  • Small birds don't mix up with the bigger ones. A birdstrike on takeoff is very critical, and a nightmare of every pilot. It is the worst possible time for the engines to get in trouble, as you might only have seconds to cancel the takeoff.
In a case of birdstrike, this Airbus A340-300 from SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) is one of the lucky few remaining planes at Copenhagen Airport to rely on four engines. Having only two engines is a lot more vulnerable, as seen with the incidents of 'US Airways Flight 1549' landing on the Hudson River, and the more recent 'Ural Airlines Flight 178' crashing after takeoff in Moscow.

It's is/now a dead bird, didn't seem to cause any problems.
Btw, what camera are you using for the 4k footage...looks great with loads of contrast!

Very lucky engine survived, no pilot could not break a sweat losing an engine just after rotation in the notoriously underpowered a340-300. Climb rate could only be no more than a few hundred feet/minute on a MTOW 3engined 300. It only typically does 1000’ minute with all 4 going.
