You are probably the only UA-camr who has made an exclusive A340 compilation. My top favourite aircraft, this. The sound, so typically A340, that masculine roar.
Always 4-engined large aircraft, 2-engined large aircraft look half finished, but then again when I was in the RCAF I worked as an Aero Engine Tech on the CC-137 Boeing 707s, they were quite the beast and we beat the snot out of them too.
I watched the RCAF 707s flying in and out of CFN Lahr from my hometown Offenburg in the 1970ies. Was living right under the approach/departure path and particularly loved seeing them rocketing skywards with an awesome sound. (high speed approved,mI assume).
That Air Mauritius A340!!! Maaaaan! Love incarnated when it makes that right bank so gracefully while still fuming and climbing. So glad to have been able to fly this very same A40 featured in the video (3B-NBD).
To see a modern updated A340-600 NEO with A350 athetics & generous structural mods would be sublime, why airbus didn't keep updating this incredible quad was quite silly decision in the long run, but I suppose mathematics, $$ & Demand play an overwhelming role in the industry!!
The Iberia A340 at 8:13 looks magnificent, very beautiful shot. And the Lufthansa one at 15:48, once it lands and you zoom out from it, you can sense the magnificent size of the plane.
I've been away for about a year now, exploring the plethora of aviation dedicated UA-cam channels, and there's a LOT of really great ones out there for sure, but in the end, I'll always come back around to the channel I got started on, because it's STILL the best one out there 😌.... What's up PilotSander?! Still watching, and still loving it! Cheers!
Excellente tribute to the 340’s... this virus has speed up so many aircrafts to be phased out, even recent aircrafts that’s so crazy.. Like the SAA with the 🏙 skyline in background 👍✅
Will never forget my first ultralong haul involved an A330 and then an A340-500. Was so impressed with both :) (with my previous benchmarks being extremely loud 777, 747 and clapped out DC10s)
Great vid. Once I 've made a flight from Dubai to Munich, I think in may 2010 by Lufthansa. It was one of my most comfortable flights. My compliments for this vid.
The may be sluggish to ge off the ground but they all have some of the longest ranges of any plane...especially the 500 and 600 are in the top 5 longest ranges. Not incl special variants like 777 200lr 777 300er or 350 900 ulr.
I dont know but i think that Airbus got lost when they chose the engines to 340 version 200. When I see a 340-200 I have an impression that it has difficult to takeoff because of engines size. And my suspicions increase when I see other more current versions like 600 for instance.
Do u notice that at 7:02 air Belgium A340 300 has a different cockpit glass from all the other a340s? I wonder if that was a special redesign or installed a new windshield after a failure of the previous one?.. it looks cool like the a350 glass similar...
I always travelled from Caracas to Frankfurt by Lufthansa, mainly because they used the A 340-600. The best plane in the world. Two engine planes don't feel right. So sorry to see it disappear. Economy and money are the enemies of beauty. Plus the 747 and 777 are utterly disgusting

The A340-600 is the most beautiful airplane ever designed.
The dream liner...is a strong contender too
Aka the pencil plane lol

I like the a350 to
Mike Andrews I say Concorde, A380, A350
love how A340-300s look like they're struggling to takeoff everytime.
That is because they are underpowered
For more efficency
That's because they're not taking off rather the earth is rotating from out of underneath them...

The A340 is by far my favorite to watch

I know it's silly, but I'd really rather have 3 or 4 engines when I'm flying for hours over water.
That's why I love A340's!✈
First, the 707 and 727 were my favorite planes. Then she came, beautiful
A340. Perfect proportions!

Indeed haha, thank you so much! :D
Surinam A340 . I still remember the DC8-63 They used to have fly into Schiphol many years back . But on a dutch registration.
340's are the most elegant and beautiful planes ever built.
Very sad to hear they will disappear very soon due to their costs...!!!
they wont extinguish soon ,the ones that are left dont have replacement yet, so we should see them atleast until 2026

Those CFM’s sound same as my A320 with IAE engines. However now PW NEO engine’s sound is totally different.
I love that take off sound off the a340-313

Can we just appreciate how long that A340-600 looks?

2-300 needs 5 APU's on full power & a very long runway! 5-600, hold my beer!

I absolutely LOVE the A340, especially the -600 variant.
A340-500 is my favorite plane!
"They takeoff only because the earth is round"... pilots used to joke on early production models...
Power on the 340-200/300 ? Not so much. Good looking planes though, I must say

Look carefully. Its black paint for the last windows to resemble a A350. Most likely to give it a modern look.😎
Do ALL a340's have the economy class restrooms downstairs, or is that exclusive to the a340-600's Lufthansa uses?
More Airlines than Lufthansa have that, but not all.
Only Lufthansa.
Binnekort 772 van SLM!!
the small engines look so wierd. To small for that airplane. Only the bigger ones looks okay.
It sounds like an a319
Since they are retiring these from passengers they should use these as freight aircraft
There is only one passenger a340 200 still in use and it just flew 450 meters above my home
Did anyone see at 3:00 Kuwait 340 hit a pothole?
We pay or the whole runway we use the whole runway
The A340-300 engine is very small compared to the A340-500/600
What a shame no one is interested in keeping them flying, Airbus could do a NEO version with smaller and more fuel efficient engines.
powered by 5 APUs 😛

Já assisti a maioria desses vídeos separadamente, não ficou legal foi uma montagem de outros vídeos dos A-340's.
To associate the -200 and -300 with power is...a bit exaggerated.
We called ours the veals, just so you know.

4 engines! Too expensive to maintain.
Since pilots have always considered the a340 to be underpowered, any new model would need bigger engines, not smaller ones..
