the can only really touches the cooling plate by the bottom ring, and that low contact area is probably why the cooling speed is so slow - not much area for heat transfer. honestly shows that the can thing was added later in the design, and the concave bottoms of cans were not accounted for.
I'm glad you chose this profession! But I've been wondering, How do your parents feel about you being a product tester/demonstrator on UA-cam when they clearly decided you were going to be a tile installer on the day you were born?
What if you put the can in the cup? There isn't any insolation on that aluminum can, so the room is keeping the can warm. You could also try putting the can in a koozie and turn it over while it is still sealed to try to cool it.
The toaster oven might be smoking and smells strange because you're supposed to run it for 30 minutes or so, at least that's what the instructions say for a toaster oven I got from Walmart. There are chemicals in there from where it was never used for what ever reason.
The cup has an aluminum inner liner surrounded by an insulated outer shell. The soda can does not have that outer layer of insulation. Thus the device was actually able to cool a room temp beverage (as others mentioned, this device is not really designed to heat or cool beverages, but actually to maintain a heated or chilled state) effectively in the insulated cup. But the chill applied to the bottom of the aluminum can because much of the cooling went into the atmosphere (room air) due to the fact that the can was not insulated. If you slipped a bottomless coozy over the soda can the result would have been much better.
welcome to the TylerTube channel where when Tyler is hungry he finds food gadgets to test as an excuse to eat in a video😂 Tyler if you do see this it’s all love absolutely love the videos and keep up the great work man
The cup heater/cooler likely uses thermoelectric cooling/heating. Using the Peltier effect. Depending which way the polarity is it will either get hot or cold. This explains it well. Its also sort of how those little metal fans you put on your fireplace things that look like they don't run on any electricity. ( albeit the fan converts the heat/cooling into electricity. )
The frothy layer on the espresso is the crema, and yes it happens from the pressure. You can add cream and sugar to an espresso if you wanted to, I usually do a little bit of brown sugar in mine 🤘🏽
As a person who didn't start drinking coffee until later in life because I wasn't a coffee fan initially, go with something way higher quality over Folgers to get a better Minipresso experience. You'll still get the in-your-face nature of the espresso, but you'll get a WAAAAY better flavor profile otherwise. I only drink my stuff black for the very reason you get really cool flavor differences between different brew methods and different coffee roasters. At the very least, get some Good & Gather brand coffee from Target if you can't get a small-batch roaster's stuff. Also, the foamy stuff in the espresso and that different "mouth feel" are also totally normal for espresso if no one else has mentioned it.

What if you put the can in the cup? There isn't any insolation on that aluminum can, so the room is keeping the can warm. You could also try putting the can in a koozie and turn it over while it is still sealed to try to cool it.
I like the idea of putting the can in the mug to cool it off. Would love to see if it fits.
Tyler: "It's impossible to mess up a hotdog."
Me: >.> you haven't met my wife
The toaster oven might be smoking and smells strange because you're supposed to run it for 30 minutes or so, at least that's what the instructions say for a toaster oven I got from Walmart. There are chemicals in there from where it was never used for what ever reason.
Somewhere, while Tyler was making the "espresso", James Hoffmann felt a stabbing pain in his heart
The smart hotplate is a peltier-effect device much like the low power fridges. Super inefficient, but it works.
I disagree. They don't work unless you like your drinks barely warm or barely cold lol
@@savage101. Within an insulated box, their intrinsic 3% efficiency can bank cold or heat over time. Still not great devices overall though.
Yeah man, piezoelectrics are pretty cool, but yeah peltier coolers use a lottt of energy
15:33 If you open the can it will allow the confined temperature in the can to escape more easily.
But it would slowly lose all of the bubbles
The cup is insulated, if you put one of those neoprene covers over the can, I could safely bet it'd get cold fast.
I’m surprised no one has told Tyler he used the items incorrectly yet
which ones
@@theolshe4313 yes
@@willvalle2211 i see then
He always does. He's like the drunk uncle.
@@bradklingensmith lol I like that comment. I hope Tyler sees and likes it lol
New shirt idea... I already read the destructions lol
It says "Pizzaiolo" that means Someone that make pizzas, like a chef. It's pronounced like "Pizza-Yolo"
Pizza #yolo
Hey Tyler, If you want the *best* pizza experience, crispy on the bottom, get a Pizza Stone.
I felt uncomfortable during the espresso part
He is literally useless when it comes to coffee.... that looked like an awesome espresso
@@veridico84 yeah, but I felt weird when he was making it lol
These hotdogs are hot - ah yes, this floor seems to be made out of floor. 😂
I appreciate your originality 😂 These are the youtube channels I subscribe to. Just everyday folks making it real 👍✌
Take a drink everytime Tyler says "It's hot!" :D
The foam on top is called crema and it is considered a good thing.
700K ive been waiting!! Almost there dude
If he would have opened the can, it would have cooled it down. Cooling a liquid under pressure takes an immense amount of energy.
finnaly someone said it!!! I was yelling at screen for him to open the can. It even says too on the warning label lol
Yayyyyyy 701k!!!!!! Go Tyler!!!!!!!
welcome to the TylerTube channel where when Tyler is hungry he finds food gadgets to test as an excuse to eat in a video😂 Tyler if you do see this it’s all love absolutely love the videos and keep up the great work man
I'm on break in a amazon van while watching this video lmao
The pizza cooker will save money vs heating a big oven.
( albeit the fan converts the heat/cooling into electricity. )
What are you doing in the comment section of this channel?! 😂😂
Watch out, my guess is that you'll lose brain cells here if you are not careful 😄💗👍
The frothy layer on the espresso is the crema, and yes it happens from the pressure. You can add cream and sugar to an espresso if you wanted to, I usually do a little bit of brown sugar in mine 🤘🏽
THANK you for fixin the pepperoni's b4cooking 🤣I have the hatchet 🪓 pizza cutter already...now I Wana try out the pizza device 😆
Watching you rotate a blazing hot pizza over rotating the cutting board is comedy on it's own.
Am I the only one that thought that James Hoffman would be losing his mind watching this? 🤣 keep up the great vids man!
Man I love these videos been on a journey since finding this channel like 2 weeks ago
