The new MARS HYDRO TS1000 is not the best looking or highest quality light but MARS are leading the way for budget Grow Lights with their new passive cooling range with full spectrum white light.
Negatives are the flimsy reflector or heatsink, no protection on the LEDs and driver mounted on the back.
Positives are good efficiency, full spectrum white light, passive cooling and very good value for money.
Overall I like this light a lot. Hopefully it marks the end of Blurple fan boxes :)

Hello! I started watching you a few months ago and I must say I've learned so much just by listening to your channel..thank you for all the outstanding information!! Seriously, God bless
This tiny little light,is the best light!!!! I can't get the growth from this, from any other light. This thing gets incredible growth!!!! I want to buy a couple more and just veg with 3 or 4 of these lights. I had 8 plants under just one of these and my girls, were ready to flip ijn about 4 weeks. They were around 4' tall in just 4 weeks!!!!! They were cuttings to start. I've terminated seeds and got almost the same growth from seed grown. For around $150,this light has so much bang for your buck!!!!! And my energy bill hasn't fluctuated at all. I'm amazed, honestly.
I agree with bitterman...no way! I've been growing for over 30yrs...and have NEVER ever seen 4ft plants in 4wks...even with 1000 watt hps with co2...You're full of it.
I think what you do is just great 👍 I’ve never seen anyone do such fantastic work so full of information every time 11/10 just great thank you
Hey man this video says it's 2 years old. Has there been any improvements with any other budget lights best used for horticulture LED light for like a 4x4
You made this video shortly after I purchased this light. Still running everyday. Amazing little light!!! Very sense buds.
im so glad i found this channel, thank you
I bought this light because of you're review and my plants have done great. I can grow a nice sized plant in my tent with it!
Thanks for illustrating the ppfd per watt calculation over different areas. Really helped me understand your earlier reply on a previous video.
THANK YOU!! Good to know there are affordable options that produce results 💯💪
This guy does a GREAT job on reviews and I have learned so much from him about grow lights. Thanks for all you guys do at Migro and this TS-1000 review was fantastic. I own one and I'm happy with the results and the price I paid for the TS1000. I will pair it was a 100 watt cree cob light in a 2' x 4' tent and it should produce pretty well.
NATE CAN I ASK U A QUESTION. IVE GOT A COUPLE OF THE TS1000 AND FCE300 CAN IT BE JOINED TO THE TS 1000S THANKS
thanks for the review with 1 of this and a QB 120 in a 3x3 it s a beautifull work
Always value your reviews mate.
Cheers, this one was a real surprise.
i take my hat off to you Shane, fair play for all the video's, i hope your business thrives 07
+1
I split the corners of mine, spread the sides out a bit.made a huge difference and kept the unit easier to cool
I really enjoy your videos! Thanks for sharing and keep them coming! Happy growing everyone!!!
Love your transparency!
Solid as always, keep up the great work mate. Cheers!
Great review Migro! Appreciate it my good sir.
Overall I like this light a lot. Hopefully it marks the end of Blurple fan boxes :)

I just payed 800$ aus dollars for a sp250 and 2ts 1000 z for my 4x4 and the pick up in 2 days is nuts .....#aussieledgrower and lukewalker443 on insta
Hay wat are the little rubber bit on top with the 20 50 80 and100on it ??
I just realised there dimmers but wat?? U take the rubber grommet out and there is a dial ???
@@aussieledgrower7490 You most likely use a flat screwdriver that fits a slot in a post that comes from a potentiometer(dimmer).

once again a nice honest review . great to see a non biased light review channel :)
X2 i love this channel. Always honest and great analysis and explanations of growing lights.
I love this light. Highly recommend it
Your business integrity is wonderful even tho you have your own product you still review and give credit Most people solely focus on their products alone
I have two of these. I use one each in two 48"x48" Vivosun grow tents. Well into veg in my fourth grow. Am getting very satisfactory results.
How did flowering turn out?
Great review. Very accurate testing. Highly appreciated. Did you ever do PAR testing at 12" with this light?
Well I’m a 66 year old grandmother with a few dozen greens and lettuce plants in some downspouts & some plastic bins Kratky style that is realizing with winter coming on in a few weeks I’m going to have to move it all into the garage & figure out what lights to get. After watching the video & reading a few dozen comments I think I’m going to have to take a course in the new language y’all all speak also before I can figure out which lights I should get. I guess I need a hydroponic lighting for dummies video. On to the search bar.
Thanks Shane, have ordered this as first grow light.
@Latisha Queen It's well made and does what it says on the tin. Great bright light, dimmer dial staring you in the face, easy enough to hang and no screwdriver needed for assembly.
I did an unboxing test on this as well, I like the performance just not the look or how hot it runs. It could use some extra metal to help displace the heat IMO but the performance is quite good in a 2x2 space. Using it in my veg tent it worked quite well to veg a 2x4 tent but it was a little bright in the middle because it fires down more than out. I was able to run it pretty high. Great light for a 2x2-2x3 space.
Im gonna check out the tsl 2000 bro
I bought the ts3000 with a 5x5 grow tent, it's bright af. According to the docs, it has a 5x5 vegetation coverage, and 4x4 for Bloom. It puts off some heat, though I'm running both an exhaust fan and floor fans, which keeps a pretty level temperature. This was a major upgrade for me from a 600 HPS and I love it.
send pics of your chillies
Surprised at the figures, but the facts don't lie. Switched over from my HPS to LED samsung quantum boards, best thing I ever did. Well done with the reviews Shane, came across you on Instagram. Keep doing your thing 🙏
Thanks for the review!
Thank you Shane!
I love this light
I'm glad ya said they're excellent because I bought one not long before I watched this lol....I did watch about 5 other good reviews and talk to a few people using them who said they're getting excellent results with them before I bought one though :-)
Love this guy!
Thank you for this information! I'm currently in the market for lighr structure, and this video help me narrow my choice.
My 4th grow under these lights, absolutely amazing results, and it's about as much as 2 60 watt bulbs on your electric bill
Nice review man. I just got my ts1000 a few days ago and my plants seem to like it.
CityBoy Hippie , any update ? How do you feel about it now ?
Glad i have seen this, great review. Mars hydro are sending me out a new light to review, cant wait. Currently using the LM301b quantum boards from invisiblesun which are also pretty good. Any reviews on them?
I used to have all these low end lights until I came across migro yes there a little bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for and I haven't had one issue with mine actually I like it better than anything I've had so far I think Shane keep up the good work I'm going to be order another one possibly tonight or tomorrow. I also like it because the driver you can put outside the tent when it's warm out and when it's cold out if it's a little cold in your house you can put the driver inside the tent win-win situation
An honest review from someone who also sells lights. Congrats !! Run for president !
Great video some quality information I love it. Thanks 4 sharing
The ballast is removeable now and has a pretty long power cord. The ballast does get pretty warm when compared to others.
Something that mars has been lacking in recently with these type of extra High Efficiency LED’s is the red spectrum. Red photons are about about 15% more efficient in comparison to blue when causing photosynthesis as well as it seems to be lacking far red or IR which has shown recently to be extremely important in the process of photosynthetic creation of NADPH in photosynthetic system 1. Photosystem 2 step creates ATP cannot use these IR but when in tandem with photosystem 1 the classic Mcree curve no longer neglects 700-800nm on the spectrum. Utah state has some amazing videos.
Thank you!
Hey can you test out parfactworks cob led lights
In my tropical warm house I still have the tried and tested sodium vapor lamps.
great video just wondering if taking the ballast off the top off the light would help the long jeopardy of the light
Ill be trying out the tsl 2000 soon
Did you ever get it?
Great review
I would highly recommend this light. Everything seems to grow perfect under it. I use it on 25% power and it is still very bright and just warm to the touch.
i agree it runs very hot seems the cheap driver is over powered runs better at approx 120 watts and the leds will last longer as well.
Hi, are they good for bloom? I'm looking to get one and on the mars website it sais it's 4x4 for veg and 3x3 for bloom (sorry that's the tws2000.)but I don't understand why, i thought you might have some insight
@@ricado372 That sounds about right, you might even get away with using it at 75% power for veg. I currently use the TS1000 in a 2x2 on 25% intensity and it lights up the canopy very brightly and evenly. The leaves usually develop a dark green colour and the plants do not stretch very much even when I hang the light high. I hope I could help :)
Happy growing!
@@Convolutedtubules thanks for the help. One thing I still don't quite get is, why does it cover less space for bloom.
@@ricado372 That is because typically you would hang your lights lower during flower to increase light intensity, but that tends to cover a smaller area. Although if you have good reflective walls and a full canopy it won't matter too much as this panel light shines a lot of it's light to the sides.
Excellent video!
Shane hi been keeping up with your video's really informative. My question Mars TS 1000 or the Mars SP 150 in a small grwow 80x80x180 cm which would be better. Thanks. Keep the info coming.Alan
This light is hella strong in terms of effect on the plant. I had one of these at 80% about 24” from my plants and it was burning them like they were 6” from an HPS light.
What plants you are grow?
@@dailygrow6961 I had it over wedding cake, a sherbet cross and I think an afgani cross. At about 24" away at 70% power it was cooking my plants. Had to turn it way down then eventually remove it from the tent. Plants were about 12-18" tall
"tears up manual"
I've only used these at 60 percent, threwout all phases with absolutely phenomenal results and high yields
This is definitely a step in the right direction from the noisy boxes or the flimsy "driverless" lamps! I wonder if you could lower it by an inch or two so the center ppfd value is around 1000. The spread seems even enough that there wouldn't be any hotspots and you'd get better results out of it
Plant bleaching
Great video! Thanks
Great video. I debated on getting the 2000 model bit went with phlizon 3000w cree cobs instead. More power for the price😁
I lime seeing you compare all of the lights specs to makers specs.
Also glad to see mars stepping up their game👍🏻👍🏻
other issues are. There is a little hole in the ledboard, right next to a led.The plate wich has the driver and trimmer has a dent and its bends upwards ,so its uneven. So when i hang the led, its hanging uneven ,because the plate is bending in one corner. It makes one hanger mount to be higher.
I bought the Mars Hydro TS600 on Amazon just to try out with a few other Amazon lights . And let me tell you " this little ts600 has done a above average job flowering the photo period I placed under it.
I just bought a Lenofocus Quantum Board off amazon. I believe its comparable to the Mars ts1000. Would love your thoughts on the light
I just came on to ask exactly the same question as Beginner Bud, I was interested in a comparison between the LEDs both spectrum and efficiency as they seem similar in cost. Also a comparison of build quality/features would be great. Thanks
Great video thank you sir.
I've had mine for about 3 years almost, I keep in about 16 in veg and even closer and flour at full strength never had a problem... Get yourself a fan and exhaust if you got heat problems and you're good to go I don't know why people are messing with the dimmer switch so much honestly..
i got two of these. One is working, but other one has some major issues. Biggest one is that the driver leaks current to the reflector and hangers, so i got couple of electric shocks. Wouldnt recommend to anybody. And they get way hotter that expected
This light works good
This seems cool 😎
I been growing with mars lights since I started my channel.
Would you recommend them?
@@stoneageaquaponics9142 for the price range, and group of lights similar. I would recommend them. They are a high output light. Mars specs i believe are inflated like everyone's. I been trying to get a tester of fc or sp series. I am going to be doing a weekly grow update on a spider farmer sp 1000 tester very soon. Also unit farmer uf 2000 tester. Feel free to subscribe and follow along. I appreciate the support 🤜🤛
I'm certain I should be getting licensing fees for my cookie pan light. F-strips and a 240w driver on a 1/2 sheet baking pan-simple, very efficient and also less than $1/watt. Great report!
Your light surely outperforms this build :)
inexperience growers might put this light down but we are in 2021 and the TS1000 is still KICKING BUTT and taking names! Ive seen all kinds of newer lights not being able to compete with this 2019 model's par and performance.
I have a 4x3 box - had three Mars300 blurples. It was okay - but when I saw the TS1000, I bought one to try - liked it and bought a second. Then I ordered two more to open a second box. They're good value - paid $180 Canadian per. They are not very hot at all and throw a lot of light. For my configuration, they're perfect.
Hey, do they flower well?
@@twentytwo138 Yep.
Ty very much for this gideo definitely getting 1 of these now. Could you please test Samsung's LM301b Light Board 240w version. Thank you
Ive read and spoke with ppl and they say its basically the same results wise and i think there the same led
@@jokimaguire5045 not the same led
HLG......if you want to produce ANYTHING, OF QUALITY......
@@johnappleby2182 that's not true haha as long as its a Meanwell driver. The TS1000 uses a cheap driver. But the TS2000,TS3000 bpth use a Meanwell. And the Mars 250P led bar all use a Meanwell
The shock that people are getting from the Mars lights kind of sounds
like it's DC voltage not AC, so it may not be a grounding issue
afterall, and something else. Typically with AC power you will get a
continuous shock, because the power is oscillating back and forth at 60
cycles per second, so you feel a sort of buzz type shock, whereas with
DC, you usually only feel one big shock once the circuit is broken, more
like a quick static shock.
lol i remember when you made this video, wow have the lights changed since this.
Viparspectra is the same sort of Lights called the L 1000 puts out 150 w larger cover radius because it has that kind of a reflector
The Mars ts 1000. Is good for my chillies.
I never ever rated this light, I instantly wrote it off! but Depending on what you're looking for... when it comes to price and efficacy and even spread around the edges, this light is pretty damn good!
I have never seen a reading round the edges as close to the reading in the centre, and that's exactly what I want.
Thats what hit me too !
@@JhonnnyTheMan 75cm by 75cm is the best tent for that light I think, in the 60 by 60 it was good but in the 90 by 90 it wasn't enough, which made me think I wish Shane did the test a third time lol but that's just me being a perfectionist I suppose lol ✌️❤️💯🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Have you done a comparison with the driver turned down . Under the rubber cap is the power level adjuster . What's the lowest it can go , it's turned down from factory 1/4 turn
Damn marshydro stepping up their game pulling 1.8 um/j. What next, a 3500k white viparspectra?
Great vid as always, thanks for making it.
I hope so, I love Viparspectra and use two of them.
Spider Farmers SP1000 hits 2.7 or 2.8 um/j I forget which one but it's insane. There's a video of this guy who did a test grow on lettuce and it grew like a weed lol pun intended
It would be interesting to compare the 2000 and the 3000 to see which one is more effective for the buck.
Nice review fella I've just seen something simlair on joom I was going to order a couple .and have you test one 😁
Which do you think is better the mars hydro ts1000 or the spider farmer sp1000? Ty for your videos helping me alot
Hey mate. I'm a subscriber and love watching your videos, always quality and informative 👍 I saw this video and was wondering if you can compare this Mars hydro 1000w to the spider farmer sf2000w please? I was considering getting 2xsf1000 or 1xsf2000 but, then watched this review and wondered out of the two, which was the better light and would give more yield? Thanks in advance ✌
When you compare difference wattages, more watts will pretty much always win. Efficient lights will save you in bills but take a long time to pay for themselves and they're not outright beating anything with a real watt advantage, 50% more watts is pretty bit so of course the 2XTS-1000s win.
Hey! I got one of these which i'm using in a growing tent but my tomato plant leaves turn yellow and dry out, no flowers are grown, plant keeps on growing but that's it! I water every morning and have the LED run moring to 6pm roughly :( i put fertilizer once a month, got 1 tomato all summer when the plant was outside, i got nothing inside
I bought 3 but was hoping for a video on whether it should be dimmed
I've ran all different brands and types of LEDs and have sold them all after I got my ceramic metal halide fixtures. But if I had to have an LED light migro would be a good choice or hlg or Spectrum King. My man my migro he's always honest in his videos even if that means saying something is just as good or better than his product
Hi mate which brand and model ceramic metal halides would you recommend?
Quick question:
One Spider Farmer SF4000 or two SF2000 daisy chained? I’m erring towards the latter because of better light distribution despite the setup being pricier. More likely to have an improved 5’ x 5’ footprint than one SF4000. SF4000 kills it in a 4’ x 4’, in a larger tent...not so much.
Why the efficiency is in bigger area better? I thought, that the smaller area captures more light? So what if im set the dimmer to 80% in 60x60? Its than 1,79 too?
Thanks and greetings
I know you did the fc 4800 but could you please do a review of the fce 4800? and maybe compare the two and what you think about the different diode usage ? I really respect and learn from your knowledge . thanks for all you do ! :)
Good afternoon, tell me if it makes sense to replace the TS600 lamp in the Mars Hydro TS 600 Grow Kits, grow box size 60 * 60 * 140 centimeters, with a Mars Hydro TS1000 lamp for better growing results or is the TS600 enough for this grow box? Thanks for the answer !
This light might be approaching the sp250 for efficiency, do you think it will have the same deep penetration?
Can you mist near that thing, or would it cause damage?
The dimmer is scaled to 4 sections 25 50 75 100 percent, I wish they included table for recommended hanging height accordingly
+1 I've been looking all over and can't seem to find one
Chris Hamill: No kidding. Been looking everywhere with no luck.
Love it! I just ordered one!"💚👊💨
If you go on Alibaba, and look for Quamtum boards, you can get twice the performance for same price.

I really like my mars hydro lights they kick ass. I don’t care what people say about them. The lights are good. Haven’t had to deal with their customer service tho. It I hear it sucks. They sponsored me an sp 150 and I also own a ts 1000. As far as dealing with the company as a sponsor, They have been great. Cheers!
You know, this is not a proper recommendation if you are sponsored. And they send the best models to sponsors as well, they make sure it's brand new and working perfectly. If you are paid to speak well of a company, i would take it with a big grain of salt.
Would you recommend this light over the spider farmer sf1000 ? They are comparable in price
Great light. Have 2 of them. My plants love it☀️
Post some videos on your channel ✌🏼✌🏾
Helkamaniac ! I have 3 loovveeee them !
@bill2526 bill2526 upload a video I'd love to see.
Jordy Kingston Grows just posted a video. Check it out👍
what size tent for 2? 4X2?
If i buy two and hook them together (daisychain) would I only need to plug one light into a Timer to control both? Or do they each have to be hooked to a seperate timer? Thanks,
Good stuff Shane. I have 3 cmh fixtures. I have 1 with a phillips 4200k 1 with yushio 3000k and 1 with protopia 4200k. Tomatoes and peppers love it. I need to figure out how to build a light mover as I have looked online and they are really out there as for the prices. Any input form you as far as maybe a good place to buy one would be appreciated.
Should you dim this for seedlings? Or just keep at full power
You should do a review video on the Viparspectra DS300 Dimmable Reflector Series 300W
I wonder if they loose lumens after short time and/or die like the last epistar chips...
Had a previous model mars hydro and reconverted it to 6 cree CBX3950 at low 0.8Amp. Well worth the change!
Go expensive or do it yourself!!
