- I finally tried an iPhone. Does Apple beat android for me personally? Get a Teardown skin for your own phone HERE: www.dbrand.com/teardown I've been an Android user for 13 years. But the new Titanium Apple iPhone tempted me enough to try it out. For over 100 days I gave the iPhone a solid shot at becoming my new daily driver. But... well... I don't thing the iPhone is built for me. There are a few features on Android that I just cannot live without.

Mad respect for the boss that thought carefully about their employee's working hours. It's really stressful when your boss is taking your time when it shouldn't
I simply ignore everything work related outside of work times, set off notifications and if anyone says why no reply, depending on who "I wasn't working at that time/I didn't see"
I never thought I was going to be THAT convinced about an iphone diss
Ikr, I've always loved Zach and what he's stood for throughout the years, but I gained so much respect for him on that sentiment
Yeah might be because they are using iphone and dont have that feature
Loved that part. Great respect for employees is a must. Already a subscriber and liking even more the person.
Him using a Note 10+, a phone that was released nearly 5 years ago says a lot about his priorities as a person. Hat’s off to you sir…

I'm on one rn and it's been great for the most part
phones these days are very useful in long term and usually the flasgships last a lot longer and stay a lot faster before becoming annoying. I was using my one plus 6 for 6 years before switching to s23 and an iphone se (got it for 80$) for a secondary phone... I intend to use s23 for atleast 4-5 years till I save enough to splurge on a good phone.
I was gonna reply "what do you mean nearly 5 years ago" because I swear it was like 2-3 years ago. time flies
One tip for users of both worlds: You can hold down your spacebar and swipe right or left to move the cursor

Best line of the entire video:
“Don’t let your boss text you after hours”
Shows that Zach is a solid guy to work for.
My boss text me inappropriately after hours.
Yes, in an ideal world, where during working hours an employee devotes himself exclusively to work without distractions or breaks.
@@nikita137274 Regardless of the fact that no employee not under the burden of forced labour will do that, an employee occasionally taking time out of the day to take a break (which will usually increase productivity, not hinder it) is not grounds for a manager or owner to harass them outside of their working hours.
Corporations everywhere like 👁👄👁
Having an understanding of the severity of your buildout/project or other situation is the key to using direct texting or scheduling something for a later time. If materials can be ordered and ready for an early morning pick up vs calling in the morning and waiting 3-4 hours is a leadership decision and ALL members of the project need to agree to be available under the right circumstances.
Not having clipboard history turned out to be my biggest deal breaker. Being able to open your clipboard and seeing all the 10 - 15 items you last saved is so convenient.
Wow! Can't believe you don't get this on iPhones. That's crazy.
Very underrated feature that I use on daily basis
@@higozie that seems like such a basic option... iphone always not having things u dont think about cause it seems so natural to have
I am an iphone user, but I don’t think i can work efficiently without using clipboard in windows as I have to work with lots of data, i really miss this feature on iphone
I regret buying iPhone 15 pro😢
I was a hardcore android user and thought to try the iOS system. Definitely not for me. The clipboard, texting back via the widget on home screen and all what Zack mentioned in the video.
I switched to an iPhone from a Samsung about 3 years ago. It has been a mostly positive experience, but some of these issues resonated with me. The biggest one is the lack of information in the alarm. I desperately miss the alarm telling me how long it will be until it goes off. Great video.
Use the sleep schedule in health, it was strange for me to do that first, but it is mindblowing, how convenient it works, especially, if you add it as a widget to your homescreen. One click adjustments per day are possible and you become so much more mindful with your actual sleep. At least it was the case for me. Hope this helps 😊
I'm returning to android because of other things i didn't like/get used to, but if you want a trick you can ask Siri how many time until an specific horu. For an example you can ask her "hey Siri, how much long until 7:30am". Still extra steps, not good, but it's something

@@DarveshSD but as what he said earlier in the video it takes that extra step to use iphone. I use iphone as my daily driver if it wasn't jailbroken i would prolly go back to android.
It’s just a matter of what he is used to using. And blue vs green- now you know who you can FaceTime and who can see some animations!

Moving music or movie files to an android phone is as simple as drag and drop. And it works immediately. Different story with itunes etc
Transfering all of your pretty photos and video with a huge numbers, like "10-15k" to PC - a serious headache... Never will suggest an iPhone to any person
Yep. For the majority of people it's a real problem. But there's a small segment of users like me who will go the extra mile to do exactly what we want. For example, I use Neutron Player for music. So I just drag and drop music directly to that folder in itunes.
I have both Android and iOS. Android I like for its extensive features. iOS I like for its simplicity in certain cases. This comes from a guy who has used iOS and Android since 2009.

‘Don’t let your boss text you after hours’ such good advice for the both…
reminds me of the fact that we just passed a law in australia making it illegal to punish someone for ignoring after hours calls
@@hvrbros8730 In the U.S., a large majority of work related calls or texts I get are after 9pm. Sure, you technically won't be punished for ignoring them, but they'll also happily move on to someone more responsive.
@@hvrbros8730 meanwhile in the U.S. it’s basically an unwritten law that you’ll be punished for ignoring work calls/texts after hours.
Lol, "grow up" he says. Let me tell you something, kiddo: If you have a really stressful and mentally demanding job, it is imperative to set boundaries for both yourself and your colleagues. If you start responding to work related texts after hours, it's a slippery slope, nay, a highway to burnout. It's not about reading one text message after work, as you so deceptively put. It's about sustainability. But you will figure this out eventually (not that I think you actually had a job)
@@Kuhlio1313 Alright old man, I can tell your skin dusts off you like sand every morning. Absolutely no boss on Earth gets to set employee boundaries like that, let alone during personal time. Thank you!! I've been waiting for a well regarded tech review of the two. I have been with iPhone for YEARS. I love the customizability of android, but not the frequent glitches when I've tested. It's been a few years since I tested, though. Might be time to try again.
As another employer, thanks for explaining appropriate boss etiquette. It's really important for us to respect our employees' ability to be off the clock when they're not getting paid. It's not cool to text people when they are off the clock. It's essentially stealing their time. It is sad how profoundly moving it was for me to hear you mentioned this very basic courtesy. It sounds like your team is well treated. Strong work
Let me guess you're one of those people who days, "I don't get paid enough to do that" you can't answer a text message when you're off the clock😂😂
@one-to-one-ratio no one gets paid enough to answer text/email when they are off the clock. That's what off the clock means. Unless it means a change of schedule, I am not responding.
Yeah same. But us salary people are technically always on the clock but yeah. Unless its something important or ground breaking then i better not get a text from my gm telling me something stupid and minute that i need to attend to. I had my last boss message me at 11pm (i got off at 5pm) that i need to call my crew mates roght now and let thwm know about the new material we are going to use. Its like come on man. Hold a meeting tomorrow morning and let everyone know. Im not gonna call 40 people and bug them on their off time to tell them "hey we are gonna be using new material and we will have a meeting tomorrow at work about it) @paulwyand6204
@@one-to-one-ratioit’s important to allow people to be off the clock it’s not “I don’t get paid enough to respond” it’s more “I’m not getting paid at all to respond” furthermore would you text your boss after hours? No. Because everyone does actually have a family we work to make money so we can support those that we love some do also make money to have nice things for themselves whether you use your money to buy yourself a new car or to take your kids to lunch you deserve to enjoy the nice things in life without worrying about who’s gonna fill in for someone tomorrow or something you need to talk to your boss because the thing you’re building is about to fall over and kill a load of people then that’s okay any reason that’s not life death or bankruptcy is not an okay reason to talk to your employees or boss after hours
@@one-to-one-ratio You missed the point. It's not about not being paid enough to answer a message during personal time. It's about not actually working during that time, which is the basis of every modern work contract anywhere on the planet. Unless you're still brainwashed into being slave on a plantation, MY life comes first, and only then others', period.
Here's a few tips for people having the same complaints:
3:00 You can flick it down so it opens fully without draggin it the whole length of the iphone. It still opens the whole thing but atleast its faster.
4:45 You can hold the wifi icon to expand it and press "open wifi settings" or "open bluetooth settings". Still takes a lot of clicks but atleast you dont have to search for the app.
6:16 You can press the spacebar and the keyboard will turn itu a trackpad, its actually much more convenient and accurate imo because i have fat fingers
8:48 You can hold the notification to show the full message or email or whatever it is without reading it. This works with other messaging apps and its pretty useful. You can even open chats without reading them by long pressing. You can quickly open websites, enlarge images, read something quickly, etc. Holding something on the iphone does a lot.
Overall, this is a great video explaining the good stuff that apple got right, their stupid quirks, and amazing android features that us iphone users probably have to wait a decade to get implemented lmao. The scheduled messages is probably a feature that made me want to switch the most because i keep forgetting to reply to someone.
It looks like Jerry uses his phone like he's in 2008, so modern UX confuses him 🙃
There’s also a button for marking emails as unread even though Jerry pointed out there isn’t
Glad someone explained it to him cause I was kinda annoyed with how all his issues were just him being unaware. Although I agree ios needs a better calculator and a fixed back button.
Thanks I didn't know about the space bar
Yep the spacebar tip also works on Android, it's kind of a hidden feature so I'm not surprised people don't know about it
The iPhone can send a reservation message using shortcuts, You can know the battery charging time.
If you set an alarm in the calendar, you can add a calendar widget to know the next alarm time, etc.
When modifying text, you can use a keyboard app that allows you to select words and move the cursor, or use dictation with voice with word selection and delete.
To run the Settings app quickly, you can use the action button or the back tab.
Still adds to his point of it taking more steps to do this stuff compared to on android
I love that you're one of those people who still uses the Samsung icons💯
I never hide them too coz they're awesome

Such practical approach is so much more helpful for people like me who wanna switch or explore what we are missing out, saving us all the trouble of trying it personally.
Those reviewers don't even know what they don't like
I mean these are all mostly opinions still. Like for example, some hate the fact you can't place your app icons anywhere you want on the home screen on IOS. Me personally I love that I can't. I want some preset organization. And it's not a knock on android, I was primarily an android user my entire life, but made the switch to iPhone at the iPhone 12 and haven't regretted it.
@@erice3525 his wasn't mostly opinion it's actually true for most of users who have used both, iphone is just not that user friendly, i know i own both.
True, other than him only LTT will talk about it, reason being other youtubers like MKBHD etc can't badmouth Apple or they won't get phones anymore at launch. Not getting the phone at launch means they won't get the views and hence a lower payday for them.
@@erice3525 yeah, his main reason for going back to Samsung was that his phone is a tool and he just wants to get stuff done with it. Ironically that is the same reason I got my first iPhone in 2020 and never went back. I loved Android when I was younger and had time to fiddle with everything, even using custom ROMs. But now that I am busy with life, I have found the stability and "it just works" nature of Apple to be way more efficient. He was right about the ecosystem statement. A few months after I got an iPhone, I got my first MacBook, then my first Apple Watch. Every piece I added, further organized and made things efficient for me. Now I have the complete ecosystem, and for better or worse, I am locked in. I have thought about checking out new Android phones, but then I remember how much there is to lose going that route and how much time I wasted fumbling around between Android and Windows trying to get stuff done.
Before I made the switch, I had tried going all in on Google's ecosystem to make things simpler, but ChromeOS just wasn't able to handle my needs and at the time there were lots of other holes in their ecosystem where they really didn't have a reliable hardware or software solutions. So then I went all in on Samsung, but found that Samsung Android devices and Samsung Windows devices hardly play together at all, and it's more a test of your patients than anything, as well as the fact that Samsung's Android is super bloated, and every time I tried doing something new on the phone, I found myself singing my life away on user agreements to not only Google, but also Samsung, as well as having a bunch of duplicate apps preinstalled (one from Samsung and one from Google), even duplicate app markets.
So basically I was a life long Windows user, starting from Windows 95 and used Android since 2009, and I had to be dragged kicking and screaming into Apple world. When I got up and walked around for a while though, I actually think the grass is greener on the other side.
But thats not true for everyone, so it really is a personal opinion on just about everything.

Thank you for calling out UI issues. It’s not only Apple. Microsoft is also notorious at increasing the number of steps to perform the same task, removing function or burying actions. It’s like the designers lost their common sense.

@@inugaki6942 Back in Win 98 or even as late as XP, you could find so many settings conveniently *together* in the same settings area. Display settings used to have resolution and refresh rate together, and themes was a tab over. Now they're spread over multiple settings 'apps' in different subcategories.
It's infuriating.
Microsofts issue isnt that designers lost their common sense, its that designers who made the OS great retired. All your left with are people who want to do things differently or adopt the apple style over substance design.
Totally. I have been watching some reviews on the various editions of windows (Which I use a lot) and more and more functions are just being buried or plain removed! As someone with an IT background it really gets to me that when I go to do something relatively simple like networking settings I now have to jump through many hoops to find what I want.
this is why i refuse to install Windows 11, it's horrible UI wise.

Been an android user ever since android exists. And one of the biggest show stopper for me is the lack of system wide gestures. My Pixel doesn't have a physical back button but, ever since they've integrated back gesture on android, this has been a game changer for me. My wife has an iPhone and yes, you can go back by swiping from most of Apple's apps but not all of them. Being in 2024 and still having to reach at the top left hand corner to hit a button seems ridiculous.

Oh yeah, lol. Remember when I discovered it. And now the best phone ever is out, and I'm getting the 24 ultra. Most people have an iPhone due to hype. Most. However, very few people bother actually investing in the ecosystem, which in truth is amazing, but not a selling point for me because, like Jerry, I don't want to invest in that much.
To be honest it's very scummy of apple to gate you from features you paid for unless you pay more. Never was an iPhone user. Last one I used was an iPhone 6 plus which was amazing. Since then I have loved andriod
Just started the video. Just a side note, the note 10 plus very much CAN change the brightness of the flashlight. Even the original S8 can do that. I am not sure why you weren't able to. Perhaps you didn't know where to look to do it, but you can hold your finger on the flashlight icon to do it. I have had a Note 9, and S22 ultra, and both can do it, and my family has had note 9's, 10's, a note 20, S22 ultra's, S23 FE, and more, and they can *all* do the flashlight dimming trick haha
Even the tablets can do it. I have a Tab S8 which has this feature.

I'd wish Samsung made it easier to know this because it took me forever to figure this out.
This. This right here is why I read the comments. Learned a couple new things today.
Never knew scheduling messages was a thing. Been using Oneplus for over 4 years and it turns out this feature doesn't work on my handset. Very informative video. Glad I came across your content :)
I use Microsoft SMS organiser in my OnePlus and this feature is there. Never used the default messaging app.
Great breakdown just came across this video the breakdown is so precise and information and insight is fantastic I usually run Android and you just put me on to schedule texting and the acceptable guidelines about texting people when they're getting paid very great perspective
Something else to note, on both iPhone and Android, you can long press on the button for bluetooth, network, etc. to get to the settings for that button. You can do that instead of navigating to a settings app on both phones.
Except on iphone that only works if you have bluetooth turned on. If not you first need to turn it on. then long press it to enlarge it, and then another tap to open the settings.
It is possible, but again it takes extra taps.
For me this works reliably on Android but with iPhone I usually just end up accidentally turning it off entirely... I don't know how they messed up such trivial functionality, but they did.
In every case I've found the long press to be incredibly inconsistent at times on the iphone. Either it doesn't open the menu, or it just turns it off/on at random. Sometimes it opens it... but it's honestly easier to just go to the settings menu.
You can also just ask Siri to open WiFi or Bluetooth settings and she’ll do it instantly.
@@setha298try that in a language different to English ;) Siri is almost useless outside of the US, so it's often disabled completely.

I use both and have some notes: on iPhone, hold space on any text and you have a touchpad mouse for your cursor. You can also flip a Gmail email to unread by touching the envelope icon. The current iOS still doesn't show the date by pulling 2 lines of the notification center but you can bring the whole center down in a single short drag. And there's flashlight dimming in a few android models.
7th issue is not even an issue cause you can use ur spacebar to do it the easy way and it works flawlessly
I switched to the iPhone as well first time in my life. The main miss I had was that one sound bar for the entire system. No way to have loud calls and quiet notifications. Crazy
You can actually do that using focus modes. Create a custom focus mode where all notifications are silenced but phone calls from anyone are all allowed. You can set it up to be activated automatically at certain times, locations or using smart activation or set it manually using control center shortcuts as you need it.
Again, more steps to get simple things done😔

Yeah sound managing on iPhone is pretty annoying. Especially if your sound switch is damaged. Then ur toasted lol
The alarm app is such a powerhouse of convenience on Android that it feels like it can read your mind. The brief notification when you set a time is just touching the surface
I agree. What happened to Zach happened to me as well, but this time with Siri. I asked to schedule an alarm at 8:30 in the morning and it scheduled it to 8:30 PM and I slept in. Until very recently you couldn't even schedule multiple timers on the clock app. And don't even get me started on the calculator, which is so far behind some of the most features you expect from a calculator its mind boggling.
has saved me a lot of time TBH.
I never knew! thank you.
It even gives you a heads up when a bank holiday is coming, proposing to suspend the alarm on that day. And you can suspend a recurring alarm for a custom duration as well and have it auto resume once it's over, very handy during holidays
@@yeshwanthreddy9007have you tried tilting the iPhone horizontally when using the calculator app?
Worth noting that for your texting issue, holding spacebar on the iPhone turns it into a track bar. Much more precise and easy.
What are pleasant, soothing voice you have, sir. As an iPhone user for the past 10 years and partly Android user, one thing I’d like to add is that you can get into Settings faster by just using 3D Touch things and press&hold on Wi-Fi button slightly more when you dragged the curtain down. Then once again one more click like that and you will have option to jump into the settings, but yes you’re right it takes more clicks than with Android.

Jerry is the person I never though would use an Android
As an iPhone user for 13 years, I switched to the iPhone 15 Pro just like you. I agree 100% with the video.
In addition, notifications are grouped differently on iPhone, and they are persistent: for example, if you receive a message on Instagram, and you read that message from the Instagram app, the notification will remain there forever even if you have already read the message from within the app.
Apple user here. Glad you gave the iphone a shot. One thing regarding dealbreaker no.2. if you long press on the notification, it brings up the entire email while still keeping it "unread".
And "no way to mark unread" is an issue with the Gmail app on iOS, not related to anything Apple does.
@JakeShirley You can swipe to the right on a gmail message to make it unread. That is in the settings menu.
@@trajanfpvmore steps 😬
@@JakeShirley but dont forget, apple want things their way, including apps on their phone. if its not up to their standard & done their way, apple will block that app from being on ios. if you look at certain apps that are on ios & android, that differences between them, because of apple.
@@2078smith Apple definitely as technical cert requirements but this ain't one. Pretending this specifically (gmail usability) is an Apple issue waters down the real issues Apple has like locking down side loading.
As a long time iPhone user, it's refreshing to see someone call out all the stupid things I've just learned to deal with over the years.
That's one big problem I've had with iPhone users is that they are so used to putting up with the BS that they don't even realize that it's BS most of the time. When I asked my co-worker why I couldn't just select the middle of a word I had typed on the screen, their response was " Why would you even want to do that??" Then they told me to just select the space in between The word I wanted to change and the word in front of it, completely backspace away the word I want to change one letter of and retype it.
The craziest part has been asking people who have used iPhones their entire lives how to do simple things like this, save themselves don't even know that apple has made a way to do it, but has just made it very inaccessible and counterintuitive. I guess that when people first get their iPhones, just as I did, they try to do things and are told over and over that that's just not even an option on an iPhone and to just suck it up and do it how Apple wants them too, So when they run into problems that do actually have an Apple work around, they assume they don't and just make do the best that they possibly can. Shout out to my boyfriend who's never had anything but iPhone and told me there was no way to go back except for a few apps. He told me He's just been closing out of anything without a back button at the top and reopening the app to get back to the apps home screen.
I think people think iPhones are simpler and more efficient because when you run into a issue, they're just is no solution, whereas with Android when you run into a problem, there are usually 18 different solutions with their own different pros and cons and customizations. I can understand how a lot of people, especially older people, might get overwhelmed with having the options to customize their phones to best suit them instead of the other way around, but that's why there are default settings to begin with.

Craziest Part is actually, that none IPhone users don’t use iPhones and therefore don’t get how it works. Almost every problem, except scheduled massages and the green blue thing, isn’t really a problem, he just uses it wrong. For example, the example everyone seems to be obsessed with the most, selecting in the middle of a word actually works pretty easy. Pressing space long, and then using it like a curser. That’s even faster than hitting the word with the finger while typing. Problem is just, nobody learns these things, because after a few weeks the thought “oh my android” was better gets so strong, that they switch back.
I CANNOT look at the remaining time I have to sleep after setting my alarm on my phone. If I do, my internal clock counts down, I toss and turn, ect. I have to literally look away right when I set the alarm 😂

You just made everyone better at whatever device they are using. There probably isn’t a single person that watched this that didn’t immediately start investigating the capabilities of their current device. I’ve been using iPhones for 10 years, and just learned in the comments that if I hold spacebar, I can much more accurately/easily place my cursor.
The longpress space to move the cursor works on android too btw.
It is an iPhone and Android thing.
I really like using it.
I was an iPhone user for 5 - I started noticing these things immediately when I switch to Android.
Bro that's not already on every keyboard?
I hate the iPhone keyboard
I had a flip 4. It lasted me about 4 months, one day at work a tiny piece of resin flash got under the screen hinge and it was ruined forever when I opened the screen. I'll never buy another folding phone. I've bought a s24 ultra now as a replacement and I love it.
My daughter has an iPhone 12 and Im lost every time I pick it up.
Being an iPhone user ever since the galaxy s10 I'm fairly certain that most of the reasons other than the scheduled text messaging do actually have simple ways to work but even I still notice new things about the iPhone to this day so I can't really blame you for not noticing after only a couple months. Either way we use what's best for us and can't fault anyone for that!
I’m surprised that for so many years none of the reviewers mention about the fact that iPhone don't have a Pause function while taking a Video. And if you want to turn the flash on when taking a photo you have to press about 3-4 different places.
Why would you want to pause a video?
Also the second thing isn’t even true. There’s a flash button prominently featured in the top left and you just tap it once to toggle flash.
@@g33xzi11a There are many occasions when I watch something and instead of stopping the video I would prefer to press a pause, wait until it’s worth videoing and continue the recording. Instead of having 10 short videos, I would have one continuous with all interesting bits in one. Instead I have to use an app to stitch all together.
Also for the flash, please try to press the button you suggest and you’ll see that when you take a photo it will still not flash every time, instead you have to press the arrow from the top middle to choose the detailed option where you have to choose flash on, and only then the flash will be switching on every time.
iPhone user here. Agree with you. I do miss the pause button of android. I record lots of video and it’s very useful when you do want to have just one video file to edit
No pause button record. This is a deal breaker
@@Dex_NeutralMinded I don’t care. Not a deal breaker, just another function which even the cameras from 80s had.
I’m an iPhone user, seeing the differences with your iffy and dealbreaker list, you’re absolutely right. You CAN get that stuff fixed with shortcuts, but that’s extra steps that you shouldn’t have to deal with.
Good on you for giving it an honest shot!
yea at first I was going to get mad but the more I listen, he is making good points. editing text, just hold the space bar. Or Like the mention of the alarm, you'd notice if you specifically use the sleep alarm. A lot of things that only make sense by using it more or reading manuals.
To me, every iPhone looks more or less the same. Nothing much can be customised to your preference. No funky looking widgets, just stack upon stacks of applications.
as both android and ios user, i can see how he is absolutely right about his iffy list, but to be fair the ios has some good tricks too, or at least some apps works better on ios, like fb messener where you can read the conversation without actually reading it, and the convient ios video player that works in different apps, and i have to disagree about the wifi settings change, you can just tap and hold the wifi icon or bluetooth icon and change what you need, but still.. android is waaaay better experience with much less steps to do the same job.
@@aminekhetir4291 has the settings changed to open the full wifi settings, or is it still limited to changing which network you wanna use, turn on/off etc? One of these Android versions recently (13?) changed it to be more like what I remember Apple's quick settings to be, even if you long press it would only take you to the wifi network settings to turn it on/off switch networks etc and I hated it.
You can see full email from notification by long pressing and it doesn’t mark as read for the built in mail client. Google didn’t bother to implement peek for the gmail app though. The iPhone can only show what the app developer sends in the notification, so if they wanted to, Google could make the experience much better for iPhone users, but I assume they would much rather that people switch to Android if they’re heavy Google services user
Jerry, you hit the nail on the head with this one. Also being a lifetime Android user, I finally caved when the 14 was released to give it a try and see what the hype was all about. Needless to say, it won't happen again. It is a very "restricted" experience that has many missing features that I just can't jive with.
For the cursor, a quick way to move it to where you want is to hold space then move it to exactly where you want it. I find this easier to get the cursor where I want it accurately compared with the android method. Bonus: this hold space feature works on android too.
On older iPhones with 3D Touch you can also hard press anywhere on the keyboard to move the text cursor which was even better. Spacebar limits how far down you can move. I wish it would still let you start the movement from any position
You can do it also on Android phones just tap and hold moving to left or right wherever you wanna go 😁
Actually in Android, you can map what holding space should do. Whether to change language or to move cursor.
@@amalshadin It can do the two things at the same time you don't need to map it 🤷♂️

I totally agree with the three deal breakers. The 4th for me is lack of proper file management on the iPhone.
5th is Notification management. I try to live and accomplish much with my notifications without delving into the apps. So for emails and texts, the ability to respond and delete from the notification is paramount. Non negotiable.
YES, no one talks about it. the file management on iPhone needs work. I moved to the 14 Pro after 13 years on Android and the file system bothers me the most
lack of a real file manager is a deal breaker to me
Notification management on the iOS is equivalent of Android's in 2011. Literally more than a decade behind in one of the most essential OS parts.

Massive respect for respecting your employees and not texting them outside of their work hours. This is something that many employers seemingly have forgotten about with the advent of real-time messaging and smartphones. It's something that puts their employees in a weird spot since they can't really confront them without causing an unpleasant situation.
My boss has called me sometimes after 9 pm in the evening, and while I like him, it's something that I really dislike because it can ruin a whole evening with, for example, your significant other.
I work at a school. I have to be up at 6am. My principal has texted our group chat at 10-11pm on multiple occasions. Which then prompts all the responses and I ignore it.
A text after hours is annoying, but sometimes good. A call on the other hand... that you should have boundaries on.
@@SemiMono yeah a text can be fine but if it happens on a regular basis it's a thing of respecting your employees at least my contract is ending soon
How on Earth can a phone call from your boss ruin a whole evening? That sounds like an exaggeration at best. A simple press on either volume button, and the call is silenced. The Alarm thing has really helped me on Android so much honestly, I can't imagine not having that since I use timers and alarms alot to help with my time management as a chronic procrastinator.
The alarm on Android is a good extra information when you set an alarm. Since it is not on IOS, i just use Siri to set an alarm. The annoying thing about iphone is when you charge your phone, it doesn't tell how long till its fully charge. If it's available, i'm just gonna use Siri to set a timer to notify me when the time's up.
Totally agree the alarms lack of warning is dangerous… I’ve overslept a few times

It's properly more helpful In US and Canada, as we who are living in the EU, don't face this issue by simply using a 24-hour clock instead.
What's even better solution is using 24 hour clock instead of nonsense am/pm. Much more accurate and can't do mistakes like that as easily.
Just a small tip, getting to any specific setting can be faster on android. If you slide down from the top to the same screen you see notifications, you can just long press on an indicator to go to that setting. Long pressing the wifi icon will take you to connection setting, so on and so forth.
Quick tip: Hard press on the WiFi Bluetooth etc buttons brings up and easy way to get to settings for said button function. I recently switched back to iPhone as well, I absolutely loved my Note 10+ just a phenomenal phone
Apple should definitely think about scheduled texts. I didn't even know android had that. it sounds goated asf

Android has many things ios doesn't, for example creating a qr code from a contact if you want to share your number with someone is possible only on android (not sure if Apple finally implemented this)
And iPhone has that lmao, and has had it for years. WTF are you people on? It feels like people crapping on iphones here never used one.
The reminder of how many hours til my next alarm is such a clutch feature. It has saved me so many times over the years. That and the inconsistency of the back button are my two bigger sticking points. Really nice to see a fair attempt and assessment of your experience.
I just want to piggyback on this comment to let everyone know that you change the brightness level of the flashlight on a Galaxy, just click the text "flashlight" on the pulldown menu
@@MrDimitrija I was going to mention that also but it falls into the annoying clicks category. I with there was a slider that automatically pops up when you turn on the flashlight
I normally use the screen brightness instead bc it's easier to control the brightness
If the clock app used 24 hours, that would be an easy solution. There would be no need for setting the am/pm.
How easy these things are to fix shows the issue with Apple's attitude. They either don't care or very deliberately try to be different, to the detriment of consumers. Either way it's not a good attitude.
The iPhone has great hardware and I would be happy to buy it to complement my MacBook and AirPods. Unfortunately they seem to be so used to people just buying their phone by default that they have missed the point where it stopped being the best choice.
When I see time remaining is when I'm 100% sure that I've set correct alarm.
I had my Note + but the screen broke. I used it for around 4 years and would have continued using it for next 4 years. It was such a gem. And that flashlight trick was there in that
I've owned the Flip 3,4,and the 5. I never once had an issue with any of the displays until just recently. My day one Flip 5 started to develop a couple of black dotes near the edge of the center crease. I was pretty bummed. Throughout my time with the flips, I loved them. But! I also kinda just missed having note style phone as well. I ended up going to the S24 Ultra in the end. I wish you luck with your Flip 5!
What bugged me the most when I transitioned from android to iPhone (for work) was the lack of a split-screen multitasking feature - that was quite the underrated feature for all the efficiency chasers out there!
You can load two apps to share screen - just hold down on the second app icon you want displayed and steer the icon to the screen with your finger. Hope that helps ( probably easier to see how to do it with a video tbh).

What I noticed on ios is that everything is simplified and hidden as much as possible unlike android where you can see almost everything.

True, it’s also not fair to compare the default Android email app(Gmail) with a third party ios email app(Gmail). It’s not as if it’s Apple who developed the Gmail app
I’ve switched to an iPhone 15 after 13/14 years of android it was not very comfortable but 6 months in it the convenience and ecosystem benefits and the smooth OS just makes it better
I appreciate your insightful review! It's worth noting that as a seasoned Android user, you're well-versed in handy Android tricks, which may take some time to adapt to on an iPhone due to the learning curve. I think it needs to be realized you’re not using the iPhone as an iPhone. You’re trying to adapt the iPhone to what you’re familiar with in Android. It makes sense but it just won’t ever work as expected.
For instance, long-pressing the space bar on the keyboard ensures precise typing accuracy, and long-pressing icons or controls in the control center streamline settings adjustments.
Setting alarms displays the time on the Lock Screen, providing a persistent reminder unlike a fleeting toast message. Additionally, long-pressing for notifications offers a deeper level of interaction, akin to tapping to expand notifications in Android.
While I have my preference for iOS, a native ability to schedule texts and the customization options unique to Android are fantastic and unmatched. Again, great review!

The flashlight one doesn't put me anywhere into a menu, nor does it allow changing brightness. Might be a Samsung thing. I have all the same gripes with the iPhone but I'm already in the ecosystem. I use the iPhone for my personal phone and a Pixel for my work phone, I tried to use the iPhone for work but all of this and especially the call log being limited to 100 records made it impossible. Having things like a copy and paste clipboard and just a consistent keyboard in general over every app make my life so much easier.
Personally holding down the space bar to position the cursor on a letter in a message has been more effective for me than trying to click between two letters with my finger. Also airdrop is a big deal breaker as sending a document or picture from my phone doesn’t require me to upload it to google drive then going to open it on my laptop. It was the main reason i wanted an iphone. For the alarm i just prefer having a 24 hour clock so the AM PM thing is not an issue. Scheduled messages would be nice though.
Hold and drag the space bar to move through text, i think you can long press to read a full notification, and you can use shortcuts to schedule messages, although I admit shortcuts are worse, I think to some extent it is the newness, although there are some dealbreakers.
OMG that spacebar trick will save me soooo much annoyance! How are users supposed to learn about that feature???
just wanted to say that
Another small tip: when you want to type a number quickly just hold the 123 button with one thumb and type the number that you want with another and then when you stop holding it it goes back to letters.
Hold and drag spacebar, isnt easy one handed, and when you cant adjust your hand placement. long press to read notifications, again if your in a situation you might not be able to long press anything. You might need or want to just one press to get a result ( also why Android still offers on screen actions and doesn't enforce gestures ) .
It just complicates it.
About the text correction, actually if you are typing you don’t need to go to the text to click it, hold the space bar and the keyboard becomes a mouse, you don’t need additional clicks
I was gonna say holding the spacebar turns it into a keyboard cursor
Android has that too, being able to look at one letter you've input wrong and click it is way faster and preferred by most
With autocorrect and text prediction it’s unlikely that you’d get a letter wrong anyways, if you get the word wrong you can double click on the word click replace and it will give you alternatives similar to that.
You can also tap and hold on the word to quickly bring up a cursor to select within a word.
Autocorrect works only for English btw, not other languages being typed using english 😂
Very valid point on scheduling the text messages. I often find myself in the same situation, where it's late at night and want to send a message to someone, but it's way too late and it could wake them up, or it's simply something that can wait until the morning. What I have to do is copy the link or type the message to them, and then leave it there so I can send it in the morning (if I remember). That's not ideal, I agree. It would be awesome if the message could be scheduled, and I didn't have to remember to go back to message to finish sending. Good point 👍🏻

I've been using Android phones my whole life, and I'm using the Note 10+ for the last 3 years. This is the first time I ever heard about the scheduled messages and it honestly blew my mind, that's an amazing feature. Makes me wonder what else I've been missing out on lol.
Litterly me right now, it's super useful feature for me that I've never known about
Been there since 2015
A whole a lot more especially if u turn on your developer mode
Me too bro. I just picked up my Note 10+ and looked for the feature after he did it. Never even had a clue.
Me too, I didn't know about that
One of the worst disadvantages-I was shocked when I used an iPhone for about a year after using Android-was the absence of a clipboard. It's really annoying that the iOS system doesn't have a clipboard.
Can you expand on that a bit more 'cause I have no earthly idea what you're talking about. Obviously the iPhone has a clipboard. If you're referring to a clipboard that holds multiple items, then yes, maybe that's not possible but there's definitely a one item clipboard.
Moreover, the clipboard is actually universal as you can copy something from a Mac, iPhone or iPad and share that content across all devices.
@@incredibilistici think they mean that the clipboard has a history. You can retrieve something that has been copied a day ago and “overwritten” already. If you have to copy stuff from multiple apps into one area it saves a lot of time. It reminds me of the Win+V feature on windows.
@@tjl2836 --- Yeah, I acknowledged that the iPhone has a single item clipboard, which if that's something that someone uses a lot then I can understand why that would be a critical feature. There are iPhone/iPad apps that provide the ability to save a clipboard history but, as you might expect, some of them require a monthly subscription.
While others might feel that clipboard history is a crucial feature that they can't live without I can say the same thing about being able to copy and paste items from my iPhone to my Mac to my iPad and vice versa. There's AirDrop, Continuity, Hand Off, FaceTime and many other features that I miss when I'm using a Windows-based device.
Bottom line is that there are dozens of features that both Android and iOS users can't live without and for some people that spells dominance for one over the other.
While I prefer Apple products and their ecosystem I'd never say that Android doesn't have something to offer because clearly it does or else it wouldn't be so popular. But for Android users they just can't seem to make peace with the fact that maybe, just maybe, Apple's gear has something to offer. Anything Apple related gets their green panties in a twist and they shame and admonish anyone that would even consider an Apple product. Meanwhile statistics show and prove that more people switch to iPhone than Android and it's been that way for well over a decade. To suggest that all of those converters are stupid or being scammed is just nonsense. But for the die-hard loyalist Android user they can't see beyond their own bias to recognize that Apple might have something to offer.
I have pretty much ignored apple devices since the gen 2 ipod touch, I've always known they're far behind the completion but man this video really show's they're way worse than I thought they were. Storing more than one copied item is too hard for an overpriced phone? lmao
he did the iphone bad on the video its really not behind at all@@Stevo.100
Thank you for highlighting the lack of scheduling texts on iPhone. I'm never leaving Android. I use that constantly.
Really good breakdown and review. I've tried iPhone with my last phone and while I enjoy the build quality and the apple watch, I'm leaning towards going back to Android next time new flagship phones get released.
I've never had a flagship Android phone, but I want to see how that can upgrade my Android experience.
Wow. I've been using my android since forever, but just learned about the text message scheduling right now. Thanks man. We truly learn everyday.
You have been able to do this with iPhone for years
@@silkyfox7603how? I have an iPhone and I’ve never come across any way to schedule a text for later like he’s explaining he’s able to do with Android. :(
Same here lol.
@@silkyfox7603But it takes iPhone 10 steps to schedule the task. Android is one-click.
@Steve-qy6sz: I want to visit my family for Christmas, so I decided to send every one of my close friends a Merry Christmas text 4-day before Christmas and forgot. Christmas day I got text messages all day because I sent them when I thought it would be a good time for them, and the 2-hour time difference made for a fun day of my phone going crazy all day.
for me the biggest thing is "floating windows" in android. it makes the current app float over as a mini app and lets me use the phone or open another application and perform more advanced operations between them
Its funny how it works with twitch, netflix, amazon prime but not with youtube 😂
@@zaxmaxlax It does, if you have premium :C
@@zaxmaxlaxmine does
@@zaxmaxlax Google specifically disables that, you need youtube premium or whatever they call it. Or *cough* youtube revanced *cough*
@@zaxmaxlaxit works with youtube
As someone who uses my phone for work also, I agree whole heartedly. I got in a bunch of trouble because the iphone indicated that a video was attached on an email I sent via the phone, just to find out it wasn't the next day. I put no back button as a deal breaker also. I have a bunch of my staff use the "I set my alarm wrong" excuse for being tardy to their shift and I just learned from this video that thats a thing for iphones.
i have a few small remarks:
3:41 you can also swipe from the left to the right to go back
6:06 you can also push the space button for a few seconds to move the cursor, but I have to agree to you that it's annoying that you can't just type at the place you want to have the cursor
8:42 you can hold the notification icon for a few second and your iPhone gives you a preview of your arrived notification (in my experience does it only works at a couple of notifications)
Agreed. I have recently changed from galaxy S10 to 15 pro and already experienced what this guy is talking about. Huge respect for revealing these to the audience
I'm at the situation where I so love my S10 because it have everything I need and want.
the only problem is the battery.
@@davidboltbear147 yup. Battery issue was there for me as well ☹️
Jerry doesn't know how to do the things fast in iOS. That's normal if he is not used to, don't be fooled by this video. The things that he complains can be done very fast if you know how to do it. For example, with spotlight u search and call a contact in less than 1 second.
@@alexa9771Exactly, the things he listed isn’t a big deal for me with my iPhone. I know how to get to everything quickly, he did have one point though. The settings, I should be able to find it easier. I hope they do change that, unless you know a secret way I haven’t figured out yet.
same here. switched from s20 to iphone 15 pro and regretting every minute of it. I used to love apple before
I did a similar test with an iPhone last year... My last iPhone was a 3GS so I thought I would try Apple again. I came to many of the same conclusions and the notifications was the biggest thing that drove me crazy about iPhone. You explained it so well. Great video!
It should be a crime the way iOS (mis)manages notifications... and it's even better now!
tap and hold it views the full notification
lol same for me, my last phone was the same one, was jailbreak or how ever it was called, i remember hat thind made and a nswered calls, read texts, even emails. garbage, me hole family even my gf has iphone, i see them struggling every day with small things they dont like, and still say iphones are better than android, my moms phone even has a "panic atack" once
IME Notifications on iPhone come through much more reliably and faster on iPhone (I’ve missed time-sensitive notifs on Android because they came in hours late) but Android organizes those notifs much much better
same with me, deciding whenever I want iPhone mini or stay with big android phone, for me it was back button, what crazy is when I decide to google good work around for no back button everyone blaming app dev and not apple, some even crazy enough to say that apple forcing app developer to do better, are they are living in fantasy land or something, apple never give a rule on how to design good flow state so how it is app developer job to know what is the standard everyone should follow, they fully acknowledge apple stupid design but too stubborn to get out of apple @**
This is a superb video and best for those who uses their phone at it's maximum potential.
FYI: Flash light brightness can be adjusted in Samsung phones, and it was their for quite some time now.
Great video, I’ve switched to android from iPhone and felt the same way. There are hacks to streamline your flow. Moving cursor by holding spacebar and sliding. Pull down ok home screen to search contacts by name. And green means it’s a text blue means it’s an iMessage. If you want just sms disable iMessage in your settings. No more blue.
Another tip for people who care about schedule text, you can click and hold the send button to automatically bring up the schedule menu (fewer clicks) rather than clicking the plus and etc. etc. like what Jerry did in the video.
I just tried the long press and it's pretty cool, I also just Googled the Shortcuts app on iPhone and that's a mess, so you need to use a whole other app to schedule a text? That's not a shortcut! There are steps! To the "shortcut" that's wild....
I was going to say this as well. So much more efficient than the multi-step process that Zach went through.
apple want total control. android does not (yet)
I didn't even know this was a function till I saw this in the video! Guess now I can spam people all night long as long as I do the schedule send for the morning when they're awake!
Also for imsg atleast, it will tell you that the user wont receive notification until morning because of the night time feature apple has implemented, so in a way its even better then scheduling message because if user for whatever reason wakes up and checks phone, he will see the message, but it wont disturb him otherwise.
