You know Bill, I am starting to get the feeling that EVERY episode is very special.
Haha starting to catch on are you
Bill, you are doing the Lords work saving us whiskey drinkers some hard earned cash. The Peerless DO is the truth. Keep up the good work.
Haha thanks and yeah peerless double oak is killer and this gem was a little uncut and unpolished some might say
I picked up a 💎 in the heat of the moment @200. I'm with you, its not worth the price. I also wasn't impressed with Peerless either.
Yeah I’m just not seeing how these are worth it the regular releases are better in my mind
I have both as well as the OF 1910 and probably another twice barreled. And I would probably buy the WDO or the 1910 before the AO
Yep agreed both are better
How do the peerless DO store picks compare to the standard release? The regular DO is phenomenal, it’d be nuts if it was even better.
Well they are usually better haha go nuts. The one I have is older and has a nice cherry flavor to it not on the shelfer.
One of the things I’ve noticed … Gem of Kentucky is a high-profile $200 bottle, but I didn’t see it make anyone’s top 20 lists at the end of the year.
That’s true very astute. I guess those that liked it didn’t like it too much
Thanks for saving me $200.
You are welcome. I heard some of these were good but this one here wasn’t as good as their normal offerings which are already overpriced at $100. Way to risky gambling $200 for stuff that drinks like a $40 bottle
Hey Bill, heading down to A Smith Bowman soon with a friend to pick up a Cask Strength lottery win. Sagamore is on the way down and I'm thinking about stopping by to pick up a bottle at the distillery. Do you think the port finish is a buy for 100 doll hairs?
Congrats on the win man that’s awesome. And did you watch my review on the port sagamore? It’s a hell yes buy it’s the best port finish rye beats the hell out of mwnd for less money
I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the input. Cheers! 🥃

So many good quips on this one haha I'm not spending the coin thanks for reaffirming that
You are welcome!
Thank you for the review! For me, I'm hesitant to spend over $120 with so many great options in the $65-85 range. The Peerless is the most sophisticated double oak bourbon I've tried - Excellent. I'm waiting for a barrel proof (better yet BP SB) of Woodford Double Oak!
This one was fun to review love me some Peerless it’s much better than 2XO. I hope Woodford does a batch proof double oak would be awesome
I’ve been passing on the Gem of Kentucky due to price. Glad I was right. I have the other offerings from Dixon too if you want samples of them
Haha yeah no way I wouldn’t even pay the price of the regular series for one. I think there are probably really good ones out there but still the pricing is a real stretch even on those
💔 Is it possible that my GoK Bottle #34 is that different from yours? Mine is absolutely delicious.
Haha yes it is these are all single barrels and I heard the lower numbers were the really good ones but I’m here to say 50 ain’t worth the msrp. Glad you got one that was though
Hey Bill! Nice review! Luckily I was not sold on the 2XO series and didn't purchase the gem of kentucky when I saw it. Now I'm glad I didn't. Thanks for the video!
You are welcome. And yeah I mean just on paper it doesn’t add up you know
My favorite thumbnail picture of yours! (From your "Bourbons I Won't Buy Again.")
Haha I love it too I need to capture some more in the moment stills to use
Merry xmas dollar bill!!👍
Merry Christmas is right we bring the Christmas cheer all year long
The only one I have purchased is the American Oak. Based on reviews and comments the others are over priced so it has been a not so hard pass for me. Too many amazing bottles for the same money out their 🥃😎
Yep agreed too much better stuff out there for the price
Michael,
I just watched a comparison of the 2XO American Oak to the Woodford Double Oaked and the Woodford was the clear preference. The reviewers seemed disappointed in general with the American Oak.
That “master blender “ has no palate. Over priced Crap, same as Kentucky Owls😂
Haha I feel like the older KO was good but pricey but yeah this sib just really missed the mark for its price
I saw this 2XO GoK for $180, easy pass 😂😂😂
I guess I need to consider Pearless, but they're expensive here in CA $110-$140!!! Another pass...
That’s rough you can get them for 80 to 100 here
