Thanks God you sent Elinor, the brave and strong missionary woman with a loving heart for our people, Papua. Her works for your glory only. Praise be to the Lord..
Very much blessed by Elinor's story. When I was 13 years old my parents were on staff at Prairie Bible Institute. We lived just beside the A-dorm. As we walked to church we would often see Elinor, with her crutches, heroically throwing her legs forward. In '69 my parents left PBI to go to the Netherlands where my father is still active as an evangelist, now 94. Later on my (nurse) wife and I served at a mission school in Ghana for 10 years., and we can well relate to the love she felt for the people.
One at a time, take the fist step God tells you. Then the next. Then the next... He won't show you the whole journey at once. Just one step at a time..
Love her perspective of how God turned her weaknesses into His glory! She presents it as exciting! It is!! In our weakness, He is strong! Praise the Lord! Beautiful testimony!
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:9-10) Praised be the Lord!!
I’m in tears again hearing your recount of how God chose you , precious Elinor, to be His servant and slave, and used your weakness to advance His Kingdom for His Glory! Hallelujah. Amen. God so loved His People in Papua that He gave you to them to help Him save souls!!! Hallelujah. Amen. Soli Deo Gloria🪅🎉🎊 Praise The Lord. What a blessing! We knew an evangelist that had polio as a child. He was crippled (his words). He used crutches and wore leg braces. He could sing and play piano. He often said that his parents didn't treat him special but made him do things for himself - like get his own drink of water at night. They had a swimming pool built so that he could swim to increase endurance and strength. He traveled the country for many years preaching the gospel. He is in Heaven now.
Amen. My grandparents came to know Christ as their savior after world war 2 when missionaries came to our country and share the gospel. Forever grateful to God for sending those missionaries all over the world.
I read today about Master giving out tallents to his servants. i thought about not our natural abilities but supernatural in our infirmities. i was greatly encouraged by this testimony of God's capabilities thru our inabilities. Praise God
My brother had paralyzing Polio. We lived close to a school. He would watch the children play.He said he would cry and cry because he had been told, he would never walk again. The Lord spoke to my Dad your son will never walk and play like those children at the school playground., unless you get willing to go PREACH my Word. When Dad got willing to Evangalize and preach the Gospel. Hands were laid upon him, THE POWER OF GOD INSTANTLY HEALED HIM. HE STOOD TO HIS FEET AND WAS HEALED AND WALKED COMPLETELY HEALED. He was able to go to that same school and play ball. Like the comments-- Its truly what God wants. How wonderful to read of a life given to the work of the Lord !! Thanks
One of my parents has cerebral palsy, been on crutches/wheelchair entire life. That person has led more kids to Christ than anyone I know. Never, ever count someone out if God calls them.

I am just finding this story 2 years later. Thank you for sharing your story. How I wish I had had a clear call from God to do SOMETHING, when I was young. Now I am nearly 50, have been unemployed/under-employed for 10 years, and have nothing to show for my life. It makes me so sad. You are blessed to have done this work! I am so glad you were able to get back for one more visit. It must've been so hard to leave. But you have the hope of seeing these dear brothers and sister in eternity one day! This was wonderful. I am so glad I came upon it!
Hello, Yesica -- Thank you so much for commenting and introducing yourself. You are nearly 50, you said. That tells me you have a LOT of good years left to help advance God's kingdom. It doesn't have to be traditional or big. I do a lot from my bed through my laptop. Things others never see except the people it is meant for. Sometimes just one person. Make an impact for God in one person's life and who knows what may happen?! It could spread around the world. Write down what you most like to do and ask God to show you how to use it. He'll do that. You have a long, happy future ahead.
NEVER too late....my grandmother is missionary powered by the Holy Spirit and she is making a huge impact! She started in her 50s....(: her name is Maria Dusciuc, her testimony is actually on youtube here but it's in Romanian!

Yes!
What an amazing life and way God used her. And. What an amazing attitude she had -- even with them running down the mountain with her.
Thank you, Sharon. Yes, what God does is amazing indeed. Glad you liked the run-down-the-mountain story. :-) -Elinor
Praise God for missionaries like you.👍♥️🥰😊🙏🏽
God calls and empowers beyond what we can imagine.
Amen. My grandparents came to know Christ as their savior after world war 2 when missionaries came to our country and share the gospel. Forever grateful to God for sending those missionaries all over the world.
@@graceweber2822 What an encuraging story for all missionaries. May God send more into all the world.
I've come to know the Lord thru missionaries . I actually remember the name of the one who prayed for me.
@@yanniemullin2189 Wow, that is so encouraging. Wonderful.
I read today about Master giving out tallents to his servants. i thought about not our natural abilities but supernatural in our infirmities. i was greatly encouraged by this testimony of God's capabilities thru our inabilities. Praise God
That's wonderful, Yurly. That is a great way to apply the parable. - Elinor
Thanks
What an unusual story. You're right - God knows what is the best for each of us.
Excellent, ty so much for sharing that..I've always been told that God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called..you're living proof of that
My hope is that people see that.
One of my parents has cerebral palsy, been on crutches/wheelchair entire life. That person has led more kids to Christ than anyone I know. Never, ever count someone out if God calls them.
Boy, a big AMEN! to that!!
Glory to God for this life changing story.
So Amazing How God can use our weakness for His Glory!! I am looking forward to that. Thank you Elinor for honouring God's Call!
Thank you, Evans. He wants ALL of us to be blessed by serving him, whether others see what we do or not.
Thanking God for a Beautiful sister in Christ. ❤
I love these testimonies of God working through His chosen instruments. God chooses the un accepted by people so that He receives all the glory because He is the One doing His work. They humble me for their faith and obedience.
Yes. And what a privilege to be a chosen one.
What a submitted, committed woman. Thus is the 1st time I ever heard of her
I hope it shows that we don't have to be famous to serve and shine for the Lord. Love that!
Thank You for your TESTIMONY ❤✝️❤️📖📚🎺👑

Such a moving story. I have always loved missionaries. Brother Norman, a missionary I knew, had polio when he was a baby. Followed the Lord's call and served as a missionary in the Middle East for decades. It is an honor to know these who serve God so mightily.
I praise God for using His faithful servant, Elinor.
Thank you, Susanna.

My friends Jerry and Ethel Reeder we’re missionaries to Papau Indonesia. He was a bush pilot for 17 years and just recently published his first book Friend of the Wind. Amazing stories!!
I just checked on fb and your name came right up bc I see Jerry is your friend!!! I love hearing them tell their stories! Do you have a book? I went on UA-cam and watched everything I could about Bornea and Papua . We just visited them and had Amazing time!! I am a missionary. We lived in Haiti. The book of Elinor's story is equally amazing....Running on Broken Legs by Elinor Young. Thank you.
Thanks for the endorsement!
I am only now coming back to this video and seeing your conment. (UA-cam didn't send me notification. ) Thank you for your kind response.

The Lord used you with all your challenges, to be a gift to so many people, even to me.. Our Lord used you to touched so many lives, as you touched their's, and they touched your's with love, with the Spirit, the Gospel. There is no greater work and Love. In your challenges you have accomplished so much. You carried on and let the Lord work thru you...l am so greatful that l have been blessed to see and know your wonderful story. And see your strength, determination to ctr, and now to share it with the World.❤🙏 thank God for wonderful people like you....

Wow, thank you Missionary Elinor...
In accepting the Lord's call into missionary work, one of the things we must always do is not giving attention to the physical challenges we may have found ourselves into. Not to as well give ear to those around us, who might have not seen what we might have seen and heard.
"WHO THE LORD CALLS HE WILL USE"
Yes, there are always people who will give us their reasons why we can't or shouldn't do what we know God has called us to do. But only He knows best!
Sure that's exactly so.
Thank you so much for sharing!!!!❤
