I would like to do client testimonial videos with my iPhone where I ask a few questions and they respond about their experience. Which mic would you suggest for this?
It might be helpful to mention that if you pick up the Shure MV88 you will most likely have to remove the case from your iPhone to use it. It might not be a deal breaker for everyone but some cases are a MAJOR PAIN to take off.
@@Alzheimers_Mike That's true but keep in mind the leverage added by the extension. If you drop your phone or knock over the tripod the extension will increase the potential for damage to the iPhone lightning port.
The MV88 is fantastic, not only because of the app, but it’s enabled to make adjustments and changes to the pickup pattern. It sounds great too! I’ve used mine many times with my iphone and it’s never failed me. Still a great mic and worth the $$$.
@@iandustries it won’t happen this year except on the Pro Max. I have kept my XR so far for 4 years it still takes terrific pics. When I get the 14 pro I’d still keep it around the same amount of time. Also, I’m pretty sure a way to create an adapter will come along. I still have a good number of years to keep this mic around. Along with my DJI Wireless mic, which also provides a lighting connector with it.
How far it pickup the sound from the mic clear and loud enough?Especially i wanted to use for the interview kind of video between two people. Thanks in advance.
Honestly, the built in microphone for the iPhone is more than enough for anyone starting out their channel. Is it the best audio quality? *no* But most people won't be able to tell the difference, anyways. The most important part of your channel is *starting!*
My biggest challenge with my content is recording in public areas where they play copyright music. Then in post I have to cover it up and it destroys the audio. My 2nd biggest challenge is getting better than iPhone mic quality audio without drawing attention to myself while I’m out recording. We need a viable Bluetooth lav mic. I don’t understand why Rode, diety, and Shure haven’t given this to us yet. We have the technology.
because they cost 25 dollars from a china brand, and they're available on Amazon for that price. My guess is they can't compete / don't want to, for branding purposes.
@@TastingTravel As I type this I have another window open actually and I'm buying a pair, even Think Media (this channel you're viewing this video on), recommended that as a must have fun option for any UA-camr, in another video of theirs. True, on the Amazon page it does say they aren't bluetooth. I wonder what they are then. Some kind of radio technology? That said, um, I think the guy in the comment above @anthonylharding, might mean by "bluetooth", is "wireless". Since he mentioned not drawing attention to himself I imagine that's what he meant. I'm going to give them a go, I hope they work! :)
@@TastingTravel Oh I didn't realise you're the same guy with different channels! Maybe you could try em out? Or have you? And did they work for you? Thanks!
I've tried them, they are terrible. Ther are not actually bluetooth. they have a reciever that plugs into the phone port and its a major breaking point, I've snapped 3 of them just by putting my phone in my pocket. I've done more research on the RWP and it has a MagSafe compatability which makes it a better option but then it makes the phone bulky and clunky which is one of the things I'm trying to avoid by using my phone. Any microphone company that makes a true bluetooth capable microphone is going to sell billions of dollars worth of them. It would be best if Rode or Shure do it because they already have the quality of microphone down so they should really spend to make this happen@@theyoutubejourney
I've yet to find anyone that addresses the issue with charging while you have an external mic plugged into your iPhone's USB. the iPhone battery goes quick. Does anyone have any idea for a set up that still lets you charge?
Bro! I was watching your video getting completely educated when my husband Frank G goes! You know that’s Omar from city Light!! I’m like whattttt. I’m totally obsessed with your videos and I’m going to buy that mv88 mic! ❤
I'm finally starting my golf youtube channel and I'm using my iPhone 11 Pro Max on that same Manfrotto tripod with Moment lenses and the Rode VideoMicro. I also use my iPhone 13 Pro Max with a Movo wireless lavalier on a separate tripod. It's been fun recording the entire round. Have two rounds recorded, just need to get to editing!
I’m biased as I’ve been locked in with Deity for years. I mainly use my D4 Pro at home on my camera, D4 & V-lav when I’m out & about. Getting the Deity pocket wireless as an upgrade. Fun fact the D4 is an amazing just out of frame mic for streamers!!!
When you use these mics with the iPhone, is the audio from the mic synched to the iPhone video? Or do you need to synchronize the audio and video after recording?
Great video! I’ve been trying to find a mic for my iPhone to use when filming at band rehearsals. It’s just for our ears to listen back to, so it doesn’t have to be the best quality, but any improvement on the build in mic would be awesome. Any tips?
This dude tag is swollen.. Hard. I like. I started needing one on for off device like recording. Tripped out on freestyling pop ups. Was like a first ever idea when I got started with digital creating but lost the track. I like the style of the looks of this one. ✌ What's the noisiest place you've used it? I was actually looking for a pin mic. But the dr have me
Nice video! I am currently recording free guitar lessons on my channel and looking for the best mic for the iPhone and am currently using the Shure MV88. What would you recommend for the best mic for recording voice and instrument together?
@@ThinkMediaTV wait actually? Because I ordered the the Deity D4 Duo and got every adapter possible and it didn’t work. Care to explain everything I’ll need to get if I want the Deity D4 mini to work on my iPhone 13?
Excellent information! I’ll eventually be creating videos of me creating various crafts. I also host a party at my lake each summer with live bands playing. I’d like information on the best audio options available to pick up the music/vocals from the band while limiting the crowd sounds. Thanks!!

Hey, can you speak to the rig set up you did with the diety mic on the tripod please? and list the products with links if possible? that would really help.
Vlog and podcast. I think I’m going to purchase the 2nd microphone. I already have the 1st mic; so I don’t know if I’m going to purchase a boom for it or just purchase the 4th wireless microphone you also recommend. And I’m going to eventually purchase the 5th microphone also.
Great vid Omar! Nice work! Hey, quick question- I have the Rode video micro and really dig it- but I do want to mount it to my boom. Where did you get that clamp thingy to mount the mic to the boom? Thanks man!

You can order an extender from Amazon so it will work with your hard case.

true but I modified my case with a razor knife.
@@karlcountry2363 agreed but some cases are easier to modify than others. I think modding the case is a better idea than lightning plug extenders.
