Why Strelitzia SHOULD Be The 'True Dandelion'

  • In just the past week since the last Union update there's been a bunch of speculation regarding the identity of the True Dandelion. Lots of thoughts and theories have been shared. Many others agree that Strelitzia is misty likely who it is, but to me, it goes a bit further than just likelihood. It's also about who fits best narratively, thematically, and essentially who deserves that title.

    This is just my thoughts on why Streletzia should be the "True Dandelion". Like I say, it's just my take, and it's not necessarily going to be the outcome, but personally I think it should be. I'm aware her body disappears, but this is Kingdom Hearts, she's most likely going to be brought back anyway, so why not like this? Besides, too many things add up with it being her more than anyone else. But yeah, just make opinion. What's yours?

    I wish she would stay dead but Nomura made it clear he's got plans for her and this is kh. She'll be back. Her being sent through the ark at the same time as Lauriam's dream makes way too much sense. That scene with her in white was so random before but I think ur right. Other people have pointed out how the scene takes place after Malificent leaves, but what you said about her crossing over into the dream for a second sells me on it. Nomura didn't make that scene of her in the white robe coat thingy for no reason man. And her being the true dandelion fits the story Nomura is telling so far

    • @wtfnymph379
      @wtfnymph379 3 роки тому +3

      Yes. It has to be her. I'm not just saying that because I love her (maybe mostly) but because it would be the best choice story wise. I can live with Ava too but I agree with your other comment. I don't see how she ended up like that.. And she's the founder of the Dandelions, not a Dandelion herself 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @leebee7946

      I hate the idea of her staying dead tbh, she has so much potential and was taken out so unfairly that I would feel robbed if she didn't return. If you want a character to "stay dead" I'd rather it be brain or ephemer, or any of the dark road kids than strelitzia.

  • @reidpattis3127

    Hmm. Pretty interesting. I still sort of think there are quite a few possibilities. With that said, the fact that Streletzia managed to make such a good reception from us in such a short amount of time speaks volumes about her character.

  • @heyalexa8570

    This is a good way of looking at it. At the end of the day, KH is a story. When Nomura makes characters "die"/dissappear in some way he has so far shown us he'll bring them back, but first he'll put us through a gut-wrenching loss. Sora, Kairi, Xion, even Namine and Roxas to an extent and probably even more. I remember some people said Sora was dead after KH3's ending, and I saw a video and comments of people saying they hope Xion and Roxas don't come back in KH3, but all of these characters are still here anyway. Strelitzia is unlikely to be any different, especially when she's Lauriam's sister, was meant to be a Union Leader, and she's wearing this mysterious white coat, or robe as you say. There's some really interesting theories out there, but one thing you have said in this video that I strongly agree with, is that anyone else being the true Dandelion sort of robs her of her glory and kind of insults her death. I think it's unfair for Luxord or whoever to be the True Dandelion when they've had zero relevance to the story of Union Cross. So yeah, I gotta agree on this one

      Yes, the same Nomura that specifically and personally drew, colored and implemented BY HIMSELF a medal to Union X of, not Ephemera, Not Skuld, Not Lauriam, Not Ventus, Not Luxu, Not Blaine, not fucking anyone else but Strelitzia.
      Even back then, he was telling us how important she was going to be. Luxu rescued her heart and put it in a shroud of light and sent to a place she could be reconstructed. How? I dont know but I do when she was reconstructed. When Sora defeats Marluxia and becomes Lauriam and all his memories of her come back. So we got the memories, what's the medium? Hard to say, maybe Chirithy or Ventus have the answer.

      I don’t think you understand what the original comment meant. They meant that nomura will make whatever make sense for us into a twist that makes even more sense but not as obvious and that’s why Nomura’s twists are insanely great and hype. Nomura is a genius writer, Kh games story and lore make for excellent speculation and longevity between games, and not many directors/ writers can do this. He doesn’t make things up, as he creates things like the Ansem reports that are used way later to explain twists. For example zooming into Xigbar’s eyes used to be edgy and cool but actually it was hints that xigbar is important and it made sense that xigbar is Luxu, it’s not something he decided randomly.
      Sure KH story is hard to follow if you don’t keep up, but it makes sense at the end of the day. Sure there are unanswered questions or questions that don’t have complete answers, but that’s natural since the story is not complete yet and is ongoing. How do you expect an incomplete story to answer every question? There’d be no speculation between games and it’ll be very dry seasons between the games. The ambiguity and mystery is great for theorizing and sharing ideas and it keeps the KH community alive. That’s what’s special about Nomura and his writing.

    Strelitzia the stalker! I like how she runs to bed as well lol. I'd forgotten how cute she is! So you're saying you think it should be her, and I think that fits. If not her, I guess you'd say Ava is a close second? 🤔 I'd be alright with either of them but I don't think it could be anyone other than those two and tbh I don't want it to be either

    Since Ansem in KH1 as the brown robe was just a heart until he got hold of Riku, it would make sense if the white robe is just a heart in a similar state. But how Luxu would have gotten a hold of Strel's heart is the only thing that I can't really make sense of, especially if he didn't think about it til much later.

    • @NextGenNovelist
      @NextGenNovelist  3 роки тому +5

      I think that's likely the case, and how he got hold of it may be a bit of a head scratcher right now, but I think that's a minor detail compared to the alternatives. Every single candidate has a lot of inconsistencies with it being them, or it's just downright random. Strelitzia basically only has the fact her heart floated away and we don't know how Luxu got it.. That's it. So I'll take that minor confusion since I'm sure it'll be explained in some way

    I think Strelezia is the true dandelion. If you think about it, dandelions get blown away by the wind to be the seed for something new. Well the one who killed her was Ventus, who'se name means wind as well. I think that's no coincidence and that the MoM planned on this for her to somehow arrive in Quadratum (maybe she broke a nature taboo too, saving someone dear to her?).

    Interesting points! I immediately thought it was Strelitzia too because of the white robe, but you've thought this through a lot more than I have lol
    Also, the scene with the true dandelion was juxtaposed with a scene of MoM reminding what the people using the lifeboats would need in the future to be recompleted: a vessel and someone who remembers them. And right at the end of KH3, marluxia seemed to remember Strelitzia, which would be the perfect opportunity to justify bringing her back *now* in the timeline.

    I know this is a video about why Strelitzia being the true Dandelion is the most narratively satisfying answer, but I want to bring up something I don't think a lot of people are (or maybe they are and I'm just too stupid to see it :p), something that I guess semi ties in with narrative satisfaction. As per the Kingdom Hearts 3 Secret Reports, Luxu *already knows* one of the Union Leaders is an impostor; when he realizes this is admittedly not especially clear, but the last UX update shows that Luxu is finally starting to understand what his role was. I mean heck, during his time as Braig/Xigbar, he did a hell of a lot more than just "watch": there was a lot that he "touched" (granted nothing that would have significantly changed the outcome since those were _Xehanort_ 's orders but still). Like, he's explicitly wondering if the impostor's scheme was part of the Master's plan or not, but given what he says in the last update, and if this is Strelitzia, then he most certainly knew and that's why he's doing this. Who would honestly put it past the Master of Masters to trick Darkness into murdering her and inadvertently write its own undoing by allowing Luxu to transport her? And that's not even getting into the fact that being a "true Dandelion" or a "seed of light" doesn't fit any other character aside from the one _named after a flower_ and was even noted for her pure heart and strong light, something Ventus was not even privy to until he was manipulated by Darkness.
    I know a lot of people like the idea of permanently killing Strelitzia just to give that sense of loss Kingdom Hearts is known not to have but the thing is... it's kind of too late for that. Kingdom Hearts 3 and Re:MIND were _all about_ the idea of bringing back those who didn't deserve to die yet, at whatever cost, so to decide _now_ to permanently kill someone off would feel hollow (I also personally think the idea of nobody permanently dying is meant to serve a greater narrative purpose about the idea of defying fate and destiny and how it ties into the true purpose of the power of waking and the fictional realm, but that's a _whole_ other discussion). The means have already been established to exist: all that's required now is her heart. Plus, Strelitzia is more than just "girl who got murdered": she's "girl who got murdered but is clearly still around" (if she was meant to disappear for good, there was _no reason_ for her to show up in Lauriam's dream). Now what purpose she's actually meant to serve, we probably won't find out for a long time, but given everything the Master has done so far is to warp him to a time at which he can defeat the darkness, I'm wondering if Strelitzia is indeed one of the seven "crowns" and is an important key for assembling the remaining six. Unfortunately if it comes to that, I do think we then have to start talking about where the hell Ava and Skuld are (Ava especially as she'd be gobsmacked to see Strelitzia in the future) and what their roles are in relation to her, but who knows when we'll find *that* out....

    • @NextGenNovelist
      @NextGenNovelist  3 роки тому +2

      This is a great comment. I like how you addressed the narrative and thematic elements of the series that tie into this. That's where I was trying to come from with this video, and to be honest, with almost all my videos I am coming from this perspective at least in my own head. But I completely agree and I liked what you said about defying death serving a greater narrative purpose about defying fate, which is exactly what a lot of JRPGs tend to have as a theme, and KH is no different. And just as you said, it's too late for the permadeath thing after we just had a slew of rescues and revivals

      On the other hand, Ventus means Wind, and he wields wind as a weapon. Dandelions are carried on the Wind as Ava says. We know Nomura likes literal metaphors. Darkness is the Virus literally, because they create the bugs, but also metaphorically because they infected people's hearts. Same idea.

  • @morganeverley7360
    @morganeverley7360 3 роки тому +2

    Omg I actually had almost the same theory actually. Similar to this one but with a tiny bit more of a explanation.
    It would make a lot of sense timeline wise for it to be her as well as narratively.
    She didn't go with the other dandelions to the data world due to her death. Plus after much trying to differentiate the 2 pod rooms (data and non-data) it would fit right in after maleficant left after beating Laurium.
    Pretty much the reason (or one of the many) why she might/deserves to be the true dandelion is she gave way for most of the current events in union cross.
    From her death to her being in Lauriams dream. All caused the story to go in a certain direction. Her death caused darkness to infiltrate the ranks of the dandelion leaders as well as make there being uncertainty within the group. Her being in lauriams dream caused her brother to become more desperate for answers of her disappearance. Motivation.
    All lead to the events as of now. You know how the foretellers broke off and battled against one another? That's what could of happened but it didn't. I'd honestly say if darkness didn't pop out of Ven, I think the group could of ended up like the foretellers. But nah darkness had to get cocky (in its own weird way) and show itself. All the dandelion leaders fought to protect one another, even Lauriam right after he literally threw Ephemer across the room and was manhandling Brain. He found out what truly happened and instead of blaming Ven, he stuck by his side and was the one to tell him as Ventus was about to face Darkness alone that he couldn't afford to lose him too.
    You know how the dandelions were supposed to be the next generation of lightusers to prevent the darkness from taking over? To keep the light alive. I believe that that light represents hope for the future.
    Strellizia (sorry if I spelt her name wrong. My damn phones autocorrect sucks) was a light in a dark place for Lauriam. She was the catalysts for everything, no matter how much darkness keeps saying it killed her randomly.

    • @NextGenNovelist
      @NextGenNovelist  3 роки тому +2

      Completely agree. In my original version of this video I said some of what you're saying, particularly about her being the catalyst for basically the entire story of kingdom hearts, but I cut it out (along with a lot of other things) because I kept dragging on. In my video I did on the Fated Child, my pinned comment says that if Strelitzia didn't die the entire story of KH wouldn't have happened. Her death was arguably the single most important one of the entire series. But because this is KH and people tend to get revived, I see no reason she wouldn't be revived now, and everything about this lines up with it being her. I was slightly uncertain at first, but the more I look into the other ideas and what people are theorising, the more confident I become in this one

    FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
    It’s becoming so confusing again... I was settled with thinking that the final two games to set up KH4 would be one about setting up Yozora leading to his dream battle with Sora, with Riku appearing in the end and Riku being the one that informs Yozora of Sora needing help. And the second game being sort of like a BBS scenario or 3D where either we switch back and forth between Riku along with Yozora actually making their journey through Quadratum to save Sora and Kairi and Aqua training and traveling around the regular reality. That way we’d get to see both sides (especially something about Ven and Darkness; Mickey’s travels to Scala; etc).
    As with only five pods left in the digital world, it only matters when this True Dandelion scene takes place. I’m hoping that when the final update comes out, it’ll show Elrena having a similar talk with Strelitzia as Lauriam did, heeding her to go help the Union leaders and by the time she gets there, Ventus is the only one gone, leaving the four other Union Leaders along with the Player and Elrena to get to the digital pods. From there I really hope Ephemer and Player sacrifice themselves to ensure the others escape into the real world. When Skuld, Lauriam, Elrena and Brain arrive Luxu is there to guide the story so that they don’t have time to pay the true Dandelion any attention, they each get in their own pod, with Brain being last so that Luxu can pass down the No Name to Brain. And then he activates those five pods he mentioned in the secret reports that he had watched with his own eyes so that way there would be five just like he mentioned: Ventus (being cloaked), Brain, Lauriam, Skuld, and Elrena. And then he himself uses the sixth pod.
    I’m also kind of hoping that they use Player as a connection to Yozora (as we all have different avatars), so it could make sense as to why Yozora says he’s not in his actual body, Nomura had to give Player an actual body to be used in the games due to everyone looking so different. I really hope they don’t go the route of Player and Xehanort pretty much being the same person (despite it looking that way, since both Player and Xehanort share the same in-game name)... like I was originally named Alixe on UX and then when DR came out and I set my name as Xehanort, UX’s player’s name was changed to Xehanort as well...

    I really want it to be Streletzia as well. That said it is less likely then several of the other possibilities if only for the fact that she is died. They used the same visual cues that they used for everyone that died in the war and even Eraqus and Xehanort finally passing on in KH3. I am not saying that Streletzia can't come back after all KH is starting to play with the theme of death. Just that it seems more likely that it's someone else. But I really want it to be her and agree that theme was it makes a lot of sense for it to be her.
    So who do I think it is likely to be, well I can start by stating people it is also unlikely to be. It can't be anyone that is in the data worlds at this point in time so Ventus, Lauriam, Elrena, Skuld, Brain, Ephemer, and Player are all out of the question. It is both impossible timeline was if I am reading the timeline right, and it seems like it would be very hard to get them out of the data world without using one of the ark pods from the data world. It could be Ava, however it seems fairly clear that the foretellers had some other way to get out of the war. However if they didn't have a way and in fact died and where brought back from death by Luxu. Then Ava who most likely did live on pass the war thus not needed to be summoned by Luxu does need some way to get to the present day story. That said I don't think that the white coat is Ava if only because I can think of two or four ways for her to get into the present day story that don't involve the ark at all.
    It being an unborn heart trapped inside a coat is a fun idea. Having no memories or objects yet being sent into the future to wait to be born until a more reasonable time is a very cool idea. There are just way to many problems with the idea. Where would Luxu get unborn heart being the main one, as well as how would he know that this unborn heart would be special in any way. So even though I find the idea fun I will admit that the idea is very unlikely even more so then it being Streletzia.
    Luxord as far as I can tell doesn't have the memory problems of a time traveling Dandelion. So even though I do think he is likely someone that we know from the past I don't think he uses a ark pod. It seems far more likely that he is Player who doesn't use a ark pod but instead does a self sacrifice to save all the other Dandelions who will not be able to use an ark pod because there isn't enough for all of them. Plus as the main character it makes sense that Player does something big at the end. Anyway I think that doing this will be a taboo much like what Sora did at the end of KH3 that he will end up body and heart in the final world trapped until Yozora shows him the way into Reality 2. This would also give us a character we can use as hints of what could happen to Sora the next time we see him.
    Really the most likely person is Demyx. According to the character files he has the memory problems that all time traveling Dandelions have. We haven't seen him and have no clue about his past. So even though it is likely he uses a pod the fact that we haven't seen him raises a lot of flags. He is a very strong character, who Hades Underworld treats as a Hero, his biggest desire is to have friends, and is overall pacifist. So even if he doesn't fit the game as well as Streletzia does he does fit being a time traveler, and being a dandelion with the exception that he isn't one as far as we know.
    So yeah I want it to be Strelitzia but it makes the most sense to me if it is Demyx.

    Idk, I don't think it's Strelitzia. I felt like the true dandelion potato sack must be connected to Sora, Yozora or MoM towards KH4. Don't know, not sure lol.

    It’s Ava. At least you guessed it. But you’re going off of feelings than logic here.
    You need to establish a motive for Luxu, and you need to remember how the machine functions and what can go wrong if just anyone takes it. You also haven’t noticed that other people in this series also have worn the white robe. Ventus, Roxas’s Replica body. We just have not noticed what it is.
    And most of all, Luxu has not read the book of prophcies, nor has he ever met Strelitzia.
    Does Strelitzia deserve it, sure. But the truth is found if you go back to Kairi’s grandma’s story. Strelitzia being dead and appearing in a dream is more indicative of her being in the Final World.
    I can tell you precisely how the end of UX will play out.

      Nobody else has worn a white robe as an outfit. When everyone saw that scene last year they freaked out. And these other characters had been put in those white robes for a reason and we know why they were in it. We still don't know why Strelitzia was wearing that, cos from what we've seen she didn't dress herself like that, so why was she wearing it? I want it to be Ava and Strelitzia to be dead, but you gotta wonder why that scene with the white coat is there. It wasn't an accident. There has to be an explanation. And if ur saying you know the ending and that its Ava, then how did she end up being in that robe? We saw her walk away during the war. You saying she just randomly died? Would a character that important just end up in that kinda state off screen like that? Idk man. I'd like Ava too man but the more I think about the alternatives the less they make sense

      @@squarepear9780 Yeah I agree. I don't think Strelitzia is the "emotional" choice. I actually think she's by far the most logical based on all the evidence. Ava is a runner up at best. But yeah how could she have ended up like that just off-screen?! I'm not saying it's impossible.. But.. Why though? It won't affect us as much if we see do not see how it happens. But maybe that'll be saved for the final update

      @@squarepear9780 It’s called juicy bait. You can assume from Ventus that the White Robe shrouds Light. It shrouds Light because Darkness is drawn to Light like a fly on a pile of shit. Yes, Ventus was in one. MX put it on him so he could die a peaceful death- so that Vanitas wouldn’t come put him out of his misery. We did not realize in BBS at the time what it was. Luxu is using it to hide the person from Darkness. Why? Because Ava is both Darkness and the person under the robe. Ava was the traitor, but not by being evil, but by being such a pure light, she would attract the Darkness. Look at how Ventus is clashing with his Darkness. Then realize if Ventus is fighting this Darkness that he sourced, then the Darkness with Luxu was sourced by none other than the person in the white robe. As Luxu, MoM, and White Robe should theoretically be the only people left around the real Daybreak Town.
      The White Robe is also serving another purpose here. Shrouding the identity of the person to Luxu himself. He himself will be the one to pull their body from the timeline. But in order for that to make sense, he has to temporarily not remember that person, so he himself also cannot look at that person until it’s time to remember them. We know that Luxu has the power to transfer his heart to another body even without a keyblade. Simply removing a link from his own chain of memories should be nothing to him. This why Xigbar needed people to look for the box. He took out his memory of it temporarily. After being defeated, something altered that allowed him to remember its location.
      It’s Ava because someone has to remember her in the future in order for it to work. The last we saw of Ava was her fighting Luxu. But then she’s suddenly fighting in the Keyblade War? I don’t think so. Darkness posed as Ava during the War. Even the player remarks that, “Shouldn’t Ava be leading people away from the war?”
      To our knowledge, it is not possible for someone to remember Strelitzia. The only Waypoint for Ava, is Luxu himself. And Ava her self is a Waypoint for literally any and every Dandelion. That’s really the only point of someone from this time going to the future, so that others from the past can hitch a ride to them. That’s why Lauriam will get screwed, because he met Maleficent. This is also why Ventus will go straight to No Name’s location. He never met Ava, because he’s the imposter, but he *is* known by the book of prophcies. That is why the MoM said you can look but you can’t touch. Luxu is not allowed to have a connection with the Union Leaders. Luxu being the only one who did not read the book, can do literally anything he wants and he will be successful in his role- by virtue of not reading it, he is free to let his heart be his guiding key. All so long as he doesn’t contact the Union Leaders until all lifeboats are gone. If he does, time travel will not work, because he would remember them immediately.
      When Luxu pulls Ava (which Ava means grandmother by the way) from the timeline, it will be to establish Radiant Garden, or should I say, the Garden of Eden. Luxu and Ava are going to be Adam and Eve, and will birth the children who rebuild the world. In this world, people will remain ignorant to the secret of the keyblade- so they have no reason to fight over the light. Meanwhile, Scala ad Caelum was the true destination for the future of the Keyblade. This may come as a surprise to you, but Ansem the Wise was not the first King of Radiant Garden, Luxu was.
      And how can I be so sure of all of this? Well Kairi’s grandmothers story covers the origin story of Radiant Garden. “It’s the world we live in now.” Additionally, we know the Master of Masters is MoM. Well now that we have two sentient Darkness on the loose, we also have a DaD.
      There is the slim possibility that Streletzia and Ava are the same person. After all, when have we ever seen Ava’s real face? That would satisfy this both ways. But that is too convenient, and to be honest, sometimes the dead should stay dead. If she’s that important, Lauriam, recompleted can give her a redemption arc in the future.

      @@wtfnymph379 the video gave a very emotional suggestion for Strelitizia. Not a shred of evidence was presented other than the White Robe, which as I said above, is juicy bait. “It’s Strelitizia because she’s most deserving of redemption because she’s just such a nice sweet girl.” That’s emotional. Logical explanation would use the massive trail of evidence that we have to connect the dots.

      @@squarepear9780 Explain then why MX carries Ven, and Demyx carries the replica the same exact way Luxu is carrying this person?
      I can not imagine why Strelitzia was in a white coat in that scene, and because her face was shrouded we can’t even be sure that actually was Strelitzia. The hair only gives us that impression, but even that could be juicy bait. I would venture to guess here that she has become something like an Angel, and her light is so great that it must be shrouded. As I said, if she is dead, and appears in a dream, she is in the Final World. It is possible Ventus will have to meet her there at some point and apologize for what he did. Recall that Ventus’s Chirithy was who Sora met in the Final World. Chirithy got left behind at some point.
      I told you. There are two Ava’s. One is our goodie-two shoes, and the other is Darkness. The player remarks that Ava should be leading the dandelions away, not fighting in the war. So why was she fighting in the war? Because it was Darkness pretending to be her on the battlefront. We know that Darkness can take her form. This is revealed when Ventus walked out of the room after killing Strelitzia. The last we saw of the good Ava was her fighing Luxu. Do you think she actually just up and walked away from that fight to go to the battlefield. I don’t think so.
      I don’t care if it’s Ava or not. I don’t *want* it to be anyone in particular. The data points all signs toward this being Ava.

    Hmmmm I think she should remain dead. I love her character, don't get me wrong! But I feel her death should remain permanent. Like Eraqus, Xehanort and the keykids that died in the keyblade war. I like that sence of permanent consequences and death in a series. While its a sad thing, it at least gives us a more bitter sweet taste. Nothing comes free. Nothing is meant to be 100% perfect. I like it when not everything is happy. Like the pacifist ending in undertale (Spoilers: Asriel turns back into Flowey so he doesn't reunite with his parents). At least, that's why I believed she shouldn't be the true Dandelion.

      @@roopereimi1718 year. It just needs a little flare, some extra spice, a kick in the taste buds to properly get the story going. We've had very few scenes in the stories of kingdom hearts that discuss or show death and put it in a proper serious light and consequences aren't properly shown either. Seeing that visual version of ansem reports would be great. And seeing deeper themes in kingdom hearts would also be great too.
