- What a way to start a franchise! Can't wait for the next one!
p.s. I'm still weak from that eye contact scene 🫠
John Wick (2014) starring Keanu Reeves, Willem Dafoe, Michael Nyqvist and Alfie Allen
"I don't think I've ever rooted for revenge so much in my life. "
And that is why they killed the dog. I haven't seen one reactor complain about the violence in this movie. Kill a dog, and even the ladies are screaming bloody murder. Brilliant writing!!
i heard the dog was a bit of a ate audition and originally they were going to have the wife killed but people kept complaining it was too violent so they changed it to the dog and the complaints stopped
@@johnpaullogan1365
They first didn't want to kill the dog because it would be considered "too violent" and they were afraid they would get all sort of anti animal cruelty groups on them.
But they showed 2 versions in closed circles...
where they beat him up and stole the car.
And where they killed Daisy and stole the car after beating him up.
They almost cancelled the whole movie over this dilemma because of fear of repercussions.
Thank God they had the balls to keep this version and release it.
“Kill a dog and even the ladies are screaming bloody murder” …. correction, kill a puppy and ESPECIALLY the ladies will be willing to deal death upon those responsible. Yet you’re correct, it’s the exact reason they had it in the movie, in 99.9% of the viewer’s minds all the carnage that follows is “justified” due to the puppy being killed.
Yes, Chrissie. Constantine was good. Very underrated movie.
Supposedly Keanu said that hed love to reprise his role as Constantine. I think theyre may be making a 2nd? We shall see.
The TV show was really good. Matt Ryan plays an amazing Constantine. Even better than Keanu imo lol but love both.
Constantine is one of my favorites.
So Chrissie loves the bbc
11 months later, I'm agreeing. One of the best comic-book movies, period. And one of Keanu's best, too!
I'm shocked by how many UA-camrs don't get that stealing the car and beating up John (which led to killing Daisy) isn't just about the car for Iosef. For Iosef, it's about "respect," and I put that in quotes because what it's really about is Iosef's insecurity. He's a spoiled weakling and a coward and lives in fear of having to admit it. When John stood up to him by refusing his offer and showed him up by getting the last word and made him look foolish for assuming John wouldn't understand Russian, Iosef lost face in front of his goons, so he felt the need to re-assert his dominance and retake his "dignity" by punishing John. That's like Psychology of Bullies 101.
It was a 1969 Boss Mustang 429. There were alittle over 800 made and one sold in 2015 for $550,000 .
@@nathanpfeffer9821 Which are not even an issue for a spoiled brat whose whims are indulged by the influence and wealth of the Tarasova crime syndicate.
@@waterbeauty85 I agree with everything you said above. Why is someone bringing up the make and model of the car? John Loved his Wife. John Loves his car. The only Spec that matters is that the Car is owned by John Wick.
Thank you for pointing that out. So many miss that. The same reason that Viggo had to make, at least, a token effort to kill John and save his son. If he had just given him up, or tried to buy John off, he would have looked weak and lost face in his organization. So he had to send the kill team. And why, when they had him, they couldn't just kill him when he was unconscious. To do that would show his men he was still scared of him. So he had to wake him up, question him, and torture him him before killing him. But, when John had a shotgun to his face, and they were alone, he could cut his son loose, having tried to save him.
I'm shocked you typed that
I love the symbolism of John destroying the foundation of his new life, the basement floor, to re-enter his old life, the guns and coins. Poetry.
oooh, yes!!
Putting the hammer down.
Rule 1 of film making: Never kill the dog
Rule 2 of film making: If the dog dies, so too the one that killed it.
Viggo is played by Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist, who first became internationally popular in _The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo_ (2009) - the original Swedish-language version, not the David Fincher-directed English-language remake - and its two sequels. He was usually very interesting to watch on-screen and his acting was great too.
Sadly Michael passed away in 2017 at the age of just 56 after succumbing to lung cancer.
One of my favorite lines in this movie, DaFoe "Let's get on with this, whatever the f@ck this is" with such utter disdain. My man going out in style.
Man said sh*t or get off the pot 😅
What do John Wick and Up have in common? Both will leave you traumatized 10 minutes into the film and leave you with tears of joy at the end.
Keanu was asked recently what movie he would like to do a sequel, and he said Constantine... so, yes, it is an amazing movie.
i was never a fan of keanu's constantine. matt ryan did a far better job although he was hamstrung by the writing in his series. the character didn't really get done extremely well till they brought matt ryan back in dc's legends of tomorrow
@@johnpaullogan1365BRRRUHHH your opinion friend, the tv series was decent fairly in the same level of dark lore & biblical meaning but it was not at all better than Keanu’s Constantine and not just as a fan waiting to hear for long awaited sequel to that movie OOMMFFGGG.
There is so many who straight ignore the biblical aspects behind good vs evil have no idea nor care about it for whatever flesh reason, which I feel sorry for them because almost everyone chooses to follow the dark-side 🙄 and some aren’t even aware of it.
peter stromare as the devil was THE performance of the movie.....
my favorite version of the devil besides the tv-show lucifer....
@@johnpaullogan1365you’re a dunce
"Francis" (The Red Circle Bouncer) was played by Wrestling Superstar Kevin Nash.
Keanu did 90% of his own Stunts and there's UA-cam videos of his Firearm/Combat training that will blow your mind!
ooh, thanks!!
@@chrissiereactsyou asked if Constantine is any good. I think it is a good movie that far to few react to.
Yea the video of him running the 3 gun course at tarrin tactical is insane. He also brought Halle berry with him to get her ready in one of the sequels
This movie is my personal favourite in all of the John Wick series with legendary dialogues 😊❤️
It also broke me when you cried on that scene when they killed the dog 💔
BTW your reaction was so priceless and you were even looking the prettiest 🫶✨
Great reaction Chrissie. A couple data dump tidbits for you. Keanu came up with that move to flip away the spent magazines. His instructors were so impressed with it that they teach it to others now. The doorman at the club (Francis) had John ask how much weight he had lost. he was actually asking how many bad guys were there. His answer was 60. The dog at the end had a tag on it's cage that said he was due to be put down. That's why John took him. Also that dog is actually Keanu's real dog. The guy who killed the 1st puppy felt so bad about that scene that he later adopted the pup and took it home. Chrissie, you are going to love the rest of the series, No spoilers from me but trust me great guest stars and the action gets even more intense. you will also learn more about some of the characters. Have great Holidays. Stay safe and well.
Nice reactions, subbed - oh, and yes, Constantine is VERY good - didn't do well at the movies, I'd never heard of it until I saw it - and then, wow! Definitely a "Cult Classic" - well worth a reaction vid... :)
Awesome thank you! I'm excited to check it out now :)
Yeah, Constantine is one of those movies I can go back to anytime and enjoy. I've seen it probably close to 30 times and could watch it again if I need a comfort movie. Definitely a worth a watch.
one of my fav movie series of the decade
Loved the editing and use of the Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction. Remember watching that series as a kid and absolutely loved it.
Yes, Constantine is awesome. Underrated IMO.
Constantine is an excellent movie. Underrated.
My first video of yours. You are ridiculously awesome. I am off to queue and watch all your other vids.
Thank you so much!! ☺️
we've seen a lot of james bonds, rambos and john mcclanes but john wick reinvented the action genre where the protagonist is much of a force than the villain.
Constatine didn't do well at the box office but its one of those films that has really gained a lot of appreciation over time. Kind of like Dune, Mad Max etc.
Oh sweety… ur tears. Made a gentleman’s heart go out to you and whisper: there there 😊
… and yes, Constantine was definitely worth the watch. Typically keanu quirkiness supernatural movie. Will it win Oscar’s? Probably not… but I quite enjoyed this: sit back on the sofa n just enjoy, movie.
Yeah, Constantine is a good movie. Worth seeing, for sure.
If you look really closely at the paperwork that was on the pitbull's cage it said that it was to put down, so John saved the dog's life. And when you see John walking off with the pitbull, he's walking it past the same spot where his wife collapsed before she was taken to the hospital.
The little details in this movie! I didn't piece that together with the bridge and what a beautiful way to come full circle. I don't know why this movie has such an emotional pull on me lol
You are right that the actor who played the concierge at the hotel passed away. His name was lance Reddick and he did voice acting as well as on screen characters. He voiced commander zavala in the destiny franchise. When he passed away, the players spent days visiting his in game character to play tribute because he also played the game and interacted with some of them. Rip lance.
Ps. The actor who played viggo(the russian boss) also passed away recently but i cant remember his name irl
Awesome reaction keep it up 👍🏽 this is one of my favorite movies
Thank you!! :)
"I thought this was a revenge story because they murdered his wife."
No; Worse. Much much worse.
Another good one. Thanks for this!
Constantine is one movie Keanu Reeves said he would make a sequel for ..when asked which movie deserves a sequel….
I appreciate the Beyond Belief references. 😂
Constantine is great. I went into thinking it was gonna be a B movie. It wasn't. Great story, great acting, great action. I would love to see a sequel.
I've heard nothing but good things in the comments. Definitely gonna check it out!
Marcus asked if the contract was "open" that's why he took the job, to protect him, another thing people miss is outside of the red circle when he asks Francis about his weight he says it in kilograms but the subtitles say 60 LBS... 60 LBS in kilograms is basically 27 Kg.. the number of gaurds inside, that's why Francis walked.. and the fight scenes are awesome because the film director was Keanu's stunt double in the first 3 matrix movies
Actually he asked if it was exclusive. And viggo said no it’s open
@sharronbrennon899 ok, yes... I was trying to keep it simple... the fact that it wasn't exclusive just to him and that it was "open" is why he agreed to do it.. he asked if it was exclusive to find out if it was "open"... basically asking if it was "open" at the end of the day
@TrickyDicky2006 I was one who overlooked that and 47 RONIN for like 6-7 yrs and then watched them... Keanu's not in this, but "ghost dog: the way of the samurai" is a great movie that gets overlooked as well
he answered 20 kg
constantine is very good, it has a ton of great performances in it. i highly recommend it.
I like how Willem dafoes apartment is much like his Norman Osbourne's 😂
Constantine is a great movie. I have probably watched it 15 plus times. If you are in it for the story and not the budget of the movie it's a kick ass movie. Just FYI😁
Smiles Sweets!
The Dog the John took, was scheduled to be put down. hence saving it.
Aww at 3:25 i just noticed that he has a bunch of dog stuff in his backseat. Ive seen this movie countless times but its the first time i saw that lol
😭
Just found and subscribed to your channel. So glad you are doing this franchise. Looking forward to the rest then hope you jump on the equalizer franchise as well with Denzel Washington. Those are also great! Loved your reaction by the way!!
Thank you!! I'll add it to my list 😊
I used to have a trained ridgeback pitbull mix that got stabbed trying to save me & my housemate in a home invasion. 4 on 2 with her help we messed them up, but I got arrested for leaving the scene to take her to a vet. Never slept on my bed though she was far too professional haha
Great reaction, lovely lady. Looking forward to more from you. Big thanks! 🤗
Thank you!! 😊
Just found your channel this morning. Great reaction to John Wick. All the Wick movies are very good. I heard you ask if Constantine is good. Even me as an agnostic loves Constantine. I really hope the ,ake a part two. Look forward to seeing more of your reactions.
Thank you! Yeah people keep praising Constantine... for sure adding it to my list!
Kinda cool how with the scene on the street showing the "Red Circle" club happens and we comeback to a shot of Chrissie there is a red circle framed mirror on the wall behind her 😊
Fun fact 29:21 the dog at the end is actually Keanu's dog
A little fun fact:
The guy who was tasked with “hitting and killing Daisy” in the shot was actually a huge dog lover. The day they shot that scene, he was visibly upset on set the whole day and he walked around holding and petting the dog that played Daisy pretty much the whole day. I’ve always found that to be an interesting fact about someone who was tasked to kill the dog.
I believe he also adopted the dog and the pitbull at the end is Keanu's actual pet.
He purchased the beagle from the trainer and has it to this day
Head shots are around 70, counting 2nd/3rd head shots in the same head, closer to 100. & John helped Vigo build his empire, Vego is well aware of what John is going to do. Give up his son? What are his options. Send his son to the other side of the world to a hut w/out electricity 'maybe'. Or just call John & tell him he's here, come pick him up. Because he already 'knows' it's over. It's when, not if.
Someone has prob suggested this but the Jason Bourne rabbit hole is a pretty good one to explore. Unless u’ve already seen them.
It's on my list!
Viggo did give up his son to save himself, but what were his options? He knew that even if he didn't tell John where Iosef was, John would find out eventually anyway, so he might as well keep himself alive since nothing could save Iosef.
Constantine is really fun.
Constantine is very good and very underrated...Its worth a reaction.
yes, constantine is GOOD..... not very true to the comics, but good nonetheless...
edit: and just in case nobody mentioned it by now,
the dog, that John took from the shelter, had a note on the cage, marking it to be put down...
so john´s last act of the movie, he saved a life....
Constantine is a unique movie, it's unique in that the main stream viewer didn't understand any background on the story. Which is why it didn't do so well in the box office. But as many have pointed out in the years since, it has only increased in popularity. Constantine's path is similar to movies like the Crow, Blade, Resident Evil, and Sucker Punch in that none of them smashed at the box office, but have since become a large part of people's movie library. The"cult" classic status of you will.
I see that people were talking about Francis telling John how many men were inside the club, but this is how he did it. When John asks how much weight Francis lost, Francis actually says in Russian 27 kgs. Twenty-seven kilograms is roughly 60 lbs. when converted from metric, and there are 27 guards in the club.
I have heard however that they mistranslated the number 27 in Russian and he accidentally said 20 kgs. but it was supposed to be 27.
Francis was the second most clever guy in this movie after first placed Jimmie
When talking to Francis he told John how many men there are in the building.
Also look back and the fathers substance use as the movie goes on.
Ooh! That makes sense! I didn't put that together.
You: "I thought they killed his wife and this was a revenge story."
Me: "Oh it's revenge alright...."
14:42 The eye contact. Yeah, I really like that too, but it served a purpose too, because John had to make sure the man was dead before he removed his hand from over his mouth. Just in case he had enough breath left in him to call out or to warn someone over the radio that John was there.
That makes sense! I think I was too overwhelmed to think of that detail lol
subtle pop *barf* 😂
I really suggest that you watch the next movie and complete the entire series before to much time passes.
Constatine did alright it's amazing Visuals had a great deal in it being worth to watch to give the viewer a peek into world of The Hellraiser Comic's character John Constatine...what was the downside of it all towards fans of the comics is how Constatine in the film was not played by a British actor and little bit of some other factors...but beside all of that like i said before it is still a Movie worth to watch
Big Chris was played by Vinnie Jones an ex footballer who was renowned for being viscious. The intro of Bullet tooth Tony in Snatch is a homage to that car door scene.
Google Vinnie Jones Paul Gasgoine. You'll get an idea of how viscious Vinnie was on the pitch in the images 😂
The concierge is also in Fringe (an interesting TV series)
If you want something else vaguely similar to John Wick with links to it Mark Dacoscos (who was one of the assassins trying to kill him in one or two of the episodes) did a film called Crying Freeman (decent straight to video, I enjoyed it enormously and still watch it intermittently), on a related theme
Real world, people kill others for shoes or jackets or hats or a few dollars or a perceived wrong look. There are evil people in this world - sociopaths (the old term) that have no moral compass or empathy for others. It is well to remember such, and to live life with that awareness.
Chrissie - just to point out, like many, I think, I click on "Videos" when checking for your content in order, then I might go to "Playlists" - but Trading Places is in your playlists (Comedy's/80's), but NOT in your videos - lotsa viewers might miss these :). EDIT - darn, Trading Places isn't in your Playlist folder, even if it's showing on the folder screen - but yet another movie (McGruber) is! This is confusing...
Yes, unfortunately Trading Places got blocked recently. The copyright strikes are insane... it's honestly pretty frustrating! I spent a couple days trying to fix it to get it cleared to no avail. I finally gave up. It's a shame too because it was my very first upload and I put a LOT of time into the edit. I was really proud of it... but anyway! I may try to re-upload it at some point. Maybe next Christmas. Thanks for looking out! I appreciate it 😊
This movie is awesome
Great reaction Chrissie like always, i love the John Wick franchise all of them. This is one delightful surprise in the film was the creation of the hit man subcultureOne delightful surprise in the film was the creation of the hit man subculture. What makes the dogs death scene hit HARDER is the fact that, if you pay close attention, there's a blood trail. His puppy crawled over TO him to die. :( If you notice the end scene with the bridge in the back, that's where his wife died. He knew he couldn't make it back to the continental so he went there because he knew it had medical supplies. And some fun facts, John Wick got his name from a real person. When Kolstad was writing Scorn, he decided to name his protagonist after his grandfather, John Wick, a businessman who owned Wick Building Systems in Madison, Wisconsin. Kolstad was initially worried his grandfather might not consider it a compliment, Wick is a contract killer, after all, but the real Wick was flattered. “I was tickled by Derek using my name for a movie, and the hit man character was frosting on the cake,” the real Wick told Madison magazine in 2017. The studio never really wanted John Wick's dog to die. Despite everything in the John Wick series being set in motion by the senseless murder of his dog Daisy, Lionsgate executives were apprehensive about that particular plot detail. As Hollywood thinking goes, audiences hate seeing animals harmed. The detail was in flux right up until a preview screening, in which audiences understood it would take a serious infringement to get Wick out of retirement. “There was this pushback and pushback from all different angles until that first screening,” Derek Kolstad said in 2020. “We were watching the audience. As soon as the dog died, and seeing their reaction and then seeing the siege in house, we were like, yep, we were right.” Btw if you are wondering what was the body count is this movie the number is 77. Keep up the amazing work.
Classical 🎭
Between takes the actor that "killed" the dog was so upset about scaring the puppy that he would pick it up and cuddle with it.
The dog's trainer would rename the puppy "Wick" after the movie's success.
If you like Willem Dafoe, check out the movie Boondock Saints. One of his absolute best in my opinion.
They stole his car and killed his dog to teach him a lesson. He denied them what they wanted and people like that are not used to being told no. There are people in the world that would do far worse for far less where a lack of respect is in question.
Constantine is a brilliant film and definitely underrated in my opinion, you should watch it 😊
i personally thought Constantine was hella good (no pun intended). Would absolutely love to see ur reaction to that movie!
In 2015 at the Scottsdale Auction, an original Boss 429 sold for $550,000.00. Today the same car would fetch considerably more. So when it was stolen, by Viggo Tarasov, that was a half million dollar heist, worthy of retribution besides the Daisy (dog) thing which is f-ed up.
2:56 you’re the only reactor I’ve seen that’s pointed that out. I thought that the first time watching it. 7:49 I wasn’t a big fan of Keanu’s version of Constantine. I enjoyed the TV series much better with Matt Ryan. Keanu is working on a sequel to Constantine currently. 27:59 the dog he picked was scheduled to be put down which is why he chose it. To give it a second chance along with himself.
Have you seen Fringe? That's where I was introduced to Lance Reddick. Amazing show.
I haven't seen it but I've heard people that watch it, LOVE it
You cannot hide your love for a bad boy 😂
As soon as i heard you say revenge for killing the wife. I was like OH it's soooo much worse
I recommend watching Hacksaw Ridge and Lone Survivor great war movies based on true events
Constantine is... Silly fun. Not terribly faithful to the source material (but at the time no comic book movie was) and as long as you don't think too hard about it, it's a fun ride.
Have you seen the matrix, the director of John wick movies is Keanu reeves stuntman from the matrix movies
I saw the first one and yeah that makes total sense!
Please react the entire series..thank you.
Constantine is DEFINITELY worth the watch!!!

You could react to the Firefly series. It's short season only 14 episodes. But the fans "Browncoats" will come and there are a lot of them. Plus you will probably like it too.
You said the Firefly series and instantly I was thinking YESSS!!!. And then I realized you weren’t talking about the same Firefly series lol. I was thinking about the Rob Zombie Firefly trilogy of House of 1000 Corpses, Devil’s Rejects, and 3 From Hell.
My concern with 1 season series is that I get invested then disappointed when it ends too soon.
that sounds fun!
@@chrissiereacts Well there is the movie and a bunch of graphic novels. Plus if you like Nathan Fillion there is a nice shot of him with nothing on but a modesty patch on his "twig and berries". There are 14 episodes and they all are very well done. It is a tragedy they got canceled but I still love to watch them. If you do watch them the fans will fill you in on the MANY theories about the "Verse". And we will see you laugh, cry, aww and want to smack someone upside the head.
I highly recommend the modern frontier trilogy written by Taylor Sheridan. Incredibly powerful movies that are extremely underrated here on UA-cam. They consist of sicario, hell or high water, and wind river. The first one is pretty popular as it was directed by Dennis Villenueve, but the other two only have a couple reactions.
