I am turning 60 next year. I have been tossing ideas around to mark the year. When I turned 50, I made a quilt with 50 applique hearts started on my 49th birthday to finish the quilt by the 50th birthday. I am not sure yet what I want to do for my 60th. Your sampler September was a success! You finished the project in the month. Great job. It is beautiful!! By the way, mums always come first. Mine is coming for a 3 week visit in October together with my brother. We are excited to see them. Happy stitching 🧵

Ahem - I have been know to sit outside in the sun with a coffee and cake and chat to my chickens 🐔😜 They cheep away at me and agree with everything I say! Perfect friends!! Kate did do well though didn't she - I'm so lucky!

Got to admit it wouldn't suit me but how about setting 4 starts a month with 2 extra on your birthday and making the 4 contain one big, one small, one bird and one house or something along those lines. Or have a theme each month, so birds, snow, flowers, people, steampunk birds or whatever. Gosh.... I feel exhausted just thinking about it! Good luck finishing your existing wips, Kim ❤

I think a mix of black frames will look good too, and means you can always add more even if the shop sells out of the original choice of frame. Your Sept's Revenge is gorgeous, Sally! I know it's going to be in by cart very soon. Have you seen the Honey Thief pattern? I've already given in and purchased that one. As you may know, I had a VERY major milestone b'day in '22. A little more milestone-ish than yours. LOL! While I didn't start 70 pieces in my 70th year, I did change my whole mindset about starting as many as I wanted. The number of WIPS I have is immaterial to me at this point in my life. I know there is no way (short of finding the Ft. of Youth) that I'll ever finish all of the beauties I've collected, but I can certainly start as many as I want and stitch on them whenever I fancy. So I think your plan is just BRILLIANT!! Steph x
