Still rocking a Pixel 6. It still does everything I need it to. I'll re-evaluate my options when/if a manufacturer releases a smaller flagship (under 6"). Phones are too big to use one handed which you do a lot when you have young kids 😅
I've ordered the S24 Ultra. It's the RESALE value that's as important to me as the initial outlay. That and the free galaxy watch 6, double the disk space, and an early bird price that also helps bring the cost down when I resell the watch !
I d nvr go back to one plus again since they killed the oxygen OS, it looks like iphone copy chinese oppo software now, Team pixel for me, you can find good deals with pixel too
@@Ciki92 Pixel is good, but the problem for me is that high-res megapixel images (over 12mp) are locked behind the Pixel 7a and 8 Pro. Additionally, battery life is average and Tensor is often said to be weaker than the Snapdragon chips when it comes to gaming.
OnePlus doesn't need a super fast shutter because like the Open (which I have) has a "hold shutter down for" burst or video mode. It seems other phone manufacturers have removed that feature. I appreciate that SLR feel.
Was with OPlus for the 1, 3T, and 5T. Went to Samsung after they made their software not crap. OPlus got me back with this one. Very impressive. Can't wait to get it in hand.
100 watts included in the box ( i can use my 100 watts anker if i want to) Excellent display ( i prefer curved) Huge battery Clean os Future proof specs Great cameras Much better value than whatever apple or Samsung are doing thats for sure
I hate to break it to you. I have 100w Anker, it doesn't support the supervooc charging. It will peak at 18w on third party charger. You HAVE TO use a OnePlus charger in order to use supervooc charging experience.
Sorry to say but you can only use the Supervooc charger to charge your phone at 100W. Gan Charger might do the job at 40-45W. So you should take care of your 100W charger properly. But definitely the OnePlus12 is by far the best value for money smartphone of the year.
I really don't seem to pay double to price for ultra or pro max just for a tab better photos. I mean at the end everyone will end up switching to a new phone in next 4years. One won't be using same phone for 10 yrs.
@@prasadmankar7650 Same argument can be used with the software support. People want more of it, praising phones that offer 7+ years of support, which is good for second hand market, but not many people will buy such phone in those 7 years. At that point in those 7 years, they can buy a 2yo phone that's the same price but 5x better. Look at the jumps we're making now every 2 years. In 7 years, phones like the Pixel 8 will be history, and that bad boy has problems now, I don't want to see how it performs in 7 years. 5 years is plenty enough. Needless to say, whoever pays twice as much for a 15 Pro Max or the S24 Ultra instead of something like the Oneplus 12, really doesn't know what to spend their money on.
@@vaultboy1419Samsung has better security, better cohesive ecosystem with exclusive features, more quality of life features, better and timlier software updates, bixby routines and modes, better security, more customization, and better trade in value. Just because people want to buy something you don't, doesn't mean they wasted their money. Some people travel and would need features like Circle to Search and Live Translator to get around. Don't be like that.
5.4Ah was defo the right move consider the type of batteries used. it'll help with the lifespan quite a bit to offset the degradation from fast charging a bit more
My realme gt Neo 2 a 500 dollar phone has 65 watt charger and 4800 mah I still last the same 6-8 hours heavy continuous use per charge in 40 minutes complete. I use the phone for almost 3 years since it came out no noticable degradation at all.
It depends if you enjoy the android experience over ios really or vice versa, I like customisation, fingerprint scanner,I actually find the iPhone quite boring if I am being honest, yes ios is smooth and fast, but there is no much more to do with an android phone especially a oneplus, personally I would save yourself £300/$300 and get the oneplus 12.
I'm considering the same, but I'm on the base 9. Have you checked the trade in?? INSANE. They'll give me $300 for mine, bringing the larger storage 12 to $500 on preorder. I literally paid $300 for it new on a closeout deal at Best buy.
I'm in the same situation, but my 9pro broke, i seriously considered iphone BUT, try the iphone "back" button and stupid keyboard, for me it was a surprise and a reason not to buy and iphone, it is really not comfortable to use back button in left upper corner with one hand compared to our beloved side swipe.
I had a 9 pro 12gb which I loved. Loved the screen, the speed and the fast charging. The front camera was awful though. I switched the 14 pro max a year ago however I do miss the one plus.
You're right. But having a call screening feature really is game charger. But with this being Android I'm sure all these new phones will get these so called "AI" features
With the kind of trading OnePlus is giving I can get this phone 16gb and 512gb, Snapdragon 8 gen 3 for $540 and with these kinds of specs that's one hell of a deal!
I have watched several videos comparing the two phones. I have been a Samsung customer since 2012 and they make the best mobile phones. However, the $500 difference in price for a similar phone which has similar features is drawing my attention to OnePlus. Thanks for your honest review.
I loved on my OnePlus 8 the sidebar option where you could lunch screen translate or Google lens or music player without having to leave the actual app you been using. Its the feature s24 ultra does now by holding the lower screen. It is so convenient on OnePlus though. I moved to Google pixel for the camera mainly, but i regretted how good OnePlus was for everything, especially for the battery and the charging speed. i would get like 20% in 5 minute when i needed. Once you use a fast charging phone, only then you know. Im definitely going back to OnePlus.
This phone is rocking !!! I love the 50 watt wireless charging - I ordered mine right after the keynote - I am excited - get one or be a big square - best phone available !!
Finally a great replacement for my 6T! This is a 5yo+ phone and I've had it in my hands for nearly 5. I feel like the jump from my 6T to the 12 will be absolutely mind blowing
I agree with you that OnePlus has regained some of their mojo. That is a hell of a phone for $799! I, however, will be sticking with the S24 Ultra. As a low vision person, zoom prowess means much more to me then most others, making the premium price still worth it.
Here in the US they are giving storage upgrade for free and 260 bucks on trade in for older oneplus, it comes down to 550 dollars, then it's hard to argue against
No, it is actually more impressive than the Ultra in most ways. Only the camera is worse, really. Unmatched in pretty much every other way. At nearly half the price, One Plus are back.
@@VColossalV the cooling is worse based on the OnePlus 12 losing to the Ultra in sustained benchmarks, the software support is definitely worse and I would prefer comparing it to the S24+ Edit: Performance is actually better than the S24 series either due to a software update or because of its default performance mode not being the highest
@@Exotic-9780 The battery tech is leagues better than the Ultra. Even with the benchmarks shown in the video the Ultra was using nearly 3 times the battery for only a tiny advantage in performance, the battery management tech is the best of any phone on the market, by a mile. Samsung and Apple should be embarrassed that a phone nearly half the price can charge faster with wireless charging than their phones can wired. Really lagging behind in that aspect. The 12 can last for days without needing to charge. The eye strain is much less, also thanks to new tech. Display gets much brighter. Supports Dolby Vision. Aqua touch means you can use the phone while wet. Actually includes a 100 watt charger in the box.
OnePlus 12 sounds very good, I am not interested in those gimmicky AI features. Problem is that in Norway they sell for 13 000 NOK (1250 USD) instead of 800 :( Plus the shutter speed annoys me a lot in my current phone, which is a S22ultra.
The cheapest one is 11790 NOK, (1130 USD). Just remember that our prices has tax included while USA doesn't, so all in all, the price difference is not that great. I also has the s22 ultra, and I was kinda ready to get rid of the curved edges, but this phone just seems like a more exciting upgrade than the s24 ultra. I wish samsung would have updated their design a little.
My only wish is that they'd have offered the White version in US as well. Otherwise I'm highly impressed. Been away from OPlus since the 5T, 3T, & 1. Happy to be back, can't wait to check it out.
I've been away since the beloved 7 Pro. Been using the s22 ultra and I'm definitely going to be picking up this OnePlus 12. Not impressed with the Sammy overall. It's great to see OnePlus back.
@@noahandky3019 Still rocking the 7T Pro McLaren after all these years. Everything since the 7 series has felt "meh". But this 12 may finally convince me to upgrade
Amazing phone for the price. But honestly I'm SO done with curved screens. It felt cool and different when I had the S8 in 2017, but by now, with the S21 Ultra ive had for three years, I'm so done with it. I'm getting the S24+ (just because its $350 cheaper for me than the S24 Ultra) and am very excited.
For me, I don't love or hate the curved screens, they are just a meh thing. I DO massively prefer curved corners to square, though. If I am going with a flat screen, I like the implementation on iPhone and Pixel, whereas the Oneplus I don't love those curved edges, but they aren't a dealbreaker by any stretch.
I'm on the s22+, came from OnePlus 7t(supposedly flat, slight curve) the 22+ feels more secure in my had but also feels heavier, thicker and chunkier(just cuz of the design)
I got the OP12 (16g ram) & the new OP Watch 2 bundled for less than $990....Oneplus slayed Samsung on this launch. And to me the non Ai made it even better with no gimmicky BS & bloatware.
Oneplus 12 is a bit slower in 3d Mark Stress Test, but you can see that the battery temp is 38degrees while on the S24U is 43degrees. That basically makes OnePlus the better phone in terms of performance, at least it has better cooling.
Reviewers neglect that Samsung are pumping up benchmark results by boosting all the cores so that they have bragging rights. The negatives being terrible battery drain and heat. Once the reviews are over they will throttle performance and these scores will be meaningless.
@@andyH_England Still other Gen3 phones score higher than S24U... What you know is that every time Samsung is not the best for sustained performance and gaming.
as a samsung fan who own an s23 ultra.. i can with confident admit that oneplus12 is the winner the next time i'm buying myself a newer device i'm looking for Oneplus
I jumped on the One+ bandwagon when they released the first phone, and I have had a few models. They always been EXCELLENT quality for the price, and if I was in the market for a phone today I might pick the 12 since they finally caught up with the cameras (definitely their weak spot earlier).
Awesome review Tom! I think this is a unreal phone to be honest for the price. A real true competitor to the pixel 8 pro and s24+. Have to remember it starts at double the storage of the pixel 8 pro for 50 pounds cheaper (with a charger in the box!). Thats crazy good value. Shame we missed out on the pixel stacked sensor with this but the results still seem great! I will actually be importing one from china, can get the 16+1TB version with Oxygen OS for 710 pounds delivered (cheaper if you are happy with colour OS). Awesome phone for the money. Great job OnePlus!
Please don't buy it from china. Chinese software is never optimised. Go for the global variant. In terms of software, Camera, performance and battery every single aspect is better in the Global variant.
Best phone right now! Better than S24. Better screen, brighter screen, faster scrrolling and more BIT colors. Faster CPU, according to eveyone else doing the bench mark tests on UA-cam. Better battery, charge faster, holds you longer and a bigger one as well. Everything that really matters Plus 12 is better at. Only big thing S24 is better at is the Camera and some other gimmic things that doesn't matter at all . Samsung should be ashamed for this! Getting beaten in so many important areas by a phone so much cheaper.
@@corsinivideosVery clear facts. Eveyone else doing this on UA-cam shows this. This guy is the only one who has done bench mark test where S24 is little bit faster... I think you are a fan boy or just bought the 24 and are butthurt now lol
@@saine414 How is the screen better? You're talking nonsense. The OP12 is also super ugly and the camera isn't as good. With preorder bonuses the S24U is basically the same price as well.
I've missed OnePlus. Coming back to the 12 since I left them at 8 pro. I've been using a pixel 7 pro for the last year and I can't stand many things about it. In particular the slow as hell charging.
I'm trading in my pixel 7 pro as well for this. Tired of the connection issues with calls not getting through or weak signal for data. Must be something up with the samsung exynos antenna on the G2, Qualcomm antennas on their snapdragons are the best and most reliable
@@Blakendp83 I felt that moving from a OnePlus 8 pro was a bit of a downgrade to the Pixel 7 Pro, however at the time Oxygen OS had become very buggy and the whole experience of my OnePlus 8 Pro had tanked. The Pixel 7 Pro has many flaws. The battery life and charging speed are a killer for me. I seldom leave my phone in place for too long, so fast charging is a must. Also you can tell the processor isn't very powerful when doing any form of photo manipulation. It takes time to edit images. File browsing is also very slow. Vanilla Android is very much a hit and miss. I'm not a huge camera person, although the video and photo quality is decent on the Pixel I believe it's more software manipulation than anything else. I suspect if OnePlus wanted they could just use the same techniques as Google and get similar results. I've preordered the OnePlus 12 already, so I'm hoping it will be a significant performance upgrade over my 7 pro. I couldn't fathom upgrading to the Pixel 8 Pro. The miniscule updates are too tiny for it to be a viable phone upgrade. I hope OnePlus keep their software optimised and bug free.
Anyone looking to buy this phone, now is the time. I just got 16GB ram, 512 GB storage for $615. The original price is $899. But somehow, they are giving up to $250 trade in credit for my 2021 Motorola Edge and an extra $100 discount. That's a good value.
@wakaflockaproject Lmao, no. Better screen, better battery life(21 hours of battery and 9 hours of screen on time in a single day with 18% battery remaining), still get Samsung Dex, still get an overclocked snapdragon 8 gen 3 chipset, still get Good Lock, still got 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB on a free storage upgrade, etc. The OP+ just wins with charging speed and 16 GB of RAM. IR blasters are cool ig but very niche since I still have screen mirroring, Dex, and smart things. It has a better form factor, better set up, better color options, and the camera is undoubtedly better. The OP 12 is overrated, and people only brag about its on sheet specs.
I have the 9 Pro, and OnePlus is giving a great trade-in incentive. With the 9 Pro trade-in and the memory upgrade to 16/512 for the price of the 12/256 it's a really good deal.
@@ogkendrick6392 yeah but other brand phones are only worth $100 right? I paid $300 for my 9 new two years ago and that's the same amount they'll discount me for trade in.
The problem with the OP12 is that Samsung are being predatory with pricing and the deals out there for pre-order make the S24U a bargain. With a £600 trade-in on my S23U and the freebies, discounts and other extras the total cost is
I don't understand how the deals in other countries are so much better than here in Belgium. Trade in value for my S23 ultra 512gb is only 500 euros. There is no free cases, no galaxy watch, nothing! How unfair is that
Yeah the only reason I have stayed with Samsung so long is I really like having the s pen and with all the trade in and other bonuses I was able to get the new ultra and the 6 classic watch together for less then this phone even after tax so of course I'm going to do that. Love oneplus though and my girlfriend is very happy with hers.
I prefer the Oneplus 12 because of : - IR blaster - Very fast charging - Cooling system( no exynos, no heat) - Good battery backup - The Volume silent key (hardware) - less cheaper - 5 Years support
As a reviewer you have to compare the uncomparable, so you can justify saying the more expensive phone is better at the end. Still it's pretty funny it that it percievably competes with a much more expensive phone and even wins in some areas, while a phone that is it's equal (S24 Plus) is completely obliterated by it. Comparison just for the sake of comparing more/less expensive, crap review.
Great review! You can now pre-order the OP 12 for $699 if you send OnePlus any smartphones in any condition, working or not. You also get a free storage upgrade to 512. I have the OnePlus 11 and, even though i don't need a new phone (I absolutely love my 11) I'm seriously thinking about upgrading to the 12. That is one heck of a deal!! Thanks again for the review. 👍
It's phone season! Nice to see 1+ upped their game this year. Going to wait and see what the Magic 6 Pro brings as well but have to say the S24 Ultra looks like a beast mode phone. Seriously thinking of replacing my pixel 8Pro with one of the above
The price is a bit high, but as there is a discount for the preorder for 16+512, it's a good deal. I would like to buy S24 ultra, but the price for me is too high. OnePlus gives you almost the same quality and features as Samsung, anyway after a few years you have to change your phone. Waiting for the delivery to see in real life how it fits to me. Watched a few reviews before ordering.
@davit20s can't really say that. One Plus doesn't have Dex, Good Lock, or the exclusive UI features throughout their ecosystem. You get to customization that's pretty similar, but even that's a stretch. Not to mention a better update schedule, with more refined polished updates for improvement. It also has better battery life despite the OP having dual batteries. I've gotten 21 hours of solid battery life out of my s24+ and still had almost 20% left over. Mind you, it had my screen on time clocked at 9 hours and some change.
Hello from Oregon. Just found your channel. I ordered the 12 on launch day. After trading in my OP 9, I paid 499.09 USD and they threw in the wireless charger. I was about to order the S24 Plus, but that was 899.00. Sorry Samsung.
Definitely getting it. Even at a closer price to the s24 I'd get the OnePlus, mainly for the more comfortable in hand design, better battery life and much faster charging. I also found that I preferred most of the photos the 12 took compared to the Ultra.
After their mis management when Oppo bought them. ColorOS was handled poorly and feedback from community was not dealt with until OP11. Bad customer service I can continue.
@@Slashingthrough a small issue when you consider that they have a flagship device at half the price of their competition. Actually better than the competition in many ways.
I currently have a one plus 6 and have pre-ordered a oneplus 12. I cannot wait for it to arrive. the performance boost is going to be insane. Nice review BTW!
These two were my top contenders for switching from my current 14 PM. I went with the S24U, because of the anti reflective and flat display, OneUI is more featured pack, and lastly accessory/case support. I tried the OnePlus Open when it was released while very smooth and great battery, I really couldn't find any 3rd party accessories. Perfect examples; no D-brand skin/case support for newer OP devices, no Pitaka case, ArcPulse case is only for Apple/Samsung, no Casetify cases, and no good competing OnePlus watch.
I chose to buy s24+ to replace s20 FE . For me, it is also the Samsung ecosystem I'm used to using. I have s8 tablet and a Galaxy watch, which are, of course working in that ecosystem. I also like the size of s24+. For me, maybe the biggest issue to buy OnePlus is that it is a Chinese company.
This phone is a fantastic value proposition. They are offering $200 off the 16GB/512GB version right now, too. $100 promo and $100 for trading in "any phone" that they don't actually make you send in. And there is a $30 coupon code floating around that brings it down further. $669 when you add it all up is just a bonkers price for this thing. And it comes with a charger, too. That's another $50 in hidden value.
Would you kindly provide a link to the coupon? And what do you mean you don't have to send in the trade in? Their website states that you have to send in the unit for them to assess what it's worth and then you get to decide if you want them to give you the credit for it or just send it back to you.
The code is "Tech30." And if you choose the any phone, any condition option, they don't even want the thing. They give you the option of sending it to a eWaste recycling company and still give you the $100 off. @@NoVaK9889
I don't understand why reviewers continue to use click-baity titles as I think the viewers leave watching this video feeling underwhelmed. It's definitely not an S24U killer. Anyway 1+ already know this and had priced it accordingly. One plus is a good phone for the money you pay but lacks key features to compete with the S24U. I agree with other user comments, this phone is more in line with S24+.
The zoomed photo of the guitar shop window looked clearly superior on the One Plus 12 compared to the S24 Ultra. Which is a bit disappointing as I'm about to take delivery of an S24 Ultra in about 20 minutes. Still its early days and Samsung do say a camera fix is in the works. Then again here in Ireland the OnePlus12 costs €949 for the 12gb 256gb or €999 for the 16gb 512gb (no brainer, spend the €50) with free Buds Pro 2 tws which works out about the same as the S24 Ultra 512gb once Samsungs discounts and free Galaxy Watch 6 are factored in. Competition is good.
I agree. As someone who is also awaiting delivery of an S24U I actually think I prefer the OP color science in most of the included shots. Hopefully the rumored camera update from Samsung brings the magic.
Oneplus cameras get better during the first months. If it can compete out of box it will be really good in 6 months. /a/6UVmotu there is a Imgur link for my unedited shots with 9 Pro. You cant link anything so need to manually add imgur url to the front...
Great review. I’ve watched your Samsung 23 and 24 comparison too. I have my old Samsung note 9 to replace and key for me this time is the camera and want a camera with the best zoom. I’ve taken pictures of seals out at sea or lead singers at concerts from a reasonable distance on my current phone and the zoom is rubbish. I’m stuck on what to get, iPhone 15 plus, s23u, s24u and now this oneplus12. It’s not really a price decision, so could do with some help. Also take pictures of landscapes and the video.
Love your comparisons, especially when putting these phones side by side with other current competitors regarding benchmarks etc. It really helps. Thank you for this.
Not sure about the S24U, but the 22U has a high and a maximum processing speed toggle hidden in the edit toggles button. 8:24 otherwise it's optimized for battery life as well.
My S24U cost about £500 after trade in and various discounts. One plus give terrible trade in deals. Once you have a flagship Samsung, it's pretty cheap to upgrade. Don't forget the £500 worth of freebies i got with the S24U. Basically, the phone was free to upgrade.
I am coming from Oppo Find X2 Pro (before that Samsung S7 edge, S5 Active), I have pre-orderd OnePlus 12 it has nearly everything I want without huge sacrifice in camera department for very competative prices. If I want a larger screen with the saving, I can get a tablet or a dedicated camera or both to still have overal high(er) price/quality deal in user experience.
First of all, I really enjoy your reviews and I don't know why I haven't been subscribed until now. I pre-ordered an S24 Ultra, but I did give this one some serious thought before ultimately passing on it. They're not really in the same category as they're $500 apart, but I decided to make the stretch to the S24U for the flat display, even bezels, better telephoto camera, superior software support, and more premium build. This is gonna sound really silly, but my biggest gripe with this phone is how it looks from the front. Why are the chin and forehead so thick on a flagship phone in 2024? Seriously, if you ignore the location and/or existence of the hole-punch camera, OnePlus phones have looked almost identical from the front since the OnePlus 7 Pro. Heck, put this side-by-side with a OnePlus 8, 9, or 10 Pro and I bet most casual observers wouldn't be able to tell which is the new one just by looking at the screen. Sure, you could say the same thing about the Galaxy S series or iPhone, but at least the bezels on those have become progressively thinner with each new generation. I think my old OnePlus 9 Pro might actually have a smaller chin than this OP12. That said, you do get a lot of phone for the money compared to the S24/S24+, but I guess the trade-off is a curved display with larger-than-average bezels and slightly less premium materials (Gorilla Glass 5 instead of Victus 2 for the back panel, for example). And maybe I need new glasses, but I swear the pictures from the OnePlus 11 main camera look better, especially those with Tom as the subject The OnePlus 12 almost looks as if it's applying a beauty filter to the main camera shots, as his face looks smoothed-out with less fine details present. Maybe I'm imagining it. The telephoto camera is definitely a nice improvement over the 11, though, and at 5X appeared to be giving the S24U a run for its money in a couple of those pics. On a side note, I really wish BBK would bring more of their phones to North America, especially those super-flagship camera phones like the Find X7 Ultra. Just re-badge it as a OnePlus 12 Ultra, price it a few hundred bucks less than the S24 Ultra, and call it a day. I would've bought that over the S24U without hesitation. And yes, I know I could import a Find X7 Ultra to the US for less than an S24U, but I'm not comfortable doing that. I can at least somewhat trust that OnePlus isn't gonna send all of my personal information to Xi Jinping 😅. Or so I hope LOL
At the time you were explaining about the display reflections. You should have kept the same wallpapers on both the phones. Samsung had a darker (green) wallpaper, contrasting the apps and giving out a clearer image. On the other hand OnePlus had a lighter (white-blue) wallpaper, that did not contrast the apps on the home screen making it much harder to see the apps.
Yeah the shutter speed and poor quality camera is why i left OnePlus after the 7Pro... all the pictures of our toddler were blurry 😢. Too bad because it was SUCH a good phone otherwise. Glad to see it's getting better in some aspects. Looking forward to my S24 Ultra since Verizon gave me $1,000 credit to upgrade from my Pixel 7Pro though 😍
I think the Honor Magic 6 Pro is going to be phone of the year. The 5s cameras were outrageous and they promise to push it further this year. Can't wait to your review of it. Yours and Tech Spurt.
Great vid as always Tom. Random question......have you watched the series 'Slow Horses'? You're literally the main character in it, he's actually your twin haha. I keep watching it thinking its the tech chap
A S24 Ultra with 256GB sells for 1350GBP in Norway. 17990 NOK! We are closing in on the Z Fold-line up :O My wallet will be eyeing out for this, or the upcoming Pixels next. (or maybe a used S23 Ultra)
Beauty is in the eye of beholder, but the price is real and OP12 is a lot cheaper. The S24 is the closest Samsung in price and the OP12 is a lot better.
Love the price. I have the Oneplus open and love it. Between the open and the new 12 with that fantastic price.....Oneplus is definitely back! Love it. Nothing phone is straight garbage compared to one plus now. Between the 2 devices they provide they don't need carl. Just wish they would stop with the curves screen garbage. Flat screen all the way. You are incorrect. Most people prefer flat screen not curved. Curved make it horrible for tempered glass screen protector . what's up with the throttling? there one plus 12 has the largest vapor chamber on any phone ever.... I feel like it's the app that is not optimized for the one plus. Not the phone.
Oneplus 12 which got 12+256gb for 849 pounds, is cheaper than the S24+, much cheaper than the s24 ultra, yet it's still 370 pounds more expensive than its launching price in China.....And what makes things crazier, is that it starts from 969 euros here in Italy......and I got an offer of 1200 euros for the S24 Ultra with 12+512 GB after the discount, so...I chose the S24 Ultra
The 12 seems like a perfect all-rounder for me and ticks the important boxes fast charging / battery life. When I still used the 7pro, I could get through the day even if I realized I forgot charging my phone. Just charge it while taking a shower and you're good to go. The only main issue I have is the screen. I'm fed up with curved screens. Please, finally return to flat screens!
Coming from a OnePlus 8 pro and can't wait for my 12 to get here! Trading in my 8 pro I got the 12 for under $600 with 16gb of ram and 512 GB of storage. Hard to beat the value at that price point for what I'm getting
It's all about value for your dollar. If $$ isn't an issue to ahead and get the S24 Ultra. I'll take this over my Pixel 8 Pro. The AI features are pretty cool but I don't find myself using them often and the tensor processor, IMO, is significantly slower than snapdragon for every day use.
I heard this weighs 220gms and if we use the case it's going to increase. What do you think about using this as a daily device with a lot of calls. How's the in hand weight distribution? Will my wrist hurt ?
Hey Chaps! What's going to be your next phone??
i'm torn between the 12 and s24 ultra..
I already have the S23 Ultra so better just waiting for the S25 Ultra
Still rocking a Pixel 6. It still does everything I need it to. I'll re-evaluate my options when/if a manufacturer releases a smaller flagship (under 6"). Phones are too big to use one handed which you do a lot when you have young kids 😅
Just bought the Samsung S24 Ultra..it's amazing I love it
I've ordered the S24 Ultra. It's the RESALE value that's as important to me as the initial outlay. That and the free galaxy watch 6, double the disk space, and an early bird price that also helps bring the cost down when I resell the watch !
This phone is a no brainer. Oneplus12 has all the essentials most people would need and then some. Welcome back OnePlus!
I d nvr go back to one plus again since they killed the oxygen OS, it looks like iphone copy chinese oppo software now, Team pixel for me, you can find good deals with pixel too
@@Ciki92the only thing I have against the pixel line is the sub par fingerprint sensor and the underwhelming chip they use
Meh it'll be Samsung for me. Coming from iPhone.
Extremely sexy phone, damm and price affordable, im almost sad i bought oppo x5 pro recently for almost same price... One plus outdone it self
I preordered the Flowy Emerald version. The fast charging of OnePlus phones is addictive.
OnePlus doesn't need a super fast shutter because like the Open (which I have) has a "hold shutter down for" burst or video mode. It seems other phone manufacturers have removed that feature.
I appreciate that SLR feel.
Samsung still has burst mode. You literally just swipe down on the capture button.

Much better value than whatever apple or Samsung are doing thats for sure
I hate to break it to you. I have 100w Anker, it doesn't support the supervooc charging. It will peak at 18w on third party charger. You HAVE TO use a OnePlus charger in order to use supervooc charging experience.
Sorry to say but you can only use the Supervooc charger to charge your phone at 100W.

So you should take care of your 100W charger properly.
But definitely the OnePlus12 is by far the best value for money smartphone of the year.
Thanks guys for the notes there, much appreciated. Upgrading soon from a oneplus 8 pro. I think i will see a difference 😂
S24 ultra is cool and all, but the OP 12 seems like an epic value for money mobile. Both are close in almost all aspects.

Not to mention the feature is only free till 2025

I agree with you that OnePlus has regained some of their mojo. That is a hell of a phone for $799! I, however, will be sticking with the S24 Ultra. As a low vision person, zoom prowess means much more to me then most others, making the premium price still worth it.
Here in the US they are giving storage upgrade for free and 260 bucks on trade in for older oneplus, it comes down to 550 dollars, then it's hard to argue against
Yep, I broke out the old 8T and with trade-in got the 12 for 550$. Insane
This feels more like a S24+ competitor in my opinion
No, it is actually more impressive than the Ultra in most ways. Only the camera is worse, really. Unmatched in pretty much every other way. At nearly half the price, One Plus are back.
@@VColossalV the cooling is worse based on the OnePlus 12 losing to the Ultra in sustained benchmarks, the software support is definitely worse and I would prefer comparing it to the S24+

There is no sense to compare those phones... The price difference is enormous

I was about to order the S24 Plus, but that was 899.00. Sorry Samsung.
I think it should be better compared to the s24+ rather than the ultra, no?
Price wise, yes. But it does compete with the Ultra in many ways, and they're each companies 'flagship' phone
Definitely getting it. Even at a closer price to the s24 I'd get the OnePlus, mainly for the more comfortable in hand design, better battery life and much faster charging.
I also found that I preferred most of the photos the 12 took compared to the Ultra.

Would you kindly provide a link to the coupon? And what do you mean you don't have to send in the trade in?
Yeah, but 999 is way too much while americans get is for 700, I'll buy this phone as a back up phone around black friday , going for the ultra now
I agree. As someone who is also awaiting delivery of an S24U I actually think I prefer the OP color science in most of the included shots. Hopefully the rumored camera update from Samsung brings the magic.

Does frame rate booster works on videos as well?
It is not the killer of s24 ultra
Can't kill what's already dead.
What did you trade?
I'm curious as well.
@clay5534 S23 Ultra. £600 trade in. Got £50 off for pre order. 5% off using the samsung shop app. Got another 5% off using Samsung Pay+.
Yup, they gave $550 for my S21U, almost double what OnePlus is offering. Also got a Watch 6 Classic for $85 with it.
@@ro0ster648 Which country? In most EU, Samsung won't even look at an S21U for trade in...
This is INSANE value for money for what you're getting.
Agreed
not really, this phone is £470 in China
That actually proves it further lol@@TedThomasTT
@@TedThomasTT even better.
@@youngleon25No, it means it's insane value in China. In the UK it's £849. Just shows we're getting ripped off.
Hey Tom can you please tell me if colors on s24 ultra are washed out? I've heard they are because of the new screen
Maybe 24+ killer.. but not 24 U
It's compromised so the price is justified. Software support, cameras, screen, IP rating, build quality...
I don’t like that oneplus went with a slightly curved screen
I would definitely buy this phone if it had a flat display 😢 maybe 12R will.
It doesn't really matter. No other phone can touch the S24's anti-reflective glass. It's a game changer.
Can you please tell me which tempered glass is good for curved screen phones? ( Normal one or uv one?)
How has the experience been with S24U. How was your experience with Pixel 7Pro particularly Camera and Modem ?
I am watching this video by my oneplus 12, its really amazing power house compare to Budget
I think the Honor Magic 6 Pro is going to be phone of the year. The 5s cameras were outrageous and they promise to push it further this year. Can't wait to your review of it. Yours and Tech Spurt.

If you love bloatware and really want a bloatware device, get a Samsung.
They sell Oneplus 12 for 13 000 NOK. Much more than 800 USD in the US :(.
The S24 Ultra is so much prettier. The OnePlus curved display and left-sided camera make it the ugliest phone of 2024 (& 2023).
Would have been my next phone if it had 4k120, 4k portrait video on the front cam, 4k60 on the front cam which the s24 ultra has. And I need that.
It's literally cheaper than s24. S24 and S24+ has same design as the cheap 200 dollar A series phones
AGREED.
Yet better in every other way at nearly half the price
Same
Hated the boxy design of s24 ultra
Samsung killer 😅 , joker .
Hard to beat the value at that price point for what I'm getting
killer for the 24+ ,but for sure not for the 24ultra
It's all about value for your dollar. If $$ isn't an issue to ahead and get the S24 Ultra. I'll take this over my Pixel 8 Pro. The AI features are pretty cool but I don't find myself using them often and the tensor processor, IMO, is significantly slower than snapdragon for every day use.
I heard this weighs 220gms and if we use the case it's going to increase. What do you think about using this as a daily device with a lot of calls. How's the in hand weight distribution? Will my wrist hurt ?
The recent OnePlus 12 update has fixed the throttling.
Loved the Llama mug!! As always, a pretty good presentation: One Plus phenes are getting better. Keep up the good work.
I like 12's camera better than S24's from what I can see in this video
How does it compare in benchmark to the exynos version for us in the UK?
