Great job with re-designing the bottom “ kick-plate”…it really did modernize it. Like you I am not in love with Behr chalk paint and I don’t think it is the color or your technique. I had to paint 4 to 5 coats of a darker blue to get full coverage. I also watered it down, tried different brushes and sanded between coats and still got too many brush marks or more than my liking. I would return the $30 brush back to Home Depot…tell them it is a piece of junk and didn’t perform…they will take it back Thank you for showing your experience with this paint because other flippers have had the opposite experience…maybe this is ok for spraying only.
Oh thank you for the feedback! I’m glad it’s not just me. I sprayed it and it was fine, so I’m thinking that if I ever use it again I will spray it. But I probably won’t use it again. Haha Thanks again!
I have never had good success with Behr paint for furniture. The color was just “meh” for me. Love the hardware and the work you did in the bottom was excellent. Nice job overall.
Looks amazing as usual! I'm curious to know what you use to record your videos. I'm working with my iPhone, an old camera and an old laptop to record my furniture flips and am struggling to get my videos uploaded properly so I need to upgrade my equipment. Please let me using. Thanks!
I traded my canon t6i in for a canon rebel sl3 when I started making videos. Mostly I needed a flip screen so I could make sure I’m in the shot. And then I have 2 different lenses that I switch in between. The lenses make the biggest difference I think. I have a tight shot lens called the efs 24mm. Then I have a more wide lens that I use more for taking my after photos. I also finally upgraded my iPhone to an 11 pro at the end of last year. I use it for wide shots a lot. It’s not the best setup, but it’s what I could afford. I use Davinci (free) to edit my videos on my computer. I would recommend as much speed as you can afford if you’re going to edit on the laptop. Best of luck! Figuring out equipment is a pain!
I'm looking into flipping furniture for the first time; so, I am completely new to this. I was wondering how much you would sell a piece like this. I was also curious how much the brush-marks would effect price when selling flipped furniture. Thanks!
I don’t Think the brush marks make the selling price any less. Some people prefer brush marks. this little piece would probably sell for $200-$300 depending on the market and if the staging the photography is good. It also depends on the quality of the piece too. Something that is solid, nice wood should sell for more than a piece that is particle board. Hope that helps!
When you were repairing the drawer, you clamped a piece of wood to the drawer but first you sprayed it with cooking spray. What was the cooking spray for? Love your work.

I also purchased the $30 Behr round brush. I was also very disappointed in it. Several projects in, it was still shedding.
Mine didn’t even take one project to start shedding. 😕 sorry you had issues!
love the format and way you do your videos! they’re so easy to learn from!
Thank you so much!!
I love what you did with the base
Would the 1,2,3 bulls eye primer work for this
Yes and no. It won’t block bleedthrough issues. But if you aren’t worried about that, yes, 123 will help paint stick better.
Fantastic Job
Lovely job, x

The cooking spray makes it so the kwikwood doesn’t stick to the clamped wood. I’ve also used Vaseline or other oils.
Gorgeous!!!!
Thank you!!
WOW !Changing the base made such a huge difference! LOVE it!!
