I have not had them on ice or snow yet. We just don’t get that much of either here in Georgia. But with any fully locked locker I could imagine it will take a lot more throttle control and driver input for ice. I suspect snow would be awesome because in the mud and rocks these lockers are king. I have had them in some very slick mud on a clay packed road and the back end wants to fish tail but putting it in 4high helped correct that. Thanks for watching
Also note that this locker will cause issues in 2012 or newer JK’s with auto trans, throw wheel speed sensor code. Consult Yukon tech line if needed, they are very helpful.
I have had these Grizzly lockers in now for nearly 3 years or so and I have never heard any noise from the front locker. I would assume it would be quiet for you as well.
Don't even notice the front locker is there while on pavement. The rear locker is fussy on the pavement while in parking lots or any low speed driving and turning. Both are king once off-road.
Also I found out that rotation under power from the driveline helps keep the Grizzly locker locked. That’s why when making low speed turns in parking lots with the clutch pressed in I get noise from the rear locker.
The Yukon Grizzly lockers are amazing offroad, they are a little fussy on the pavement but the noises have almost gone away after about 1,000 miles on them. From time to time I do get a little shuttering feel when I'm coasting into a parking spot turning (jeep in neutral/I have a 6 speed)
The rear locker will cause it to go into limp mode on 2012-newer JK’s with automatic trans. I have a 2015 JKU with a manual and zero issues because it’s a manual trans. A Grizzly locker in the front would be fine. Consult Yukon as they have other lockers available for JK’s. Thanks for watching
Since mine is a manual trans it hasn’t been ever an issue or caused any warning lights. Installing Grizzly lockers in 2012 - newer JK’s with auto trans causes issues.
I love them, they work every time without any air lines or electric wires etc. I don’t even know the front locker is installed, super quite. The rear locker is even quite. But not everything is perfect, with my manual trans the rear locker can be a little fuzzy when I’m in 1st gear and making slow speed turns on pavement. I use the clutch to control it. It’s like the locker isn’t under enough load or speed for it to disengage. Totally awesome lockers, they did seem to need a little break in time as well. Thanks for watching
Country Harrison yeah I did gears and lockers at the same time and broke them in together with fluid change afterwords. If you have a 2012 newer JK with auto trans you can’t use the Grizzly in the rear, it will cause traction control issue with warning light. Yukon has another locker option, zip locker.
Those white and purple boxes showing up on the doorstep are ALWAYS a lovely sight!
I totally agree... thanks for watching
Great video Im doing 4.88 Gears on a jeep wrangler Jk 14
Thanks for watching!!! Go Yukon
When you said great looking unit, how many though that's what she said? Just verifying I am not a lost cause here. Good video thanks.
Thanks for watching. lol
Great video. Thx for sharing. How do they perform in snow and ice?

On the Dana 44 rear locker what gear ratio does it handle. I'm gonna be regearing my jeep to 4.56 or 4.88. Would that be able to handle it?
Yes you’re fine. I have 4.56 gears in my 2015 with Grizzly rear locker. I think 3.73 was the cut off, meaning you need 3.73 gears or higher.
Also note that this locker will cause issues in 2012 or newer JK’s with auto trans, throw wheel speed sensor code. Consult Yukon tech line if needed, they are very helpful.
Alrighty. Thanks.
So I can remove my noisy Aussie for this on the front of my TJ w D30 axle?
I have had these Grizzly lockers in now for nearly 3 years or so and I have never heard any noise from the front locker. I would assume it would be quiet for you as well.
@@Georgia4Low good to know. I’m running a trutrac in the front of my tj, but when the trails get real tough it doesn’t cut it.
@@robp418 these things are king when off-road
How them thangs do on the road?

@@Georgia4Low so no noise or ratcheting, popping, or banging?
You will get some clanking noise at times from the rear at low speed turning if the clutch is pressed in.
Also I found out that rotation under power from the driveline helps keep the Grizzly locker locked. That’s why when making low speed turns in parking lots with the clutch pressed in I get noise from the rear locker.
How has the Yukon held up since you put it in, I don't mind a little noise while turning. I just don't want the shuttering or jamming feeling

Will these work on a 2015 JK or will they cause it to go into limp mode like an Aussie locker would?
The rear locker will cause it to go into limp mode on 2012-newer JK’s with automatic trans. I have a 2015 JKU with a manual and zero issues because it’s a manual trans. A Grizzly locker in the front would be fine. Consult Yukon as they have other lockers available for JK’s. Thanks for watching
How does the grizz work with the stabil trac?
What is Stabil Trac?

Yeah Randys Ring&Pinion said they'll need a 500 mile break in and then needs the fluid changed

I need one for a JK rubicon
Rubicons have electric lockers.

@@neilmarshall4927 true, reason I like these. Ready for work all the time with no wires or air lines.
@@Georgia4Low I'll probably look into an ARB air locker when this happens
