I personally love my S21 Ultra and honestly don't feel the need to upgrade just yet. I'd probably wait until next year to see what Samsung comes up with.
@@mmersvlog2838 Yes, I'm trying to find reasons to get the S22, but it's not there lol. & I'm pretty within the next few updates we'll get the additional camera features etc.
I love the Note design too much to stay away. Only changed to S21U for the SD888. Gotta go with the S22U instead of the N20U for WQHD+ and 120hz at the same time
Read this as the S23 is due soon, still not bothered with the minor upgrades. I always upgrade every 3 years anyhow it makes a bit more sense than throwing money away.
As a S21 ultra user, I can say the phone is pretty durable. I've dropped it several times, around waist height. Mind it, i've only ever dropped it at home on a smooth floor, never outside on rough concrete or other. But so far, there are only small nicks on the aluminum frame at the corners, but that's it. I use the phone without a case because of my medium-sized hands, but despite the falls, the phone still holds up perfectly. Most noteworthy are the cameras. They're very well protected by the aluminum frame As for the S22 ultra, while i don't have one, i've seen videos of drop tests and images, and it seems like the camera-protecting screens get damaged very easily. Since the s22 ultra doesn't have the metal frame, the camera screens stand out quite a bit and are directly impacted when the phone falls on the back. So durability wise, i'd say the S21 ultra is a better phone compared to the s22. (but can't deny that i'm biased for the s21 ultra cuz it's my phone and i love it. The design is sooo beautiful as well!!)
I have an S20 ultra, and I've dropped it a million times by now lol, and nothing has ever happened to it....I've even accidentally left it on the hood of my car, fell off while I was going 50+ mph managed to stop and retrieve it, picked it up, and literally the only thing that got damaged was the case, and not even much happened to the case either, I'm still surprised to this day🤣
S21 Ultra here. The phone will not fall apart but it only takes just the right (wrong) angle to damage the phone. It has great weight and build quality. The corners are probably the most common damage points. So, mine fell off a shelf that's about chest high onto a tile floor with an Otterbox defender case. And ...
Switched to OPPO(find X2 pro) because I live in an "exynos country", and the difference between snapdragon and exynos was huge. Maybe, if the new exynos performs as well or better, I switch back to Samsung. Although the new find x pro will be a contender for sure.
According to some leaks the exynos is much better at sustained performance over the Snapdragon. Idk about you but I'd choose a more sustainable chip which is maybe 20% weaker in terms of raw power over a power hungry and over heating chip.
Kinda crazy to think my s21 ultra maintains better ram then even the 1t s22, I also prefer the physical design of the s21 so I don't feel a need for upgrade at all, thanks for all the info!
The extra RAM of the S21 Ultra may be good for games, I suppose, but if I remember correctly, SuperSaf claimed that at times the S21 may be a little laggy, something which is absent from the S22. This may seem odd except that the neural processing unit is faster and it would seem to be more a function of that than the RAM. You might also want to consider how the RAM of the S22 is (virtually) expandable. Personally? I don't like using virtual, at least as with my old laptops I was a little worried it might degrade my storage. In essence, I figure that solid state, SD and the internal space is a phone are based on the same technology as flash drives. Now it may be the case that the technology has improved a great deal, but at least relyng on it used to degrade it and it used an algorithm to move data around to avoid corruption. I also expect virtual RAM to perform a great deal of read/write and this would accelerate the degradation. It may be that this is no longer an issue. If anyone knows I would be interested in finding out.
@@jordanissport My S20 Ultra hasn't really been either, except when I have had a few too many applications open. But that is something I try to avoid, at least when I notice it, not because of lag but battery use. Applications seem to drain the battery when they are up even when they aren't really doing anything. Anyway, the big thing for me is the photography, but I am also really looking forward to everything I can do with the S pen including actually snapping the telephotos which I tend to mess up when I instead tap the screen. But that's me, and of course you could use a trigger word instead - at least for snapping the picture.
So if you don't need an S-pen, all you have to do is wait a few months for OS 4.1 update on your S21 Ultra and you'll get most of the S22 features. Just a matter of time.
So wen to upgrade to the s22 ultra and was told they wouldn't have then for months . I went back today and BOOM !!! got my s22 ultra max memory and this phone is phenomenal. The visibility in sunlight is insane the pen and features it comes with are mind blowing. Samsung definitely out did themselves on this device.
S-pen built into the phone for S-pen users is literally the only reason to upgrade. I can't even see a reason to upgrade to the S23 when it comes out unless it has new features that blows my mind.
Recently picked up the S21 Ultra as my upgrade to the Note 10+. Massive upgrade in terms of smoothness, as s21 ultra has the 120hz display, which is a game changer for gaming. Also, the back is a matte finish, meaning far less griminess and next to no finger prints, which was a huge problem for the glass back on the Note 10+.
Just received my S22 Ultra today. Been using it for a few hours and already love it. I upgraded from the S21 Ultra and can say that in terms of performance it is basically the same as the S21 ultra (which is still good because that phone is a beast). The camera quality is really good and it's nice being able to use the cameras full functionality within apps like snapchat. No regrets at all upgrading after only 1 year... love having a Note again 😂
hye ryan dagama. writing this to make ultimate decision on s21ultra or s22 ultra. i saw that s22ultra has two telephoto, unlike s21 ultra. any diff in pics? really need to make up my mind. im using samsung galaxy a71
@@harokahtajdid I would say I can definitely see a difference in the picture quality from the s21 ultra to s22 ultra. The main difference is that low light photos are much better than before. My favorite part about the camera is that it's now fully integrated with apps such as snapchat and Instagram so if you use those apps I would highly recommend going for the s22 ultra. Also the two phones although very similar do have different feels to them. I loved the s21 ultra but am loving the s22 ultra a lot more because I prefer the note series over s series. All in all you can't go wrong with either phone as they are both great but if you like the note series and want a more full rounded camera experience then go with the s22 ultra
Maybe they should be compared after the S22 Ultra has been optimized, and isn't running pre-release software. Then we will have an accurate representation on the differences in performance.
I dont knownif something will change because I already have the s22 ultra and the update hasn't came, the last update according to the phone was on January 1 xD
Going from a Fold 2 to the S22 Ultra, I had Note's pretty much every year before having my Fold 2 and as much as I liked it I'm ready to go back to the Note form, great comparison as always!
The foldable doesn't do it for me for some reason... And the phones are getting almost to big...but I ordered it that blue is gorgeous and I miss the pen but if battery life is going to go down going to have to send it back
I'm doing the exact same - I can't really do it with the Fold 2, taking pictures etc and sharing them with others shows bars/stretched - it's great on the Fold itself but doesn't translate well when shared with others. I'm getting the S22Ultra with trade in, Samsung in-store gives the best deal - value of my fold PLUS £250 for an android phone - apparently my S22 Ultra should be £569, £430 for the Fold 2 + £250 ontop for it being an android phone. You can trade any android phone (I'm trading an HTC One for the Mrs and they're giving £250 just cause it's Android)
@@itsahmed450 bro I'm with you. The s pen experience is underrated. I loved the note like for so long. N10 plus especially this s22 ultra brings back that nostalgic feel
I believe it's harder to upgrade to the S22 Ultra due to the fact that Samsung is still releasing software updates to improve the performance and increase the longevity of the S21 Ultra. As somebody who's owned the S21 Ultra for a short time, as much as I would like to upgrade to the S22 series, my current device is still holding up incredibly well despite it releasing a year ago.
As someone who would upgrade phones every year, I will say in the last 2-3 years the industry has stagnated to the point that upgrading within 3 years is complete lunacy. We just don't see the huge leaps year after year we once did, now it's just marginal improvements, regardless of brand. With the cost of a modern flagship nowadays makes holding onto phones for 3-4 years even easier and aside from a few outliers, most flagships will easily last that long, issue-free. So be happy with your S21 ultra. I know mine has lasted me these last 2 years without a single issue, literally. Something I couldn't say for any of my previous phones. Im sure the S23 will be nice with that 200MP sensor, but as history shows it always takes a year or two of software refinements for them to fully take advantage of a new camera sensor etc.
I'm upgrading to the S22 Ultra from my S9+. Not too fussed about the lack of expandable storage because I haven't used that particular feature since the S7. However, the headphone jack removal is a tad cheap from Samsung as is the lack of a charging brick.
I'm upgrading from my S21 Ultra. I just prefer the Note design and the built in pen. Also, snapchat integration on the S22 seems exciting. Haven't seen reviews on that one yet.
I have the s21 ultra and I'm actually still impressed by it I doubt I'll be changing anytime soon might go for a z fold 3 or something if I need to change 👌
Glad to hear the battery life is similar. I was worried seeing some battery benchmark & drain test. I'll be coming from the Note 10+. Can't wait til the phone arrives.
Alot of other reviewers are saying the battery life is worse then the S21 Ultra which i hope is not true because i really want the S22 ultra for the new vision booster for outdoor use
It's kinda frustrating when reviews like this don't even bring up Dex as a feature. It's the most underrated feature and has become one of my favorite features of my S21U
@@freewill9971 DeX is what Samsung calls their desktop experience with their Galaxy S phones. It basically turns your phone into a full blown PC running Android as an OS. That means you can connects keyboards, mice, monitors, ethernet cables, etc. Works flawlessly and is completely standalone from your phone. You can run stuff on a monitor for example and then still use your phome to do something completely different. The only thing you can't do is have the same app running in two parallel instances. Still though, increadibly useful and a brilliant use of the amount of power flagships phones have. At least our S21 Ultra's have the Snapdragon 888 and 16gb. This makes the experience super smooth. Hope that helps!
I have the s20 ultra and its got dex too. I think they all got dex. I not bothered about the X pen so I can't see the point spending over £1000 on S23 for better night photography just us the flash light ha ha ha
Great video on the comparison especially all the details and photo shots. I will choose the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra over the S21, but I can see a lot of the viewers sticking with their ultra S21 given the cost of upgrading. My current phone is a S10 and I was waiting for the pen to come back .
In the same ship as you I have the s10 but having a bit of trouble with battery life and the outdated camera that isn't cutting it. I have had this phone for 3 years but i think it is worthy to upgrade to the s22 ultra
Thanks for the indepth review. I've got the s21 ultra 128gb and i don't worry about storage space, if i ever need more i think cloud storage is very good and imo its cheaper and better.
Just got my s22 ultra (its really a note) yesterday. I had a s21 ultra but traded it because I missed my note 20. Its crazy because I began to like my s21 ultra better than the note 20. I think its because I had curved screens for so long, it felt good to see and feel a flat one. The s21 ultra is honestly the perfect phone. It does the same as the 22 ultra without the pen and the camera on the s21 ultra MIGHT be better but once a note fan, always a note fan. You dont need the s pen until you really need it. I didnt trade for the 22 plus becasue I just came from the 21 ultra. Damn near the same phone. I needed my note back.
I have the s21 ultra 512 16gb ram. Never had any lag whatsoever. I thought about upgrading, but it is no use when there are minor upgrades and a little bit of a downside paying more for less ram. The camera does seem to get better and better though
I've had the S21 Ultra 256 for almost 2 years now. Has been the best phone I've ever had and I'm used to upgrading every year. In these nearly 2 years not a single hitch, crash, freeze, single connectivity issue, nothing. It's been scary solid. I thought about getting the S22 when It launched until I saw it's basically the same phone and since the S21 was so good, I skipped it. I've been waiting for the S23, but the bug got me and I recently ordered the new iPhone 14 Pro Max as I wanted to try apple again since my 5S years ago. I'll still be keeping my eye on what the S23 Ultra can do with that new sensor and SD8 Gen 2 chip.
It true s22 ultra is a downgrade for me display resolution went down and pixels better on s21 ultra and I like camera on s21 ultra better. Only thing changed is a built in pen slot
@@kylewright8339 don't u dare spread rumors without conformation the battery is 8hrs SOT the camera's in daylight is subjective but in night it is objective that the s22 wins here and the battery and performance will get better every month if u want proof go watch android addicts or golden reviewer
This is what I've been looking and waiting for. Because, I'm using S21 Ultra right now, I was just thinking, is it worth to upgrade my phone. Thank you for this, Supersaf. More power. Very informative tech review and vlog.
NO!! it's not worth it. Not because the s22 ultra isnt a good phone. The reason is your s21 just came out last year. Dude, your phone is still a beast AND you got the ULTRA VERSION. It's no reason for you to even consider upgrading. Wait till like the s25 or s25 comes out. Then it would be worth it. To put in perspective, the Note8 has been relevant since it came out and I'm just upgrading to the s22 ultra but I still had a hard time deciding between the s22 and 21. The only reason I chose the s22 ultra is because its the latest. But the fact it was a hard choice should say something. That's just my opinion.
@@SShaBazzz If u like the design, the s22 is better everywhere, how is this a hard choise lol But you are right, upgrading every year is not even close to worth. 2-3 years min I would say
I was honestly leaning towards the S21U, mainly because I prefer the design of that device, but in terms of the price of both devices it really doesn't make much sense, think I'll just go with S22, the S pen should come in handy for riding, not having to take off my gloves every time.
Thanks for the comparison, I have an S21 ultra that I use for vlogging. I was considering upgrading, but after seeing this I'm not going to as the new features won't make a difference with what I use it for :)
I think the S21 Ultra Camera Module Protects the lenses. I just watched PBKreviews "Drop Test" And OMG! The rear camera lenses were destroyed on the 1st 3' Drop! Glad I bought 4 different cases & now I need a good Tempered Glass Screen Protector & lense protection
I won't upgrade... i still rocking my s21 ultra phantom black . In my opinion the s21 ultra - Better battery 🔋 even both are 5000 - The slick and lack of pen proves to hold my battery more. - The display is one of the best with the 120hz makes me really happy. - Storage ,i am using 10% from the entire space capacity. - Ram memory 16Gb for this days is better than some other phones 📱 out there. And my list could go on... for me S21 Ultra is 9/10 for some small issues that i think in the future Samsung will patch it up.
S21 ultra has a better & sharper display imo due to the higher ppi, hate how you totally missed talking about that but mentioned the higher 250 nits in brightness? Especially more than resolution?
I have a S22 Ultra sitting on my desk at home since tuesday. I havent even used it yet. Upgrading from my S10 5g which Im still using 3 years after getting it. Awesome phone.
I wasn't going to upgrade from my S21U but I've always been fond of the more sharp corners of the Note series and this includes the display too as I really don't like the curve because it cuts off some content at times. I'm also upgrading for the camera improvements as this is important to me. I wanted more storage too as I had no choice but to get 128GB of storage last year. Now I'm gonna get 512GB with the S22U and it will last me for a couple of years now. I like having the s-pen built-in as well as I thought having it on the outside within a case on the S21U to be bulky at best. I heard the GPU improved a lot too vs the CPU. I do game from time to time so it's nice to have the best out there on Android. With all the deals going on plus the fact that I saved on my Tab S8U it was a no brainer at that point. It was pretty much a free upgrade on the phone side for me and I get a free keyboard case for the Tab S8U.
@@Mickieshelton you could just use the same micro SD card in the Tab S8U. I too have the Tab S7+ but I'm not trading that in tho as I have other plans for it.
Thanks for this video... You really helped me make the decision to not upgrade from my s21 ultra. Might as well wait for the folds to get even better ☺️
seeing this Phone pisses me off Samsung could have made the 2021 flagship a note replacement with that boxy design, but they tricked us into thinking the note is dead and thats the lasrt opition we have if we want the spen. It's frustrating to see that in 2021 they copied apple pencil and made the spen a seperate accesory
@@Shan_Shah Well, I really wanted the S phone (which is not boxy) and not the note one. The spen is really just a good to have for me. I would just use the S-pen from my tab on this if I needed it. I'm glad i wasn't forced to buy the note last year like i would have been this year. To each his own i guess.
@Swastika Sardar like I have said in his s22 ultra review video, hopefully they will lauch s23 s23+ s23 ultra and s23 note lower the price of these models buy a 100 because it just doesn't make sense having an fe model anymore I say lower the price buy a 100. The s23 starts 699 s23+ 799 s23 ultra 999 the true s21 ultra sucessor and the s23 note for 1099 to compete with iPhone pricing while making the 1TBmodel 1399 with 16GB ram next year and eliminate the fe line because it doesn't make sense releasing the fe model later in the year because you can get over 100 discount on the standard model.
@@Thelords88 haha, you make a good point ☺️ I just got so used to having the best, that i was starting to get a bit insecure with a new one in the market 😅
I personally love the design of my S22 Ultra. My last phone was the Note 10+ and until now I thought it had the best design. But I like the sleek minimalist office look.
I'm swapping from an s10 plus to the s22 ultra tomorrow as well, I had an s20 ultra but traded it for the note 10 plus cuz I loved my first one so much. I'll miss that gorgeous aura glow though but that's okay.
I'm still using my galaxy s10 and lowkey want to upgrade to the galaxy s22 Ultra, but I don't feel like I need to upgrade anytime soon. Especially because I value having a micro sd card rather than relying on cloud storage.
Same here. I just had all of the new phones in hand at my local store, they really have some great features. Most noticeable to me was the brightness, it seems double as bright as my s10 lol But my s10 is still fine other than battery and extended gamign session on the go... I guess I will wait till prices drop and see then, for now my s10 is still going strong.
Get the s21 ultra 256gb version, it's more practical with the upgraded storage if you're taking pictures casually as it'll take forever to use it all up. I got mine used like new for $875 on Swappa. I had my s10e since October 2018 and it was a MASSIVE improvement, especially the 120hz and absolutely amazing camera. Seriously, there's no going back once you see the camera and screen features!!
Tbh when it come to design it feels like they just took the last note design and upgraded it a bit to make s22 ultra. In comparison the s21 Ultra had its own unique design from the s21 family. This year Ultra is a bit disapointing on that matter for me.
@@sagardahiya6138 Yeah but I mean It feel like they didn't even try to create a new kind of phone by mixing an ultra and a note, they just ditch the ultra and took the note back.
Have not had a Samsung phone in YEARS, but then got the 20 FE edition until the s21 ultra came out... I do not regret it. Love the phone and keeping it for as long as I can.
Great video, SuperSaf! I currently have the Samsung S21 Ultra, and AI ordered the S22 Ultra. I've been a Galaxy Note fan since the Note 2. However, one thing I appreciate about the spen on the S21 Ultra is the spen size. So, I will wait to see if I will keep the new Note, lol. Keep up the excellent work, and be blessed.
Depends what you need the phone for...i had 13 pro max and return it after 5 days because of poor display, but the battery life in the 13 pro max it s wow, last me nearly 2 days, with samsung you won t get that long,i ordered the s22u with 1t of storage, and so far form what a saw on youtube regarding battery life and performance i am thinking to return it,but a lot of people are saying to wait for software update and should be closer to 13 pro max performance,we will see
I currently have a S21 Ultra and I love it. I was debating on pre-ordering the s22 ultra because of the built in sPen and the amazing deals Samsung is offering, but I may just wait to see what the come up with next year. I really do love the look of the s21 ultra vs s22 ultra.
Fantastic review and spot on SuperSaf 👏 I would like to ask where you got your black adidas trainers in the video? Which ones are they meaning what's the name of the trainers? Many thanks 😇
That zoom into subject thing looks like it'd be cool for things like concerts if you're close to the front. Can have the phone recording and not have to worry about repositioning it yourself you can just watch with your eyes and know the phone will sort it out.
I like many was excited for the S22 Ultra 1TB 12gb ram...coming from an S21 Ultra 16gb ram I thought the new SD chipset would comp for less ram...boy was I wrong! The s22 Ultra battery drain was atrocious and the phone in general lagged bigtime despite using the storage to RAM feature...I ended up returning the S22 ultra...mondo disappointment considering that phone would have been $1700 if I kept it
I don't geht the comments. Who cares, snapdragon or exynos? I pre-ordered the S22 ultra, I don't care if my exynos version is 10% slower. You will never notice it in real life usage.
People like you allow Samsung to continue this dual chip practice. Enjoy your inferior product that you payed the same price but someone else got a better one. You vote with your wallet
It isn't just the speed. In recent years, the Exynos has been slower, less efficient, and pictures haven't been as good. I remember a time when it was the other way around, and Samsung was considering dropping Qualcomm because the Exynos version was so much better
I don't need to upgrade. But Samsung has upgrade deals and credits that if you play your cards right, you can effectively upgrade for less than 200 bucks. Just can't pass up the deal
Huge samsung supporter here, owned almost all their s lineup since s2. Currently using note 20 ultra and not sure if I want to go for s22 ultra or iPhone 13 pro max. I kind of hate ios and lightning but their battery life is really killing it, note 20U really have shit battery and I'd rather give up type c for a battery that can last for a day.
iPhone def has better battery life but the S21 ultra always made it through the day with a little bit of life to spare on days with heavy use and photo taking. So I wouldn’t base it on battery because it’s getting better. I’m actually moving from iPhone myself in a few days. Broke my S21 and got what was available and regretting it. iMessages is nice but it’s all I like.
I ditched the S21 ultra for the Iphone 13 PM and honestly as a long time Samsung user I thought I was going to regret it. But I don't at all. Battery life on this phone is just stupid good and ios may be a little more boring but you get used to that quickly.
@Carroll Copeland I use my phone very heavily throughout the day (my job depends on it), so I usually charge 2-3 time to last a full day which is insane. But I do think we should blame Qualcomm here, their soc is just so inefficient these few years comparing to Apple.
It's kind of like I like Dell xps but Intel really sucks comparing to Apple M1, I have to bring my charger everywhere I go which is frustrating, but the software I use doesn't run on Mac so I have no choice. I really hope Intel and Qualcomm could up their game soon
Don't like the 22s cameras being exposed outside of the housing. S21 camera block and a protective case is like dual protection for cameras. The curved edges of s21 remind of my all time favorite s8+. I miss my s8. Thanks for the video.
This phone is for the Note lovers amongst us :) I can imagine this is the DREAM phone for those who have been waiting for a new Note device. Those S21 Ultra users (including myself) would not I think be that tempted to switch. If you are not a fan of that boxy design and never use the S Pen why would you upgrade? I think the new phone looks super cool and I am sure it is amazing BUT what would pull you over the line to order it? Its not cheap. Here in Europe the trade in offers SUCK and you will have to sell the S21 yourself to help fund buying the S22 Ultra. This is always a struggle as the resale value of our beloved Samsung devices also sucks :) on this front sadly iPhone does rule :(
$199 to upgrade from s21 ultra at Samsung right now (unlocked 128gb version). I need 256gb though so I don't know if $299 is worth it. I'd basically be doing it for a more sleek spen integration and longer support.
Got the s22 ultra (512) thanks to your help. So as an alternate i just upgraded my Google cloud storage to compensate. Keep up the great work, and yes I slapped the like and sub👍🏿
Samsung's S23 Ultra round the corner with the much awaited UFS 4.0 flash storage high speed, power efficient interface and the boosted Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor. This time around, the primary camera is 200MP with HDR10+, Laser AF, OIS and a larger sensor. Most other features including display, connectivity, power backup etc practically the same , however the fact that the manufacturing & design elements were co-supported by TSMC might imply superior power & thermal efficiency. Note that the much overrated S22 Ultra was a disaster with the Snapdragon 8 Gen1 due to heating and thermal overruns and was underclocked by Samsung for the same reasons. Hopefully, the S23 Ultra with TSMC support can get rid of those heating issues. Last time checked, there was confusion if it was going to be manufactured by Samsung Foundry or by TSMC. If it's still Samsung, some of the heating and throttle issues of the S22 Ultra might continue in S23 Ultra. The Wifi6E triband router's are still expensive- atleast here in India so not sure how much the 6e interface can be leveraged. Further, the 5G firmware in Indian sku's supports 5G only in NSA/SA with sub-6 bands, no support for mmWave band in India yet. I was hoping for a high bandwidth holographic interface to support AR but Samsung still does not see the value add. The Selfie camera in S23 Ultra still does not have OIS though, which in think should have been there as well. Migration to Gorilla glass vitus 2 is appreciated though. Overall, I will migrate to S23 Ultra from my S21 Ultra if and only if the manufacturing process is from TSMC with NO observable heating & throttling issues in S23 Ultra as were visible in S22 Ultra- so wait & watch might be a good strategy.
@@AhhhSukeSuke I got into a bad car accident and my Note 20 Ultra is hanging on by a thread so I didn't have much of a choice but with the deals they had going on, I would have still considered an upgrade regardless!
i used s22 ultra one day didnt like the design its like the A series design plus the speaker place is shit and doesnt sound amazing on it so no need to upgrade
Same! I pre-order, the cost get down from $1,400 to $900 with the note 10+ in trade-in, for me is a win win, my screen have a problem with a update and the brightness get low like %30 o %40, after and update get a little bit better but a prefer to upgrade now!
Tried to preorder and I couldn’t order through the Samsung so order it from Best Buy. going from iPhone 8 plus to s22 ultra 1tb p black. Lost my note 8 so the 8 plus was a backup phone lol
Someone else tested 45 W vs 25W charging with a recent video on UA-cam. Surprisingly, up to 100% 25 W never fell behind the 45 W by as much as 5 minutes, and seeing as a a higher watt is harder on your battery (something SuperSaf covered in a different vid) I honestly wouldn't recommend 45W, but it is nice to know the phone can at least handle it.
It's the higher amps that harms the battery. If you download an app that monitors charging amps/volts (amp*volt=watt) you can see at what stage during the charging it put out the most. I would put my money on that the 45w charger doesn't put out 45w at any point 🙂
Tbh unless you need quick top ups, just use a 5W charger overnight. There's no point blasting it up to 100% in 45 minutes then having it sit there overnight :)
If the 45W recharge isn't actually a 45 W recharge and therefore isn't as hard on your battery as 45 W recharge I don't really see that as a reason to buy the 45W and use it rather than a 25W. If it reduces a full recharge by less than five minutes then I don't see the point. I ordered the phone and can't wait for it to arrive but I will use the 25W.
I just got my S21U a month ago. My first Samsung phone ever. I'm actually happy with it, and i don't see myself upgrading or switching brand anytime soon.
Thanks for the detailed comparison between these two phones. I've had my 21 ultra for over a year and it has been a great experience. Unfortunately, my it was damaged and Samsung no longer replaces the s21 ultra and I'll be receiving a s22 ultra as a replacement.
@@nicketchison9550 so far its not much different. I really don't use the stylist much at all. I liked the 21 ultra's rounded profile over the sharper corners of the 22 ultra, but I'm getting used to it.
The answer is always upgrade unless it's the rare case where the upgrade is actually worse because the company tried something new and crazy and it doesn't turn out well. But in general newer phones are almost always better than the previous ones it's just that simple. And even if they're marginally better they're simply going to last longer because they're newer like you mentioned..... now the other obvious options is wait a few more months because the s21 is so close to the s22 you might as well wait for the S23 Ultra wich is the big brain move. Because most of the Samsung phones you honestly will not even notice a difference you'll feel like you're using the same exact phone just by upgrading one model yeah and unless you're actually counting pixels you're not going to know the difference. But I notice if you wait a year and then buy the next mall here you can tell more of a difference in your phones because enough has changed by then. And right at the 2 year point is where you should be replacing a phone anyways.
I was looking at their current trade in program before coming across this. Used your link for additional savings but, it didn't add anything that wasn't already there. Is there a specific color, GB or provider you need to select to get this? BTW, thanks for this review! I still love my S21 ultra and it seems like the corners on the S22 would make damaging it easier. Wish they'd do away with the glass backs already.
The fact it comes with an S pen, and supports 45w charging is more than enough for me. Plus that red is awesome, I am not a fan of the rear camera design on the S21 ultra, so the clear winner here is the S22 Ultra. But I was shocked when I saw there was literally no difference in camera's and screen resolution - if anything: the S21 ultra trumps the S22 ultra on screen alone lol.

They're very well protected by the aluminum frame
As for the S22 ultra, while i don't have one, i've seen videos of drop tests and images, and it seems like the camera-protecting screens get damaged very easily.
The design is sooo beautiful as well!!)
great comment. they actually even sell pretty cool cases that have a slide to open and close that protects the camera
And ...
Dropped mine and it died immediately 😅
Using a phone without a case should be a crime
Waiting for the S22 ultra exynos and snapdragon comparison🙏🏻
Yessss
yeees!!!
Switched to OPPO(find X2 pro) because I live in an "exynos country", and the difference between snapdragon and exynos was huge. Maybe, if the new exynos performs as well or better, I switch back to Samsung. Although the new find x pro will be a contender for sure.
@@amdroid83 You look around, last day or so on Google News and Exynos is still significantly slower, I believe by about 25%.
I checked prices for the S21 Ultra on O2 and the prices haven't changed! Where can I get a cheap S21 Ultra?
@@JohnnyZenith there's no such thing as cheap s21 ultra lpl
@@TimothyChase my s21u has never been laggy lol
Think of buying a pen pen case and in a couple of months you'll have most things like the 22 ultra

Completely agree. I have an S21U and upgrading as I've always been a loyal note fan. Plus im a tech nut lol.
I wrecked the main screen after dropping it so I am done with foldables. Too dumb for them. Getting the s22 ultra
Devices don't stop holding up after only a year lol
I would gladly use your S21 Ultra if you are thinking of upgrading to S22 Ultra 🙂
Id give it about 3-4 years.. s21 series last OS update will be Android 15.. so til it stops updating passed that i wouldnt upgrade.
"still holding up" haha... as someone who still has a Note 8 :D
I NEED THAT SD CARD SLOT BACK 😡

I agree!! Love DeX on my S21 Ultra
What is Dex? I have been using s21 ultra for almost two years
@@freewill9971 DeX is what Samsung calls their desktop experience with their Galaxy S phones.

Everyone knows that micro SD on a smartphone is more reliable than cloud storage.
Same here. I just had all of the new phones in hand at my local store, they really have some great features. Most noticeable to me was the brightness, it seems double as bright as my s10 lol
But my s10 is still fine other than battery and extended gamign session on the go...
I guess I will wait till prices drop and see then, for now my s10 is still going strong.
Same. Same
Get the s21 ultra 256gb version, it's more practical with the upgraded storage if you're taking pictures casually as it'll take forever to use it all up. I got mine used like new for $875 on Swappa. I had my s10e since October 2018 and it was a MASSIVE improvement, especially the 120hz and absolutely amazing camera. Seriously, there's no going back once you see the camera and screen features!!
I use S21 ultra for my videos and i love it
Tbh when it come to design it feels like they just took the last note design and upgraded it a bit to make s22 ultra. In comparison the s21 Ultra had its own unique design from the s21 family. This year Ultra is a bit disapointing on that matter for me.
Yeah because it's basically a note
@@sagardahiya6138 Yeah but I mean It feel like they didn't even try to create a new kind of phone by mixing an ultra and a note, they just ditch the ultra and took the note back.
Still loving my s21ultra❤️👌
Have not had a Samsung phone in YEARS, but then got the 20 FE edition until the s21 ultra came out... I do not regret it. Love the phone and keeping it for as long as I can.
I have s20 fe.best phone ever
Since you do cell phone reviews do you have any that you give away?
Still think the s21 Ultra with its curved design is better than the s22 ultra uncomfortable boxy design
I was waiting to get my iPhone 13 pro max but I'm cancelling it for the S22 ultra 👀
Depends what you need the phone for...i had 13 pro max and return it after 5 days because of poor display, but the battery life in the 13 pro max it s wow, last me nearly 2 days, with samsung you won t get that long,i ordered the s22u with 1t of storage, and so far form what a saw on youtube regarding battery life and performance i am thinking to return it,but a lot of people are saying to wait for software update and should be closer to 13 pro max performance,we will see
Saf, what do you think, where is the best camera in s22 ultra or iphone 13 pro max?
I can't wait for OneUI 4.1 on my S21 Ultra!
The best and most honest comparison bro. Thank you. I'll hang on to my S21 Ultra for now.
Keeping the s21 ultra for sure! Will upgrade next year
Ok poor, be quiet
@@cloudmushu the fuck you want
That zoom into subject thing looks like it'd be cool for things like concerts if you're close to the front. Can have the phone recording and not have to worry about repositioning it yourself you can just watch with your eyes and know the phone will sort it out.
It is pity for the lack of the SD card slot and headphone jack otherwise the s22 ultra would be a perfect phone like the S2, S5, S7, S8 or the S10
I owned all of the phones u listed and honestly only s9 and s10 are good, others are just shit, especially s2 and s5
Hi, what about cell connection quality? Are they both the same or 22 ultra is better?
I like many was excited for the S22 Ultra 1TB 12gb ram...coming from an S21 Ultra 16gb ram I thought the new SD chipset would comp for less ram...boy was I wrong! The s22 Ultra battery drain was atrocious and the phone in general lagged bigtime despite using the storage to RAM feature...I ended up returning the S22 ultra...mondo disappointment considering that phone would have been $1700 if I kept it
Oh wowww
I totally agree. When the first leaks about the S22 Ultra specs were coming up, I thought "eh, not worth it". Only difference is the pen, basically.
SuperSaf really apreciate your work...👍👍
Finally a worthy Upgrade for my S8+
Finally a worthy Upgrade for my Nokia 1610
5:47 😂😂 that's a ghost ryt thr! at the window!
🤣
Don't like the 22s cameras being exposed outside of the housing. S21 camera block and a protective case is like dual protection for cameras. The curved edges of s21 remind of my all time favorite s8+. I miss my s8. Thanks for the video.
I still use my s8. Amazing phone, works perfect still.
Incredible presentation really appreciate iam watching your first video as the one...😊
for me s21 ultra already better because it aesthetic back camera, rounded conner display
Can you create a comparison between s21 ultra vs s22 plus? Which one is the better option? Thanks
You can use S pen on the S21 ultra
The Galaxy s22 ultra is really nice but I'm really happy with my Galaxy s21 ultra
I'd like to see camera comparison on s21 ultra after it gets the one ui 4.1 update. It has the tweeks the s22 ultra has.
I really love this Burgundy color!
Anyone else watching all of these 22 ultra videos, impatiently waiting for our pre-orders? 😅
Yessir
Už zítra dovezou 🤘🏻
I have an s9+....... Still undecided lol
@@AhhhSukeSuke I got into a bad car accident and my Note 20 Ultra is hanging on by a thread so I didn't have much of a choice but with the deals they had going on, I would have still considered an upgrade regardless!
Yesssssssssirrr
i used s22 ultra one day didnt like the design its like the A series design plus the speaker place is shit and doesnt sound amazing on it so no need to upgrade
For design,I choose S21 Ultra
It's a huge upgrade from me, coming from the Note 10+ so I am definitely looking forward to having the S22 Ultra. I ordered the Red color with 1TB
@@RennieAsh lol
I just got my S21U a month ago. My first Samsung phone ever. I'm actually happy with it, and i don't see myself upgrading or switching brand anytime soon.
Me too.
A great video Super SaF. I'm keeping my S21 ultra 5G for 3 more years. I'm very impressed and happy with it. Stay safe and take care.
I prefer the curvy s21 ultra to the square edges on the s22
Thanks for the detailed comparison between these two phones. I've had my 21 ultra for over a year and it has been a great experience. Unfortunately, my it was damaged and Samsung no longer replaces the s21 ultra and I'll be receiving a s22 ultra as a replacement.
This is exactly why I watched this video. I love my 21 but was told that I will be receiving a s22 ultra. Do you like it better than the 21?
@@nicketchison9550 so far its not much different. I really don't use the stylist much at all. I liked the 21 ultra's rounded profile over the sharper corners of the 22 ultra, but I'm getting used to it.
S21 is a much better phone. On ebay they selling for 3000$ for brand new 512 gb memory.
I returned s22 so fast even if Samsung gave me deep discount.
Replacing a phone every 2 years? Are you sure? I'm writing this on a note 8 😂
45w is just 8 minutes faster charging
Egg-celent video! Happy Easter!🐇
Watching from an S8+ 🥴
