Here is a movie clip on the great man Livingstone, who gave up all earthly riches to serve God in 'the dark continent'
The Africans got their first taste of the gospel through this man.Even after realizing that he was world famous, he chose the humble life.
Beaten, bruised, stung, bitten, mauled and lots more was Livingstone's condition.But nothing could discourage him.
HE SPENT 32 YEARS IN THE FORESTS OF AFRICA AND HAS WALKED 40,000 MILES ON FOOT.

Thanks for uploading scenes from one of my favorite movies. The film is not strictly historically accurate but it does convey the impact that Livingstone had on Stanley's life. Spencer Tracy does his usual fine job while Sir Cedric Hardwicke has of his best roles.

A fascinating story to be sure but once again it's told from the perspective of white Europeans. As with American Indians, the African natives already knew where all the trails & geographical points of interest were, excluding inaccessible sources of rivers, mountain peaks, etc. After all, Stanley had a whole complement of natives with him on his expeditions, he wasn't roughing-it alone. Still fascinating, though, & Stanley nonetheless has to be admired for courage, bravery, & endurance.
