I'm in the process of doing my first treatment on andamooka. Did you put the stones in the acid cold and heat it up all together or do you heat the acid and then put the stones in? What temp should the acid be?
You Smoke Ethiopian Opal to darken it and make it look black. I bought one and just wrapped it in tissue and then burned the tissue in an ashtray. It gets darker the more times you burn it. Kleenex doesn't burn well but it smolder and smokes which is what you want. I did it about five times in a row and my opal got darker each time and then the color inside of it looked mostly or all red. The opal itself was very dark brown when I stopped. Look up smoking opal on here and you will see it being done

hi how we can treat ethiopian opal in black
I'm pretty sure you can't treat Ethiopian opal in this way. Has a completely different matrix.
