To be fair to them, about half of them each season are pretty decent/good. But they're such a pressure cooker, many of them are out of their element. Fine dining is a different beast from 90% of most restaurants, and Gordon specifically runs his kitchens at the highest, precise level imaginable. Unless they already worked at a ridiculous award winning restaurant then they couldn't be ready for that.

Lol, I started to watch some Masterchef while bored af in quarantine, and he’s soo much nicer in masterchef than he is in this show, but I guess that’s cause these are going to be professional chefs and he needs the best one by far, and in masterchef they are still amateurs.
