Take notes game designers!! This is how you create an experience! The level design & joke was amazingly fitted with the music as well. One of the most memorable levels of all time. (And so small and simple)
I love how this music theme starts off all sounding threatening like you're about face off against someone deadly; but then the music gets more light hearted since you realize your opponent is just a sheep dressed as a pumpkin scarecrow.
I really love this track! It starts so dark like you really get the feeling that Gnasty Gnorc has taken over the entire dragon lands and then the refrain comes and the sun rises. Spyro the hero is here to save you all! I have goose bumps everytime I listen to this masterpiece again
I know it sounds cheesy as fuck, but I use this song in daily life when things start off bad and negative but I'll know they'll get better. I feel confident listening to this
Part of my childhood. I get so nostalgic when I hear this song. I used to get lost in the backdrop of the level, and the music was beyond quality. This, was a well made game...
This level and music is the best in any Spyro game by far, which means it is my favorite of any game. Spellbinding and haunting, so immersive. It takes you into the world of Spyro perfectly and I never want to leave it. Genuinely get goosebumps hearing it every time!
It's amazing how he gets such a dark sound out of relatively "wacky sounding" instruments. Also, for the theory buffs, it's in major. To pull that off and not be in minor is pretty impressive.
Definitely the darkest track in the game, you get that chill, love it :D 4:01 Is the true ending to this track that was missed off in the new version. The new version just goes into a continuous loop which also meant the alternative tracks were also cut.
And of course the epic part with the guitar riffs playing Spyro's theme song is the perfect accompaniment to when he charges in and starts kicking butt, toasting everything in his path! ;)
Haha, I was so scared of this level too! I used to have to run around in circles until the music got 'happy' at like 1:30 mark otherwise I couldn't play it and would cry if I died. Ohhh the memories.
I love how often the theme melody comes back throughout this entire soundtrack. We also hear it in Beast Makers home world and Jacques. Same melody, same riff, but with a very different feel each time. It’s brilliant composing.
I remember as a kid I didn't even know that this was a boss level and wondered why it wrote "Confronting" Toasty instead of "Entering" just like in all other realms. 😂😂
I remember going through Toasty as a kid. I wasn't even afraid. But this song will always be memorable to me because of how it gets soft and then downright terrifying when you play through this level, which is why I love Spyro the Dragon's music, especially Spyro 2 and Spyro 3 in the 90s. I think I've listened to every single Spyro track that Stewart Copeland ever created! He's a genius!
4:07 childhood memories is in a distance and you are in the future as an adult, the times when everything was good and not a care in the world...all behind....as a beautiful memory, thank you spyro
"Hey, didn't I already free you?" "You're in Gnasty's World now, Spyro, and YOU are the dragon who must defeat him." "Bring him on, I'm ready!" "Reach the exit in each of Gnasty's lands, then you can challenge the Gnorc himself."
I remember playing this back in '98. When my 7-year-old self listened to the opening of this track I thought I stumbled into something I shouldn't have. Then, of course, toasty turned out to just be a sheep... A lot of the music in the first game had an intensity that I don't think was captured in following games of the original trilogy.
So Nostalgic... Every spring we finally get some bright light here, so I crack the back window blinds open so the ambient light stream's through, spark up a joint & play this jam. Long Live The classics, Long Live Happy Old Memories ! ^_^
When I was younger I would try to race throughout the entire castle and kill everything before the beat hit the climax, then I'd wait until it picked up and fight Toasty - it was so epic.
One thing ironic about this level is that it's a very dark hellish type of level.. yet the enemies are shepherds and shepherd dog's.... So there's sheep herders in hell? ....
i always thought the levels went through the day, the early one in a world is always morning with green and blue skies and then as you progress they get darker and orange
Camero56 Toasty's world is technically the last one for the artisan's world right? which has kinda like a sunset background, but there's another world which is midnight so I'm not so sure about your theory
Shahrooz Smith naw i meant at camero's theory. but thinking about it both could work in a way. If you take that midnight world as the last one and then do toasty's it'll be like going through from morning to night then to hell.
I love how the organ melody returns in Spyro : Riptos Rage. It is in the areas (Idol Springs) and (Fracture Hills) - AKA (Spyro 1 inspired level). This is also my favorite track in Spyro 1. :D
lol i'm sure a costume store will have one. i think the harder part is getting a pumpkin on my head and putting the carrot in the pumpkin for the nose xD
Last time I played this level, a strange thing happened to me. One of those dogs jumped and tried to attack from me but it jumped too high and it disappeared from sight. Oh, and I love this song!
I remember standing near the start area, afraid to venture elsewhere because of the dogs and looking at the sky and at the castle in the distance. I was convinced from the boxart that the castle was where the final battle took place and kept trying to reach the castle, with no sucess.
I remember first playing Toasty when I was a kid, and the music in it, along with those dogs, It scared me XD. Good Old Childhood memories and a Class Theme too. Stewart Copeland is a real Genius :D
omg i love spyro^^ especially the first one. that one was the best, with all the awesome songs XD **sigh** it brings back memories^^ thx for putting this up :D
.... *Opens mouth to say something.* ....*Closes mouth.*.. It's really just a bunch of sheep in a scarecrow costume.. I think it was like a training session for spyro with the dragons... but...eh.. The dogs were more threatening than Toasty.
i dont get how everyone interprets this song as happy and uplifting...it sounds like something dangerous beginning but hiding in the shadows, hidden, before it STRIKES, and everything goes to hell.
2:15-2:17 sounds like you can hear the Wizards or Druids of the game chanting faintly in the background. Either them or just really cool sound effects to make you feel like a true warrior.
Toasty is one of my most favorite Home-world portals, ever, and the music too. :) The whole thing that I like about it... is just about those Wolves, the hot Lava if Spyro looks down... or just everything about it. It is just a very creative world, to me, and it is pretty fun, too. Especially with the BOSS BATTLE PART. Which then only turns out to be a SHEEP! LOL! ^0^
Stewart Copeland, what a composer.
He is a master!
Yep
Indeed
Even as the former drummer of The Police
Basically composed our childhood and passively influenced me to play progressive metal
+Kirstie Perkins
Haha for me the whole music is threatening :p
I know, after that we were all like "not so tough now, huh?"
Kirstie Perkins I swear Stewart Copeland knew what he was doing!!!
I really love this track! It starts so dark like you really get the feeling that Gnasty Gnorc has taken over the entire dragon lands and then the refrain comes and the sun rises. Spyro the hero is here to save you all! I have goose bumps everytime I listen to this masterpiece again
peter silva no thx :P
I know it sounds cheesy as fuck, but I use this song in daily life when things start off bad and negative but I'll know they'll get better. I feel confident listening to this
Aaron 117 Nothing cheesy about that, don't every one of us do that?
I do all the time too helps me bring my self back when things go to far, it's a spiritual medicine
What do you think I looked it up for? 😅
Gang
it's the incredible power of the 1990s man, it's UNBEATABLE!!
1:22 This is the most uplifting thing in existence
:)
:)
TiberianLeo 😆
I used to start laughing when this part started because it sounds like the main theme
:)
"Be careful, Spyro! This boss has many tricks up his sleeve!"
let me at em I think I smell a barbeque
*walks in circles*
French traduction for toasty was croustillant 😂😂
This song genuinely gives me goosebumps
BIG facts. My favorite track in the whole game
Me too
Probably the most epic song in the Spyro series ever.
Fourteen years later and it's still dope! :D
The beginning is the quiet buildup of tension and suspense before the battle, and 1:20 is when the attack begins.
Spot on analysis 😁
I always love when that part plays right after the victory.
Spyro's soundtracks are amazing.
I like the end credits of this game where it says something like "No Sheep Were Harmed In This Game", lol ; D
+WarriorOfTheHeavens "A few Gnorcs, but no sheep."
Jake Smith Poor gnorcs though, they just wanted a quiet game
Oh, sheep were definitely harmed *in* the game, just not during the making of it.
WOF WOF WOF *splat*
"I think I smell a barbecue!"
4:06 - One of my favorite sounds in existence.
I KNOW right? They use it Abe's Exoddus as well. I think it's some kind of electronic swell, but I've never been able to recreate it.
One of my favorite songs out of all the Spyro games, always been totally badass.
Emily Scheib Makes you wanna fly man!!
Super dope. I agree it is unmatched to this day
The snare in this is godly. The whole soundtrack is really.
That bass tho!!!
+Karamelle Drizzle
this girl knows!
Damn right!
The feels man, the feels
Aaron 117 Yes LAWDT!
"Be careful Spyro. This boss has many tricks up his sleeve." ....I see what you did there.
3:56-4:12 gives me chills... It sounds like Spyro is walking away from his victorious battle in slow motion.
lol, in the new version, this part of the song was cut out and just goes on an endless loop back to 2:07
@@murphycreationsvideos Which is why im glad they gave you an option to choose the original music
I always tried to sync up going through the return home portal with this part!
Also I love how in the beginning you can hear a harp playing faintly in the background to match the beauty of the Artisans' home world.
I remember when I first enter this level as a Kid those Dogs really scared me:P
They're dangerous. Gotta be careful when you torch 'em.
ROOF ROOF
Literally me, they were terrifying as a kid lmao
This is and always will be THE best game music ever.
1:37-1:38
THAT is the moment I get goosebumps all over my body! God this is still one of the best soundtracks ever composed.
Facts. That part always gets me every time. Especially that beat drop.
Listening to this with headphones is really something else
Part of my childhood. I get so nostalgic when I hear this song. I used to get lost in the backdrop of the level, and the music was beyond quality. This, was a well made game...

Sometimes we forget that great music actually makes a great game even better, like this one.
Absolutely
1:22 has helped me stop from killing myself many times.
Aaron 117 I know it's been a year, but I hope you're okay. I've had to go through a suicide recently.. :'(
@@aiellamori it's been a while since you commented, but I hope you're doing okay as well.
Aaron 117 I hope you're okay. Remember what you feel is normal and many other people have gone through those negative thoughts. You are not alone.
Probably the best soundtrack in Spyro 1.
1:22 My goodness.. **On full volume**
Boys we’ve done it. The remaster is on its way.
Hell yeah
Be really careful, Toasty here has many tricks up his sleeves.
It is on!!!
Yes it's here, the remaster! BUT, I wish they would release it on nintendo switch :/
@@emwjmannen2 Pretty soon right now to be released.

Again, another true classic!
Antoine Boone your moms a classic
Aaron Luna I must say, you've burned me pretty well with that comment.
"Hey, didn't I already free you?"
"You're in Gnasty's World now, Spyro, and YOU are the dragon who must defeat him."
"Bring him on, I'm ready!"
"Reach the exit in each of Gnasty's lands, then you can challenge the Gnorc himself."
I miss my childhood so fucking much
It also plays in Gnasty’s World.
I remember playing this back in '98. When my 7-year-old self listened to the opening of this track I thought I stumbled into something I shouldn't have. Then, of course, toasty turned out to just be a sheep... A lot of the music in the first game had an intensity that I don't think was captured in following games of the original trilogy.
that moment you know shit got real
+tyrantking9000 Even though the boss was a total joke.
yep. wasn't expecting fodder as a boss.
+tyrantking9000 This song low key was for those damn dogs
I still forget this guy's a boss
I have to say, when I first tried this level, I looked a little sheepish...
MANIC XŠ We were all sheep when we first played this level, but we left as dragons!
So Nostalgic... Every spring we finally get some bright light here, so I crack the back window blinds open so the ambient light stream's through, spark up a joint & play this jam. Long Live The classics, Long Live Happy Old Memories ! ^_^
The song of my childhood! 😭💜
I remember being so scared when I flamed a dog and it turned black and jumped at me.....
Calmminded94 I forgot about those hounds actually until you said something
Me too. They got me so scared that I always skipped this level..
"This boss has many tricks up his sleeve!"
*Stands there menacingly*
When I was younger I would try to race throughout the entire castle and kill everything before the beat hit the climax, then I'd wait until it picked up and fight Toasty - it was so epic.
What is that sweeping pad patch 4:07 ? Is it just from the Kurzweil K2500 he used? I hear it a lot in other OSTs of the era.
This one always cheers me up.
Bring it on! I think I smell a barbecue!!
One thing ironic about this level is that it's a very dark hellish type of level.. yet the enemies are shepherds and shepherd dog's.... So there's sheep herders in hell? ....

Camero56 Toasty's world is technically the last one for the artisan's world right? which has kinda like a sunset background, but there's another world which is midnight so I'm not so sure about your theory
Well it is based on perspective.. You see a sunset, I see us falling into the pits of Hell with evil shepherds and demon dogs.
+Bles Blue (Soul.v2) Sunrise?
Shahrooz Smith naw i meant at camero's theory. but thinking about it both could work in a way. If you take that midnight world as the last one and then do toasty's it'll be like going through from morning to night then to hell.
God I love this one
Coming back to Spyro's music after Square Eyed Jack's video. Man this is a dope soundtrack
I love how the organ melody returns in Spyro : Riptos Rage. It is in the areas (Idol Springs) and (Fracture Hills) - AKA (Spyro 1 inspired level). This is also my favorite track in Spyro 1. :D
I'm a big fan of The Police, but this right here might be the greatest thing Stewart Copeland has ever done
Me too, their music is great :)
One of the best video game compositions ever imo.
Cant wait to hear this playing again! Wake me up when September comes.
i'm so dressing up as this guy for halloween he's the coolest sheep in town!
That just gave me an idea for a cosplay.
cool :D !! we need more pumpkin people in this world xP
lol i'm sure a costume store will have one. i think the harder part is getting a pumpkin on my head and putting the carrot in the pumpkin for the nose xD
@Bobevin™ thats awesome!! Im hyped for you
i want this song on spotify
Gnasty Gnorc created 6 accounts just to dislike this video. Not because he hated Spyro or Toasty, but because he's still salty this wasn't his theme.
Haha
lol, yeah
It was the theme for his homeworld tho
I just realised that Toasty is the original Capra demon. Not a hard boss, but unless you're careful his dogs will tear you to shreds.
This brings back so many memories of when I was little. :) Good Times!!!
Last time I played this level, a strange thing happened to me. One of those dogs jumped and tried to attack from me but it jumped too high and it disappeared from sight. Oh, and I love this song!
What I am expecting:a very intimating scarecrow
What I got:a sheep disguise as a scarecrow
Im happy to know i wasn't the only one scared of the dogs lol.
I actually forgot about them until just now reading the comments.
This level may explain my recurring nightmare about being chased by dogs
This takes me back to my childhood I was 6 years old
I remember standing near the start area, afraid to venture elsewhere because of the dogs and looking at the sky and at the castle in the distance. I was convinced from the boxart that the castle was where the final battle took place and kept trying to reach the castle, with no sucess.
Absolutely my favorite song on this soundtrack
Those dogs turned out to be one of the hardest enemies in the game! Taking 2 flames like a boss!
I remember first playing Toasty when I was a kid, and the music in it, along with those dogs, It scared me XD. Good Old Childhood memories and a Class Theme too. Stewart Copeland is a real Genius :D
How anyone can dislike this is completely beyond me!
Their the poor pure nintendo fans.
Matt127ful
I'm a Nintendo Fan. And I had AND completed all 3 Spyro games.
this is my personal theme. RESPECT THE DRAGON!!!
i think skylanders are mostly about the monsters except spyro the character himself.
I think Skylander's is all about money, to be honest. The greedy Pigs who made it charge people £25 per character over here
0:56 THE BASS
Those darn dogs will get you more than Toasty himself!
Spyro is back baby 2018 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It must be me lol because the dogs never scared me :/ this was one of my favorite levels as a kid
Who else here knows that this is just a really AWESOME remix of the main theme?
You can hear the main theme in it but this song is its own thing, I wouldn't call it a remix but more of an homage to the main theme.
PRECISELY
3:11 DAAAAAAMN DAT BASS MAN! :D
omg i love spyro^^ especially the first one. that one was the best, with all the awesome songs XD **sigh** it brings back memories^^ thx for putting this up :D
.... *Opens mouth to say something.* ....*Closes mouth.*.. It's really just a bunch of sheep in a scarecrow costume.. I think it was like a training session for spyro with the dragons... but...eh.. The dogs were more threatening than Toasty.
oh man listening to these videos just make me cry i want to play these games again!!!
i dont get how everyone interprets this song as happy and uplifting...it sounds like something dangerous beginning but hiding in the shadows, hidden, before it STRIKES, and everything goes to hell.
Six gnorcs disliked.
Either gnorcs or skylanders. Or 6 people from activision who love skylanders and think it's good
Surprisingly it has stayed that way for 6 months...
Nevermind...
Fizzler lol 7 now
Misty Island it wasn't you, was it!? 😤
gnasty gnorc has put one of his most devious henchmen in charge of the artisans world.
"Be careful Spyro. This boss has many tricks up his sleeve."
Planet Awesomeness Has absolutely no tricks up it's sleeve whatsoever.
2:15-2:17 sounds like you can hear the Wizards or Druids of the game chanting faintly in the background. Either them or just really cool sound effects to make you feel like a true warrior.
omg i love spyro^^ especially the first one with all the awesome songs XD it brings back memories^^ thx for posting this.
This is my toast eating song
Toasty is one of my most favorite Home-world portals, ever, and the music too. :) The whole thing that I like about it... is just about those Wolves, the hot Lava if Spyro looks down... or just everything about it. It is just a very creative world, to me, and it is pretty fun, too. Especially with the BOSS BATTLE PART. Which then only turns out to be a SHEEP! LOL! ^0^
Gnasty Gnorc has put one of his most DEVIOUS henchman in charge of the Artisans World...
I can't wait for Spyro Reignited
theowlshack the wait will be over on September 21st
this also is the exact theme thats also played in the level Gnasty's World
the orchestra at the beginning is so goddamn epic
Everyone coming back here since 2018 remake is coming!
This level scared the crap out of me as a kid
