For me I would slab and trim the stone to my desired shape be it free form or calibrated and then after do the treatment process. Then finalize process of further on the wheels and then polish, if need be, because I/we have invested additional Grits; 8,000, 14,000 and 50,000 and We are glad and Happy we did. OH YEAH, WE HAVE CABKING, BOY DID I DO RESEARCH ON CABBING MACHINES ESPECIALLY THE FIRST ONE IS FOR ROSIE/50yrs MARRIED TO HER!!! BEST DECISION I EVER MADE BESIDES THE NUMERO DECISSION PERIOD: THE GOD ALMIGHTY, JESUS, HOLY SPIRIT!!!

If you know anything about opal, you wouldn't be fooled into thinking it was black opal. But I'm sure unsuspecting people could be fooled
