This is a SUPER LATE upload. You wouldn't believe the nonsense I went through with this video. I had to basically redo it a few times due to file corruption and other such nonsense I won't bore you with. Anyway, mothers day was months ago here in the UK, but this one is for all you Americans out there since the tweet discussed was clearly for the US date. Well... Timeline-wise, in birth by sleep, when Terra passes the power to Riku, Riku mensions that Sora has a dad that brings them to the island...but in the future (KH1) we can only hear his mom's voice. So... It's kinda questionable.

So anyway about sora family sora have a mom in kh1, sora does have a dad in khbbs when terra ask kid riku a question that what were there doing and riku say my “friends dad took us about the boat this here we like to play”, does sora have an uncle well why I just bring that up in the kingdom hearts 3 manga sora and his team visits to herd worlds and meet with hades that sora reminds of him of his uncle and hades angry at sora compare to as a uncle, fun fact hades is a uncle to Hercules hades is the brother to Zeus, so yeah sora does have a uncle in the kh3 manga, and man sora have a lot of family and sora doesn’t even care about them, sora have a mom,dad,and uncle man will we see sora coming back home 🏠 to kh4 who knows if we’ll go and play explore of destiny island 🏝 and see an cutscene of sora mom.
Fun fact: did you know sora mom voice actor is kath soucie that she voice dexter mom,Larry bunny from space jam, sally from nightbefore Christmas and shock too etc.

I imagine whenever they visit destiny islands again (post kh2 etc) they probably catch up with the mother but this is obviously off screen, we don’t know how chain of memories would have effected it. As the actual town itself where the school Kairi went to etc was never playable we can only assume that most interactions are off screen if she will end up being in the story again .

Sora's journey in universe has been 2 years, and Sora & Riku returned home after 2 and Kairi was back in the islands during 1 and 2. So maybe their parents know some stuff like they travel around alot.

I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more of Sora's mother and also Riku's parents - some more info to better understand how he became such a complex character in the series
I actually think this could be quite an interesting thing to do. I didn't know about that tweet but is a cool reference that shows she's wasn't forgotten. I can't say how much family plays into things now, but I know she was established as existing before the series had all this lore that it has now. I wonder how they'd tie her into the story now if they ever were to bother

That said, if we're taking this seriously, I hope Sora's mom is just a regular woman with no knowledge or hidden past. Sora being a regular kid is kind of the most fun thing about him as a protagonist.

I really want to see Sora's Mom at some point. The fact that she has a speaking line has always made me thing that she was going to appear at some point. I do really like the theory that she is Ava but I would also be alright with her just being a normal woman. That said being a normal person while having a child that you have no way to keep in time out sounds like a nightmare and I would not want to be the mom of any wielder if I wasn't also one.
It is hinted in BBS that Sora also has a dad. Because Riku's firend's father is the one that rows them to the play island. So at lest at the time of BBS Sora most likely had both parents. It isn't much but it is something. Riku also hints that he has parents in KH1 by saying "we may never see Our parents again" which means that both he and Sora have parents. It is unclear if they both have a full set at this point.
I do question if their parents know what is going on. The time between KH2 and DR is less then a week maybe closer to 2 days. It has always seemed likely that Sora didn't go home yet from the play island instead camping out until he was settled enough to go home. After all I can't imagine a parent letting their child go to the play island after they forgot about them for a year, had shadows attack and destroy their home, and when they did remember their kid again he takes weeks to get back home.
I also question what Riku said to the Destiny Island people for the past year. Don't worry Sora's mom, Sora died but we have a plan to get him back. Sorry Mister Mayor but your adopted daughter is in a coma don't worry she has the best doctors I know looking over her, plus she chose to do it. It's far more likely that the main island just doesn't know anything and Sora and Riku haven't been back in over two years and now Kairi is also missing. These caretakers must be so worried this sounds like a nightmare. Plus I am fairly sure that the reason that there are no longer kids form the main island coming to the play island is because of how often kids are disappearing from it.

We need more info of who the parents are. Did any of the keyblade welders live long enough to have kids? Why are nearly all keyblade welders children between the age of 10-21 (I'm 36, I can call being 21 a child still). Why is it that only a few survive to old age? What about kiri's grandfather?
When Kingdom Hearts ends I want a secret ending where Sora cooks her dinner/takes her to Little Chef's Bistro and the entire gang just eats there.
In my headcanon in KH3 before/after Sora goes to the Realm of Darkness he takes his dinner.
As for Maleficent, she does say Riku is like a son to her. That's really not far fetched bc Sora and Riku are really close friends

I like this better. Make her a character who is in the know, but isn't important. Say this, kairi, who is her mother? It isn't said. What if, her grandma grew up on destiny islands, had a child, that child being kairi's mom, growing up to be Sora's mom's friend. Kairi's mom would have to be something kinda important, and when they leave for hallow bastion, kairi's mom has a heartfelt goodbye with Sora's mom, telling her all the truths, Sora's mom doesn't believe it, gets upset, kairi's mom leaves for the other world, where she has kairi. Kairi's grandma is stuck raising kairi due to the dangers of kairi's mom's duty, where she passes away, kairi was attacked, aqua saved her, and that's when kairi's grandma decides her mission with her daughter failed, time to return to safety for kairi, that's when Sora's mom recognizes her best friends mother return home, without her friend, just to realize her friend was gone, and everything she told her, the truth. This backstory would help explain why sora and kairi were basically so close and destined as friends. Since the story seems to play a lot in prophecy, kairi's grandma could have followed one, and just misunderstood it, not realizing it was kairi and sora who were destined to fix the worlds after she was gone. It would tie in everything we already know, explain why kairi was brought to a random world like destiny island, and it would bring Sora's mom back with a headstart on knowledge so she isn't as boring to deal with. If she knows nothing sora will probably not say anything, or he will say too much and she wouldn't get it. It's getting old when they use those same two tropes for settings where people don't know anything. It's better they are in the know.

You know... With Kingdom Hearts seeming starting to focus on the idea of bloodlines. Like Xehanort being related to Ephimer, Brain being related to Eraqus and stuff. Maybe, Sora's mom might show up. Maybe not as a focal character but as a supporting character. They all started their adventure as kids. They've gone thru a LOT. I'm sure a mother character could provide something for hero. A lesson, a value, etc. Maybe she could be the reason Sora learns to put more value in himself. How many times has he sacrificed himself for others?
I've been hoping someone would finally come back to this video and say this. Yep, I already saw the shift to a focus on family last year, and now we've got it confirmed bloodlines will be important.
It's already basically confirmed in Dark Road there is a "chosen one" or "child of destiny" and it's strongly suggesting that's Sora. This contradicts the idea he's a regular boy, and actually in fact already had a destiny (I was going to make a video sorta on this same idea before Dark Road revealed it)
I think now it's more possible than ever we'll see her appear, however big or small her role may be

He was never meant to have the keyblade but did thanks to merely being a kind soul that took in Ventus's wounded heart. I think Sora know he's nothing special but he never needed to be to do amazing things. Like everyone praises him for, he just needed to follow his heart.
There is a chance that maybe Kairi and even Riku could come prestigious bloodlines or legacies which could put some self doubt in him. I could easily see an ordinary mom just encouraging him to keep doing what he's been doing as really the only thing he needs.

My theory is basic but luxu goes against the book so any actions he took would have not been recorded for instance stretlerzia and the true dandelion i think Sora's mom it's stretlerzia with no memory and that's why sora is not in the book of prophecy it was the seed luxu planted for the future. Scala and and hollow bastion destiny island are the same place but broken apart over time.
