First trick any beginner learns is to air down. aluminum wheels; around 10 or 12 psi steel wheels;around 5 or 6 psi would have helped a lot in this case.
Come on people. Private property, jeep's winch and driveline broken. HE WAS HAVING FUN--if he wanted to do it the easy way he would have winched. As far as "destroying the trails" in my opinion I think he's improving them. Who wants trails to be rut free, smooth, AKA waaaay to easy!
That's actually happened to me once - I was actually using my vehicle to push someone, on flat ground, in light gravel. After about three attempts I leaned out the window and asked, "Is your parking brake on? No..? Are you sure, because...." Finally I walked up to him, leaned in, and POW, there's the parking brake pedal to the floor.
Jeep had a broken front axle and broken rear driveshaft. jeeps winch was also broken - I would say he's having a crap day. I guess the guy in the excursion forgot he had a wench.
Nothing like going back and forth over the same track. Sooner or later you will magically get traction. Keep digging, it will happen. What ever you do don't turn the wheel and steer onto the grass.
it's videos like this and the normal people mud bog videos that makes me appreciate the amount of money it takes to get the crazy wheel speed you see on sponsored trucks in big events.
winch are more for trail ridding Rock crawler stuff not for mudding. . go look at videos with those big monster trucks mudding none of them have a winch
Osvaldo Narvaez myself and many of my buddies all have 4 wheel drives and go mudding on a daily weekly basis and use winches constantly! You tend to fuck shit up when you do what these dumbasses are doing. You tend to keep things better in quality when you slowly winch yourself out that hammering on you vehicle repeatedly and jerking the hell out of you and your buddies vehicle
Cool X. I've got an '05 Eddie Bauer with the 6.0L PSD. It has more power than either the 7.3L Powerstroke or the V10 but it needs to be bulletproofed. New EGR Cooler and ARP Studs and the 6.0 is a great motor.
Instead of tearing up the hill and making it erode even faster, use the damn winch. Keep doing this shit and you'll keep tearing up the property and your truck
I'm a ford fan but jeeps are good too but I just can't seem to figure out how the hell they destroyed that jeep so much and excursions are good at off roading.
If both vehicles have winches, why aren't they using them? All you're doing is trenching out the trail. Someone in a "close to stock" vehicle has no chance of getting up that hill now.
trying to read through the comments... what size boggers? perfect size for that truck. doesn't make it overly huge... I like keeping my truck tubbed... ive got a 78 chevy, 6" lift and 40x17x16.5 hawgs.. lookin to go to 39.5 boggers or 42's and not lift it much...
Im gonna thumbs up this video simply because everytime Ive gotten diff deep , engine vapor locked, mud smellin like a dirty diaper stuck is near power lines.
Ford doesn't make them but there is a company that will take a brand new superduty truck and then take off the bed and attach the back of an excursion on so you pretty much have a 2015 excursion
Just trying to show off in his big ass excursion but failed to pull a small jeep out. Rather tear up his excursion than use the damn winch on the front.
Awesome video, I want a diesel excursion for camping and going into the back country in eastern WA. I was in a similar situation, except my friend's jeep pulled out my F-350, lolz.
The new owner will likely start posting in the near future. Truck is getting paint and some rework, Whole interior has been pulled for full Line X interior panel spray. That stuff seal every nook and cranny and makes for easy clean up. Fender flares were pulled to glass up inner fenders where cut out for flares were done. All the glass pulled except front, all rust blasted and primed, and a bunch of other stuff. She will be looking fine but be getting driven hard : )
8300 lbs of beast, sir..... 6 inches plus of mud, an incline and 3000 lbs of broke stuff you are pulling through the mud and up the incline equals impressive in my book...
Sure, you could have just used the winch, but then the video would have been super boring! That is a bad ass excursion. It looks like one of those Icelandic snow vehicles.
Um , You have a 12,000 lb Ford and a 4,000 lb jeep ..... Use the winch on the Excursion and pull the jeep up the hill ... Its because of stuff like this (i know its fun) that gives wheelers a bad name ... Now this property is all torn up and it could have been prevented by using the tools designed for recovery , THAT YOU BOTH HAVE .....
I agree with all of you. But the way hes choosing to go about this?...smh. save the motor on that beautiful Ford...save the time...save the ecosystem...but no... no just waste. USE THE FUCKING WENCH! U-FU-KING IDIOT!
A few years old. Just showed up, don't know why. Anyone aware that you can use a snatch block for pulling? A lot easier on everything. I do understand the reasoning behind the long rope. But if you don't have the power to stretch it, it won't work properly. And yes, they should all be asked not to return to that property.
That's badass!! In the begining , I thought the Excursion was just too heavy, but then, I see it dragging that turd behind it, ,,,😂😁 LMFAO,,,, no offense, I think jeeps are great, when they are in operational order, but I'd take the Excursion anytime baby !! I don't care what people say about that found on road dead shit... This Excursion is BADASS !! 👍
I hae the the excursion v10, this truck has a shit load of power but what i dont understand is coupled with the winch and tow straps he should have the reach, and is the jeep under power or disabled
Maybe its just me but hes makeing it harder for himself hes using a strap and yanking on the jeep hes looseing all his momentum when he snaps the strap and it springs him backwards get to the top of the hill turn around hook winch to the strap and winch him up! is that to hard to figure out ?

You didn't read what I said. 4lo gives you more torque, but limits wheel speed. wheel speed digs ruts and cleans the tires. It appears to take "all it had" because its up hill in mud--that excursion weighs 8000lbs easy, plus its tied to a 5000lb anchor (jeep) dry or unhooked it would have crawled up no problem.
I agree 12 min tying to tug a vehicle out half your size and making it harder for the other vehicles on the trail is not something i would be proud of posting on you tube.
i know this video is old but why didnt the ford turn around and use its own winch to get the jeep out with a little more ease and run the trail in reverse
I know people have already said this but my first thought seeing this was "seriously does this guy in the excursion not not he has a winch?" Which is a lot heavier than the Jeep to begin with
@RogerBuckChrist hmmm correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the 5.4 Triton was standard... I actually have the 7.3 and the option was only $4,999! Anyways, did you do any performance upgrades to your V10?
Ever heard of read the description? The front axle and rear drive shaft are broken. Putting the T-case in neutral wouldn't do a damn thing at that point.
It doesn't matter what you drive. It takes work to drag a vehicle with no power to the wheels up a muddy hill. Props buddy loving your truck.
It's like the guy in excursion doing everything in his power to make this all as hard as possible.
he as a winch I guess he don't know how to use it
Man im like whats goin on . Like make it all very hard instead of just get the jeep out. Coulda pulled it out or winch simple. Lol like just messing around i guess
nice winch is it a decoration.

Use that strap to anchor the Excursion and a snatch block and the winch holdin the camera and make one pull...
That's what I was thinking. But instead they decided to completely destroy the trail. Way to go guys.
First trick any beginner learns is to air down.
aluminum wheels; around 10 or 12 psi
steel wheels;around 5 or 6 psi

He made it harder getting the jeep out by rutting up the road. Use the winch.
Earlier his Ford almost got stuck and that's why I have a Chevy bcause Ford is Shit
@@monke5717 fuck your Chevy

Jose Marin 7.3 ford excursion is probably the most reliable suv you can buy fr. Don’t know any Chevy suvs with close to a million miles or more.
LowSlo 92 Fr dude. I honestly hope they start making excursions again
ill call this guy if i ever want a ditch dug.
LOL
Agreed. The winch would have taken half the time and left the trail in a useable condition rather than making huge ruts
He mentioned its broken in the description
No experience
Come on people. Private property, jeep's winch and driveline broken.
HE WAS HAVING FUN--if he wanted to do it the easy way he would have winched.
As far as "destroying the trails" in my opinion I think he's improving them. Who wants trails to be rut free, smooth, AKA waaaay to easy!
whether your Ford, Chevy or Dodge. we can all agree that the Excursion is a Beast!!
I am NOT a Ford Guy, but I had to get me one of these. I'm on my 2nd one right now
air down the tires to 5-10 psi you will be amazed..... trust me just try it.
Invest in a 1" kinetic bungee tow rope, too. Would have yanked it out on the first try.
That's what I was thinking! And are the treads worn down? It just doesn't look like they're hooking up as well as they should.
Not everyone has to option to air down cause not everyone has on board air
dude in the jeep is like, woops my parking brake was on
Lol

used to have a F350 with a V10. damn i miss that motor. Beautiful truck man!
For all you people saying why can’t the excursion use the winch it’s broke too

Why not use the winch on the front?
it's videos like this and the normal people mud bog videos that makes me appreciate the amount of money it takes to get the crazy wheel speed you see on sponsored trucks in big events.
Why not use the winch on the front of the Ford or Jeep..
thank you why didn't he?????

ya was kinda wondering the same thing..
+Torpedomtb lol was about to say the same, excursions are a nice big anchor.
guess they say somewhere that the winch on the jeep was broke at the time but still why not the excursions

I would highly recommend Sampson dock line for rubber banding dead weight, works way better than the towstrap
I dont like fords but that excursion is sweeet! and sounds real good too.
