Big brands like Samsung could take a note from vivo.Putting a nicer sensor and coated lens could dramatically improve optics rather than relying only on software.Another awesome comparison from you Han.Reviewers tend to ignore base variants.
Results were surprising,I expected Samsung to win but I was wrong. Vivo really impressed me with that new update. You already know how I was complaining about X80 saturation and artificial processing. The difference from those and from New updated performance is like day and night. Colors are looking very natural and skin tone looks well processed with good details and white balance. For human subjects(which I'm focusing the most) Vivo is better(I never thought I'll say this but I'm impressed) in night shots I think it's bit hard to pic the winner for me. Both have advantages based on situation and the lightings. But I felt like Samsung is bit inconsistent(it looks hazy sometimes) in daytime video x80 is far better imo. It managed to maintain colors better,exposure better and I don't have to worry about artificial sky colors this time😁. Shortly,on almost every shots Vivo have the clear advantage of good exposure,better HDR processing,great colors and awesome details. Sefie camera performance is far better in samsung tho,as we can see how Samsung managed front cam vid to perform far better. Now I can recommend X80 for anyone who are looking for overall best device. This update is like a blessing.

While Galaxy S22 dominate selfie department and also perform better in night time, Vivo X80 completely give samsung a run for its money in almost everything else. Improved algorithm and optimized processing via update magically makes X80 manage to edges out S22 in Portrait, Zoom, human subjects, and 4K 60 video where Samsung phone known to be the best on Android. Great video as always......it's really refreshing to watch your honest reviews , for me I'll go with the x80 For much better colours and details on those portraits as well as a far better stability and light control on videos and sharper daylight zoom pictures cause i like taking 50 mm photos .....selfie however is better on sumsung...honestly i guess bbk needs to work on that part it's still a weak point specially selfie video it's pathetic....overall the x80 is a better smartphone .
S22 night photos and selfies are exceptional but vivo x80 did a good job at daytime photos which looks more realistic compared to s22 having random tint and social media ready. S22 4k video performance is quite disappointing at this phone price range they offer better stabilization I hope they fix it via update. Still I will definitely go with the x80 it has a well balanced camera and gaming performance, great review Han 🔥

That was very interesting. The vivo x80 excelled in portraits and in indoor and daytime photos. The s22 only really was better in lowlight and selfies. The x80 also performed better in Video. The colours on the x80 photos look much more natural than on your previous video. Perhaps that was because of enabling the Zeiss mode or perhaps because of the update or maybe even due to a mixture of the two. The x80 has become a good camera phone now. If they improve the nighttime performance with future updates it will be a real winner!
Colors and skin tone was my biggest issue and this update fixed it well. I hope this will roll out in India soon. Indian variant have some major issues
Not yet(we will not get it most probably ),but I hope we'll get it. Indian variant of x80 have some issues on funtouch os(major stutters and lag) they still haven't fixed them

Vivo x80 has done a great job and wins in several departments, I wish that the phone reliability also be as good as Samsung. tbh many prefer X80 but when actually buying 4 their own, they go S22 for their reliability, brand name, promise software n security updates, fluid one ui etc. Vivo X series is becoming better n better yr after yr. In China they have best UI origin OS(Han love origin OS) but when it comes to global market then they are giving many bugs with Funtouch OS. I saw lot of complaints pn global varient of x80

My real problem with the s22 camera is that video performance. They need to fix that hard aside from that. Vivo did a better job in most scenarios! Better background lighting and everything! The undisputed winner of this camera comparison is definitely Vivo. The only problem is that ugly selfie camera. Han try comparing x80 with the pixel 6 please 💖

I maybe called a vivo fanboy but I really think that the x80 won this one. But I may forgive it's low details on dark scenarios coz that's quite understandable, but I don't like the idea that the sky doesn't have variations, as if it was taken in the same time and scenario. Vivo pls fix this!
These results were definitely shocking, with the hype around Samsung phones, it was expected that s22 wins easily, that's DEFINITELY NOT the case at all. In the selfie video, no lies s22 clearly wins everything including microphones (to me). But considering all the major and important segments including the human photos, portraits shots, 1080p/4k videos (whether indoor or daylight) I mean checkout the stabilization, even main sensor daylight/indoor photos (just like your verdict, s22 sometimes is over exposed) the x80 dominates all these segments. It really has improved ALOT after the latest update. I'll disagree with the ultrawide daytime verdict tho, to an extent I feel the s22 did better, also it fair slightly better during night time but OVERALL considering the price the VIVO X80 is the clear winner....no debates. Thanks for this honest content Han, great video as always. Now I'll share this with my friend (samsung fan boy) and shock him 😅
I also expected samsung to win,but in actual this new update on x80 fixed the colors and skin tone very well. I was always complaining about artificial processing but now I can easily recommend it.

this shows how software optimization is a big thing..i think samsung teams has abandoned s22 optimization so that it won't effect it's bigger siblings...i don't think it's sensor is weak but in software department,its lacking...vivo also has that isp which helps it achieve greater shots .... vivo just needs one or two more meaningful update to camera and fix nights and sky issues and voila, you got the best camera performer in it's price range..although reame gt2-gt2pro also compete with it and win in some scenarios

Agree,he is repeating because he know how it's like to be on the honest line. There are many who is waiting for his fall. We can see some negative comments spreading on his videos saying he is biased. In other words he is bit afraid(when we are honest and being called fake or biased is the most painful thing)
I have vivo X80 Pro and S22 Plus. On human subjects Vivo X80 Pro is better, controlling harsh lightings Vivo is better, color accuracy Vivo is closed. What Samsung does best in all scenarios is details. Samsung can bring everything in focus and properly provide details in the pictures. It makes human subjects a bit greenish and when more light is coming in through the window the green can be pronounced too much on human skin, same as the early outdoor morning sunlight and sunset. Sunset and sunrise with harsh light can dethrone Samsung completely. Anything the sun is shining on at those two times of the day Samsung will turn everything greenish yellow.
Selfie videos I like Samsung more because of dynamic range and colours. Human subjects and portrait Vivo has more eye pleasing colors and more details while samsung is putting a veil in portrait shots. Main camera videos and night shots Vivo smashed Samsung in my opinion, just nigh zoom Samsung is better. I like Vivo for closer true to life colors and I think Vivo X80 deserves the crown in this review. Keep it up Han

Now they fixed those artificial processing. Now outcomes looks natural and much better. HDR also not feels artificial now.

Vivo x80 has done a great job and wins in several departments, I wish that the phone reliability also be as good as Samsung. tbh many prefer X80 but when actually buying 4 their own, they go S22 for their reliability, brand name, promise software n security updates, fluid one ui etc. Vivo X series is becoming better n better yr after yr. Details review, love it❤️👍
Vivo X series phones get a lot of updates every year and one more think if anyone asks me which one to buy from these two phones then I must buy Vivo X80, because of a all rounder package, good camera, good display, good battery, good fast charging, good performance etc bro🥰 it's my personal preference❤️

My real problem with the s22 camera is that video performance. They need to fix that hard aside from that. Vivo did a better job in most scenarios! Better background lighting and everything! These results were definitely shocking, with the hype around Samsung phones, it was expected that s22 wins easily, that's DEFINITELY NOT the case at all.
In the selfie video, no lies s22 clearly wins everything including microphones (to me). But considering all the major and important segments including the human photos, portraits shots, 1080p/4k videos (whether indoor or daylight) I mean checkout the stabilization, even main sensor daylight/indoor photos (just like your verdict, s22 sometimes is over exposed) the x80 dominates all these segments. It really has improved ALOT after the latest update.
I'll disagree with the ultrawide daytime verdict tho, to an extent I feel the s22 did better, also it fair slightly better during night time but OVERALL considering the price the VIVO X80 is the clear winner....no debates.

this shows how software optimization is a big thing..i think samsung teams has abandoned s22 optimization so that it won't effect it's bigger siblings...i don't think it's sensor is weak but in software department,its lacking...vivo also has that isp which helps it achieve greater shots .... vivo just needs one or two more meaningful update to camera and fix nights and sky issues and voila, you got the best camera performer in it's price range..although reame gt2-gt2pro also compete with it and win in some scenarios

I have vivo X80 Pro and S22 Plus. On human subjects Vivo X80 Pro is better, controlling harsh lightings Vivo is better, color accuracy Vivo is closed. What Samsung does best in all scenarios is details. Samsung can bring everything in focus and properly provide details in the pictures. It makes human subjects a bit greenish and when more light is coming in through the window the green can be pronounced too much on human skin, same as the early outdoor morning sunlight and sunset. Sunset and sunrise with harsh light can dethrone Samsung completely. Anything the sun is shining on at those two times of the day Samsung will turn everything greenish yellow.
Selfie videos I like Samsung more because of dynamic range and colours. Human subjects and portrait Vivo has more eye pleasing colors and more details while samsung is putting a veil in portrait shots. Main camera videos and night shots Vivo smashed Samsung in my opinion, just nigh zoom Samsung is better. I like Vivo for closer true to life colors and I think Vivo X80 deserves the crown in this review. Keep it up Han
I'm impressed with their colors,this update made a huge improvement. I was a x80 hater bz of weird color science and processing but now I feel opposite. Really a great job from Vivo
