- Bath bomb ornaments are beautiful! They make sparkling tree ornaments and make great gifts.
BATH BOMB RECIPE: 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup citric acid, 1/4 cup corn starch, + 10 milliliters fragrance, 2 milliliters polysorbate 80, 4 milliliters carrier oil, & 4 milliliters water OR liquid colorant. *Make 2 batches for interior/exterior mixes. OPTIONAL: Add 1/2 tablespoon of Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSa) [or a different powder surfactant] to exterior mix to slow down foam down.
DIRECTIONS: Sieve dry ingredients together. Mix wet ingredients separately. Add wet ingredients slowly while whisking. Add (SLSa) to the exterior mix and colorant to the interior mix. Mix & knead the batches well with your hands. The mixture should hold together when squeezed.
MOLDING: Add exterior mix to mold and hollow it out like a shell. Then fill it with interior mix. Pack it flat & sprinkle loose mix on top. Smoosh the 2 sides together tightly. Do short turns to grind molds together. Tap both sides to release the bomb. Dry bombs for 24 hours. Twist tiny hooks in the top, then drop a bit of alcohol on top to secure.
PAINT: Mix mica and alcohol together to make bath bomb paint. **Even if you don't want color, paint the bomb with a coat of alcohol as it creates a protective layer that lessens premature reactions caused by glitter glue. Without alcohol, the bomb will foam and bubble up wherever you put glitter glue. If you are painting with different colors, I HIGHLY recommend "mop" brushes (linked below). The brush makes a very fine point at the end and holds a LOT of liquid, giving you more control when painting and reducing the amount of times you have to dunk your brush in the cup.
GLITTER: GLUE: 5 milliliters liquid surfactant (I find ammonium lauryl sulfate works best) + 1 milliliter alcohol. The alcohol thins the surfactant and prevents premature reactions. The more glue you put on the bath bomb, the greater the chance of premature reactions taking place. Add mica to the glue to make it visible. Paint glue on a small area then (while glue is still wet) add glitter. Dry 24 hours then remove excess glitter. Last, add a ribbon to hang the ornament.

I love how you share your ideas with us. Ive learned so much from in the year and a half I've been watching you. If you had a patreon you're the only UA-camr I'd pay for. Your awesomeness is a blessing to me. 🥰🥰🥰
There is a $Thanks button on her videos you can use to show your appreciation for her efforts by way of a $ donation. I have done this before as a way of saying my thank yous :)
Well that is so sweet! I appreciate it. A patreon acct. is a great idea but I don't have extra time. 🙁 I WISH!
Thanks so much Auntie Triza!!!

Pretty awesome Dora is like you have to make those like two weeks in advance with all the drawing time
That's amazing! Not many channels share these ideas. I'm happy whenever your channel has more subscribers 😍

great one Dora, as allways!
Glad you like it!
I've watched all your videos, I loved them all ! I only have one questions: What os the function of polysorbate 80 in bath bomb, and is there any substitute for it in case I can't get it? Thank you very much!
Oh wow these are super cute!!! Your family are so lucky, I’d be pinching these if you were in my family. ❤😂
I’ve made these before but they didn’t look this good, the faceted mould is awesome, I just made round ones and put the ribbon in before smooshing them together, most were ok but a few fell off the tree cause I didn’t pack them tight enough 😂😂😂😂
I bet they were still cute as heck though!❤❤❤
@@Jane-West at first no, I stupidly made red and green interior ( they looked great dry) and luckily I tested them, they made a poo green water color😂😂😂 so I made the rest white with blue interior and painted light blue snowflakes on, they were super cute! ( eventually 🤦🏼♀️) 😂😂
Which alcohol is it ? I'm from India so if you can please reply I would search it here locally.
It's too bad that the ribbon couldn't be some kind of rice paper, and the hook also be something water soluble so the whole thing could be dunked in the water. They are so pretty though!
I agree. But these things are a bit heavy so no way anything else would've worked.
Way too much work for my small business. They look awesome though.
