SCIENCE ANSWER: Hey Tyler, you’re experiencing something we call saponification, basically fatty acids are converted into a soap. We see it commonly in forensics but it’s definitely a well known chemical reaction of lye with triglycerides in the fatty acid chains. Look it up, it’s called “saponification.” Hope this helps.

I think the fat hardened, because lye is an ingredient in soap, and so is fat. So the fat and lye went under saponification, and maybe became soap

Big Red all purpose cleaner is so strong that it literally needs to be diluted 20:1 to work correctly without eating away at things, so I think if you buy some of that to put into jars, that’d be the funniest thing!

Are you venting your garage when you do these cause I dont think its good breathing in the hydrogen gas that the aluminum and lye reaction caused. Also could've blown up in the right (WRONG) circumstances.
Koll-Manee Correct. Higher concentrations of hydrogen are a known asphyxiant and actually displaces Oxygen, similarly to that of carbon monoxide. He would do well to study some chemistry as a hobby so we can have more videos in the future. As soon as I saw the tinfoil container, I thought he was joking. I also think he’s much smarter than he portrays, which makes him funnier.

Hey Tyler, you might want to use a glass casserole dish instead of the aluminum or plastic. Glass is pretty chemically neutral.
Tyler then puts in hot lye solution and etches the glass, making sodium silicate. :/

I have a funny theory that I know isn’t true but I figured I’d share it, but the theory is that Tyler is trying out all these things in jars to see what material perfectly dissolves a body and he does other types of videos about self defense weapons or how much damage certain things do just so that he can plan out the perfect murder 😂 this obviously isn’t true tho lol, it’s just kinda fun to think of..
(Edit) he also tests a lot of tape products too, maybe to keep someone quiets or hold someone down, I obviously know that all his videos are just fun and to experiment and to educate us..
