Intending to reverse type two diabetes, which I did, I lost over 100 pounds in 18 months, with the ketogenic way of eating and fasting (restricted time window, intermittent and extended.) That was only the first act. I also dramatically reduced the effects of degenerative disc disease and arthritis. My mind is clearer, I have more energy, and my mindset is positive. People tell me that I'm always smiling. Eating a mostly whole-food and mostly ancestral healthy fat diet has literally and drastically changed my life, and no doubt, extended it.

Last November, I started the carnivore diet. Stayed on that for 3 months and then added avocados, olives, and brussels sprouts. I occasionally add some kale, usually using it with eggs. I am currently 55 pounds lighter, off of one of my blood pressure meds, and my blood sugar is no longer in the type 2 diabetes range. If my numbers are as good or better than my last check up, my doctor said he will take me off of all of my meds (blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol). My triglycerides are back in a normal range also. My arthritis has disappeared completely and my energy levels are through the roof. I'm retired now, so playing golf and cutting firewood are two of my favorite pastimes. I sleep much better also. My CPAP numbers have greatly improved, and I may not need that much longer. And after all of that, I never get hungry! I eat one meal a day with no portion restrictions. I couldn't be happier in this environment! Watching your videos made all of the difference. I asked my doctor why he hadn't given me the same advice, and he said that they didn't teach him that in medical school. They really should have.

I'm 57 years old and have been a T2 diabetic for some years now. In early January, just after the holidays, my fasting blood sugar tested at 311. I knew I had to make a change, so on Feb. 8th of this year I had a wellness visit with my doctor. At the time of the visit, I had been doing Keto and exercising for about five weeks while mixing in days of time-restricted eating (along with learning from many videos by Dr. Berry). My A1C tested that morning at 10.7. My doctor really wanted to get me on Metformin, but I had seen the success of a healthy low-carb diet before and knew I just needed to be consistent and not expect overnight success. It had taken a long time to get to that state of health, so I knew I wasn't going to "fix it" in a month. My doctor scheduled me for another visit two months out.
On the 14th of this month, I went back to my doctor. My A1C came back at 7.1. I realize it's not ideal and I have a ways to go, but I'm stoked! And this is all with NO medication or insulin, just consistent exercise (elliptical five days a week) and a consistent ketogenic diet. My cholesterol is down, and my blood pressure is significantly down. (She actually had to reduce my BP meds.) My doctor was thrilled and told me, "I was going to get you on a medication regimen, but with these results, just keep doing what you're doing!" I'll see her again in six months, and I hope to shock her with even better numbers. The moral of the story: Dr. Berry's advice is sound; I'm walking proof. Thanks so much, Dr. Berry!

Well my next visit was early February 2022 and I lost 10 lbs and A1C 7.6. I am so glad that I’m following your videos. I ate when I was hungry and no food after 6pm. It took me longer to give up sweet drinks but I did.

To drink I only go with tea sweetened with stevia. Dill pickles slices, olives. I eat the meat about once a day sometimes twice if I have a left over. Don't fill up, just eat to live. Don't live to eat. Iv lost around 45 pounds taking me down to 175 for a male 5 foot ten inches. Got off insulin and the last time I was at the doctor my A1c was 5.6 without the shots.

A new subscriber here from the Philippines. I started Intermittent fasting last Feb.2022. I've weighted 99.5kgs. At that time,on March 2022 I've totally removed eating processed carbs and rice in my diet,Ive also learned to eradicate totally drinking juices(artificial and fresh),sodas but instead have cucumber and lemon fresh juice, and sometimes add some parsley as well. I also stop drinking coffee and instead have green tea mixed with ginger,I also have Apple cider vinegar diluted in water(upon waking up in the morning). I am now down to 79.45 KGS(as of July 1) I keep track (documented)of my weight every month.I also noticed that my pants are all loose now(and have to use belt which I am not doing before) my current blood glucose is 99mg/DL from 184 mg/ dl,and I'm still continuing my fasting to lower down my blood glucose to the safest range that I've learned to your videos sir! Thank you very much for all of your honest effort in helping us have the better version of health! God bless you more sir and your family as well!!! And by the way I am not taking my Prescribed medication anymore(metformin and amlodipine for my BP w/c is now back to normal) I am doing the 2 powerful tools that you mention doctor...and I can attest that it really works! Mabuhay from the Philippines..single female turrning 45 y.o.this July 16...good health is the best gift for myself!

I'm a type 1 diabetic and between living a carnivore/keto lifestyle and 16/8 intermittent fasting, I've gone from 7 bolus injections a day down to 1 or 2 bolus injections of between 3 to 6 units . I've reduced my Basal from 50 units to 20.
I no longer get hypos and I've lost over 2 1/2 stone.
If it can help a type 1 diabetic like me this drastically, I can only imagine the benefits it will have for type 2 diabetics.

started doing this even before i saw this video. I have restricted myself to 30 carbs a day and do an intermediate fasting for 16 hours once a week. Just so you know what my results have been, I have been doing this for approx. 4-5 months, when I started my fasting A1C was a 7.3 and now at my last check up my A1C was a 5.7, and my doctor could not believe what was going on and actually took me off 2 of my medications. Also I am 6'4 and weighed 259 lbs. and now I weigh in at 214 lbs. Next check up i will be below 5.6 A1C and no longer be type 2 diabetes. Yay for me .My age is 56 and have been diabetic for 14 years and all they try to do is control your surer with medication not fix the problem, or discuss with you how to fix the problem. love your videos have gotten a lot of useful information from them. I was diagnosed with type 2 in 2018. I freaked out big time. You know what my doctor told me? He told me to eat low carb, no breads, no potato's and rice. I dont take metformin or insulin and in 6 months with lots of walking, I dropped my A1c from 12.1% down to 6.4%. Also, you are right about the fasting. I quit eating about 4 hours before going to bed and just drink water. My finger stick when I wake up will be around 115. So yes people, he telling the truth. I work as a medical lab scientist and I am in charge of running all the tests for the doctors in the hospital. I know what the results mean when I see them before I release them to the patients charts. I see people way younger than me that are in stage 4 kidney failure due to not controlling their eating lifestyle. You have to commit to wanting to improve your numbers. I dont want to lose my feet like my uncle did or kidneys. Not me....not me.

I was diagnosed Feb. 18, 2022 with type 2 diabetes. I went to the doctors because I thought I had a bladder infection. Turns out my blood sugar was 500!😲 Unbelievable. I'm grateful to be alive and follow your instructions to reduce my blood sugar and May 18th, I will get another A1C reading. I'm hoping for a 4! My vision had changed also for the worse. However, I have reversed my diabetes. I dropped 10 lbs after 2 weeks. I'm still losing weight. My bloodsugar is 112-130. I look forward to May 18th and I thank you for your information!

I have found I do not have any problem skipping breakfast. It is the only reason I believe I am keeping my A1C at 5.7. No sugar or alternative diet drinks either. I drink Bai drinks or Virgils no sugar soda. Looking at their ingredients, I believe their ingredients like monk fruit are OK. Do have some weakness for ice cream and occasional bread; hence my thought that intermittent fasting helps me out a lot. Even with the lower A1C, I have the beginnings of eye neuropathy which an eye laser session so far has stopped in its tracks. Thank you Dr. Berry for reminding us in a strong manner how threatening diabetes is.

I would add one additional tool, a blood glucose meter. A CGM would be great, but most insurance companies won't pay for it if you're not on insulin. Heck my doctor keeps threatening to take away my prescription for the strips for my meter.
A major rule of thumb I learned early. You meter is a diabetics best friend. It tells you the truth. Eat to your meter. Test your levels before and two hours after a meal. That way you know exactly how a certain meal is affecting you. You can then make adjustments in order to get the results you want.
It was by this rule that I discovered the low carb /keto diets. The dietician is sent to after diagnosis told me to eat over 120g of cards across 6 meals a day! OMG as soon as my numbers would start to drop from a meal, I would have to eat and they would go right back up again!
By eating to my meter, eating at most three times a day, and eating a ketogenic diet, I dropped my A1C from 10.4 to 5.2 in exactly 6 months. All that on 500mg of metformin a day. Since then I've been bouncing down around 5.0. Even hit 4.8 and 4.9 a couple of times.
At diagnosis I was told I was in horrible shape, that it would progress rapidly, that insulin would not work for me, etc. Well look at me now buddy! Ha!

    Hi Dr Berry,
Thankyou very much for the info you share.
You're helping so many people and going the extra mile compared to the doctors that I've seen.
I have gout and now just recently type2 diabetes diagnosed 2 weeks ago and managing with Metformin for now.
Tried Progout and ended up having to stop due to tendon issues.
Managed the gout with a high carb diet and now I understand that the gout and carbs have aided in the diabetes.
I've cut all refined sugar, and going low carb and low purine diet and reduced my food intake by 50%.
My next step is exercise when the gout subsides.
Keep up the great work and best wishes to you and your family All the way from Sydney Australia :)
