Just a fun idea to consider. I'd love to see some references to Square Enix itself in Unreality. They don't need to be canon, which allows for them to do more fun things with it anyway. I just can't imagine they'll completely let this opportunity pass them by.
If there's one Square series that would have a canon reference to the actual company and make it somehow part of the actual lore, it's Kingdom Hearts lol
You know its funny because them going to Tokyo is what led to a whole new series. I wonder if Sora going to Tokyo is about to lead to a whole new series too..
@@Atlas92936 Thanks. However what if we added a reference to Xenogears? I mean Xenogears is technically a Square property so maybe? Then again I don’t think it’ll happen but it would be nice. I mean Nomura actually contributed to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as a guest artist so it would be a nice little wink and nod towards a cult classic.
I think Mom is self aware, and Xigbar to a certain degree. In Dream Drop Distance, when Sora mets Xigbar, he becomes the Exposition Fairy. He lines up the "Plot Points" and then suggests to Sora, Wink (Us) that we would never believe it, and that is why we never saw it coming. Mom basically wrote Himself into a Book, and sees the Plot before it happen. Also, Bravely Default, if you have played that.
I don't really know how set I am on the idea of Quadratum / the fictional realm being a place for Square Enix properties. We've seen the Final Fantasy cast set their home in Radiant Garden and the TWEWY cast returning to Shibuya as if it was still an existent world, and for the latter that Shibuya is explicitly stated to be different from the one in the secret ending. What I take from this is that Square properties can and do exist in the Kingdom Hearts side of reality; we just don't explore them in game for obvious development reasons. The theory I've been mentally working towards is that Quadratum / the fictional realm is instead for worlds that were never meant to exist in the first place, like the world of Final Fantasy Versus 13 which will never see the light of day in its original glory. It's not like worlds that are destroyed, since they _do_ exist, just not at the concurrent moment. If we ever meet Noctis and Ignis and Gladio and all them, it's easier to assume that they would be based off their incarnations in Final Fantasy 15, since that is an actual existing, functional world. I think this would also work with the nature of Game Central Station, since its existence was outside of the Book of Prophecies, and it already is hinted to be quite a different animal than the other worlds like it (then again there are the TRON worlds which are explicitly stated to be data creations copied from somewhere... lord knows from where). Is it out of the realm of possibility for Square Enix to retcon why we see their characters in the Kingdom Hearts side of the world? Of course not. However, I'm not sure I want to bank on that _possibility_ instead of something more concrete. Either way though, the fact that they are on the Verum Rex boxart pretty much confirms Square Enix is an entity that exists in the realm of Kingdom Hearts. To what capacity, we can't know, since it's still possible it could be little more than an easter egg, but a Square Enix existing in Kingdom Hearts, exactly as it is in the real world, would make things real confusing really quickly. As it is, I'm already confused about why a world from the other side is named after the Latin word for "square" (or how its characters even recognize this...) or why a Shibuya copy that has the 104 building is explicitly *not* the same Shibuya from The World Ends with You.
I'm with you on most of what you said. I've always been uncertain of there being Square worlds on the other side for that exact same reason. I thought them being in Traverse Town and Hollow Bastion and the fact they can exist there normally and speak means they can't be from the other side right? Because supposedly being on the other side means your "voice can't reach" anyone. Especially since Quadratum is the name of the city, so if anything it would be a city of Square characters, rather than us visiting square worlds, but that seems bizzare because not all of them would fit into the realistic graphics we've seen from when Yozora wakes up in his car.. But idk.. I'm sure the name isn't an accident. I just wonder if it's something quite so obvious. And trust me, I'm still trying to figure out what exactly is going on with Shibuya here. I don't know much about TWEWY, but I do know there's apparently alternative Shibuya's. I think Nomura might be messing with us when he says they're not the same Shibuya. Like technically, they're not, but then it could be an alternative one or something. Idk.. It's certainly confusing lol
I think that KH4 is Nomura trying to let his FFVs13 story out since there is no way he could do it now with FF15 already sealing the deal and the pressure he got from Square to not talk about his version of Noctis / Stella or FFVs13 in general. It's sad to see Nomura has to take a different salty route to make his dream come true. I think they're going to add a little bit of Square as a metaphor, but not too much of that stuff since Disney owns Kingdom Hearts anyway. They probably don't want any kind of beef lol.
He could sidestep Disney if he makes a Verum Rex game. I don't think Disney will have any involvement in that, especially since on the cover of it in KH3 it has no Disney logo but it has Square Enix. That being said, even as a KH game, I doubt Disney would care much about what he does with Tokyo, its more the Disney worlds I think they really want handled a certain way
It's too meta at this point for them to not do it man. It's gotta happen. I think it could be funny if they put Nomura in a black coat and try to trick us into thinking he's the Master when really he's just Nomura and he's got like zero abilities and like 1 HP lool
They could show the Square Enix building in the distance but have it separated by invisible walls Or have it there clear as day but destroy it in the game
could we see square properties? sure could we see square properties *rather than disney ones*? probably not, unless the game this takes place in also has other characters doing through disney worlds elsewhere. the series is a disney IP.
I personally don't think the Disney will be cut out to a massive extent, unless we get a Verum Rex game, but some people do think that. I'm not even certain Quadratum will be a world of Square properties at all (at most maybe a city, I'd think) which is why I wanted to focus on Shibuya, because that has already proven to have references to both Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy. I think if Square stuff will pop up anywhere, it's there

Sora should meet Tetsuya Nomura! It would be like meeting God.
If there's one Square series that would have a canon reference to the actual company and make it somehow part of the actual lore, it's Kingdom Hearts lol
Omg I just noticed the text at 3:43 😂 Those weaknesses
Tetsuya Nomura will be the final boss of Verum Rex
"Is this the land of the gods???" Let's hope Sora's time in Tokyo is a lot nicer than Caim and Angelus' 😅
You know its funny because them going to Tokyo is what led to a whole new series. I wonder if Sora going to Tokyo is about to lead to a whole new series too..
@@NextGenNovelist Very true. Everyone keeps saying they want a Verum Rex game, so why not!
It would be like how GameFreak used to have the developers in the Pokemon games as characters, so it could be possible.
Came to comment this same thing and I see your comment. Respect mate!

Verum Rex to Kingdom Hearts could be like what Nier was to Drakengard
Yep I made a video about that called "Will Verum Rex get the NieR treatment". I think it's possible.

Maybe there would be no lucky emblems next time, instead we will be finding square emblems @v@

That would definitely be a very cool idea - kind of like the Matrix and meeting the architect.
"I am the architect. I created the Matrix."
Such great movies.
@@NextGenNovelist Indeed. Specially the first 2 movies.

Lmao that'd be hilarious. Everyone thinks he's god of the whole thing but then he just gets taken out like some grunt
If you look on a map, and you compare the view of the MoM at the end of the secret ending, he is exactly on the palace of Square-enix HQ
I want it to happen. I wanna fight Nomura
With all honesty I would want more worlds that is based on square Enix games I think that would be great

They own it. No square no kingdom hearts
However I would like to see Donald And Goofy going to square enix worlds
Square is the people that made the game
I think no because kingdom hearts own by Disney and there's alot of rules and stuff
