robert. Are you suggesting that any and all boaters should dispose of aluminum cans overboard? With all the information that is presented about the amount of trash that ends up in the ocean each year, the suggestion that a "crinkled" can will disintegrate in an acceptable amount of time is ludicrous. These "aluminum" cans are lined internally and externally with non-reactive plastic to better protect their contents. Therefore, the amount of time it would take for decomposition to take place is just about NEVER! I've turned my boat around when a can or bottle (or plastic or anything else non-biodegradable) was accidentally knocked overboard. Nobody that makes their living off the water would ever stand for you casually throwing your empty beer can into the water, much less doing it intentionally..........and ignorantly. Please adjust your thinking accordingly and we'll look forward to seeing you on the water!
Locals in Hawaii don't tolerate littering. There would be someone to talk to you at the boat ramp when you returned. You would get one warning. God help you if you don't listen.
