Get Festive with Dissolving Christmas Tree Soap Petals!

- Learn how to make Christmas soap petals. They are single use soaps that completely dissolve in about 30 seconds. This project easy, quick, & requires only 2 things (soap & wafer paper). Plus, it makes wonderful gifts for Christmas, which is knocking on my door! Choose a simple shape that doesn’t have a lot of intricate detail. And, I’m not recommending you buy one just for this project, but I used my cameo because I’m not good at cutting out lots of little shapes… Possibilities are endless with this machine. I pulled it out to cut out the snowflakes & figured I’d use it for the trees, too. I recommend clear soap, especially if you plan on using mica. Opaque soap doesn’t show the sparkling luster of mica. Cut the soap down so it melts evenly. Melt the soap on low heat. You may melt it in microwave, too, however, the soap will start to cool & it needs to be hot to dunk the paper in. I kept my burner on low heat the entire time. Once its melted, add liquid colorant & mica. Fragrance is optional: add 1 milliliter of fragrance oil for each ounce of soap base. Dunk paper in soap, make sure it’s completely submerged. Then spray it with alcohol to remove bubbles. Allow extra soap to drip off, then drag the tip on the pot to remove soap that hasn’t dripped off. Allow the soap to completely dry, about 30 seconds, before putting it down. ** Dry soap completely before touching it. And limit grabbing it with fingers right after cooling; soap shows fingerprints well. To get different colors in your soap, drop liquid colorant in the pot, don’t mix it, then dunk the paper in as it is. You can get really cool effects & unexpected colors. ** Try different color combinations (put a few drops of teal or aqua liquid colorant in green soap). Wash your hands just like you normally would. The soap starts to get smaller right away & after about 20 seconds there’s only small pieces of paper left, but they quickly dissolve too. It is wafer paper so it will eventually dissolve completely, don’t worry about it going down the drain! This project can be applied to any holiday or occasion; hearts for Valentines, eggs for Easter, and so on. Happy petal-making!

that little terrarium is a great idea for a soap holder. so cute. dollar store finds are sometimes amazing! but when i go there, it easily becomes a $100 + store! by the time i walk out.LOL

@@CreativeBathLab sometimes i try and trick myself. i dont get a cart. thinking? of course maybe i can control myself if i have to carry everything, but nope, doesnt work..LOL its uselss to try and resist. just assume it will be an easy 100 bucks.LOL
