A few things I missed…
- The Galaxy S24 line will support up to 7 years of software updates
- S24+ features a QHD+ display that’s sharper than the S23+ FHD+ screen. (Too many “+”’s) 😅
- Galaxy Al features will be provided for free until the end of 2025.
E
Ai free until end of 2025. Guess what happens after that haha
@@chinesesparrowsso its not forever free. Well.. nothing is free.
"...free until the end of 2025"
So soon we won't own our phone anymore, it will be subscription to use "advanced" features.
no way.. it's a trial?
Are any of AI features available offline?
I have an old rotary phone from the 1800's , I think this will be a great upgrade!
if it's working just keep it for another century.
Quite disappointed that the exynos version wasn't mentioned. From. Previous years it can have a significant impact on performance / battery life, especially with all the ai stuff that are designed for SD chips
Wait, it's all the same as last few years?
"Always have been"
Been using my S10+ since 2019, will probably upgrade this year. Should feel like a nice bump
S10 has to be one of Samsung's greatest phones, On an S10 Coming upto 5yrs in March, Looking to upgrade soon to the S24+
OR, now that the waranty of your S10 is expired anyway, you can try to burn a custom ROM on it so you can have Android 13. Another 2 years YIHAA!!
@@JonathanFosa if only I could on snapdragon
My s10e is just about kicking the bucket too so i have to upgrade.
I probably would have held on to it if it was still going strong
I have one too. I preordered the S24 Ultra last night. S10 plus just got too slow for me
I have kept my Note 8 from its initial release up to last month, so a little over 6 years in total. I think I'll be sticking to my s23u for the same amount of time, unless something drastically different comes out in the following years. AI integration just does not interest me.
Damn why not wait 1 more month and get the S23 Ultra at a discount (cause the S24 Ultra just came out?)
@@mihnealazar7039 I didn't know the S24 was releasing and I needed a new phone immediately for work, unfortunately
Still missing the headphone jack for shooting video with a wired external mic while charging the phone.
I've got bad news, bud. Manufacturers aren't bringing back the 3.5mm ports.
Dangling dongles doth disrupt
true. Where is the headphone jack?
I'm not one that upgrades every year so I dont mind the price. I'm on a S20 that works great still and got in new 4 years ago when it came out. I hate the fact they got ride of the micro USB card spot, thats why im hagging onto this S20 as long as possible. But 2024 might be the year to upgrade again.
I have an S21 Ultra from 2020 I'm still using. I'll probably upgrade to the S23 Ultra this year. These small upgrades to the S24 line don't seem worth it to me, tbh. I'm just gonna wait until the S23 Ultra goes on sale and then upgrade then.
No sht anyone trading their s23 ultra is a straight idiot. They are literally rolling out those ai features at the end of the year and then they will actually charge anyone for those features after 2024. Bet nobody knew that because they didn't want to mention it 😂
Just upgrade to s24 ultra. It's a great upgrade from s21 and you'll have advantage if you pre order the s24 now. Don't miss that pre order opportunity because it's way better than the Year old phone
I mean you can maximize the unpack perks and will have a 7 years of update support. You'll have a free storage upgrade and maybe a 50 dollars credit.
@@danjacinthyabo8554 wasn't talking about u guy read what I said
If they do a preorder where they add accessories for free, maybe. If not, no thanks
Just a small correction the s24 and s24+ will have Snapdragon gen3 processor in America, Korea, Canada, China and possibly Japan.
While the rest of the world will get Exynos 2400 processor.
Edited: Updated Country list
fck samsung
Canada and China will also get the Snapdragon variant.
What's the performance of the Exynos version?
I'm interested if there is any improvement in the sound of the speakers?
Is the screen on the ultra finally flat? Might upgrade from my note 9 if it is.
I couldn't care less about ai. Give me a damn big battery that charges fast, and a screen that doesn't break when dropped.
A screen that doesn't break when dropped? hahahahahaha. Sorry to break it to you Einstein but no amount of screen technology is stopping that screen from breaking if you drop it hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
for u better get iphone 13
@@health4430ew
Had an S21 for a while now and just ordered the S24+ (Free upgrade promo through my carrier). Very excited to get my hands on the new features.
Just upgraded to an S23 from S10e last week, decided not to wait for S24 looking at all the leaks
Same with me. I'm on an S10E, which I love, but I'll upgrade to an S23
U miss the 7 years os upgrade
@@baoanprounited yeah, but I don't think my S10E has been updated for 1 - 2 years and it's fine. I tend to keep phones for 4 - 5 years.
@@BestStockStrategydude you can take advantage the pre order perks specially the free storage upgrade
I upgraded to the S23+ 3 weeks ago from a S20+ that had green line issues. I'm very happy with the upgrade.
I'm okay with AI integration to a point, but it feels like they are going too fast. Maybe it's just me 🤷🏼♂️
I am planing to upgrade from my A52s to the S24+ for sure.
I hope that exynos2400 (s24,s24+ Eu versions)has same perfomance than SD3 variant.
And AI features are only a thing that you try one time and after that you forget them or disable the if possible.
performance usually isn't the issue, efficiency, drivers and optimization of the OS is
i think i will just look for a cheap S23; SD8Gen2 is more than i ever need anyway
pictures will very likely look distinctively worse than with a SD. Also you'll be able to cook water with your exynos as alsways
Will this be available in the dual-sim version?
That circle search is a game changer!
1:27 Not for small hands but kinda got sick of this big phone idea. I tried S23 in a Samsung store and it feels so good in my hand, compared to Note 20 that I'm using. At the end of the day, I don't see the advantages of note series (s pen, cameras etc) despite being a designer. I could swear that I haven't used my pen for last couple months. Only thing that makes me highly interested in is that airdrop but android feature and the battery. I hope the equinox chip isn't that bad, I would like to have a legit full day battery experience (no power banks and cords in a back pack)
Both apple and Samsung try small phone
But despite having loads of ppl on the internet saying they want it, small form factor for their flagship lineup has the worst sales out of the lineup
that's y they axe it and no longer care
@@789know He said he likes the size of the S23, which would mean he also likes the size of the iPhone Pro, both of which sell extremely well. I don't believe he was referring to an even smaller form factor like what the iPhone Mini was (which is what you were referring to when you mentioned why they stopped offering them).
In that regard, it's not a sales issue, both Samsung and Google have failed to offer their true flagships in a smaller form. If you want the best specs/features, you're forced to get the Galaxy Ultra or Pixel Pro, both of which only come in a single size, unlike Apple which offers their flagship in two size variants (Pro and Pro Max).
It would be nice if the mainstream Android manufacturers started doing something similar. I firmly believe an S24 Ultra the size of the regular S24 or a Pixel 8 Pro the size of the regular Pixel 8 would not have struggled to move units. If Apple can offer two size variants for both their regular and pro lineups, then Samsung and Google can too. They need to stop nerfing memory, screen resolution, cameras, etc on the smaller units to get a true scale of demand, otherwise, of course, people will always skew towards the larger devices regardless if they want the smaller form or not.
So, this brand new hardware is better because it has a stock software upgrade. I think they will find 90% of users still do not use AI.
yep, it gets boring pretty fast
So what can do 200 mp camera? What features does it have?
My only question about this AI stuff is: Is it on-device only or does it talk over the Internet?
Everything except for Generative AI for photo editing is on device.
Waiting to upgrade when they finally are required to offer a changeable battery.
Will be the best "innovation" since 5+ years
that's not before 2027.
I've been using the Note 10 for the past 3.5 years and with the battery not lasting as long anymore and end of support and security updates, I decided to update to the s24 base. With the current preorder trade-in promo + $100 voucher, it was hard to turn down. I don't care much for the AI features, but the compact design, display, and longer support has me quite excited
the base models look stunning. Finally a solid competition for apple.
0:48 yeah they lost me when you could start connecting your fridges and dishwashers to your network. Maybe it's because I have a background in Computer Science, but I'd prefer not to have someone tap into my network through my kitchen appliances. 💀
You forgot to mention that S24+ has 1440p display, a massive upgrade imo
Oops. My apologies! I have pinned a comment regarding that. Thank you for pointing that out :)
will dex be in 1440p?
Downgrade, and then upgrade LOL
Do you know that Galaxy s4 had a 1440p screen?!
@@BleepBlop-rh9lm my Note 8 has a 1440 display, and my Note 10 plus also has a 1440 PD display. The fact that they had to downgrade the screens, to make it seem like the Next Generation after was an upgrade is atrocious.
Yes but now @ 120 Hz
S25 is the quarter of the century🎉🎉 phone and will have all the features everyone is asking for and it will have the ones others want to keep from older versions 😊... Good information though.
Is the regular model able to do the language translation and the circle to identify features?
Yes
@@spectre13271 thanks
S24 or pixel 8 if for example they are same price, which one would you go?
Wow. I love S 24 already.
Wow, looks like an Essential Phone. Titanium too.
Getting to the S24 plus. Upgrading from an S20, so it's about time.
Coming from a note 20 ultra. Nice upgrade.
s24 and s24+ might have an exynos chip outside of US. Bleh
So the moral of the story, wait until the S23's go on sale. And they seriously think they can (eventually) charge for AI, LOL.
I don't want to get rid of my s22 ultra...but something is wrong with it and it's a month out of the warranty I bought (of course).
I almost just want another s22 ultra because of that gorgeous 10x optical zoom lens....but 7 years of support sounds really good.
Edit....for that price...I think I'll just find another S22 ultra, plus I'm not particularly interested in AI or losing 50% of my optical zoom. It's soooo awesome to have that reach (optically) when attached to my gimbal.
So this year, they just write "s24" on the box
Yup
To be honest the ultra and S line hasn't changed much the last 3 or 4 years.
I love mine! I was using a Pixel 8 Pro.
I’m rocking a s10+, so for me it’s time to upgrade. Actually, I already pre-ordered the s24
S10 here. My wishlist was i wanted qi2, more than 8gb memory and an improved camera on the base tier. I'm 0 for 3
Edit: they disabled wifi 7 on the snapdragon base and plus.
-1 of 3
yeah not feeling this, i would lose my headphone jack, sd slot, 1440p display, still exynos and still only 8gb ram for 30% more than what my S10 cost at release
hard pass
edit: oh and the charging speed is still an absolute joke
No, not gonna upgrade my S22 Ultra. I'm hoping Google will increase the telephoto zoom in their next phone, improve the AI fetures, and add more AI features. That's probably Pixel 9? Then I'll wait for Pixel 10 to launch before I go buy a new Pixel 9.....lol.
Hello, please tell me which laptop to choose between:
HP omen 16 2023 (intel core i5-13420h, rtx 4050 140w, 16 GB ddr5)
Asus tuf gaming a15 2023 (ryzen 7-7735hs, rtx 4050 140w, 16GB ddr5)
Lenovo legion slim 5 16' 2023 (ryzen 5-7640hs, rtx 4050 100w, 16GB ddr5)
Lenovo loq 15' 2023 (intel core i5-13500h, rtx 4050 95w, 16 GB ddr5)
Sitting here with my S21 Ultra and not feeling the need to upgrade. The AI features while nice, just don't feel super practical for my use cases yet, and the hardware has barely changed. Maybe the Fold 6 will be cool this year? Wake me up when there's some real innovation.
Plus is the sweet spot this year IMO
is it true that the ai will be a paid subscription after period of usage or is it a rumor ?
Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy AI will be free for 2 years, which implies it will be a subscription thereafter.
@@DanWalshTV i guess not a lot people are going to subscribe to that
Holy hand gestures
Does S24 regular have the same software Galaxy AI?
Yep! Galaxy AI is designed across for the entire S24 line. Although Samsung did mention that they would roll these features as a software update to the older models 😅
where is the 24e though?
Really surprised that Samsung gave $400 for trade on my Note 9 that has been beat up over the last 5 yrs... think they were recently selling for 95-110 on swappa
I have an s10, just ordered s24+
I have an S10+, just realized I can keep using it for a few more years.
@@Hawk7886 Tbf I actually love my s10 but the battery has really been bad. I know I could get it replaced, but I wavered and got sucked into the marketing whirlwind
S20+ worth upgrading to s24??
thanx. was thinking about a Samsung galaxy 24 +. But like before Samsung doesn´t include the Qualcomm chipset in the European version.(B Version for us in Europe) so i am out. disappointed with Samsung. But there are other alternatives to look into.
But must add. not the first time they offer the B version only to consumers in Europe.
is the marble grey white? it looks white to me
Great us here in EU gets the Exynos 2400 with these 2. Only the S24 Ultra has the Snapdragon. Every S23 model last year had Snapdragons. I gues Samsung just wants to dump the crap on us again. Was going to maybe buy the S24 but with Exynos naah forget it.
Thanks for being transparent
Did he really say "flat edges are easier to hold"? WTF, curve edges contour to hands and easier to hold though
The S24 is to the S23 what the S9 was to the S8.
A further refinement of a certain design.
The main reason why i will go for the S24U instead of the S23U is because of the extended software support. I fully intend to use that device even longer than ive been using my S9.
That and i really like the flat screen.
Nope. My S21 Ultra seems to be operating exactly the same as the day I bought it. I wireless charge it to 85% every night and the battery seems to be in great shape. I invested in the S21 Ultra precisely because I knew I was going to be using it for 7+ years. My only gripe with Samsung phones is that they insist on putting their own versions of Android/Google applications alongside the Google variants. I just pull most of them into a folder and forget about them. Don't get me wrong, I like the Samsung product but at the end of the day it's just a phone. I want it to last as long as possible and not get in my way. And the less said about 'AI' the better.
Nobody asked buddy
So basically, the S24 is a newer S23 right?
I love how Apple fanboy highlights Apple feature that perhaps android mobiles such as Samsung has supposedly copied, yet, they don't talk about how Iphone are so delayed in many other features for years that Iphone starting to copy android phones features too. C type charging port, wireless charging, Oled Screen, customizations, etc...
$1800 plus tax for Canadians is insane!!! to pay for a phone. I wont be surprised if this has lower sales than last years s23 🤯
S24 already. How often does Samsung push out a model?!?
dropped early?
No expandable storage? Staying on the old phones then.
not compelling enough to upgrade from my s21. i think i'll keep it until i see what the s25 is.
Forgot to mention they will charge for AI after a year. Read the fine print.
Isnt all thid editing ai stuff basicale sofware?
Are they planning to deliberatly close they're ai features on s24 just to sell it?
Otherweise thers no point in upgrading, since its the same phone...
they don't have 128gb model here
I previously had my eye on a Google Pixel for my next phone because I felt they were the only true mainstream innovators in smartphone tech today. However, Qualcomm and Samsung have something to say about that. I might consider staying with Samsung. I also feel that the S24 is the best looking smartphone on the market (I'm a sucker for purple). Pixel will have to deliver this year to compete against new Android phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor.
Price upgrade with some hardware downgrade, I don't even know how you can present that with a straight face.
Forgot to mention that Samsung will charge for the AI features come 2025.
$1799 is still a hell of alot cheaper then the S20 Ultra when thst came out that was $2500 each for me and wife. They have been getting cheaper each generation which is nice i just wish theyd stop removing/adding back in the SD Card either kill it off or state we will never add it going forward like the headphone jack.
WTF Exynos! Why Exynos!
I'm planning to get small phones this year.
My S22 Ultra is just too big.
I'll guess I have wait for Zen Phone.
I'm more interested in the A55 for this year
Hopefully they'll put a telephoto lens rather than macro
As for your query about our thoughts regarding AI; The potentials of AI are amazing, but it's fair to claim that most software and hardware is not designed with my interests first. Industries who have already broken our trust in matters like control of apps, protocols and features should not suddenly be considered trustworthy in a new generation of development.
But can you turn off the A.I. features, is my question.
Fun fact, as I was setting my review sample, all the AI assisted features were disabled out of the box 😂
@@HardwareCanucks good, I'm pretty sure nobody who doesn't like or support AI would want it lowkey snitching on them because of their questionable history on the web.
My S22 Ultra is still running like a champ and I see no reason to replace it
I actively want a device without ai. I want none of these ai features and at the very least need to be able to block them. Reality is, anything you do with these us based of theft and is owned by the company whos model you using. Why bother thinking if Samsung can do it for you
This is samsung design
Google AI may make me finally stop being a Apple customer.
Apple has had Siri for a decade+ now and it just feels so dumb to use these days.
good time to keep the old phone.
4K 120 is the only worth it features 😅
Otherwise smart people are still waiting for iPhone 16 pro max and S25 ultra .. ..😂
God bless incremental upgrade
It's 1440 not 4k
Next step would be using plutonium for the midframe.
Ill be keeping my s22 ultra 🤷♂️
Trading in my note 9 for the s24 ultra
Srsly they shlould make s24 mini for us small hand people
the sound treatment of this video makes me uncomfortable :(
AUD getting murdered on the S24 Ultra at $2399 /512gb.
Are you the friend she told me to not worry about?
Who tf needs AI in a phone? Just stop this bs Samsung and make a good flagship like the old days instead of Galaxy Iphones they have been making since S10
Grammarly is going to go bankrupt with these lol?
Fine with my 23 +
DONT TRADE IN YOUR S23 ULTRA BC THOSE AI FEATURES WILL ROLL OUT AT THE END OF THE YEAR. YOU WILL ALSO BE CHARGED FOR THOSE FEATURES AFTER 2024😂
Not for me. Nice review though
If OnePlus doesn't screw-up SD8G3 2024 lineup then i can say screw you Samsung..
But... AI will be a service you must pay for to keep using after 2025... this isn't a minor fact and should be covered.
