What's better - the S24 Ultra or the iPhone 15 Pro Max? Go!
Is not the best display on the market, is not even the sharpest, there are newer panels with higher pixel density, far brighter, with support for IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Vision which S24 Ultra doesn't have, 10bit color which S24 doesn't have, and 6B colors which S24 doesn't have. In terms of health, the S24 Ultra display has a low 492HZ PWM value, much inferior to the 2160hz or even the 3840hz PWM value available on latest Oppo, Vivo or Honor flagships. The S24 Ultra has an anti-reflective panel, but other smartphones have displays on which you can type easily even when they are wet.

I've never had an iPhone. My first smartphone was a Galaxy S4. My S21 Ultra just fell down a whole flight of stone stairs, so the display is gone. Getting the S24 Ultra is a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.
Well is true, making such a claim that S24 Ultra has the best screen, requires solid tehnical arguments. And I proved you that is not the best display on the market, on contrary is far from it. The same for those small sensors on the back, take a comparison with Chinese flagship with camera tuned by Zeiss and Hasselblad and see then what phone makes the best pictures. Does S23 Ultra produce better quality photos than 15 Pro Max?
@pinetworkminer8377 iPhone has the worst quality of photos compared to Samsung and Google.
I'm not being facetious when I say that there is a chasm between the best mobile phones and mirrorless cameras with good lenses. If having even decent image quality is up there on your lists of priorities, do yourself a favour and take your mirrorless/DSLR with you (or invest in one if you don't already have one). It's all about 2 things that mobiles will never have (because by their very nature, they are not 'mobile'. 1) a large image sensor and 2) Large lenses that gather light effectively. I do understand that mobiles are WAY more practical, as you don't always have your camera gear on you, but these mobile cameras are much of a muchness and probably shouldn't affect which mobile you invest in. Most of the differences can be achieved via editing in software.@@pinetworkminer8377

I did the opposite when it came out. Been triggered by the samsung’s lacking animations and loved the iPhone since release. Might try the 24U as well tho

Money wastage
Overrated device. Nothing new on cameras, pixel cameras are way better, AI basically Pixel with a few caveats that will be forgotten about in a few weeks and at that price, it’s laughable, especially when the OnePlus 12 is out there. Samsung are laughable.
Can i record in ProRes or Log on a S24 Ultra? No? Maybe in 6 years.😅
My last 7 phones allways Samsung. But for Videoquality i gave Apple this time an try.

11:28 the spen is one of the reasons why I love samsung. I'm an digital artist and the spen has become absolutely necessary in my daily life.

I've used the Note series for a long time. The only reason I don't use the pen more, is simply because I never take the time to learn the huge amount of stuff it can do, so it doesn't become habit forming. But just the remote photo trigger is a pretty nice touch - the fact is, if I used it more, my phone would be dramatically more useful. If you have one, I recommend making yourself use it, just like anything else you have to learn. Don't be like me :D
have you ever used those huion pads? I just got one and I love it! Buuuuut now I'm just eyeballing that elgato streamdeck!
About that s-pen, I'm a steel draftsman, and a pen helps me a lot. I don't need to print big drawings and write on it. I can measure some steel constructions on-site and mark all the good and correct all the bad dimensions. Also, I can make small sketches if I need. So, it depends on what you will use that phone for :)
as someone who draws and likes to draw and love Ibis paint over other PC program, that pen is *chef kiss*
Just for the fanbois, Apple didn't do the titanium frame first - the Essential Phone PH-1 had that in 2017, Vertu did one back in 2007, and Ericsson even made one in 2000 (although that was a limited edition of only 50).

I've been using a s24 ultra for about 3 days now I upgraded from a a51 so I'm very pleased with what this phone offers

Damn man that's a huge jump!
I upgraded from my S10+ to an S23 Ultra earlier this month, and what an upgrade it is. A phone that is 95% the same as the S24 Ultra minus physically, for $500-$700 less. Sure the S24 Ultra comes in a colour I absolutely love, but it isn't worth losing the 10x camera for, getting worse battery life because the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU is not more power efficient then the custom Snapdragon 8 gen 2 "For Galaxy" edition found in ALL S23 Ultra's regardless of where you live unlike the S24 Ultra which gets the Exynos CPU outside of the NA region...
I am in love with this S23 Ultra, even though I bought it used, but like new, and like new it was, as I was able to get the information of this phone regarding its previous user, 2 months of light use before it was boxed up and sat on a shelf for a few months before I got it. The battery life is so much better then my S10+, the 120hz display is super smooth over the 60hz, Camera is obviously a million times better, and I really love the corners of the display, I didn't know how much I would until I got it. Rounded corners should be a thing of the past, they don't look anywhere near as good as the display on the S23 Ultra, same with the S22 Ultra though the curved glass was a bit much where the S23 Ultra's curved glass is perfect, and the S24 Ultra, which its flat display may be good to some, it is cheap looking to me, though the anti glare coating is nice, but easily something you can get with a screen protector.
@@AngryCanine the anti glare coating on the S24 Ultra is hard if not impossible to replace with just any screen protector though. Even samsungs own anti glare screen protector could barely match the actual anti glare properties of the screen. I only have a hydrogel screen protector in light of this as I cant find any screen protector even just a hydrogel one that offers the same anti glare properties as the actual screen of s24 ultra. Once you have the s24 ultras bare screen, its hard to look away already as it is just that very helpful when there is bright lights around. The AI is not that impressive since it could be acquired with 3rd party apps, and the tele zoom at 10x+ is a downgrade when compared to the S23U.
About the pen I think its subjective because as a Civil engineer who goes on sites regularly, whenever I see something I need to remember, I just take out the pen, Notes pops up automatically, I take the note, save it and thats it. Its been really helpful and now my company is thinking to buy Galaxy tabs for all crew to use on site and my manager is testing it.
The exact reason I have loved the Notes since my Note5, I just can't NOT have a stylus, EVER!
I finally talked my mom into getting a phone with the stylus this year!!! I think she'll be blown away by the S24 Ultra and find that the pen is so useful! I've had every note since the very first one and I have to ha e my stylus! I'm so glad they kept the stylus when they quit making the note series. I was sad to see it go but that lessened the blow, for sure. I can't wait until our phones get delivered tomorrow or Saturday! We bought 3 and they should all be here soon!! I just hope the cases make it by then! ❤
I'm a painter by trade but recently did some drywall and having the spen to write down stuff was game changing
company i work for have changed from ipads to galaxy tabs and not even 8 months and one of them conked out. The screen turned green and battery life is horrible, there is screen lag and cpu seemingly isnt fast enough. They only changed because the new software they migrated to didnt make an iphone app yet and they needed to roll out right away. I heard they plan on going back to ipads next year lol.

i have ordered the s24 ultra. don't have it yet. bit the S pen is NOT gimmicky if u know what to use it for. i personally usae it for work, having installed business software on the phone that i can use on the run and in front of customers. the s pen makes it so easy to navigate the software and get things done. it alone pays the price of tje phone!!

Thanks for the video. I had the iPhone 15pro and I switched to the s24Ultra. It's a great phone and the screen is a little better than the IPhone 15pro. The build quality is excellent and everything that this camera is able to do, from A.I, to having a s-pen etc.. is remarkable. The iPhone is great let now kid ourselves. But I am realistic and recognize that there are other phone makers that have great products. I was a little anxious/unsure about taking a phone out of my apple ecosystem, but I soon recognized that it is so silly to think that the world is going to collapse if we do so. People will still get there test messages, video calls etc...its really liberating and eye opening to see how Apple has whether directly or indirectly, made us think that we cannot function, be productive, exiist, or get things done outside of there ecosystem. I recommend people break free and see that the grass is green (no pun intended) on the other side.

I've just swapped from the 15 pro max to the s24 ultra, I'm like you and will normally swap back....but not this year. The phone is so much better than the iPhone, that said its very iphone-ish with the new ui. Also put my Apple watch ultra in the drawer and gone for the watch6 classic, which like the phone is a game changer. Good vid Mark, think you need to get out of the walled garden more 🤣
The ecosystem on samsung is really good to so if you get a laptop, tablet, watch, and buds it is the same thing.

@@aadhusharaf2171I had all the above ..but was disappointed when that Samsung got rid of your Samsung cloud storage forcing people to go outside Samsung and use Drive …which is a no for me ….I switched to Apple for iCloud for a streamline back up with everything in the one place ..

That's a nice screen protector but I always like to get the otter box defender, for double protection. It's a love and hate relationship, mostly love whenever my phone falls!

Does the iPhone Max have anything similar to the S24 Ultra vapor chamber? It sounds to me that the Samsung substantially increasing the size of this heat dissipation device from the S23 vapor chamber allows it to stay room temperature no matter what hiccup is thrown at it like some signal issue or an app winding up the internals. Whereas the iPhone doesn't seem to have this trick up its sleeve which ending up reducing battery and processing performance. Like for example when they had the ios glitch causing their first run iPhone with the titanium to overheat.
I have exactly the same S24U as you & yes it could be more Orange.
If you like your iPhone as well carry both devices. It's nice to be able to have that choice.

Had iphones for many years but last few years the upgrades are getting fewer each year so got s24 ultra with galaxy watch 6 as a freebie and I absolutely love the samsung after 3 days with it. Samsung has come a long way me thinks 😀😀
I have been using s24 ultra for a few days and must admit that it suprised me a lot. I was an iPhone user since iPhone 3GS and have from time to time switched to android but went back pretty soon afterwards. With s24 ultra it seems that I will not switch any time soon - it is trully a great phone for so many reasons, mainly because of the screen. I can completely understand your choice Mr. Ellis to stick with Apple EcoSystem, there is (unfortunately) nothing on android side that even comes close to Apple.

I'm watching this video on my S24 Ultra. I love this phone. In the hand, It feels much more refined over the S23 Ultra. The texture and feel of the titanium are nice. Display is better. I love the anti-reflective properties and better scratch resistance.
Great video as always, Mark!! For me it all comes dome to functionalities, ecosystem and edges. I travel a lot and use my wallet for almost everything. Plane tickets, for example, from all companies, work on my wallet. Samsung wallet only works with Korean Air (which I've never tried btw). I also have my quids in two banks and in Android I have to use Google wallet for one bank and Samsung wallet for the other, it's crazy. Speaking of the edges, don't your palm hurts after holding the phone for a long time?. Rounded edges are a must for me.
Do you prefer the Samsung or the Honor magic v2?

Same, I upgraded from the Note 9 too, but I got black 1TB. But orange was my second option. I bought the orange one for my mom, she has the galaxy s8+.
I love my S24U. I was also trapped with Apple before. I switched when the S21U came out. Also, I got the beautiful tab S8U which I still have because it's still as gorgeous as I first got it. I am not going back to the iPhone any time soon. So glad I made the switch. But yes, it's more difficult to switch if you're too invested in the Apple ecosystem. My use is pretty basic, so it wasn't that hard to switch
99% are not stuck in any eco system.
@@TheChcam ... Not with android. You can switch phones anytime or even go back to iOS anytime. The reason why I am stuck with android is not because of its ecosystem. It's simply because I like it more.

Hi, love your commentary's, very informative but 1 thing I haven't heard anyone talking about is , when trying to record an 8k or 4k video in auto or pro the view is upside down??? I'm sure this will be fixed in an update or am I and a few friends with S24 Ultra's just not using it properly???😮
Hi, I haven't been using iPhone since 5s, switched to Samsung, but I'm curious regarding low light photos which you mentioned, more specifically, in clubs and festivals. I didn't have issue with S21 Ultra but S23 Ultra completely lightened and "burned" my photos every time lightshow or LED screen visuals light would fall on someone's / my face. As you mentioned the club, did you maybe try 15PM and S24 inside the club? I love 15PM looks, colors, and rounded courners feel better while holding the phone. I only tried it in the mobile phone stores, and you can't even get the real perception of weight due to that thingie attached which prevents stealth but still felt lighter than S23 or S24 Ultra.

In reference to signal strength, there are numerous contributing factors. However, I will provide my insights comparing the T-Mobile branded S23 Ultra phone to the unlocked S24 Ultra phone. Residing in North Texas, where reception is poor, my S23 Ultra lacked service in my home office. In contrast, the S24 Ultra displayed two bars, resulting in an exceptional call quality. Additionally, the data speeds were satisfactory, approximately 75/15.
Thank you for your reply, I have a iphone13 Pro and thinking of changing and saw the S24 the other day. The function of using a pen on screen for farm mapping attracts me and hopefully a bit better coverage for calls. Thanks again

Great review Mark thank you - it's nice to have reviews from the UK, no offence to our American friends. I have the s24 ultra and cannot decide whether to keep it. Like you, I am also tied into the Apple ecosystem but I really wanted a change. Some of the comments on here a rather surprising, but each to their own i guess. One thing I will say about the s24, voice to text in some apps is appalling - it stops every other word and I think my diction is quite clear! You now have another subscriber.
The thing you said about the eco system:
The copying is actually easily achievable by downloading samsung flow on both your pc / laptop and your phone. It'll let you do a lot more than that, but when that's installed, it's one of the things you can do.
The watch, well yeah, the only thing I could say would be that the gw5 pro has been very good for me, but unlike other apple products, I've never had a apple watch, so I can't really talk about that.
To the part about having a s24... In switzerland we're still waiting... The official release is on the 20th, which is also the shipping date stated on my order on the samsung website, but I've recieved a mail stating that it could arrive between the 5th and the 18th...
My smarttags that I've gotten for free with them will only arrive in march, which I don't really care about but the galaxy buds2 pro will only arrive in april (which are WAYYY better than the apple equivalent imo - another point for the samsung eco system), but they're sending me a free charger as an apology
Had my S24U for a week, not played around with AI much but its a much better phone than my S22U. Still cant switch full time to Apple as i find the keyboard and some bits of IOS so frustrating.......might be because im so used to Samsung UI ??

I had been using apple for years and switched now. Yes they are some growing pains :-) trying to escape the echo system but managed to keep my Apple Watch and AirPods for gym sessions with my Apple Music but then everything else is on the ultra. Every day I add something to the Ultra apps settings etc and making it easier to live with. Yes it will be hard at first to escape the echo system of apple but once you do, things will only get better and you will not be too bored with the phone as it has lots of options to entertain you and express your own personality. Iphone is good but so is most other phones these days. My last android was ultra 20 so quite a few years back and the only thing that annoyed me was a battery life. Overheating issues seems to disappear. Only time will tell if I keep my ultra but so far I am enjoying discovering new things. My last phone is an apple 14 pro and yes I think this is a better phone overall.
So did you keep you old phone (iPhone 14 Pro) because you need it for you apple watch and apple music? I'm asking because I'm switching too and I do have an iPhone 14 Pro and an Apple watch.

Curved corners on phones or screens make no sense to me. So you make a rectangular screen, and shave the edge off so I can... what? What advantage does that offer me? Comfort? What am I doing with it that makes it uncomfortable? Am I really not using a case anyway, given the prevalence of weird camera bumps for no reason. Such a weird thing to do. Almost as bad as making digital watch faces circular. :(
But yeah, the S23 and S24 Ultra do not have silly curved corners like they're made by the people who make safety scissors for five year olds.

I had an iphone XR that does me for what I need but the battery barely lasts me a morning now so it was time to upgrade, I was hovering over the iphone 15 pro and saw this come up, i was drawn to it by the samsung offer of the free galaxy buds etc but did a bit of research and decided to go for it, got the 256gb in black, would of gone for the 512 or 1tb but o2 dont do the 1tb and the 512 was a 4 week delay. It arrived today and i havent transfered my stuff over yet but very impressed with the little bits ive seen so far.
I think the pens worth depends on what you work with. I use the pen almost everyday for work.
Thats why i keep buying Samsung phones with pens, instead of something more cheeper. I work as an electrician and i take a lot of photos of work stuff.. Schematics that need to be updated after work. I take photos and draw on them how i need to update them back at the office, so i can leave the pappers on site if someone needs them.
When i´m out to look at a job that need a quotation, Taking a picture of it. write and draw on it whats need to be done and send it back to the people that do the quotation calculation and them can just call me back if they have any questions while i´m at a different workplace and do some work
Great examples. The reason I rarely use mine is because I don't learn what I can use it for and always mean to. It's still the best phone Samsung make though and inherently superior to anything that doesn't have a stylus because it has one. Those of us not using them, are just not learning how our tech works. It wouldn't be downgrading to the non-Note line anyway.

I am wanting to switch to Android but I’m going to wait until iPhone gets RCS so I don’t have issues texting friends and family. Just got the 15 Pro and had a feeling you’d also stay on iPhone due to the ecosystem. At the end of the day the ecosystem and how you communicate with other devices is just huge.

I've had a Note since the Note 2 and my s21U was the first time i didn't have the s-pen. I missed it terribly and hated digging it out of my purse to use it. I'm so glad to have it and especially screen off memo back on my brand new s24U! Loving every moment of my new phone.
Always appreciate your take Mark! For so long its been Apple vs. Android... at the end of the day we all have bias and preference, that part of this "being human" thing. For years I dabbed in Android but always went running back to apple. For some reason (many awesome features), the last time I switched to thr S23Ultra, it stuck... and ive tried going back to apple, but it just doesnt have the same fuzzy feeling it once has. For me, I just see the lack of innovation and even more, the restrictive nature of their ecosystem. That being said, I do miss only having FOMO once a year and not throughout the year like with all the cool tech that comes out on the Android platform!

Not to quibble but Essential did Titanium well before either (and ceramic back) on the PH1 in 2017. Unfortunately failed venture...mine still runs like a champ without a mark on it.....used a media player now.

I've been a note user since the note 2 and I can't use a phone with out a pen. When I'm using my phone to edit photos on the go with photoshop it makes everything a dream. I use it mostly for photos but when i want to take a quick note it make it so easy.
I barely use the s pen but it'e nice to have when I do need it. Plus it's nice to flex to my family and friends with lol. My S24 Ultra makes their phones look so boring.

I wish the pen came with lower tier phones too. I just ordered, and am eager to use the pen for a lot of note taking and basic sketch/diagram stuff. I think a feature like that with the pen built in is super handy.

I have ordered the s24 ultra. I don't have it yet. I am currently using note 10 plus. I use the s pen often due to my large finger, not hitting the right button. My 1st time use s pen was on the note 3 that I use for until it fell into the dish water. I been a fan of the note series I sad to see them discontinue but glad they kept the s pen around.
Does circle to search do anything Google lens doesn’t? Like is it a new feature performing the search or is it just a new way to select the item by circling and then it just passes off to lens?
Good question! I suspect the feature can be used to search notes or pics on your phone as well as the internet??? Samsung and Google are collaborating on some things per the Samsung tech I spoke with in customer support.

I do want to switch from my iPhone 13 Pro Max to the S24 ultra. But I have 2 Apple Watches, an iPad, a mac and 3 sets of AirPods. Now I can’t just ditch the rest of them away.
For me the Mac is genuinely the best computer system out there, the iPad too is the best tablet/notetaking machine and the AirPods definitely provide the best user experience by simply pairing good enough sound with the convenience of switching between my devices easily.
But the iPhone is truly frustrating. It feels like I’ve been using the same device since 2018 even though I’ve owned 2 different max model iPhones in that time.
I need that switch to the S24 but I don’t know how I’ll be able to use my Apple watch and AirPods with it. I can find workarounds with the mac and iPad.
So what should I do?? How do I get out?
IMO It's not worth getting out of the ecosystem . You should probably buy the ultra if you can afford and stick with two phones if you have the possibility. Each one has its own bells and whistles, and you'll be happier with apple watch + airpods than galaxy watch with the buds, trust me. Much more accurate readings, much more fluid UI and etc.. But it's soooo worth it to buy the Samsung flagship. The camera is stellar, the flexibility is amazing and you can integrate both devices with Google Photos. I would however get a smaller iPhone just for the convenience (I currently have a 13 pro - not max-- and s23 ultra which I love - killer combo)
Switch, but have enough money to buy a iPhone again. It will be fun for a few months because it’s all new but later you’ll realise how the apps crash, it becomes laggy after a few updates, photos and videos take up way more space than on an iPhone, the video sucks, and sometimes stutter. The variable refresh rate sometimes lags and you get stuck with what feels like 10fps for a few seconds at times, the screen scratches super easily compared to iPhones front glass and so much more. They are awesome phones yes, but they feel like beta projects and the entire experience doesn’t feel cohesive. There are things I miss that I wish iPhone had, but iPhone just works and smoothly for me anyway. Plus the iPhone doesn’t dig into your hands with long use due the rounded off edges. Call me a power user or perfectionist, but I think for that amount of money, the phones should work damn near perfectly

@stop_lying_bro damn. Yeah my s9 screen was hella solid. Mind u I designate a pocket & don't put anything else in that pocket. Not worth the risk. Unfortunately that didn't save my usb c port a couple yrs in but oddly enough that issue magically appeared after an update. Still used for yrs charging wirelessly after.
Annoying tho cuz it said it had moisture & I've always been very careful not to keep phone anywhere near water including a steamy bthrm during shower & I never had a port issue on any phone previously. Oh well. Still works great but was time for an upgrade. Now babying my s24 ultra
By the way in the circle to search feature, you don't need to take picture, u can open the camera point at the object and circle right on the spot, without having to take a picture.
The spen is no gimic very useful its a remote and on screen writing tool that i use lots for lists and notes at work and otherwise and take pictures of lists that are given to me and check them offwith the spen aswell super cool
tbh, I'm genuinely thinking of getting S24 ultra, however, the macbook, apple watch, airpods, iPod are indeed handcuffs. I'm still using XR though lol, so it's still a huge dilemma for me to get either S24 ultra or 15 pro max...

Choose wisely. Remember all that glitters isn’t gold. I made the switch and regretted it. The phones are super cool but gimmicky and probably only work mostly fine for a half year. I say this as someone who spent over $2600 because I bought an ultra then hated it so I bought a 15 Pro Max. Yes, I don’t have some features and I do miss some, like really but the constant lag here or there and social media apps being dog poo along with video really put me off. It would be a great phone if it would be optimised like iPhones.
@@stop_lying_broLag hasn't been my experience at all. In face the Ultras I have owned have been beasts. It even feels faster if you go into Developer settings and disable or reduce animations. I think you are imagining. 😂. Both are great phones and is a matter of opinion these days. If you want boring and iPhone suits you fine then that's OK. I am not one to upload many videos to social media so I can't comment much on that. But the times I did I didn't see any issues.

What about the vivid display mode not working? You did not mention that. Why?
Samsung is being back and forth on the dull colors and faulty vivid option. I doubt they can fix it's dull/tinted colors. I keep finding myself using my old s10+ that has a colorful screen, the 24u is probably going back to Verizon.
I just came from Best Buy and tested the S24 Ultra. The Vivid and Natural in display settings not working. I also noticed my S23 Ultra had a brighter and sharper screen. Not sure if it's all units or some.
@@joyfulone1974 Vivid mode does slightly change colors on my 24u, but it's still dull and harsh. I feel the anti reflection qualities are to blame at this point.
@Dat_Sun yeah that's just too bad. Seems like Samsung is going backwards in some ways. I'm used to colorful & vibrant screen colors. It's a nice phone but I wasn't highly impressed.
@@Dat_Sun That was my exact suspicion at first. My S24U's display does seem to be less brighter and colorful than my S22U's display. I hope this isi just a post launch issue and Samsung can fix it with a future software update.
oh and i agree w many people on here about the s-pen. it def really matters on ur daily life. i coach often, so quickly drawing a route, play etc. without needing an extra device is really helpful.

An update comes from Samsung to improve cameras , most of the time if theres anything wrong they usually fix it in the first month so , if you don't see improvements after a month you can stop hoping

You talked about interpreter on Ultra, but I believe this feature has been available for some time with the Google Translate app. Also, you took a photo, then opened it in Gallery, then used Circle to Search. Wouldn't it have been quicker to take a photo using Google Lens. This feature has also been available for some time. Am I missing something here?

I’ve been tempted to try the Samsung S24 ultra, however ……. I too, enjoy the iOS ecosystem.
I also really like that the MagSafe magnet is built into the Apple phone. I like various pop socket handles so I can hold the phone much more easily. I also find that the cases that are made for the s24 with the magnets built in are not as strong as the magnets that are built into the phone of Apple .
Last, but not least, I could never give up the reliable, extremely secure, and consistent Face ID to unlock my iPhone
I love my 24 Ultra but I have a few issues. 1. When I plug my phone into my car and have android auto on the music will play then it will go silent. So with the driving mode on it does this so I have turn off driving mode in order to listen to music and I'm using UA-cam music. Another is when I have sleep mode enabled if I'm on UA-cam then the sound cuts out and have to turn that off to continue to listen. Hope this gets sorted in a software update. As for the screen issues it's not bothering me because I came from an iPhone 14 pro and have it set to natural instead of vivid.
Get used to it. This is unfortunately the Samsung experience that no one talks about. I’m not a hater as I own both but I strongly dislike how the Ultras are hyped with no mentions of its pit falls. Try updating everything possible and a restart to see what happens. Things like this is why I went back to iPhone.
Yes I have the 24 ultra, yes it is the best phone I have enter had. I hand had iPhones till the 13 pro. Switched from it with no issues. I have now got a Samsung watch. Btw copy and paste works with windows and galaxy devices. So more useful for me at work than my iPhones. And with local send or arc it will work Samsung to mac.... Just saying

I sold off my iPad pro, watch ultra, iPhone 14 pro max end of last year and feel liberated. I don't miss the iPhone or iPad at all, it's just the watch that I sometimes miss. Got a casio g shock with all the health features I need and I'm not looking to go back. I'm keeping my MacBook pro though.

Pre ordered the s24ultra and arrived yesterday.. its nothing special to be honest. Finger print doesn't work well at all and face id takes forever, the corners are way too sharp on the phone and its just too big. Wanted to see what all the fuss was about so thought id give it a try. The only thing i do like about it is the keyboard, its a lot nicer to type on than the iphones. It just doesnt feel as classy as an iphone. Dont think ill be keeping it for too long. Also just an added note, if you put a screen protector on your phone the anti reflective properties are rendered useless as you still get the reflections off the protector.
I disagree with all of that,my Face ID and fingerprint work great . Love the screen I have had notes since Note four. I love my S24.But you do what’s best for you.Thats your experience and it’s your money.I will be keeping mine 😊
Oh and the note about the screen protector use the ones from Samsung. Work great on the S24 ultra .
@carolyndurant8413 must be my phone then as My face id is still terrible especially in low light, it just doesn't work. Fingerprint is ok. I'm having to hold my phone up close to my face and straight on almost like a retina scan. My iphone face id was flawless and would work from 2ft away from my face.
I'm using my S22 Ultra. Looking to the future with the camera really a Standout with 5X and The lens changes wile filming .The one thing that not talked about is the fact you or anyone must consider is choosing the 512gb version because the updates that are killing the 128gb with constant daily updates getting larger and the video of 4k and now 8k taking even more space. The 256GB is limited. To future proof get the 512gb or larger capacity is a must. That's one of my newest concerns especially now. Battery life while the best.Can be improved with updates if they choose to do so.The only way at this point is to choose a limited number of Apps .
The Constant adding of to many applications is reducing any gains in battery life. Results may very on your types of Apps .Just a few concerns but will be looking to get the S24 Ultra with 512gb storage again to future proof for usage and Resale wich can improve the sellabilty of the phone Good Video 😎
I just missed the big big big Bonus, to get S24U with the 2x storage discount. Mainly cause what I heard, was about S23U getting that update soon, which should open up some AI features swell? Am I on the right track? Materials aside, is it so, that moneywise 23 & 24 are quite similar, some camera changes plus the display ( with some bugs, still unsolved). If you look at the prize vs the little changes, would keeping S23U this year, make sense?🤔💥

my question is Im a full time user of Samsung like ive been suing samsung's for about 8 years Is it worth getting the 24Ultra Over the 24 plus is it any major difference other than the stylus as right now im using the Note 9 and even after many many years of using the note 9 I forget to use the stylus lol so is having the stylus on the ultra worth it OR just get the Plus?
was a full on apple sheep for years had everything: iMac, ipad, iphone and watch and yes it worked well together. then i got a Note 8 and that was it, I swapped to a PC (its more power for less money) and over time i got a samsung tablet and a samsung watch and just got the s24 U at preorder I can move files easy between devices and going from phone to tablet is almost flawless so you can break free if you want.
Thanks for the video. You forgot a very important fact, and that is that Apple offers significantly longer software support. I've always been a Samsung fan, Note 9, Tab 8 ultra, 12.2 Pro yet are very disappointed at Samsungs lack of decent software support on premium devices as these. Yes, and I know about the 7 year support on the s24, a bit late to the game, I'd say. O', and my 2014 IPad Air 2 just got it's latest software update today. 9 years and 3 months software support!! Is that not what all premium devices should offer!

Also for the spen. To most people i agree to your point its mostly a gimic. But spen was my main moto to buy s23U as i love to take hand written notes. I use to keep multiple phycial small diaries to keep nots of different things. Now i just need to pull my spen out and write.
You can copy from 24 ultra to and from windows easily with link to windows. Easy set up and seamless to use. Comes built into recent Samsung smartphones.
There is no sucked into the eco system, consistent usage over a year in real life, the IPhone and all its accessories beat everything Samsung has to offer. That why you use an iPhone., and I’m sure if you are really honest Mark, that’s why you do to. 🤷🏾

Just Dex alone beats Apple. Connect a ps5 controller or xbox controller to your phone in Dex mode and connect wireless or wired to a TV and you have a built-in game console in your phone, apple can't compete and that's just one thing 😅
Yeah most people use a games console for gaming, if you have consoles why you need your phones to become a console? The fact that Samsung users as you need to justify why the Samsung is better says it all. It isn’t better, it’s just different. Btw I use both android and iOS. I just don’t see why everyone gets so emotional over operating systems. Let’s be clear, iPhones are amazing. I’d say the OnePlus 12 is a better buy than the 24 ultra. 🤷🏾

Is not the best display on the market, is not even the sharpest, there are newer panels with higher pixel density, far brighter, with support for IMAX Enhanced and Dolby Vision which S24 Ultra doesn't have, 10bit color which S24 doesn't have, and 6B colors which S24 doesn't have. In terms of health, the S24 Ultra display has a low 492HZ PWM value, much inferior to the 2160hz or even the 3840hz PWM value available on latest Oppo, Vivo or Honor flagships. The S24 Ultra has an anti-reflective panel, but other smartphones have displays on which you can type easily even when they are wet.

I use the spen for note taking and as a camera trigger. I feel guitly that I haven't taken the time to learn how to use it fully. I am upgrading form the S23 Ultra to the S24 Ultra 1T mostly because I am planning to keep it for 5 to 7 years bnecasue of the 7 year update promise. I think the hardware is more that good enough to last me through 2031 without upgrading hardware. Wish me luck.
I use my S23 Ultra's S Pen a lot, and I think it is really handy to have always on the phone rather then in a back pocket or at home when you need it and don't have it. I take a lot of notes because my memory is terrible, and instead of typing them out, I use the pen because my hand writing is also terrible, but I need to improve on that, and no better way to do so them to be writing. I use it for navigating the phone sometimes, which is a nice experience, I also use it when streaming my desktop PC to my phone because of how small the icons and such are and the pen makes it easier to use, I also use the button for pictures which is really handy for taking super still images while on a tripod, and in dark situations where being as still as possible is important, where touching the phone can reduce the quality because of the slight movement, Game emulation, specifically Nintendo DS and 3DS the pen gives you a more authentic experience because you would be using the pen that came with those systems while using those systems, other mobile games the pen comes in handy when playing, especially those that require exact movements or placing which the pen gives the best experience with. There are so many ways to use the pen that at first, you may not see a reason to or maybe not want to, but after making yourself use it more often, you find that you want to use it rather then not want to use it. And I guess for others, it is something that is best to have rather then not have it for those times you may find yourself wanting to use it. It is one of the defining features of this phone, as no other phone out there that is worth a damn does this, and I love it. If Samsung were to ditch this, I would be crushed, because I absolutely love it, and wonder why I never had a phone with the pen in it before this S23 Ultra, like why I never bought a Note 10+ when I instead bought an S10+ many years ago... I hate myself for not getting the Note 10+, but whatever, my S10+ was still a great phone... just could have been better lol
I sent it back, S23U can’t shoot animals in motion, too. So why go to a more expensive device?

I have an old note 21 but the pen is really useful not just for really taking instant reminders but even to the extent of talking zoom notes without looking intrusive
Did you find the screen protector increased the reflectivity, or did it remain the same?
Have a basic 1 on mine now & it's still very good & noticeable screen difference as far as anti glare but will upgrade my basic 1 for a better 1. Wanted to research best bet but have something on it in the meantime
