Theres room for full optical lenses these days, especially given battery demands and balance/ergonomic issues. I'd love to see a M43 mount over a big sensor or an optical zoom lens like an updated Galaxy Zoom. There's so much that could be done if they weren't resigned to the same form factor.
What almost seems hypocritical is we all are ok with being the product for the biggest advertising company (Google) and Facebook but we crib about some other other company that shows you ads but also gives you the option to turn them off. Anyway, if you are buying a Xiaomi product (including Redmi, Poco), none of these chinese apps come preinstalled. Instead you get a lot of American bloatware that cannot be u installed like Google One, Google Home, Google Drive, Google Health Connect (beta), Netflix, Walmart Phonepe, Facebook. Even the nifty Mi dialer has been replaced with Google dialer in some models. Google messages come preinstalled along with Mi message. AND THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN GET RID OF THEM unless you install a different ROM.
I anticipate an ad-less experience when I payed hundreds if not a thousand dollars for the product and not just installing it for free in the appstore or play store, so no, its not hypocritical to feel bad being bombarded with ads from a phone you purchased for a large amount of money.
Also I notice a lot of people defending these Chinese phone brands with their lives when people criticizes a product from those companes, I'm not saying non-Chinese companies dont have this, but I notice them more with Chinese companies.
@@cozy6308 It is probably because of the VFM factor. Superior hardware at much lower price with similar or even better software experience. Hey next can you do a best budget phones of 2024 which includes poco x6 pro and how other budget phones in that price range compare against it and which is the best budget phone which ticks all of the boxes.
Kept the 14U and sold my S24U - both superb and could not deny the SPen and flat screen real estate of the S24U, but the square design made it less pocketable in daily use for me (even though the 14U has the massive camera bump its way easier to handle and pocket as a 'phone'). Camera on the 14U clinched the win for me though - much preferred the output from the 14U on photos and in particular macros which I take a lot of.
What about the ads and bloatware on a premium phone. ? Edit : the guys screaming on uninstalling junk also needs to explain the bug issues and glitches. Samsung is way ahead of xioami in software management's and updations 🙄
bro is crazy. just because samsung lasts 5 to 8 minutes more he gives them the point? xiaomi charges double the speed, which is 1 million times more impressive than battery usage time. Just ask tesla, fast charging is next-gen tech. The other point he stole from xiaomi is the AI capabilities.
Watching this makes me jealous of not being able to afford phones like that.. Still going strong with my Redmi Note 8 Pro. Will hopefully be able to afford one by the end of the year and hopefully the prices will drop as well because the new Xiaomi 14 ultra looks sick!
Same because in our country, as years pass and older flagships become cheaper, Samsung is still way more expensive than a comparable. And I love daily driving old flagships because of their bang for the buck + great build quality compared to newer midrange phones. For comparison, my current phone (a Mi 10 Ultra from a trusted refurbisher) is equivalent to $300 in it's original box with complete accessories while a Samsung Note 20 Ultra with the same ram and storage configuration costs $500 or more.
5:00 but we already had this with older phones. Samsung, OnePlus, e.g. all did this in the past. Xiaomi is just brining an old trend back. Also as you yourself commented on it: Curved displays seemingly always struggle with registering gestures... Honestly I am kind of happy were past that phase of phone design.
Not really. Yes there were curved displays on the sides and even xiaomi has been doing it since the mi10 at least but never have someone made a curved display on all sides, almost like a smooth pebble. mainly because glass wasn’t strong enough to be able to support that added curve that is very hard to protect but now xiaomi made their own glass (at least for the Chinese version) that can literally allow you to bang nails like a hammer with you phone screen
It wasn't to this level though. Personally I'm done with curved displays. Been using them for many years and now that I got a flat screen again i realised that i don't make any accidental clicks anymore. Coolness factor aint worth the annoyance for me.
@@ARBUZIK.dudkini think huawei have done that kind of curve before where in it curves not only on the sides but also at the top and bottom. If I'm not mistaken it's on the p40 pro model.

Been using xiaomi for 4 years now because of how cheap their phones are compared to the competition while offering similar specs. The ads in the apps problem isnt an issue for me specifically since I enjoy tweaking things and removed all their ad infested bloatware via ADB and installed other apps to do the same tasks. The camera on my current 12 pro is insane even being almost 3 years old. It still runs insanely smoothly too and can handle many mobile games effortlessly. The battery used to be great but after 2 years of usage, it's really starting to show its age. But despite this, the massive power brick with fast charging can get me back up to 80% in _18 minutes._
The big chunky camera works great when holding the phone. The edge of the camera rests on your pointer finger. So even tho the camera adds weight it also adds an edge for better grip. Like every new phone we get you just get used to it. I have the 11 Ultra (also has a chunky camera)and will likely get the 14 Ultra next. Thanks for the review.

Gotta hand it to Samsung, always launching their phones first in the year and making the competition run for their money AND STILL winning in a lot of ways. In a time where technology evolves stupidly fast, it's actually incredible how they manage to reach the end of the year as one of the best and sometimes actually THE BEST (like the S22 Ultra was)
Nice! I really hope that Honor Magic Pro 6 will be next on your channel! I want to buy it and I told my self I will not do that unless I will see you testing it first 😅
That honor has the best scores in camera, not to mention that honor batteries are the best in the market. Not gonna lie, I want that Honor too, I need it.
I don't understand why people run to buy only latest and greatest... And here I'm still using my 3+ years old Xiaomi Mi 9T. The battery degraded to 60%, the Amoled screen has a couple of burned-in elements... But it still manages to do everything I need and I will probably use it for a year more...
Using Mi 10 Pro it's about 4years already. Battery down to 3hrs SOT but very cheap to replace, performance still as smooth as day 1.Occasional random reboots. Camera is great especially with that Gcam which makes my selfies excellent. Will be replacing it with the 14U in a couple of months.
I have a Huawei die 4 years nouw a samsung almost 2 years of it last and runs oke i won't by a new one. I love looking and the latest and greatest bus baying it naaaaa
You forgot to mention that you can basically screw on filters like how you would be able to on DSLR or mirrorless cameras. I feel like this is a way of trying to do a smart camera lol. I love it.
As a former S24 ultra, Iphone 14 promax and now 14 ultra owner, i can tell you that the Xiaomi is streaks ahead of the other two. The camera is so much better, the camera kit, which is included in much of the world, makes such a difference. That camera bump actually helps you hold the phone and does not get in the way.
Well if you compare the phones by the camera, you should do that with the same generations. Even if the iPhone 14 was a misstype, the iPhone 15 still just the S23 competitor.. (remember if Samsung still has his balls, and the S24U still called to Note 24 and releasing with the iPhone 16 to compete it, isn't it strange when you only compare that with the already one year old iPhone 15..? They are not in the same generations, you can't erase the past 15 years, and easy to calxulate backwards)
arun is extremely biased towards samsung, what confirmed it for me is when he gave a point to Samsung for battery its insane. not to mention Samsung's terrible OS. Plus he even lied about the ads.
@@TamasKiss-yk4stnone of what your saying invalidates the fact he prefers the phone over the s24 ultra which is a direct competitor form the same generation lol
@@TamasKiss-yk4st not being a reviewer, I compare it with phones I have owned. I see virtually no difference between iPhone iterations but take this comparison as you will, it’s all I have actually experience unlike most keyboard warriors who pretend to know.
Exactly. I've not dropped my Xiaomi once. And in fact the weight gives it a really solid premium feel to me, and the camera bump also acts as a finger rest, making it easier to hold and avoid dropping. But for some reason the reviewer has chosen a different narrative.
I might be bias here, but the support I've received from Xiaomi for example with unlocking the bootloader out weighs the a lot of the down sides with their device. - sent from Redmi Note 9t. Awesome video, stay epic. EDIT: In South Africa (where I live) Samsung support is usually done by the mobile service providers, which does not rank well globally. Where as Xiaomi support is usually handled by Xiaomi. Which would confirm the difference as the service providers does not really care about the phone's brand. I don't think this is subjective, rather just a limited experience. Thanks for the replies! Hope which ever device you are using, or looking to use, serves you well.
I've had major issues with support in the past, from so many forums just being wrong in my case to my issue not existing anywhere, to get my Xiaomi 12t pro onto hyper os like it literally states that it's out was awful, so many issues I had to change in files to get things to work, all sorted now but jeez it took a long time

i would say xiaomi is more capable then he hays in the video. like 3-7 its indirectly saying xiaomi is no where near samsung. software and ai should be one category. i know shortcomings of xiaomi. but really 1 point for whole camera? photo and video category should get 1 point each. idk i feel xiaomi didnt get justice in the video. samsung this year isnt great its exactly same as last year and worse in some areas like cameras. they only added "Ai" and nothing else and took away the curve display.
I was rooting for Xiaomi, but I can see myself buying a Xiaomi in the future, great value. They are innovating in the right direction while Samsung is dropping the ball with anti-features IMO
The Anti Reflective Coating is definitely why the Samsung appears brighter despite having a lower brightness level on paper. Perhaps the screen being flat also has something to do with it, since there’s less light fall off
I love your videos, BUT...!this one is a little more on the side of samsung, like its sponsored. You don't have to hold the phone close to the camera, but you can also rest your fingers on the camera, because you didn't mention that no prints remain on that surface, and you don't have to clean the cameras at all, they simply don't get dirty, which is extra. Charging batery from 0 to 100% for 15 minutes xou didnt mentioned, all adds can be disabled, all. And for the camera, samsung is not close at all 😂 I think you did a great job with this video, but you weren't objective.
I own the Xiaomi 12 Pro , and no issues what so ever. People complaining over ads have to understand that we also exposed ads EVERYWHERE. So I dont even notice. Havin owned iphones before, batteries and the perforformance doesnt degrade as much on the Xiaomi as Apple.Having owned Samsung and Huawei too, Xiaomi is still my favorite phone. My phone use is to chat, scroll social media, taking photos and record video and sometimes editing, and I dont feel any lacking. I do miss more cases for the phone where one could mount lenses and filters.
I know this has nothing to do with tech but u have such a great personality that I think you would be great in the game show the traitors. I think it would be epic
Reguardless of if it’s more usefull/better, i’d still wish companies would give us a curved and a non curved variant of their ultra phones. I miss having choices.
I like curved on the back but flat on the front. My years old Umidigi Power 3 has that design; it's a great - plus very comfortable - compromise. I've never understood the appeal of curved front screens, since for yours truly there isn't any.
I have been using the S24 Ultra and a canon DSLR side by side . I am very impressed with the S24 Ultra optimization..now how you take the photos matter
The thing that matters to me is the camera, the Leica color managment is so stunning that sometimes I forget this is a phone instead of a mirrorless leica,
7:00 about the Xiaomi "It's trying to be iOS". That's how I feel about Samsung. The OneUI 6 update made my S21FE feel like an Apple product that used "Android". To me it feels like Samsung is switching more and more towards iOS. They call it Android. But in my opinion, it feels like Samsung is slowly going towards iOS. Let's take the emojis for example. In OneUI 5, I was satisfied with the emojis, they looked good. But with the OneUI 6 update, I hated the new emojis. The OneUI 6 emojis look almost identical to the iOS emojis, and I hate it. If I wanted iOS, then I'd just buy myself an iPhone. I bought my S21FE because I wanted ANDROID. Not a iOS-wannabe. Now I have a OnePlus 12 which I'm very happy with. A lot better battery life, fast charging, and it's very fast. Oh, and it uses ANDROID emojis instead of iOS-wannabe emojis.
on two different occasions the Xiaomi displays your jacket in two different tones: first black (while S24U depicts it navy blue ) and later it is navy blue. So no the software isn't there yet.

Even the nifty Mi dialer has been replaced with Google dialer in some models. Google messages come preinstalled along with Mi message.
AND THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN GET RID OF THEM unless you install a different ROM.
Theyre so stunned they dont know what to say 😂
Lmao what. Off course we don't 'cry' about Facebook or Google ads they are FREE not an 1000$ phone
I have replaced the battery 1 time. Cost to me $50. I owned 6 Samsung phones and have given up on them due to Battery failures and service here is really bad. I have to return the phone to Hong Kong, and they tell me the warranty is up and the replacement cost is an eye-watering $300. I use a 15 Pro Max and a Huawei 70 Pura Pro+.

I think fast charging is very bad for the battery? My mate 20 pro battery is now also DEAD after just 3-4 years!
