INGREDIENTS
------------------
DRY:
120g almond flour
Or
120g of nut/seed flour of your choice
Or
80g coconut flour
*

20g psyllium husk
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp xanthan gum
A pinch of salt
1 tsp Instant yeast (the one you can add directly to the dough without activation)
WET:
1/2 tbsp oil (I use olive oil)
1 tsp vinegar (I use apple cider vinegar)
1 cup Hot water (you only need slightly over ½ cup)
GARLIC INFUSED OIL:
Finely chopped garlic (amount based on your preference)
Fresh parsley
Olive oil
50-60g gratable vegan cheese (cheddar and smoked cheese both work great!)
DIRECTIONS
----------------
1. Place all DRY ingredients into a bowl and mix well.
2. Mix vinegar and hot water in a cup.
3. Pour the hot liquid into the DRY ingredients (A small amount of liquid at a time! You most likely only need slightly over ½ cup. Coconut flour dough may need a bit more). Spend a few minutes mixing/kneading the dough till it’s moist and smooth.
4. Cover and rest the dough for 15 minutes
5. Roll out the dough on a flat surface till it reaches a similar thickness of thin crust pizza. Use a dough cutter or knife to tidy up the edges.
6. Brush the GARLIC INFUSED OIL on top and sprinkle with grated cheese.
7. Bake in a 200C/400F preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or till the bread is golden brown.
8. Brush with the remaining garlic oil and enjoy!

Did you use yeast? I am unsure which to buy or perhaps if I can use baking powder?
@@littlevoice_11the yeast is just got flavour. Baking powder and baking soda won't work the same way and may impart a bitter flavour.

Later: I calculated the carbs on Cronometer and sadly, it works out to be 11.5 net carbs per slice (if you cut it into 8 pieces.) Too many carbs for me right now. Bummer.

This looks to me like a good alternative to a pizza. I need to be off wheat/gluten but now and again, I'd love a good pizza (and end up suffering the consequene... 😞. The only thing I cannot have in this recipie is garlic (love the taste but cannot have them) but I don't think that'll change anything other than the taste and I love cheese, so will give this a try. Thanks Fan. 💫❤

made two versions of this a couple of weeks ago - the almond bread flour version and the coconut flour version. unfortunately, the psyllium husk powder that i used made both breads purple. nevertheless, they still tasted wonderful! i'll be making one again but this time i will grind whole psyllium husk into powder and use that instead. cheers!

1 tbsp psyllium husk
15 tbsp's water
salt& pepper
make crepes using a crepe maker they go for $25.. if you leave them on long enough the egg flavor goes away.
that's how i make flat bread/pasta/lasagnia sheets etc
nothing beats this recipe it's so freaking good

Nice! just a lil note: i learned recently that salt is bad for yeast in the beginning so one should wait like an hour (iirc) of the yeast "working" in warm & sugary liquid before putting the salt in the mix.

The yeat here isn’t for rise, it’s just for flavor so I don’t think it’s a problem

Yes Linda you can totally use it as a pizza base. You don't have to but you can pre bake it for 10 minutes then put your toppings on. It'll make it more crusty x

I find a lot of processed vegan products have way too many carbs and sugar.

That Z-gum makes it taste like crap, its slimy in your mouth. Just use ground flax seed and water, oil and some salt to make the flat bread.

Can you share the marcos? I've been looking at Violife in the Netherlands. I can't find the cheddar, but other products seem to be about 20% carbs.
It is not that easy to find! But I still think it is high in carbs! But mainly starch type! But the taste is amazing even without melting it

that cheese isn't very keto it's full of potato starch, about 20-25% carbs
I think it can be if the overall carb count for the day is low. Also, the amount isn’t much for the whole recipe
It has 6 grams net carbs per 28 grams serving. This entire recipe has 50 grams of the cheese, but divided up by 8, that's not a lot of carbs over a day's eating.
